Unrelenting rains piled misery on north India, reeling under serial cloudbursts and floods for the past few weeks, as swollen rivers inundated the plains, crippled rails and road traffic, and forced school closures. And there is no respite in sight. Under the threat of more rain that can trigger yet another series of disasters, pilgrimages to many Himalayan shrines have been suspended. People have been asked to maintain extreme caution.’
The situation in Punjab, battling its worst floods since 1988, remained precarious as the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers and seasonal rivulets remained swollen due to heavy rains in their upstream. Twelve districts have been hit by the floods that have already claimed 30 lives, besides impacting more than 3.5 lakh people. All 23 districts of the state have been declared as hit by the floods. A total of one thousand four hundred (1,400) villages has been declared as affected, impacting three lakh fifty-four thousand and six hundred twenty-six (3,54,626) people so far. Pathankot has reported the highest death toll of six.

वहीं, यमुना नदी आज सुबह खतरे के निशान को पार कर गई। पिछले कुछ दिनों से राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में लगातार मध्यम से भारी बारिश के कारण जलस्तर बढ़ रहा है। जलस्तर 206.8 मीटर तक पहुँच गया है। एहतियात के तौर पर, आस-पास के निचले इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुँचा दिया गया है। पुराने रेलवे पुल को परिचालन के लिए बंद कर दिया गया है।
मंत्री प्रवेश वर्मा ने आज सुबह आईटीओ बैराज का दौरा कर स्थिति का जायजा लिया। पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए, श्री वर्मा ने कहा कि घबराने की कोई ज़रूरत नहीं है क्योंकि स्थिति नियंत्रण में है। यमुना नदी के किनारे एनडीआरएफ की चार टीमें तैनात की गई हैं। मीडिया से बात करते हुए, एनडीआरएफ के कमांडेंट ज्ञानेश्वर सिंह ने बताया कि निचले इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुँचा दिया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि एनडीआरएफ की 14 से 18 टीमें तैयार हैं।
The monsoon rains continued to lash Himachal Pradesh, affecting normal life. Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in Kangra, Chamba, Mandi, and Kullu districts today. According to the Meteorological Department, the state has so far received 42 percent more rainfall than normal during this monsoon season. Incidents of landslides are being reported from various places due to the continuous rainfall in the state. In the Jungam Bagh area of Sundernagar subdivision in Mandi district, debris suddenly came down from a hill last evening, burying two houses, in which five people lost their lives. In Chamba, the Ravi river has crossed the danger mark. Its strong flow has damaged the retaining wall of the Sheetla bridge, and a large part of the road has been washed away into the river. In many parts of the state, four national highways and 1,334 roads are blocked due to landslides. In view of the weather department’s warning, educational institutions have been closed today in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Solan, and Shimla districts.
वहीं, जम्मू-कश्मीर की बात करे तो, जम्मू के विभिन्न हिस्सों में कल देर रात से हो रही भारी बारिश ने तबाही मचा दी है और जलभराव ने यातायात जाम और दैनिक यात्रियों के लिए मुश्किलें खड़ी कर दी हैं। चिनाब, तवी, रावी और उझ सहित जम्मू क्षेत्र की सभी प्रमुख नदियाँ खतरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही हैं। मौसम विभाग ने जम्मू क्षेत्र के कई जिलों में आज दोपहर तक भारी बारिश का अनुमान जताया है। लगातार भारी बारिश के कारण जम्मू-श्रीनगर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर यातायात भी बाधित हुआ है। स्थानीय मौसम विज्ञान केंद्र ने ताज़ा मौसम पूर्वानुमान जारी करते हुए केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के कुछ हिस्सों, खासकर जम्मू संभाग और दक्षिण कश्मीर के जिलों में भारी से बहुत भारी बारिश की चेतावनी दी है।

Meanwhile, in the eastern part of the country, normal life across Odisha was thrown out of gear as heavy showers continued since Monday night, while the formation of a fresh low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has activated rainfall activities, IMD said.The weather agency said the state will get more rain in the next four days. As the sea condition is very likely to be rough on Wednesday, the IMD has cautioned fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast till September 3. The fresh low-pressure area, which is the third of its kind in a span of 20 days, has caused severe rainfall across the State.
The India Meterological Department has issued a red alert for Jammu and Kashmir, Leh and Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Odisha for today. The met department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in these states today. The met department has also predicted moderate rainfall over Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, coastal Odisha, coastal Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka and Andaman Islands.

Since 2014, she has been working at John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema, where she has been living her vision of ‘Education with Empathy, Leadership with Purpose,’ creating an environment where learning extends beyond the textbooks. One of her standout initiatives, ‘Each One Teach One,’ embodies her belief that teaching is not just about knowledge, but about empowering others. In this initiative, Ms. Peleno engages 12th-grade students to mentor younger learners, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. This simple yet powerful concept has resulted in a ripple effect, where mentoring one student creates a chain of learning, empathy, and leadership. Ms. Peleno is known for her efforts to reduce student dropouts, often making home visits, sponsoring admission fees, and even providing mobile phones to underprivileged learners to ensure they don’t miss out on education. “तकनीक को प्राकृतिक खेती के साथ जोड़ने पर बहोत सारे अच्छे परिणाम प्राप्त किए जा सकते हैं इसका एक उदाहरण गूजरात के बडौदा के किसान संजय पटेल के काम से जान सकते है। वाघोडिया तालुका के कोटंबी गाँव में रहने वाले इस किसान ने 22 बीघां ज़मीन पर गौ-आधारित प्राकृतिक खेती को आधुनिक तकनीक, खासकर “IoT यानी इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स” के साथ जोड़कर एक अनूठा मॉडल तैयार किया और प्राकृतिक खेती में आधुनिक तकनीक का भी समुचित उपयोग किया है। IoT-आधारित प्रणालि के माध्यम से खेत में तापमान, हवा की गति, वर्षा, कोहरा और मिट्टी की नमी जैसे मापदंडों की सटीक निगरानी की जाती है। मॉबाइल एप्लिकेशन के माध्यम से, वह पानी की आवश्यकता से लेकर हर प्रक्रिया को आसानी से नियंत्रित कर सकते हैं। इस पद्धति से उन्हें उपज की गुणवत्ता और उत्पादकता, दोनों में वृद्धि मिली है। परिणाम स्वरूप, आज वे सब्ज़ियाँ बेचकर हर साल चार से पाँच लाख रुपये की आय प्राप्त कर रहे हैं। और अन्य किसानों के लिए भी प्रेरणा बन गए हैं। परिक्रमा के लिए अहमदाबाद से में प्रवेश अडिएचा।”

Usha kothi is a hidden gem in western Odisha, located in the Sambalpur district. It is known for its natural beauty, rich history, and cultural value. Although not very famous, it is an excellent destination for tourists and history enthusiasts who want to discover something new. More from our Sambalpur correspondent:
“The Usha kothi Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Badarama Sanctuary, was established in 1962. It covers around 285 square kilometers. The sanctuary is home to a diverse array of animals, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and various bird species. Two rivers, the Penganga and the Wardha (also known as Vashishtha), flow through it, helping keep the forest alive and green. The area is also rich in history. There are over 600 rock shelters with old carvings and paintings in the Ushakothi-1 area and 67 more in Ushakothi-2. Experts believe these artefacts date back to prehistoric times and reveal how people lived long ago. One of the main attractions is the Ushakothi Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. Locals believe that the Pandavas from the Mahabharata lived in this forest during their 12-year exile. Ushakothi has excellent potential to grow into a popular tourist destination. The government and some NGOs are collaborating to develop the area while preserving the forest. Recently, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the place with local officials. In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading up at 1,06,470 rupees per 10 grams, while silver 999 fine was trading down at 1,24,290 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.

आज पंडित किशन महाराज का जन्मदिन है। पंडित किशन महाराज बनारस घराने के एक विश्व-प्रसिद्ध तबला वादक थे। उनकी तबला वादन शैली, जिसमें वाम हाथ (बायां हाथ) के उपयोग पर विशेष जोर था, ‘गंभीर’ शैली कहलाती है। किशन महाराज को भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत में उनके असाधारण योगदान के लिए पद्मश्री (1973) और पद्म विभूषण (2002) जैसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों से नवाजा गया था।
