In Chhattisgarh, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary today presented the Budget for the year 2026-27 in the State Legislative Assembly. The total outlay of the Budget is approximately one lakh seventy-two thousand crore rupees.
In his Budget speech, the Finance Minister said that the theme of this year’s Budget is “SANKALP”. He announced the launch of twelve new schemes in the state. Provision has also been made to start five new missions. These include the Chief Minister AI Mission, Tourism Development Mission, Sports Excellence Mission, Infrastructure Mission, and the Startup and Nipun Mission. An allocation of at least one hundred crore rupees annually has been proposed for each of these missions over the next five years.
In view of the Union Government’s resolve to make the country free from Naxalism by the thirty-first of March this year and the likelihood of an early end to Maoist activities in the Bastar division of the state, several provisions have been made in the Budget for multi-dimensional development of the Bastar region.
