The ninth edition of Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards were conferred by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi today.
Speaking during the Awards ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu highlighted that cleanliness is one of the most important aspect of Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and urged countrymen to move forward in making the country clean, healthy and developed.
She emphasized that cleanliness has been a core element of the country’s cultural and spiritual consciousness since ancient times.

In the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards, Indore once again retained its title as India’s cleanest city for the eighth consecutive year. Surat secured the second position, while Navi Mumbai ranked third in the central government’s annual cleanliness survey.

` झारखंड में साइबर अपराध पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए अनोखी पहल की जा रही है। साइबर अपराध के लिए कुख्यात जामताड़ा जिले के 72 विद्यालयों में साइबर सिक्योरिटी क्लब की स्थापना की जा रही है। आइये इस विषय पर हमारे संवाददाता से अधिक जानकारी प्राप्त करें।

These things are now historical and people should know about the journey of the central railway through old storages. Therefore; central railway organised an exhibition at six identified stations under the Mumbai division for celebrations of Station Mahotsavs. These are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Reay Road, Asangaon, Vasind, Kasara and Igatpuri stations.All these six stations are beautifully decorated.
The Celebrations featured a Heritage exhibition at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus wherein various artefacts belonging to the GIPR means Great Indian Peninsula Railway era were displayed.
In the exhibition a miniature replica of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus heritage building with colour lighting was displayed along with miniature models of Steam Locomotives, Wooden Coaches of the GIPR era.
The other displays included Brass bells, Brass badges of Railway workers, Old Lamp Posts, Heritage wooden chairs, Coat & Umbrella stand, Heritage Pendulam Clocks etc of the GIPR era reminding the visitors of the golden era. The old Big Iron Box which is used for Railway Cash earnings is also exhibited. Hand Signal Lamps and Ball & Token Machine once used at Stations were also displayed.
In addition to the Old, the exhibition also displayed a model of the Vande Bharat Trains in service presently and a model of the Bullet Train expected to be operational in the near future. Domestic stock markets, Sensex and the Nifty 50, closed with a negative bias after a cautious and volatile session. This reflected investor apprehension amid mixed global cues and corporate earnings concerns. At close, the Sensex was down 375 points or 0.45 percent at 82,259 and the Nifty was down nearly 100 points or 0.40 percent at 25,111.
However, the broader market at BSE showed a slight uptick. The Mid-Cap index ended 0.07 percent up and the Small-Cap index rose 0.30 percent.
In the global crude market, Brent Crude was trading with gains at 68 dollars and 79 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was also up trading at 66 dollars and 80 cents per barrel, when reports last came in.
In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading down at 97,740 rupees per 10 grams. However, silver 999 fine was also trading down at 1,11,600 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.

Billie Holiday (born Eleanora Fagan; April 7, 1915 – July 17, 1959) The American jazz and swing music singer. Nicknamed “Lady Day” by her friend and music partner, Lester Young, Holiday made significant contributions to jazz music and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly influenced by jazz instrumentalists, inspired a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. Holiday was known for her vocal delivery and improvisational skills.
After a turbulent childhood, Holiday began singing in nightclubs in Harlem where she was heard by producer John Hammond, who liked her voice. Holiday signed a recording contract with Brunswick in 1935. Her collaboration with Teddy Wilson produced the hit “What a Little Moonlight Can Do”, which became a jazz standard. Throughout the 1930s and 1940s, She was a successful concert performer throughout the 1950s, with two further sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall.
Holiday won four Grammy Awards, all of them posthumously, for Best Historical Album. She was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame. आज भारत की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री, गायिका और फ़िल्म निर्माता कानन देवी की पुण्यतिथि है। उनका मूल नाम ‘कानन बाला’ था। भारतीय सिनेमा जगत् में कानन देवी का नाम एक ऐसी शख्सियत के तौर पर याद किया जाता है, जिन्होंने न केवल फ़िल्म निर्माण की विधा बल्कि अभिनय और पार्श्वगायन से भी दर्शकों के बीच अपनी ख़ास पहचान बनाई थी। बगैर प्रशिक्षण हासिल किए कानन ने गायन की दुनिया में प्रवेश किया और अभिनय के क्षेत्र में भी अपनी पहचान बनाई।
वे जव सिर्फ 10 वर्ष की थीं, तब उन्हें ‘ज्योति स्टूडियो’ द्वारा निर्मित फ़िल्म ‘जयदेव’ में काम करने का अवसर मिला। वर्ष 1934 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘माँ’ बतौर अभिनेत्री कानन देवी के सिने कैरियर की पहली हिट फ़िल्म साबित हुई। वर्ष 1937 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘मुक्ति’ बतौर अभिनेत्री कानन देवी के सिने करियर की सुपर हिट फ़िल्म साबित हुई।

आज भारतीय संगीत जगत के मनीषी लालमणि मिश्र की पुण्यतिथि है। वे अपनी कला के समान ही अपनी विद्वता के लिए भी जाने जाते थे। बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी डॉ. लालमणि मिश्र ने पटियाला के उस्ताद अब्दुल अज़ीज़ ख़ाँ को सुनकर गुप्त रूप से विचित्र वीणा हेतु वादन तकनीक विकसित करने के साथ-साथ भारतीय संगीत वाद्यों के इतिहास तथा विकास क्रम पर अनुसन्धान किया। वैदिक संगीत पर शोध करते हुए उन्होंने सामिक स्वर व्यवस्था का रहस्य सुलझाया। सामवेद के इन प्राप्त स्वरों को संरक्षित करने के लिए उन्होंने ‘राग सामेश्वरी’ का निर्माण किया। भरत मुनि द्वारा विधान की गयी बाईस श्रुतिओं को मानव इतिहास में पहली बार डॉ. मिश्र द्वारा निर्मित वाद्य यंत्र श्रुति-वीणा पर एक साथ सुनना सम्भव हुआ।

Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (17 July 1943 – 14 December 1971) was an officer of the Indian Air Force. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration during war time, in recognition of his lone defence of Srinagar Air Base against a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) air raid during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He is the only member of the Indian Air Force to be honoured with the PVC.

After receiving negative feedback about her appearance from film producer Raj Kapoor, Wahab worked on her appearance and attended film parties and events. She eventually got noticed and was cast in films. She was usually cast as the middle-class girl after her first leading role in Basu Chatterjee’s Chit Chor (1976) in movies like Agar, Jazbaat, Sawan Ko Aane Do, and Raees Zada. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category for Gharonda (1977). She has acted in many Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, films. Wahab made a comeback to Malayalam films with Calendar, in 2009 citation needed and has continued to act in Malayalam movies. She is still remembered for her role in the critically acclaimed Adaminte Makan Abu. citation needed She also appeared in My Name Is Khan as the mother of Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan’s character). Wahab currently plays older roles in television serials.

Sachin Bhowmick (17 July 1930– 12 April 2011) was an Indian Hindi film writer and director. Writing was his main work and he wrote stories or screenplays for over 94 films. He is best remembered for directing the light romantic black comedy classic Raja Rani (1973). He was also a regular contributor to Ultorath, a Bengali magazine on cinema. Due to the Bengali pronunciation of his surname Bhaumick we will find his surname spelled as Bhowmick in numerous sites.
His name served as the inspiration for an eponymous character played by Kharaj Mukherjee in the 2018 romance Dhadak.

1970s
In the 1970s he had successes including Pehchan (1970), Aan Milo Sajna (1970), Caravan (1971), Be-Imaan (1972) Dost (1974), Khel Khel Mein (1975), Hum Kisise Kum Naheen (1977), Gol Maal (1979).
1980s
His films in the 1980s include Karz (1980), Do Aur Do Paanch (1980), Bemisal (1982), Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai (1981), Nastik (1983), Andar Baahar (1984), Saaheb (1985) and Karma (1986). He also co-wrote the Tamil comedy movie Thillu Mullu (1981), a remake of his own film Gol Maal.
1990s
He continued in the 1990s with hits including Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Koyla (1997), Soldier (1998), Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999) and Taal (1999) and Keemat -They are back (1998).
2000s
In the 2000s, he has continued with the hits Koi Mil Gaya, Kisna and Krrish (2006).
Direction
He directed only one film, starring Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore Raja Rani in 1973, which was also written by him. The film was box office hit and adjusting for inflation as of 2014, its business in 1973 would be equivalent to 100 crores in 2014.
