Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the world of creators and their economy is going through a fundamental change. Interacting with the news media in New Delhi yesterday, ahead of the maiden World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, Mr Vaishnaw said, with the advent of technology, the old model is giving way to the new model, creating opportunities as well as challenges.

In a social media post, the President Droupadi Murmu said that this festival inspires the spirit of new hope and new beginnings. She added that the teachings of Jesus Christ inspire humanity to follow the path of love and sacrifice.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this Easter festival is special because the Jubilee Year is being observed world over with immense fervour. He prayed that the Easter inspires hope, renewal and compassion in people, and hoped for joy and harmony.

Easter Sunday is also the completion of the forty days of fasting observed by many Christians all over the world. People express their happiness by celebrating with sumptuous food and all that they renounce for the past forty days. Churches are decorated with festoons signifying Christ’s victory over death. In Tamilnadu it is festivity with Easter eggs hot cross buns and the age old Biriyani at most of the houses alongwith the traditional payasam. Joy/ Chennai.

 

KERALA

“Cutting across various denominations, Christians celebrated Easter with traditional zeal and fervour,  marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion. Bishops and senior clergymen led the Easter Mass at various churches, exhorting people to remain peaceful, and considerate to the deprived and the needy in the society. The celebrations signal the end of a season of renunciation, prayer and contemplation of the sufferings undergone by Jesus Christ for the betterment of humanity.  Christian homes  prepared traditional feasts as part of the  celebrations.  State BJP President and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar visited the Lourdes Syro Malabar Forane Church in Thiruvananthapuram and attended the Easter Prayers. ” Raj Mohan, Akashvani News, Kochi.

 

MIZORAM

In Mizoram, Easter Sunday is being observed with joy and full religious fervour in all parts of the state. Our correspondent reports that large number of faithfuls congregated in their respective Churches in the morning to welcome the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

 

“Easter Sunday is being celebrated in Mizoram with religious festivity and enthusiasm. The Presbyterian Synod, the biggest Christian denomination in the state, the Baptist Church of Mizoram and Salvation Army took to Sunrise Service in various parts of the state to mark the significance of the solemn occasion. The all-time inspirational Christian hymn “Up from the grave He arose” beautifully played by the band party of Salvation Army reverberated throughout the hills and valley of Mizoram. Community feast are also being arranged in some localities to welcome the resurrection of Christ” – Gin Gangte, Akashvani News, Aizawl.

Easter Sunday in Nagaland is celebrated with deep religious fervour. In the capital city of Kohima, the Kohima Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship organised  a prominent Easter Sunrise Service or the Resurrection Sunday”  at the Kohima Local Ground this morning. The event drew believers from various denominations, uniting them in prayers and hymns to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

 

General Secretary of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, delivered the message, extended resurrection greetings.

 

Throughout the day, churches across Nagaland host special services, baptisms, and fellowship meals. केंद्र सरकार और महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा देश में राष्ट्रीय सहयोग अभियान, 7वां पोषण पखवाड़ा शुरू किया गया है। सातवाँ संस्करण 8 अप्रैल से 22 अप्रैल तक मनाया जाएगा।  मातृ एवं शिशु पोषण, लाभार्थियों के लिए डिजिटल सहायता और बचपन में मोटापे से निपटने पर केंद्रित थीम के साथ, पोषण पखवाड़ा का 7वाँ संस्करण पोषण संबंधी कल्याण को बढ़ाने के लिए परिणाम-आधारित उपायो  पर केंद्रित है। इस अभियान के संदर्भ में  विदर्भ के चंद्रपुर जिले मे बडे पैमाने पर काम हो रहा है. चंद्रपुर कि  ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी ज्योति डांगे जानकारी देते हुए बताया की इस साल के पोषण पंधरवडा में माता और बालकों का पोषण तथा लाभार्थी के लिए डिजिटल सुविधा और मोटापा कम करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहे हैं। कुपोषण को सौ प्रतिशत  दूर करने के लिए हम केंद्र सरकार के माध्यम से यह पोषण पंधरवडा हम मना रहे हैं।

Sarvepalli Gopal (23 April 1923 – 20 April 2002)  historian. He was the son of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, He was the author of the Radhakrishnan: A Biography and Jawaharlal Nehru: A Biography.

 

in the world of history he is one of its erudite and devoted practitioners who served the discipline with rare distinction. The qualities that he brought to bear on the writing of history rank him among the best in the world.

 

Like many of his generation, Gopal was deeply influenced by nationalism, both by its anti-colonial character and by its inherent civilisational strength.

शकील बदायुनी

आज शकील बदायुनी की पुण्यतिथि है। शकील बदायुनी एक भारतीय उर्दू कवि, गीतकार और हिंदी और उर्दू भाषा की फिल्मों के गीतकार थे। शकील बदायूंनी का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के बदायूं में हुआ था। साल 1961 में फ़िल्म  चौदहवीं का चाँद हो गाने के लिए उन्हें फ़िल्मफ़ेयर सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीतकार पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। 3 मई 2013 को उनके सम्मान में भारतीय डाक द्वारा उनकी तस्वीर वाला एक डाक टिकट भी जारी किया गया।

 

शकील बदायूँनी ने क़रीब तीन दशक के फ़िल्मी जीवन में लगभग 90 फ़िल्मों के लिये गीत लिखे। उनके फ़िल्मी सफर पर एक नजर डालने से पता चलता है कि उन्होंने सबसे ज्यादा फ़िल्में संगीतकार नौशाद के साथ ही की।  शकील बदायुनी ने इंसाफ की डगर पे, मधुबन में राधिका नाचे रे, प्यार किया तो डरना क्या जैसे मशहूर गाने लिखे है।

 

गीत–प्यार किया तो डरना क्या

अपने फ़िल्मी गीतों की दिलकशी से उर्दू शाइरी को लोकप्रिय बनाने वाले शकील कुछ यूं लिखते थे–

अब तो ख़ुशी का ग़म है न ग़म की ख़ुशी मुझे

बे-हिस बना चुकी है बहुत ज़िंदगी मुझे

ऐ मोहब्बत तिरे अंजाम पे रोना आया

जाने क्यूँ आज तिरे नाम पे रोना आया

गौरीशंकर हीराचंद ओझा

आज पुण्‍यतिथि है गौरीशंकर हीराचंद ओझा की। वे भारत के प्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार थे। इन्हें इतिहास, पुरातत्त्व और प्राचीन लिपियों में विशेषज्ञता प्राप्त थी। वर्ष 1937 में ‘काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय’ ने उन्हें ‘डी.लिट’ की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया था। ओझा जी आधी शताब्दी तक ज्ञान के प्रकाश स्तम्भ के रूप में खड़े थे। वे भारत के अतीत का मार्ग टटोलने में निरन्तर आलोक पाते रहे। सिरोही राज्य, सोलंकियों तथा राजपूताने के इतिहास के साथ-साथ आपने इतिहास तथा अन्य विषयक कई ग्रंथ लिखे।

गोपीनाथ मोहंती

आज जन्मदिन है गोपीनाथ मोहंती की। गोपीनाथ मोहंती उड़िया भाषा के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार थे। वर्ष 1930 से 1938 के बीच का समय इनके लेखक जीवन का निर्माण काल माना जाता है। गोपीनाथ मोहंती को 1973 में उनके योगदान के लिए ‘ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया था। बाद में 1981 में भारत सरकार द्वारा इन्हें साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में ‘पद्म भूषण’ से पुरस्कृत किया गया।  ओडिशा प्रशासन सेवा में कार्यरत मोहंती ने अपने तबादलों में मिले अनुभवों को कागज़ पर ढाला, जिससे हमें आदिवासी जीवन, संस्कृति, भाषा और जीवन-शैली के बारे में जानकारी मिलती हैI  इनके कई उपन्यास आज के सामाजिक परिवेश में उतने ही मायने रखते हैं, जितने ये उस समय रखते थे, जब ये लिखे गए थेI मोहंती एक स्वतंत्र विचारों वाले परिवार से ताल्लुक रखते थेI वे अपने पिता से अत्यधिक प्रेरित थे, जो उनके दृष्टिकोण में आध्यात्मिक स्वभाव वाले पुरुष थेI जिस काल के दौरान भारत में स्वतंत्रता संग्राम का संघर्ष जारी था, मोहंती मानसिक स्वतंत्रता और मानवता पर ज़्यादा ध्यान देते थेI ओड़िया भाषी रचनाओं के साथ-साथ उन्होंने पश्चिमी लेखकों की कई महान कथाएं पढ़ींI मोहंती अंग्रेजी साहित्य में मास्टर्स की डिग्री हासिल करके सन 1938 में ओडिशा प्रशासन सेवा में स्पेशल असिस्टेंट एजेंट के पद पर कार्यरत हुएI यहाँ पर उनको अनुमंडल पदाधिकारी और न्यायाधीश की सेवाएं संयुक्त रूप से करनीं थीं I मोहंती को कोरापुट जिले के कई जगहों में भेजा गयाI इस दौरान वे अधिकांश तौर पर कोंध और पराजा जातियों के आदिवासियों से रूबरू हुए, जहां समय के साथ-साथ, उन्होंने उनकी भाषा और जीवन शैली को अपनायाI इस आप-बीती को उन्होंने कलात्मक तरीके से अपनीं पहली रचनाओं: मन गहिरारा चासा  (1940), दाड़ी बुड्ढा (1944) और पराजा (1945) में ढाला I इस रचनाओं ने क्षेत्रीय साहित्य जगत में खूब तारीफें बटोरींI

चन्द्रबली सिंह

आज जयंती है चन्द्रबली सिंह की। वे एक लेखक होने के साथ-साथ उत्कृष्ट कोटि के अनुवादक एवं आलोचक थे। ग़ाज़ीपुर में जन्मे चन्द्रबली सिंह ने ‘लोक दृष्टि’, ‘हिन्दी साहित्य’ तथा ‘आलोचना का जनपक्ष’ नामक शीर्षक से पुस्तक का प्रकाशन किया। चन्द्रबली सिंह अंग्रेज़ी के परम विद्वान् होकर भी हिन्दी के साधक थे। वे रामविलास शर्मा के सान्निध्य में काफ़ी लम्बे समय तक आगरा के बलवंत राजपूत स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय में प्राध्यापन करते रहे।
