The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that Delhi-NCR will continue experiencing a “severe heatwave” for the next three days and has issued a red alert in the area until May 29. Delhi NCR has been witnessing extreme temperatures since late April. IMD’s data suggests that this year’s heat waves in April were far worse than last year’s, making it the warmest year on record.
देश के कई इलाकों में तापमान में लगातार बढ़ोतरी हो रही है. तेज गर्मी और हीट वेव की वजह से लोगों में स्वास्थ्य संबंधी खतरा बढ़ता जा रहा है. भीषण गर्मी में किन बीमारियों का खतरा रहता है और इनसे बचाव कैसे करें. बढ़ते तापमान की वजह से लोगों का घरों बाहर निकलना मुश्किल हो गया है. देश के कई इलाकों में इस वक्त तापमान 45 डिग्री के पास पहुंच चुका है कुछ जगहों पर तो इसके भी ऊपर पहुंच गया है. मौसम विभाग ने आने वाले दिनों में तापमान बढ़ने का अनुमान लगाया हैं .
गर्मी बढ़ने के कारण हीट वेव ने लोगों की चिंताए बढ़ा दी है.
Heatwaves are a period of unusually high temperatures as compared to what is normally expected over a region, according to IMD. Therefore, the temperatures at which heatwaves are declared differ from place to place based on the temperature climatology (historical temperatures) of that region. Supportive meteorological factors, such as high humidity, high wind speed, and the duration of heatwave events, aggravate the impact of heat waves. The threshold for a heatwave is met when the maximum temperature of a weather station reaches at least 40 degrees Celsius in the plains, 37 degrees in the coastal areas, and 30 degrees in the hilly regions, and the departure from normal is at least 4.5 notches.
राजस्थान के लोगों को भीषण गर्मी और गर्म हवाओं से निजात नहीं मिल रही है। कई जगहों पर तापमान ने नए रिकॉर्ड बनाए हैं। पिछले 24 घंटों में फलोदी में अधिकतम तापमान 49 दशमलव 8 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया।
देश के कई राज्यों में गर्मी का प्रकोप जारी है इसलिए बडी संख्या में सैलानी कश्मीर घाटी की ओर गर्मी से बचने के लिए पहुंच रहे हैं।
श्रीनगर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर भी बडी संख्या में पर्यटक पहुंच रहे हैं। यहां प्रतिदिन 95 से एक सौ से अधिक उड़ानें संचालित होती हैं। देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से आए पर्यटकों को श्रीनगर में विश्व प्रसिद्ध डल झील और उसके आस-पास के इलाकों की सुंदरता का आनंद लेते देखा जा सकता है।
श्रीनगर में डल झील और उत्तरी कश्मीर में गुलमर्ग की बर्फ से ढकी चोटियों को देखने बड़ी संख्या में सैलानी पहुंच रहे हैं।

मध्यप्रदेश में 5 जून पर्यावरण दिवस से गंगा दशमी पर्व तक जलस्रोतों के संरक्षण और पुनर्जीवन के लिए संपूर्ण प्रदेश में अभियान चलाया जाएगा। अभियान की अवधि में हर जिले में जल के स्रोतों, जैसे नदी, कुएं, तालाब, बावड़ियों आदि को स्वच्छ रखने और आवश्यकता होने पर उनके गहरीकरण के लिए गतिविधियां संचालित की जाएंगी।
मध्यप्रदेश में जल स्रोतों के संरक्षण का यह कार्य जनसहभागिता से होगा। इससे जल स्रोतों के प्रति सामाजिक चेतना जागृत करने और जनसामान्य का जल स्रोतों से जीवंत संबंध विकसित करने में मदद मिलेगी। शहरी और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में इस अभियान का नेतृत्व जनप्रतिनिधि करेंगे और जिला कलेक्टर गतिविधियों का समन्वय करेंगे। मुख्यमंत्री डॉ मोहन यादव ने एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में सभी सामाजिक, शासकीय, अशासकीय संस्थाओं, जन अभियान परिषद से जुड़े संगठनों से अभियान में शामिल होने का अनुरोध किया। उन्होंने कहा कि जन सहभागिता से जल संरचनाओं का चयन किया जाए और जल स्रोतों के संरक्षण के लिए सघन जनजाति के कार्यक्रम चलाए जाएं। अभियान के दौरान नदियों और तालाबों से गाद या खाद के रूप में निकलने वाली मिट्टी, किसानों को खेतों में उपयोग के लिए उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। जल संरचनाओं पर किये गये अतिक्रमणों को जिला प्रशासन द्वारा हटाया जाना सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा। प्रारंभिक रूप से यह अभियान 5 से 15 जून तक चलाया जाएगा। इसके बाद अभियान की अवधि बढ़ाई जा सकती है। नमामि गंगे परियोजना के नाम से आरंभ हो रहे जल स्रोतों के संरक्षण और पुनर्जीवन के इस विशेष अभियान के लिए ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में पंचायत एवं ग्रामीण विकास तथा नगरीय क्षेत्र में नगरीय विकास एवं आवास, नोडल विभाग होंगे। जल संरचनाओं के चयन और उन्नयन कार्य में जीआईएस तकनीक का उपयोग किया जाएगा। इन स्थलों की मोबाइल एप के माध्यम से जियो -टैगिंग की जाएगी। राज्य शासन द्वारा अमृत 2.0 योजना के तहत जल संरचनाओं के उन्नयन का कार्य सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता से कराने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। रिहायसी इलाकों में बंद पड़े रेन वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग सिस्टम की साफ-सफाई कर उनके पुन: उपयोग के लिए जागरूकता अभियान भी चलाया जाएगा।-परिक्रमा के लिए भोपाल से मैं संजीव शर्मा

Tourism Department of Government of Puducherry has established an Art and Craft Village in a serene environment on the outskirts of the Puducherry town at Murungapakkam village. It was started in the year of 2018 with the intention of bringing the local traditional artisans under one roof and providing support to them for making and selling their artefacts.
“In this village various traditional artisans are excelling their competence in 20 stalls. They are making artefacts from Coconut, Leather, Stone, Shell, Wood and paper. In addition to these, Terracotta, Tanjore Paintings, Glass paintings, Candle making, Pot making, mat from nut-grass, palm products, weaving and metal works are also in the list of stalls. All the stalls are manned by Master Craft persons. Three of them had received State Award of Kalaimamani and one has received Padmasri award. Padmasri V.K.Munusamy is maintaining the Terracotta stall and giving training to the school students in the weekends and school holidays. The visitors have a choice to look into a range of unique craft items made by the local artisans and can purchase the liked ones at affordable prices. If a visitor wants to get hand-on experience into the intricacies of craft making, she or he is allowed to sit along with the artisans and participate in the making process. Most of the visitors prefer to put their hands in the potter’s wheel. If anyone wants to learn any of the craft, then she or he is welcomed and allowed to get the training with the particular artisan. The trainee has to pay minimum amount to meet the expenses for the raw materials. College students as a group are regularly getting training in various crafts in this village. There is no age limit to get training in this village. While interacting with Shri Baskaran, Manager of the village informed that in weekdays nearly 1000 visitors are visiting the village and in weekends the footfall is raised to 2000. The village is open throughout the year from 10 am to 6 pm without any holidays. He further informed that a digital museum would be opened soon. A Franco Tamil Village as a part of the Art and Culture Village which exhibits the architectural style of Tamil and French would be opened soon and will provide accommodation for the visitors to stay a night inside the village. The Art and Craft Village is gaining popular gradually. Honourable President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu has paid a visit to this village last August. The sales of various craft items are picking up and agencies and governments have placed bulk orders. The local people has now realised the importance of the village and started to visit in groups with all family members. This Art and Crafts Village is now an icon of Puducherry. Preparations are on for last phase election to be held on 1st June while voting completed in 15 Lok Sabha seats and 105 assembly segments in Odisha successfully. 74.45 percent polling recorded in the 3rd phase election on 25 May.
With voting completed in 15 Lok Sabha seats and 105 assembly segments in Odisha, both the ruling BJD and the opposition BJP have claimed they will secure an absolute majority to form the government. A day after Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik asserted that his party would provide a ‘very stable’ government, former BJP state president and senior leader KV Singh Deo, during a press conference on Sunday, claimed that the saffron party would form the government with a two-thirds majority. Odisha is conducting simultaneous polls for its 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 assembly segments across four phases. Voting for the first three phases is complete, with the final phase scheduled for June 1. While the third phase of the election was held in the state on 25th, its final voter turnout has been revealed. A total of 74.45 percent polling was held in the 6 Lok Sabha seats and 42. Assembly seats under it in the third phase. In the last general election of 2019, there was 71.36 per cent voter turnout in the above seat. In business news today –
India’s benchmark stock indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 jumped to hit new all-time highs today, propelled by domestic reasons such as the hope for favourable election results, and international factors such as low crude oil prices and global market optimism.
The Nifty 50 peaked at an intra-day high of 23,110, while the Sensex surged to 76,009. The gains were led by the strong performances in banking and IT stocks.
Though the indices ended on a flat note in the volatile session, after hitting record highs in the early part of the session. At close, the Sensex was down 19 points or 0.03 percent at 75,390, and the Nifty was also down 24 points or 0.11 percent at 22,932.
In the forex market, the rupee ended at 83 rupees and 13 paise against the US dollar.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold futures for June contracts were trading at 71,678 rupees per ten grams. Silver futures for July contracts were trading at 92,024 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.
And… In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 82 dollars and 30 cents per barrel.

तेलुगु के प्रसिद्ध विद्वान कंदुकूरी वीरेशलिंगम की आज पुण्यतिथि है। उन्हें आधुनिक तेलुगु साहित्य में ‘गद्य ब्रह्मा’ के नाम से प्रसिद्धि मिली। सनातनपंथी ब्राह्मण परिवार में जन्मे वीरेशलिंगम जाति-पांति के कट्टर विरोधी थे। उन्होंने जाति विरोध आंदोलन का सूत्रपात किया। उन्होंने विधवा आश्रमों की स्थापना की। आधुनिक तेलुगु गद्य साहित्य के प्रवर्तक वीरेशलिंगम ने प्रथम उपन्यासकार, प्रथम नाटककार और आधुनिक पत्रकारिता के प्रवर्तक के रूप मे ख्याति अर्जित की थी।

मराठी लेखक लक्ष्मण शास्त्री जोशी की आज पुण्यतिथि है। वह वैदिक विद्वान, संस्कृतवादी तथा जाने-माने विचारक थे। सन 1954 में उन्होंने नई दिल्ली में आयोजित मराठी साहित्य सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता की। 1955 में उन्हें उनकी कृति ‘वैदिक संस्कृति-चा विकास’ के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार मिला। उन्हें ‘तर्कतीर्थ’ (तर्क का मास्टर) की उपाधि दी गई थी।
पुरस्कार-उपाधि – पद्म विभूषण, साहित्य अकादमी फ़ैलोशिप, पद्म भूषण, साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार मराठी ।

ओट्टपलाक्कल नीलकंठन वेलु कुरुप
प्रसिद्ध मलयाली कवि और गीतकार ओट्टपलाक्कल नीलकंठन वेलु कुरुप की आज जयंती है। साहित्य में बहुमूल्य योगदान के लिये वर्ष 2007 में उन्हें ‘ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया था। ओ. एन. वी. कुरुप के नाम से अधिक जाने जाते थे। वर्ष 1998 में उन्हें ‘पद्म श्री’ तथा 2011 में ‘पद्म विभूषण’ से सम्मानित किया गया। ओ. एन. वी. कुरुप को वर्ष 1989 में फिल्म ‘वैशाली’ के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीतकार का ‘राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार’ भी मिला।
उनके 20 कविता संग्रह, आलोचना की एक किताब, बाल साहित्य पर एक किताब एवं कार्ल मार्क्स की कविताओं का अनुवाद प्रकाशित हो चुका है।
‘अग्निशलबंगल’ के लिए ओ. एन. वी. कुरुप को ‘केरल साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार’ , ‘अक्षरम’ के लिए ‘केंद्रीय साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार’, ‘उप्पु’ (नमक) के लिए ‘वयलार पुरस्कार’ और ‘सोवियत लैंड नेहरू पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया। गीतकार के रूप में ओ. एन. वी. कुरुप 13 बार ‘केरल राज्य फिल्म पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित हुये।
