In the United States, the California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles County amid predictions of intense rainfall and strong winds due to a storm. The Governor said in a social media post that flash flooding is higly anticipated in Southern California.
An alert for falling trees and power outrage has also been issued across Northwest California. The administration has pre-deployed over 250 personnel and equipment across 14 counties to aid in storm response. Swift water teams, urban search and rescue teams, engines and helicopters are also pre-positioned.
