On Mahalaya, artisans performed Chokku Daan, the ritual of painting Maa Durga’s eyes. In Durga puja festivities each day carries its own cultural and spiritual significance. On Shashthi, the idol of the goddess is unveiled and rituals of welcome are performed. On Saptami, the Nabapatrika Snan takes place, where nine symbolic plants are bathed and placed beside the goddess’s idol.

Dasara celebrations in Mysore commences today. The world famous Mysuru Dasara festival was inaugurated by Booker prize winning Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq today.
“The City of Palaces, Mysuru is decked up for the 11 day Dasara Festival. It depicts Karnataka’s rich heritage, culture and traditions, coupled with royal splendour and glory. The city of Palaces Mysuru is decked up for the special festive occasion. The city streets and heritage buildings including the palaces are illuminated with lights and decorated with flowers. Celebrated in the tradition of Navaratri festival since 1610 by the Mysore Wadeyar rulers, it is today celebrated as Nada Habba or State festival. Attired in Mysore silk saree with Mysuru jasmine in the hair, the international Booker prize winning Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq offered flowers to the idol of goddess Chamundeshwari at Chamundeshwari temple atop the Chamundi hills in Mysuru to signal the beginning of Dasara festival. Cultural and classical performers from across the country come down to Mysuru during Dasara and enthrall the audience with traditional dance, music and other art forms. Wrestling matches are also organised on this occasion. The 11 days festival will conclude with a grand Jambu Savari procession on October 2nd when on Vijayadashmi, Dasara elephant Abhimanyu will carry the golden howdah with goddess Chamundeshwar in it. ” जीएसटी सुधारों के अंतर्गत सरकार ने विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में करों में बड़ी कटौती कर आम आदमी को राहत दी है। सरकार ने 7,500 रुपये प्रतिदिन से कम किराए वाले होटल में जीएसटी को 12 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 5 प्रतिशत कर दिया है। इससे मध्यम वर्गीय परिवारों और यात्रियों के लिए यात्रा अधिक किफायती हो जाएगी और इसके साथ ही मध्यम श्रेणी के होटलों, होमस्टे और गेस्टहाउस में भी नए निवेश को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। इन सुधारों में कला और सांस्कृतिक सामग्रियों पर भी जीएसटी को 12 प्रतिशत से घटा कर 5 प्रतिशत किया गया है। छोटी मूर्तियों, मूल नक्काशियों, प्रिंट, शिलामुद्रण, जेवराती वस्तुओं, प्रस्तर कला के सामान आदि पर लगने वाले जीएसटी को पांच प्रतिशत कर दिया गया है। इससे वैश्विक स्तर पर भारतीय संस्कृति और शिल्पकारी को बढ़ावा मिलेगा तथा विरासत अर्थव्यवस्था को आधुनिक बाजारों से जोड़ा जा सकेगा। छात्रों और परिवारों को ध्यान में रखते हुए सरकार ने स्टेशनरी वस्तुएं जैसे नोटबुक, ग्राफ बुक, शार्पनर और पेंसिल को शून्य-कर श्रेणी में ला दिया है, जिससे वे और अधिक किफायती हो गई हैं। मीडिया से बात करते हुए, एक शोधार्थी, इंदुचूडन ने नए जीएसटी सुधारों का स्वागत किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि त्योहारों के मौसम से पहले यह कदम आम आदमी के लिए एक तोहफ़ा है। जीएसटी में कटौती से आम लोगों, खासकर मध्यम वर्ग पर आर्थिक बोझ कम होगा और उनकी बचत में इज़ाफ़ा होगा। दृष्टि और शिवांग के साथ, सक़लैन अख्तर आकाशवाणी समाचार, दिल्ली।”

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently flagged off the first dedicated Parcel Train from Budgam in Kashmir valley to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi. The parcel services will significantly reduce transit time and increase income opportunities for thousands of farmers and boost the agricultural economy of the region. Meanwhile, the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) witnessed a historic milestone with the successful run of Freight Train, the first exclusive freight train of the Indian Army, from BD Bari to Anantnag on 12–13 September. The train carried 753 metric tonnes of Advance Winter Stocking loads for Army units and formations in J&K, marking a decisive turning point in the Army’s Advance Winter Stocking modus operandi.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering a new era of trade and business for apple growers and traders of Kashmir valley. He also congratulated the Indian Railways for dedicated freight train service between Budgam and New Delhi. The LG said that parcel train service from Kashmir to New Delhi will give a major boost to the economy and the start of a daily time-table train carrying horticulture produce to the National Capital is a major relief for fruit growers. The new freight train service is a big step for the apple growers of J&K to transport their produce to different parts of the country. This will provide a faster and more economical transportation mode, strengthen market linkages and bring improvement in the lives and livelihoods of farmers. The eight-Parcel-Van Coach Train Service will be operational on all days and is suitable for all parcel commodities. It has a total weight capacity of around 180 tonnes (23 tonnes each coach). The booking for full parcel vans is available in online mode, while smaller consignments can also be booked through off-line mode. The Freight train departing from Budgam at 6:15 AM, will make a stop at Bari Brahmana Jammu from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and will arrive at Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi at 5:30 AM next day. However, the strategic initiative of exclusive freight train of the Indian Army underscores the Army’s ongoing capability development efforts to ensure operational preparedness in challenging Himalayan terrain. In a unique demonstration of dual-use logistics and military–civil fusion, the return rake of the Freight Train will transport Kashmiri apples to markets in Rest of India. हम याद कर रहे हैं, मराठी और हिंदी फिल्मों की मशहूर अभिनेत्रियों में से एक आशालता वाबगांवकर को। उन्होंने कई फिल्मों में अपने शानदार अभिनय से बड़े पर्दे पर अमिट छाप थोड़ी थी। दूरदर्शन पर अपने कई सीरियलों से घर-घर पहचान बनाई थी। उन्हें मूल रूप से आशालता के नाम से जाना जाता था। वह गोवा की रहने वाली थीं और गोवा हिंदू एसोसियेशन से जुड़ी थीं। उन्होंने सबसे पहले कोंकणी और मराठी नाटकों में अभिनय करना शुरू किया था। कई शानदार हिंदी फिल्में भी की थीं, उनकी पहली बॉलीवुड फिल्म ‘जंजीर’ थी। इस फिल्म में आशालता ने अमिताभ बच्चन की सौतेली मां का किरदार किया था। उन्होंने 100 से ज्यादा फिल्मों में काम किया। अभिनय के साथ ही उन्होंने मराठी और कोंकणी फिल्मों के लिए गाने भी गाए थे।

He wrote historical fiction like Kaler Mandira, Gourmollar (initially named as Mouri Nodir Teere), Tumi Sandhyar Megh, Tungabhadrar Teere, Chuya-Chandan, Maru O Sangha (later made into a Hindi film named Trishagni), Sadashib series and stories of the unnatural with the recurring character Baroda.
