आज अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नर्स दिवस है। यह दिवस आधुनिक नर्सिंग की जनक फ्लोरेंस नाइटिंगेल के जन्म के उपलक्ष्य में मनाया जाता है। फ़्लोरेन्स नाइटिंगेल ‘आधुनिक नर्सिग आन्दोलन की जन्मदाता’ मानी जाती हैं। प्रेम, दया व सेवा-भावना की प्रतिमूर्ति फ़्लोरेन्स नाइटिंगेल “द लेडी विद द लैंप” के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हैं। उन्होंने क्रीमियन युद्ध के दौरान स्वास्थ्य सेवा में क्रांति ला दी और नर्सिंग को एक पेशेवर अनुशासन के रूप में स्थापित किया। नर्सों का कल्याण सीधे तौर पर देश की स्वास्थ्य प्रणाली की मज़बूती और राष्ट्रीय विकास से जुड़ा है।

Along with the rest of the Buddhist countries, the auspicious Birth and the Enlightenment Day of Lord Gautama Buddha is being celebrated at Leh Ladakh .Despite the current cease fire situation at the borders the special day is celebrated with full religious fervour but as proposed by the District Administration this year the Buddha Jayanti celebration was brief with small gathering at the sacred Dhamma Centre. The function started with observing 2 minute silence to those who recently lost their precious life in the recent border conflict. Being one of the major followers of Mahayana Buddhism, Buddhists in Ladakh celebrate the day Vaisakh Purnima by organising special gatherings and seminars on the life of Buddha and his teachings.As usual this year Ladakh Buddhist Association and All Ladakh Gonpa Association organised the function at Dhamma Centre Choglamsar where people gathered for the brief celebration. The function on Buddha Purnima started this morning with the procession of Sacred Buddhist Text. His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nyima Rinpoche graced the function as chief guest. Rinpochey while speaking about the Life and Teaching of Lord Buddha mentions “Dhammapada” the collection of sayings of the Buddha in Verse form and one of the most widely read and best known Buddhist Scriptures. Apart from this monks from Phyang monastery offer special recitation and pray for world peace and harmony. For Parikrama this is Phuntsok Wangmo from Leh Ladakh.

In the Indian stock market, the bulls took over Dalal Street today. Both the benchmark domestic equity indices ended at their highest closing levels of 2025, buoyed by ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, and positive global cues including announcement of trade truce between United States and China. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, rallied 2,975 points, to close at 82,430. The National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 zoomed 917 points, to settle at 24,925.
In the global crude market, Brent Crude was trading almost 2.7 percent up at 65 dollars and 62 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was trading over 2.8 percent up at 62 dollars and 77 cents per barrel, when reports last came in.
In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading down at 92,880 rupees per 10 grams, and silver 999 fine was also trading down at 94,500 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.
