It was a nightmare and panic across schools in Delhi-NCR yesterday after they received a threat mail from an unknown sender on email following which schools had to be evacuated and searched.
Later on Wednesday afternoon, Delhi Police confirmed the bomb threat mail turned out to be a hoax.
Schools in Delhi-NCR have reopened today amid tight security.
But its really sad when criminals take such steps to create terror …Issuing a threat—even over social media, via text message, or through e-mail—is out and out a crime . With a thoughtless remark on social media, young people risk starting out their adult lives in prison or put their life at risk.
The threats also cause severe emotional distress to students, school personnel, and parents. But the only thing we can do is not to panic …. and be with the agencies carrying out their work for our safety.
It was ceratainly a relief when nothing happened and all the children went home safely …But as a responsible citizen of the country we must always think before we post anything on Social media….

On Thursday, May 2, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning that several states, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Gangetic West Bengal were experiencing heatwave conditions. While the IMD has given a ‘red’ alert for West Bengal and coastal Andhra Pradesh, an ‘orange’ alert has been issued for Bihar, Telangana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Odisha.
Notably, a heatwave is announced when the maximum temperature is more than 40 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degrees above normal. In the meantime, an extreme heatwave is announced when the temperature is over 40 degrees Celsius and 6.5 degrees above normal.
देश के कई हिस्सों में लगातार भीषण गर्मी पड़ रही है. कई राज्यों में तापमान 45 के आसपास पहुंच चुका है. इस बीच भारतीय मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (IMD) ने चिंता बढ़ाने वाली बात कही है. मौसम विभाग ने बुधवार को भविष्यवाणी की कि पूर्वी भारत में अगले तीन दिनों तक लू का प्रकोप जारी रहेगा. इसने गंगीय पश्चिम बंगाल में तीन दिनों के लिए और ओडिशा में दो दिनों के लिए गंभीर लू की स्थिति के लिए रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है.
मौसम विभाग ने कहा कि 4 मई से दक्षिण प्रायद्वीपीय भारत में तूफान की गतिविधियां देखने को मिलेंगी. तेलंगाना, महाराष्ट्र, मध्य प्रदेश समेत राज्यों में भी आंधी-तूफान आएगा. 3 मई तक गंगीय पश्चिम बंगाल, पूर्वी झारखंड, उत्तरी ओडिशा और रायलसीमा में अधिकतम तापमान 44-47 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच जारी रहने और उसके बाद कम होने की संभावना है.
2 मई को गंगीय पश्चिम बंगाल, ओडिशा के कुछ हिस्सों, बिहार के कुछ हिस्सों और उप-हिमालयी पश्चिम बंगाल, झारखंड में कई स्थानों पर गंभीर गर्मी की स्थिति रहने की संभावना है. 2 मई के बाद लू की तीव्रता कम हो जाएगी और अगले 3 दिनों तक इस क्षेत्र में लू की स्थिति बनी रहेगी. अगले 4 से 5 दिनों के दौरान तेलंगाना, आंतरिक कर्नाटक, तटीय आंध्र प्रदेश, यानम में लू की स्थिति बनी रहने की संभावना है.
Meanwhile, in Delhi, the IMD forecast strong surface winds to prevail during the day time till tomorrow. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius today.
Scientist in IMD, Soma Sen Roy said, as per the forecast, the severity will persist for the coming two days in West Bengal, hence the red alert is continued and post that gradually it will head to orange alert. She said, in Odisha, an orange alert is placed. Ms Roy said, from 5th and 6th May, in East and Peninsular India where heat wave conditions are grim will gradually decline, leading to a low alert level.
दिल्ली-एनसीआर में बुधवार को पारे ने बड़ा गोता लगाया. जिसके बाद अधिकतम तापमान गिरकर 33.7 डिग्री सेल्सियस पर पहुंच गया, जो सामान्य से पांच डिग्री कम दर्ज हुआ. वहीं, न्यूनतम तापमान 21 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया जो सामान्य से 4 डिग्री सेल्सियस कम रहा. दिल्ली में हवाएं भी चलती रहीं, इसलिए लोगों को गर्मी का एहसास लगभग न के बराबर हुआ. अब मई का पहला हफ्ता भी ऐसे ही गुजरने का पूर्वानुमान लगाया गया है.
मौसम विभाग (IMD) के मुताबिक पहाड़ी राज्यों में हो रही बर्फबारी की वजह से अगले पूरे हफ्ते दिल्ली में लू चलने की संभावना नहीं है. बीते 24 घंटों की बात करें तो जम्मू कश्मीर, गिलगित-बाल्टिस्तान, मुजफ्फराबाद और हिमाचल प्रदेश में हल्की से मध्यम बारिश और बर्फबारी हुई. वहीं पूर्वोत्तर भारत (NE) में हल्की से मध्यम बारिश और बर्फबारी हुई.
Delhi weather rainfall update: दिल्ली में बारिश कब होगी?
3 मई की रात से एक ताजा पश्चिमी विक्षोभ पश्चिमी हिमालय क्षेत्र के करीब पहुंचने की संभावना है. मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक दिल्ली में अगले कुछ दिनों में बारिश हो सकती है. आसमान में बादल छाए रहेंगे. दो व तीन मई को अधिकतम तापमान 37 से 38 डिग्री और न्यूनतम तापमान 20 से 22 डिग्री रह सकता है. आज गुरुवार को आसमान साफ रहने और दिन में 35 से 45 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से तेज हवाएं चल सकती हैं. ऐसे में आज भी गर्मी से राहत रहेगी.
IMD के मुताबिक वीकेंड यानी शनिवार को दिल्ली में तेज आंधी आने के साथ हल्की बारिश हो सकती है. हालांकि तीन से छह मई तक आसमान में बादल छाए रहेंगे, बूंदाबांदी हो सकती है. ऐसे में अभी लगभग एक हफ्ते दिल्ली वालों को राहत मिलती रहेगी. 3 मई को बारिश के आसार कम हैं लेकिन 4 मई को हल्की बारिश का अनुमान लगाया गया है. यह बारिश रात के समय होगी.
Dos and Don’ts for Heat wave
- Drink sufficient water – even if not thirsty. Persons with epilepsy or heart,
kidney or liver disease who are on fluid-restricted diets or have a problem
with fluid retention should consult a doctor before increasing liquid
intake. - Use ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution), homemade drinks like lassi, torani
(rice water), lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water, etc. to keep yourself
hydrated. - Wear lightweight, light-coloured, loose, cotton clothes.
- If outside, cover your head: Use a cloth, hat or umbrella. Use sunglasses
to protect your eyes and sunscreen to protect your skin. - Take special care for the elderly, children, sick or overweight as they are
more likely to become victims of excessive heat. - Stay indoors as much as possible.
- Traditional remedies like onion salad and raw mango with salt and cumin
can prevent heat stroke. - Use public transport and car-pooling. This will help reduce global
warming and heat. - Don’t burn dry leaves, agriculture residue and garbage.
- Conserve water bodies. Practice rainwater harvesting.
- Use energy-efficient appliances, clean fuel and alternative sources of
energy. - If you feel dizzy or ill, see a doctor immediately or ask somebody to take
you to the doctor immediately. - Use solar reflective white paint, cool roof technology, air-light and cross
ventilation and thermo cool insulation for low-cost cooling. You can also
keep haystacks or grow vegetation on roofs. - Keep your home cool, use dark colour curtains, tinted glass/ shutters or
sunshade and open windows at night. Try to remain on the lower floors. - Green roofs, green walls and indoor plants reduce heat by cooling the
building naturally, reducing air-conditioning requirements and release of
waste heat.

The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council has launched a scheme aimed at distributing musical instruments to beneficiaries, with the goal of preserving folk music in the region. This initiative has garnered widespread appreciation from the local people terming it a major step in the revival of traditional art. More from our correspondent:
Implemented through the department of Information and Public Relations, as per the initiative locally termed as ‘Rolyangs-Pa-Rogs’, youth have taken the maximum benefit. During the extended winter breaks, students and music enthusiasts from different parts of the Union Territory started learning these instruments, marking a significant improvement in reviving the traditional forms of music in the region. As per the initiative, a variety of musical instruments such as Dhaman, Surna, Kopong, Tsakling, Yangshan, and Khakong were distributed among 371 beneficiaries during 2023–24. Talking to Akashvani, a local music teacher, Angdu Dorjey Khigu talked about the revival of folk music and his efforts in imparting musical education to the aspiring students.
The enthusiasm of young people for traditional musical instruments and the keen interest of teachers in imparting education is a testament to the fact that the local people are taking proactive steps to preserve the art forms that contribute to the rich culture and heritage of the region. Malda Uttar parliamentary constituency had come into existence from 2009 Lok Sabha election. Before that there was only one constituency Malda. A.B.A. Ghani Khan Chaudhury famously known as ‘Barkat’ was last elected from Malda constituency in 2004 Lok Sabha election from Congress ticket. From 2009 Lok Sabha election there came into existence Malda Uttar and Malda Dakshin constituencies.
Malda Uttar constituency consists of seven assembly segments. They are Habibpur, Malda, Gazole, Ratua, Chanchal, Malatipur and Harishchandrapur. Malda Uttar will go to poll on 7th May under the third phase of election.
The sitting MP from Malda Uttar is Bharatiya Janata Party BJP’s Sh Khagen Murmu who defeated All India Trinamool Congress’s Mausam Noor by a margin of 5 % in 2019 Lok Sabha election. Earlier Mausam Noor had won the seat in 2009 and 2014 from Congress’s ticket.
BJP has fielded Khagen Murmu again in Malda Uttar seat while All India Trinamool Congress has fielded former IPS officer Prasun Banerjee. Prasun Banerjee has resigned from his job as IG of Raiganj range. Congress has fielded Alam Mostaque. Five independents candidates are there in the Malda Uttar seat. नारसीदास चतुर्वेदी (जन्म– 24 दिसम्बर, 1892, मृत्यु– 2 मई, 1985)
प्रसिद्ध पत्रकार और शहीदों की स्मृति में साहित्य प्रकाशन के प्रेरणास्त्रोत रहे बनारसीदास चतुर्वेदी की आज पुण्यतिथि हैं। उनका जन्म वह 24 दिसंबर 1892 को फिरोजाबाद में हुआ था। उनकी गणना अग्रगण्य पत्रकारों और साहित्यकारों में की जाती है। कहते हैं कि वे किसी भी नई सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, साहित्यिक या राष्ट्रीय मुहिम से जुड़ने, नए काम में हाथ डालने या नई रचना में प्रवृत्त होने से पहले ख़ुद से एक ही सवाल पूछते थे कि उससे देश, समाज, उसकी भाषाओं और साहित्यों, ख़ासकर हिंदी का कुछ भला होगा या मानव जीवन के किसी भी क्षेत्र में उच्चतर मूल्यों की प्रतिष्ठा होगी या नहीं?
इस प्रश्न का उत्तर पा लेने के बाद वे कोई निश्चय कर लेते तो न उससे फिरते थे, न लक्ष्य दूर देख निराश होते अथवा प्रतिबद्धताओं से विचलित होते थे।
सन 1914 से ही वे प्रवासी भारतीयों की समस्याओं पर लिखने लगे थे। बनारसी दास बारह वर्ष तक राज्य सभा के सदस्य भी रहे थे। उन्हें साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में भारत सरकार द्वारा सन 1973 में ‘पद्म भूषण’ से सम्मानित किया गया।

He was the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from 1968 to 1972 and has served as Director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla. He received the Padma Bhushan Award by the President of India in 2000, and was awarded India’s second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2021.

Among the dozen or so great masters of world cinema, Satyajit Ray is known for his humanistic approach to cinema. He made his films in Bengali…… And yet, his films are of universal interest. They are about things that make up the human race — relationships, emotions, struggle, conflicts, joys and sorrows.
देश के एक महान निर्माता निर्देशक सत्यजीत रे की आज जयंती है। सत्यजित रे प्रमुख रूप से बतौर निर्देशक के रूप में जाने जाते हैं लेकिन लेखक और साहित्यकार के रूप में भी उन्होंने काफी प्रसिद्धि हासिल की। उन्होंने मुख्य रूप से बांग्ला फिल्मों का निर्देशन किया। यूँ तो 1955 में फिल्म ‘पथेर पांचाली’ से शुरू हुआ उनका सिनेमाई सफर आखिरी फिल्म ‘आगंतुक’ (1992) तक कुल 37 फिल्मों का रहा। लेकिन उन्हें ‘अपू ट्राइलॉजी’ के नाम से मशहूर शुरुआती तीन फिल्मों (‘पथेर पांचाली’, ‘अपराजितो, और ‘अपुर संसार’ ) से ही विश्व सिनेमा के अग्रणी फ़िल्मकार के रूप में प्रतिष्ठा मिल गई थी।
The Apu Trilogy (1955–1959), The Music Room (1958), The Big City (1963) and Charulata (1964) and the Goopy–Bagha trilogy…… a 1969 Indian fantasy adventure comedy film written and directed by Satyajit Ray and based on a story by his grandfather Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury. It is a fantasy musical, with music and lyrics composed and written by Ray himself.
His film Charulata ….is considered one of the finest works of Ray and is often featured in the lists of the greatest films ever made
विश्व में भारतीय फिल्मों को नई पहचान दिलाने वाले सत्यजित रे को में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था। उन्हें 1984 में दादा साहेब फाल्के पुरस्कार नवाज़ा गया था।
