आज का दिन पत्रकारिता, खासकर हिंदी पत्रकारिता के महत्व, उसकी निष्पक्षता और निडरता को रेखांकित करने का अवसर भी है। यह दिन हमें याद दिलाता है कि पत्रकारिता लोकतंत्र का चौथा स्तंभ है जो समाज को सूचित, जागरूक और सशक्त बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। हिंदी पत्रकारिता ने न सिर्फ भाषा और संस्कृति को समृद्ध किया है, बल्कि स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन से लेकर आधुनिक भारत तक राष्ट्र निर्माण में भी अहम योगदान दिया है।
आज हिंदी पत्रकारिता दिवस है। हर साल ये दिन 30 मई को मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इसी दिन हिंदी भाषा का पहला समाचार पत्र ‘उदन्त मार्तण्ड’ का प्रकाशन शुरू हुआ था। यह अखबार ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान कोलकाता के बड़ा बाजार इलाके, अमर तल्ला लेन, कोलूटोला से प्रकाशित होता था और हर मंगलवार को पाठकों तक पहुंचता था।
Pandit Jugal Kishore Shukla was a lawyer by profession and originally hailed from Kanpur. He took the initiative to provide news to Hindi-speaking readers in their own language through this newspaper. At that time, many newspapers were being published in English, Bengali, Persian, and Urdu in India, but there was no newspaper in Hindi.
This day not only marks the historic beginning of Hindi journalism but also reminds us of the role, freedom, and responsibility of the media in a democracy. It is observed to honor the contributions of Hindi journalism and to encourage its growth and development.
हिंदी पत्रकारिता ने स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में जनता को जागरूक करने और राष्ट्रीय चेतना को बढ़ाने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। साथ ही सामाजिक कुरीतियों जैसे बाल विवाह, अशिक्षा और जातिगत भेदभाव के खिलाफ भी जागरूकता फैलाई।

Goa, famous for its stunning beaches and as a sought-after tourist destination, is the smallest state in India by area. Located on the west coast of India, Goa was a Portuguese colony for over 450 years until it was liberated by India in December 1961 and given the status of a union territory along with Daman and Diu.
Goa attained full statehood on May 30, 1987, and became the 25th state of the Republic of India, which is why we celebrate its statehood day on May 30 every year.
In 1510, when Alfonso de Albuquerque captured the peninsula and defeated Adil Shah of Bijapur. For the following 400 years, Goa was under Portuguese control.In 1961, the Indian government responded by launching Operation Vijay, which annexed the Daman and Diu islands and Goa to the Indian mainland, marking the end of Portuguese rule in India.

Goa has become the first Indian state to introduce a support price for cashew production, marking a significant step toward empowering its farmers.
“Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced the policy at the Cashew Festival in Panaji, ensuring benefits for all producers, including those without “Krushi cards.” This move aims to boost cashew yields and revitalize the farming sector. Organized by the Goa Forest Development Corporation, the festival carried the inspiring theme, “Cashew for the Next Generation,” encouraging youth participation and aiming to position Goan cashews on the global stage. India currently ranks as the second-largest cashew producer after Africa. Over 1,000 cashew saplings were distributed to panchayats in Sasashti to revive cultivation in underdeveloped areas. The Corporation also launched its new brand, Sylvan, and showcased its efforts in cultivating quality seedlings across 6,850 hectares of plantations. The festival was more than an agricultural showcase-it was a cultural celebration of Goan heritage. Visitors enjoyed performances by artists like Meat Bros and Double R, took part in educational camps, and explored over 50 stalls offering cashew-based treats, traditional feni, and local delicacies. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte praised the initiative, highlighting its broader vision for Goa’s sustainable growth and agricultural revival and said that

In Tripura, owing to the sincere efforts of the administration with due cooperation from the locals a rural development block of Lefunga in West Tripura district of the state has been leading with example in successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
“As the tap is turned on in the corner of a house, crystal clear, cool drinking water gushes out; bringing cheers on the faces of villagers who don’t have to walk for miles to fetch the drinking water. The Lefunga RD block located in the remote corner of west Tripura district has been inhabited by tribals, mainly the indigenous Tripuri community of Tripura. There are several hamlets in the block like Abhicharan, Sadhiram Thakur Para, Dinbandhu Para, Kanta Kobrapara, Bhagaban Chowdhury Para among others. The success of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the Lefunga Block in Mohanpur Subdivision of West Tripura district is reflective as every household in the block has been connected to a piped drinking water supply. In order to provide the villagers with clean drinking water the administration has setup 26 Iron Removal Plants in the block. According to Shantanu Roy, Assistant Engineer of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, a total of 3,367 households in the block have been connected to safe drinking water.
The Block Development Officer of Lefunga, Narendra Reang, stated that this success was made possible through the combined efforts of local residents, administrative officials, and elected representatives. With iron-free drinking water now reaching every household, the residents of this tribal-dominated block no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water. With water available right at their doorstep, they are feeling extremely happy. Such shining examples in implementing the government schemes adds to the concept of good governance. It is believed that in days to come this block brings to the fruition other flagship schemes of the government and become a model of development.
