Now, time for our segment Dateline India, in which we take a look at the developments taking place at the national or global level. Today, we will talk about :-‘PM visit in North East India and World Athletics Championships.
DATELINE 1
Today, we’re bringing you exciting updates from Manipur and Mizoram – two jewels of India’s Northeast – where development is surging ahead, and heritage is shining brighter than ever. Let’s begin our journey in the beautiful land of Manipur, often called the ‘Jewel of India’. Today, Churachandpur saw a historic moment as Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over 7,300 crore rupees! From urban roadways and drainage systems to national highways and IT hubs, the projects promise a brighter future.”*
And now, to the lush green hills of Mizoram – where development has reached a new milestone. In a virtual event from Aizawl, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated projects worth over 9,000 crore rupees. The highlight? The Bairabi-Sairang railway line – connecting Mizoram’s capital to the Indian Railways network for the very first time! Imagine – a landlocked hill state now just one Rajdhani Express away from Delhi! A game-changer for farmers, students, and entrepreneurs alike. With this, Mizoram is not just on the map – it’s on the move. But beyond the tracks and trains, lies the heart of Mizoram – its culture. The **Cheraw dance**, also called the Bamboo Dance, is a visual poetry in motion – women in colorful costumes dancing between clapping bamboo sticks. And did you know that Mizoram is one of the most literate states in India? Education and elegance go hand in hand here.
From express trains and economic corridors to women’s hostels and bridges over mighty rivers – the infrastructure is transforming. But the soul of the Northeast lies in its cultural wealth.”Whether it’s Manipur’s festivals like Lai Haraoba, celebrating the creation of the universe, or Mizoram’s Chapchar Kut – a spring festival of joy and dance – every step forward echoes with music from the past.
DATELINE 2
And we’ve got some electrifying news from the world of athletics!”

The nine-day athletic extravaganza will witness top-tier action across the track and field, with India fielding a 19-member squad – 14 men and 5 women – competing in 15 events.
So who is leading the charge?

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the program and called upon the youth to recognize their responsibility in shaping the nation’s future. “The strength, creativity, and leadership of young people are vital in driving governance, social progress, and economic growth,” he said. Stressing the need to nurture young talent, he added that society must not only provide education but also create avenues for skill development, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement to enable youth to reach their full potential. The Chief Minister also praised the Scouts and Guides movement for instilling discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of service in young minds. He recalled their invaluable contribution during natural disasters and emergencies, saying their willingness to serve communities in times of need reflects values that go far beyond uniforms and drills. The camp has been designed to go beyond routine scouting activities. Along with physical training and drills, the participants will be exposed to interactive sessions, cultural exchanges, and leadership-building exercises. The program is expected to foster respect for cultural diversity and promote national integration by bringing together young people from different regions, languages, and traditions to work toward common goals. Youth and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, State Scouts and Guides Director L. Darlong, and several other dignitaries attended the inauguration ceremony. However, the spotlight remained firmly on the Scouts and Guides themselves, whose enthusiasm, discipline, and camaraderie throughout the day underscored the purpose of the program. As the camp progresses over the next five days, it will stand as a reminder that the country’s youth are not only the hope of tomorrow but also an active driving force in the progress of today.
