In an age where screens often substitute for real-world experience, sixty spirited Naval Wing cadets of the National Cadet Corps from Puducherry looked beyond, toward the horizon. With wind in their sails and determination in their hearts, they embarked on a ten-day sea sailing expedition along the eastern coastline of India from Puducherry to Karaikal and back. Titled Sagar Sangram, the voyage covered 302 kilometers, building maritime skills, leadership, and teamwork among the cadets. On their return, the cadets were warmly welcomed by Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, who interacted with them and lauded their discipline and team spirit.

“Flagged off on June 11 by Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy at the Thengaithittu fishing harbour, the Sagar Sangram expedition took 60 cadets – 25 girls and 35 boys – across the coastal waters of Tamil Nadu, with halts at Cuddalore, Parangipettai, and Poompuhar. Sailing in three boats and guided by three naval officers and two NCC associate officers, the young cadets endured long hours at sea, gaining firsthand knowledge of navigation, coordination, and resilience. But this wasn’t just about braving the ocean. Along the way, the cadets organised social service activities at selected coastal towns – from blood donation camps to sapling plantation and cleanliness drives – spreading awareness and civic responsibility as they went. On their return, the Lieutenant Governor commended the cadets for their discipline and courage, taking time to engage them in conversation about their experience at sea. He also visited a special photo exhibition at the port that visually chronicled the expedition – from their sailing route and onboard training sessions to the service activities and snapshots of life on deck. Organised by the NCC Directorate, the expedition forms part of a broader effort to instill a spirit of adventure, patriotism, and social responsibility in India’s youth. छत्तीसगढ़ के माओवाद प्रभावित दंतेवाड़ा जिले में खेतों और जंगलों से मिलने वाली उपज को लंबे समय तक सुरक्षित रखने और किसानों को उनकी मेहनत का वाजिब दाम दिलाने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री किसान संपदा योजना के तहत एक नई पहल की शुरुआत होने जा रही है। और ब्यौरा दे रहे हैं, हमारे रायपुर संवाददाता विकल्प शुक्ला।

“छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर संभाग में स्थित दंतेवाड़ा जिले के पातररास गांव में केन्द्र और राज्य सरकार के सहयोग से एक ऐसा आधुनिक केंद्र बनाया जा रहा है, जहां कोल्ड स्टोरेज, खाद्यान्न और वनोपज को खराब होने से बचाने के लिए रेडिएशन जैसी तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। पूरे देश में सरकारी स्तर पर बनने वाली अपनी तरह की यह पहली सुविधा है। बस्तर क्षेत्र में इमली, महुआ, जंगली आम, देशी मसाले, मोटे अनाज और बाजरा जैसी उपज बहुतायत मात्रा में होती है। लेकिन, वर्तमान में इन उत्पादों को सही तरीके से संरक्षित रखने और बेचने की सुविधा नहीं होने के कारण हर साल सात से बीस प्रतिशत उपज खराब हो जाती है। अब कोल्ड स्टोरेज, फ्रीजर, रेडिएशन मशीन और सामान पहुंचाने के लिए बड़े ट्रक उपलब्ध होंगे, जिससे उत्पादों को लंबे समय तक सुरक्षित रखा जा सकेगा। साथ ही किसानों को उनकी उपज का सही मूल्य मिल सकेगा। पच्चीस करोड़ रूपये की लागत से स्थापित होने वाली इस परियोजना का संचालन जिला परियोजना आजीविका कॉलेज सोसायटी द्वारा किया जाएगा। इस संस्था की स्थापना विशेष रूप से आदिवासी इलाकों में रोजगार बढ़ाने के लिए की गई है। यह सुविधा हर साल दस हजार मीट्रिक टन से ज्यादा उपज को सुरक्षित रखने में मददगार साबित होगी और इसका फायदा दंतेवाड़ा सहित बस्तर, बीजापुर, सुकमा, कोंडागांव और नारायणपुर जिले के किसानों तथा वनोपज संग्राहकों को मिलेगा। इससे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रोजगार के अवसर बढ़ेंगे और स्थानीय लोगों को गांव में ही रोजगार मिल सकेगा। परिक्रमा के लिए आकाशवाणी रायपुर से मैं विकल्प शुक्ला।”

The Paudi Bhuyan tribe of Odisha has created a special identity for themself by protecting nature. They have built side dams to stop the Soil from decaying in the stream ﬂowing through the forest. Due to the dam, soil decay in the forest stops and water is also conserved. As a result, they are using this water for various agricultural purposes.

“Paudi Bhuyan tribe lives in Saida, Kaliapal, Gursong gram panchayat under the Barkote block of Deogarh district of western Odisha. This hill tribe depends entirely on nature. The forests, rivers, streams and soil are everything for them. So they have taken various measures to protect it. A different measure has been taken especially to prevent the decay of Soil. A stream ﬂows through Kaliapani Panchayat. This stream was regularly eroding the soil of the hills. Therefore, the Paudi Bhuyan community came together to protect it. Bideshi Dehuri, a Paudi Bhuyan tribal of the Pacheripani village of Kaliapani Panchayat, said that there is more water in the stream on rainy days. Because of this, the soil of the hill is eroded. To prevent soil erosion stones were placed on the bank of the stream. Later, dams were built every 10 meters of the stream using the hill stones, this has been practised by them since ancient times. But now, they completely preserve the water with the help of the Deogarh Forest Department. The Barkote forest oﬃcer said, “For less than 10 years, dams have been built in the course of the water ﬂow.” Earlier it was made by the Paudi Bhuyan tribe. आज पुण्यतिथि है जगन्नाथदास ‘रत्नाकर की। वे भारत के प्रसिद्ध कवियों में से एक थे। उन्हें आधुनिक युग के श्रेष्ठ ब्रजभाषा के कवियों में गिना जाता है। कवि जगन्नाथदास ’रत्नाकर‘ आधुनिक हिंदी साहित्य में अनुभूतियों के सशक्त चित्रकार, ब्रजभाषा के समर्थ कवि और एक अद्वितीय भाष्यकार के रूप में विख्यात हैं। उनकी मुख्य रचनाएँ हैं ‘गंगावतरण’, ‘श्रृंगारलहरी’, ‘गंगालहरी’, ‘विष्णुलहरी आदि।

Puthan Veetil Narayanan Nair, fondly called and popularly known by his pen name Pavanan who was born on 26 October 1925 and died on 22 June 2006, was a well-known rationalist, literary critic and left wing political activist from Kerala, India. He was also a well-accomplished author and journalist, who had won the Kerala Sahithya Akademi Award in 1965 and the Soviet Land Nehru Award in 1979. He was the secretary of the Kerala Sahithya Academy (1977-84) and the General Secretary of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists, and a member of Kerala Kalamandalam and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. Pavanan was the editor of Malayalam Encyclopedia. He had authored more than a dozen books. Pavanan Foundation Award was constituted by Pavanan Foundation to recognize and honour literary works. In 2011 M. K. Sanu, Malayalam critic and writer had received this award.
