Now time for our segment DATELINE INDIA in which we take a look at the developments taking place at national or global level. Today we will talk about Bharat Antariksh Station.
India has planned to have its own space station namely Bharat Antariksh Station in 2035 and if all plan goes well an Indian astronaut will be on the Moon by 2040. This was stated by Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh while replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha today. Mr Singh said, Chandrayaan-4 will be launched through two launch vehicles and it will have five components. In reply to a query on why the chosen four Gaganyaan astronauts have been kept away from the public eye, Mr. Singh said it has been done to keep them away from distractions. He added that Gaganyaan’s test flight with a female robot will be launched by the end of this year. The Minister said, it is a moment of glory, pride and relief that Sunita Williams came back to earth safely.

“To celebrate the spirited and multifaceted art, culture and heritage of India’s tribal communities, the National School of Drama (NSD) will be organising the 7th edition of Adi Rang Mahotsav in New Delhi from the 21st of this month. The three day festival will bring together 300 tribal artists from rural India. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues threatening the very existence of our planet today. To tackle this enormous challenge, the British Council has launched the ‘Climate Skill Programme’. Recently, three higher education institutions from India were selected for this initiative, with Mumbai University being one of them.

The British Council is implementing the ‘Climate Skill Programme’ in five countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. Aimed at raising awareness among youth pursuing higher education on climate change and developing the necessary skills to address it, the programme will be implemented with financial support from the British Council and HSBC. To elaborate on this initiative and its various aspects, we have Dr Aparna Kelkar from Mumbai University, one of the coordinators of this programme.
“Under the first phase of the ‘Climate Skill Programme’, 25 master trainers will be trained from 22nd to 26th March. Through this initiative, we will see young, skilled climate warriors who will work on various aspects to make our planet a better place for future generations.”

“देश के सबसे स्वच्छ शहर इंदौर में आज रंगपंचमी पर विश्वप्रसिद्ध पारंपरिक गेर की धूम है। मालवा में होली के जुलूस को गेर कहा जाता है। करीब 3 किलोमीटर लंबी गेर में मुख्यमंत्री मोहन यादव, एनआरआई सहित लाखों लोग शामिल हुए । इसमें लाखों लीटर पानी और हजारों किलो गुलाल-रंग लोगों पर उड़ाया गया।”
इंदौर में इस बार तीन गेर और एक फाग यात्रा निकाली गई और फिर सभी ने राजवाड़ा पर सामूहिक रूप से रंगोत्सव मनाया। खास बात यह थी कि गेर को देखने के लिए 370 लोगों ने छत बुक कराई थीं। इंदौर की पहचान राजवाड़ा को ढंक दिया गया था , ताकि रंगों के कारण वह खराब न हो। आयोजकों से लेकर प्रशासन तक, सभी ने गेर की तैयारियों में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी। गेर के बाद सफाई व्यवस्था की भी पूरी तैयारी है। 500 से ज्यादा कर्मचारी एक साथ लगकर रिकॉर्ड टाइम में पूरे गेर मार्ग को साफ करेंगे। इस बार गेर के फोटो-वीडियो यूनेस्को को भेजे जाएंगे। वैसे आज कई विदेशी मेहमानों के साथ यूनेस्को की टीम भी इस रंग महोत्सव की साक्षी बनी। गेर में आज अलग अलग रंग दिखाई दिए। कहीं देशभक्ति, कहीं पर राधा कृष्ण की रासलीला तो कहीं पर भोलेनाथ का डमरू दिख । हर हर महादेव, जय हनुमान और जय श्री राम के नारों से रह रहकर पूरी गेर गूंजती रही । गेर में शामिल होने आए लोगों पर मिसाइल से गुलाल उड़ाया गया। वहीं सुरक्षा का दायित्व संभालने के लिए खुद इंदौर कलेक्टर आशीष सिंह कंट्रोल रूम में मौजूद हैं। चप्पे चप्पे पर सीसीटीवी की नजर रही। इसके अलावा,गेर में जगह जगह पुलिसकर्मी सिविल ड्रेस में भी मौजूद रहे । हुड़दंगियों पर नजर रखने के लिए पुलिसकर्मी छतों पर भी तैनात किए गए थे। गेर के सफल आयोजन के लिए पुलिस और प्रशासन सुबह से ही अलर्ट था। लगभग दो हजार से अधिक पुलिसकर्मियों की ड्यूटी लगाई गई है। ड्रोन से भी निगरानी की गई। कुल मिलाकर इंदौर ने एक बार फिर साबित कर दिया कि रंगोत्सव किस तरह मनाया जाता है। परिक्रमा के लिए भोपाल से मैं संजीव शर्मा ।

The Great One-horned Rhinoceros population in West Bengal has increased to 392 from 229.
A Rhino census conducted on 5th and 6th March 2025 across Jaldapara National Park, Gorumara National Park, Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary and parts of Jalpaiguri Reserve Forests of West Bengal covering an area of 396 sq km. In a press release the forest department has informed Rhinoceros population in Gorumara National Park recorded between 58 to 63 with an average estimate of 61 whereas in Jaldapara National Park the estimate is within the range of 327 to 334 with an average estimate of 331. Jaldapara National Park of West Bengal is the second largest habitat of One – Horned Rhinoceros after Kaziranga National Park of Assam. The forest department informed that earlier the population was 347 in 2022. The Chief Wildlife Warden of West Bengal Mr Debal Ray has said the future of Onehorned Rhino in the forests of the state is very good.
In the Rhino census conducted on 5th and 6th March 2025, 631 forest staffs has participated with the active involvement of 15 NGOs and civil society groups. Kalyan Laha, Akashvani News Kolkata.

The Kerala government has decided to implement the Kerala Health System Improvement Programme (KHSIP), a major initiative supported by the World Bank, with a total investment of 3464 crore rupees. The project, to be implemented across all 14 districts in the state, will receive 2424 crore rupees in financial assistance from the World Bank. It is spread over a period of five years, beginning this year through 2030.
“The KHSIP aims to strengthen and modernise the state’s health systems to deliver value-based healthcare while addressing the challenges posed by Kerala’s advanced demographic and epidemiological transitions. It will also foster greater intersectoral collaboration to effectively respond to emerging threats, including the impacts of climate change.The project is designed to enhance the efficiency of the state’s healthcare delivery system. One of its key components will be the creation of a comprehensive ecosystem for the prevention and management of Non-Communicable Diseases, while simultaneously strengthening emergency and trauma care services. This will include the establishment of a network of 24/7 urgent care facilities, equipped with ambulances and trauma registries. The program also focuses on re-engineering health systems to tackle ongoing challenges, as well as emerging issues, particularly in elderly care. Local self-governments will play a crucial role in these initiatives. The benchmark domestic equity indices today ended with modest gains, extending their winning streak for third straight session. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, rose 148 points to close at 75,449. The National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 also added 73 points to settle at 22,908. In the global crude market, Brent Crude was trading over half percent down at 70 dollars and 18 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude also fell 0.6 percent to trade at 66 dollars and 49 cents per barrel, when reports last came in. In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading down at 89,020 rupees per 10 grams, and silver 999 fine was also trading down at 100,790 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.

Edgar Rice Burroughs passed away on this day in 1950. He was an American writer best known for his prolific output in the adventure, science fiction, and fantasy genres. Best known for creating the characters Tarzan (who appeared in a series of twenty-four books by him) and John Carter (who was a recurring character in a series of eleven books), he also wrote the Pellucidar series, the Amtor series and the Caspak trilogy. Tarzan remains one of the most successful fictional characters to this day and is a cultural icon.
