The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Nagaland University Dean Dr. Chitta Ranjan Deb for alleged Corruption. The agency has registered a case against the senior professor for allegedly demanding bribes from vendors in exchange for favorable treatment in supply orders for scientific equipment and consumables. The CBI conducted searches at multiple locations in Jorhat, Lumani, and Agartala, recovering incriminating documents related to bribe transactions and tender documents. The investigation is ongoing.
