World Food Safety Day is annually celebrated on June 7 with themes addressing pressing concerns regarding food safety. Despite the copious laws regarding food safety standards, findings show that an average of 1,600,000 people get sick due to unsafe food infected with bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemical substances every day. The statistics are alarming and prove the necessity of bringing attention to the relevance of Food Safety Day and its principles.
This year, the focus is on ensuring that food prepared in every household is safe and healthy to consume. As home cooking becomes more popular, understanding and implementing food safety measures is crucial to prevent foodborne illnesses.

वर्ल्ड फूड सेफ्टी डे की शुरुआत यूएनओ ने खाद्य सुरक्षा के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और खाद्य जनित बीमारियों को रोकने के लिए कार्यों को बढ़ावा देने किया था. यूएनओ की जनरल असेंबली ने 20 दिसंबर 2018 को फूड सेफ्टी डे मनाने का फैसला किया और इसके लिए 7 जून की तारीख तय की. 7 जून 2019 को पहली बार वर्ल्ड फूड सेफ्टी डे मनाया गया था. उसके बाद से इस दिन को हर साल मनाने का सिलसिला शुरू हो गया. उचित खाना पकाना: भोजन बनाते समय यह सुनिश्चित करना आवश्यक है कि भोजन ठीक से पकाया गया है। उचित खाना पकाने से सभी कीटाणुओं, खतरनाक सूक्ष्मजीवों को मारने में मदद मिलती है।
⦁ Each year, the day puts forth specific themes, highlighting the relevant challenges pertaining to food safety. The theme of 2024 is “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected,” which, according to the WHO, emphasises the “significance of being ready for food safety incidents, regardless of their severity.”
Having access to a sufficient amount of safe food is the key to maintaining a good life. Consuming food that is contaminated can lead to various food-borne illnesses. Food safety can be defined as a way to store, prepare, consume, and deliver food in such a way that it can maintain proper nutrition and good health. Food safety also prevents the development of bacteria, which can lead to severe illness.
⦁ So …. let’s talk a bit about food poisoning.Food poisoning, also called foodborne illness, is irritation or infection of the digestive tract. It is commonly caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites in food and beverages.
Symptoms of food poisoning commonly include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and/or diarrhea that can be managed at home. However, more severe symptoms like blurred vision, paralysis, and dehydration require immediate medical treatment.
Let’s also quickly look at some ways in which we can prevent food poisoning:1.Keep clean always. 2. Separate raw and cooked food.3. Cook thoroughly.4. Keep food at safe temperature and 5. Use safe water and raw materials. So these are 5 ways by which you can keep yourself and your family safe from food poisoning.
साफ पानी: फल या सब्जियों को हमेशा साफ पानी से धोएं। यह उन पर लगे रसायनों और गंदगी को धोने में मदद करता है। जोखिम को कम करने के लिए कच्चे माल को सावधानी से धोएं और धोएं तथा छीलें।

The 18th edition of Mumbai International Film Festival – MIFF 2024 is all set to begin from 15th June. The NDA has swept the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh bringing to forefront the issue of Amaravati, the proposed Capital City of Andhra Pradesh.
“Post bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, the ambiguity over the new capital city persisted. With the Telugu Desam Party making a comeback in the state, the proposed capital city of Amaravati is back in the limelight. Between 2014-19, under the TDP regime the Amaravati region bustled with activity with regime procured close to 33,000 acres to construct a new capital city. Later with the proposal of three capitals by the government led YSR Congress Party, the idea of Amaravati as the green field capital took a back stage. All this is changing now. Telugu Desam Party chief, Mr Chandrababu Naidu will be taking oath for the fourth time as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati, rekindling the hope that it would be ransformed in to a world class capital city. The farmers of this region who gave close to 33,000 acres under the land pooling scheme have ended their 5 year protest. They are now hopeful that their land will be used to construct a world class capital which will act as a catalyst for growth in the state. Being in proximity to Vijayawada and Guntur, the two major cities in Andhra Pradesh, the Krishna River front Capital city Amaravati has the potential to become the nucleus of development in the state. The Loka Kerala Sabha is an initiative of the Kerala government aimed at connecting Keralites all over the world, serving as a platform for its people from various walks of life to come together, exchange ideas and contribute to the development of their home state. India has added two bird sanctuaries from Bihar, Nagi and Nakti, to the ‘Ramsar Sites’ list, taking the tally to 82. The newest ‘Wetlands of International Importance’, both man-made reservoirs situated in the Jhajha forest range of Jamui District in Bihar, were added to Ramsar Sites as part of World Environment Day. The two catchments feature dry deciduous forests surrounded by hills. With the two sites, India now equals China in terms of Ramsar Sites. Both countries have 82 recognised waterlogged ecosystems in the country. The UK with 175 has the highest number of such sites, followed by Mexico, 144.

Indian benchmark indices closed higher for the 3rd straight session, with Sensex touching a fresh all-time high following the RBI’s decision to keep the benchmark repo rates unchanged.
The 30-stock BSE Sensex, which had opened lower at 75,032 climbed in the afternoon session to touch its all-time high of 76,795 in intraday trades. At close, the Sensex was at 76,693 up 1,619 points, or 2.16 percent. Similarly, Nifty, which had also opened flat at 22,822 climbed to an intraday high of 23,320 only 18 points short of its all-time high. At close, the Nifty 50 was at 23,290 up 469 points, or 2.05 percent.
In the forex market, the Indian rupee ended at 83 rupees and 38 paise against the US dollar.

भारत के अमन सहरावत ने कल शाम हंगरी के बुडापेस्ट में कुश्ती रैंकिंग सीरीज़ 2024 में रजत पदक जीता। फ्रीस्टाइल 57 किलोग्राम वर्ग के फाइनल में अमन को जापान के री हिगुची से तकनीकी श्रेष्ठता के आधार पर 1-11 से हार का सामना करना पडा।
इस रजत पदक से अमन को आगामी पेरिस ओलंपिक के लिए अपनी रैंकिंग बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी।

और अब समय है उन हस्तियों को याद करने का, जिनका आज है जन्म दिवस या जिन्होंने आज के दिन इस दुनिया को अलविदा कहा। इस क्रम में सबसे पहले याद करेंगे अपने समय के लोकप्रिय नृतक नटराज रामकृष्ण को जिनकी आज है पुण्यतिथि। वे आंध्र प्रदेश संगीत नाटक अकादमी के अध्यक्ष रहे। वे एक विद्वान संगीतज्ञ भी थे। नटराज रामकृष्ण ने दुनिया भर में शास्त्रीय नृत्य को बढ़ावा दिया। उन्होंने 40 से अधिक पुस्तकें लिखीं, जिनमें से कई को सम्मानित भी किया गया।
मात्र 18 साल की उम्र में ही नटराज रामकृष्ण को ‘नटराज’ की उपाधि दी गई थी।
नटराज रामकृष्ण को 700 साल पुराने नृत्य रूप ‘पेरिनी शिव तांडवम’ को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए जाना जाता है। उन्होंने कुचिपुड़ी को पारंपरिक नृत्य रूप के साथ अंतरराष्ट्रीय ख्याति दिलाई।

बात जन्मदिवस की तो आज जन्मदिवस है अपने समय की बेहद लोकप्रिय और प्रसिद्ध फ़िल्म निर्देशक, पटकथा लेखक और उर्दू लेखक ख़्वाजा अहमद अब्बास का। वे उन कुछ गिने चुने लेखकों में से एक थे, जिन्होंने मुहब्बत, शांति और मानवता का पैगाम दिया। ‘बॉम्बे क्रॉनिकल’ में ये लंबे समय तक बतौर संवाददाता और फ़िल्म समीक्षक रहे। इनका स्तंभ ‘द लास्ट पेज’ सबसे लंबा चलने वाले स्तंभों में गिना जाता है। यह कॉलम 1941 से 1986 तक चला। ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास इप्टा के संस्थापक सदस्य थे। अब्बास को पद्म श्री, ग़ालिब पुरस्कार, फ़िल्म ‘नीचा नगर’ के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय कान्स फ़िल्म समारोह में पाल्मे डी’ओर पुरस्कार, फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कार से भी नवाजा गया।
अब्बास साहब ने पांच दशकों की अवधि में 73 से अधिक अंग्रेज़ी, हिंदी और उर्दू में पुस्तकें भी लिखीं। उन्हें आज भी उर्दू साहित्य की एक विलक्षण प्रतिभा माना जाता है। उनकी आत्मकथा ‘आई एम नॉट ऍन आयलैंड: ऍन एक्सपैरीमेंट इन ऑटो बायोग्राफ़ी’ पहली बार 1977 में प्रकाशित हुई और फिर 2010 में इसे पुनः प्रकाशित किया गया।

टेनिस का खेल उनके परिवार के लिए कोई नया नहीं है। महेश के पिता जी टेनिस के खिलाड़ी और डेविस कप टीम के सदस्य रह चके है।
लिएंडर और महेश भूपति की जोड़ी ने आठ ग्रैंड स्लैम टूर्नामेंटों में से सात के सेमीफाइनल में प्रवेश किया, फिर उसके बाद पेस की कही बात सच साबित हुई जब इस युगल जोड़ी ने 1999 के फ्रेंच व विंबलडन खिताब जीते। ग्रैंड स्लैम के पहले पड़ाव आस्ट्रेलियाई ओपन में भी वह फाइनल में कड़े संघर्ष में हारी।
