Board exams are often seen as one of the most stressful phases in a student’s academic life. The pressure to perform well and meet the expectations of parents, teachers, and oneself can be overwhelming. However, while board exams can indeed be a source of stress and anxiety, they also offer numerous benefits that contribute to both personal and academic growth.
Preparing for board exams is not just about academic learning; it also contributes significantly to personal development. The discipline and time management required to balance multiple subjects and study hours instill a sense of responsibility and self-control in students. These qualities are invaluable and can be applied to various aspects of life beyond academics.
Additionally, overcoming the challenges and pressures associated with board exams builds resilience and perseverance. Students learn to face adversity head-on, developing a positive attitude towards challenges and failures. This resilience is a key factor in achieving long-term success and well-being.
High performance in board exams can open doors to numerous opportunities for students. Scores obtained in these exams often serve as a criterion for admission to prestigious colleges and universities, scholarships, and other academic programs. Excelling in board exams can pave the way for a bright and promising future, providing students with the resources and support needed to pursue their dreams.
In the ongoing efforts to motivate the students through the Pariksha pe Charcha programe today renowned spiritual leader Sadhguru shared insights on making learning playful and cultivating a balanced, vibrant mind. Sadhguru also shared powerful mindfulness techniques to boost focus and excel in exams. He said that education is not only about examinations and asked students to keep their intelligence in a dynamic mode.
Counseling can play a crucial role in helping board exam students manage stress, improve their performance, and maintain their mental well-being. Here are some ways counseling can benefit students during this important period:
Board exams can be a significant source of stress and anxiety. Counselors can teach students effective stress management techniques such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, and time management skills. These techniques can help students stay calm and focused during their preparation and exams. Board exams are often a stepping stone to higher education and career opportunities. Counselors can help students explore their interests and career options, and guide them in making informed decisions about their future education and career paths.
*Counselors can work with students to identify their academic challenges and provide strategies to overcome them. This might involve tutoring in specific subjects, developing better study techniques, or finding resources to aid their learning.
Conclusion
Counseling can be an invaluable resource for board exam students, providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate this challenging period successfully. By addressing both academic and emotional needs, counselors can help students achieve their best performance and maintain their overall well-being.

In the words of Ebrahim Alkazi, the doyen of Indian theatre and the first Director of National School of Drama, acting in theatre is like performing a sacred ritual-each emotion is a prayer, and each moment a celebration of life. People of Agartala were witness to this with some fabulous performances by the artists from the National School of Drama in the Bharat Rang Mahotsav. The theatre enthusiasts had the opportunity to watch five selected plays that were in for a grab in the theatrical fest. Some of the plays were Titar Bitar, Tichi Tita Toto Turu, , Tani la Tanyo and Super Sanskar.
Wo Kagaz ki Kashti Wo Barish Ka Paani was among one of the plays that was also presented by the artists from NSD. The play is directed by Sunder Lal Chhabra.
Wo Kagaz ki Kashti Wo Barish Ka Paani play is a theatrical adaptation of two stories by Munshi Premchand’s, “Chori” and “Bade Bhai Sahab.” Both stories revolve around childhood and its memories, set against the backdrop of 19th-century India.
These stories highlight children’s issues, joys, and concerns related to education, making them interesting for both children and adults. The story “Chori” beautifully portrays the emotional simplicity of a child’s mind. Unlike adults, who often harbor bitterness and daily worries, this story emphasizes the importance of maintaining childlike innocence to make life easier.
On the other hand, “Bade Bhai Sahab” humorously depicts the sweet and sour relationship between two brothers, satirizing the rote-learning education system. At the same time, it highlights the balance between education and life experiences.
Here are some of the glimpses from the play “Wo Kagaz Ki Kashti Wo Barish Ka Pani”…(excerpts from the play in the form if ambience…)

The new 2.05 kilometre Pamban Bridge provides an enhanced link between the mainland and Rameswaram Island which is a crucial route for both residents and tourists. This bridge will allow trains to cross in less than 5 minutes, significantly less than the previous 25-30 minutes on the old structure. Trials have been completed on the new bridge and safety certifications have also been done. The new bridge, being more modern and robust, is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and heavy traffic, offering improved safety compared to the old Pamban (Rama) Bridge, which is over a century old. The bridge will facilitate faster transportation of goods, especially to support the growing tourism industry around Rameswaram, which is an important religious destination for Hindus, and nearby areas like Dhanushkodi. It could potentially boost local economy through increased tourism and trade.
The bridge strengthens India’s infrastructure in the southern coastal region, which is critical not only for civilian use but also for defence logistics, given the proximity to the country & strategic maritime routes. The new brigde will have an electro-mechanical control system interlocked with train control systems Overall, the new Pamban Bridge represents both a significant step in infrastructure development and a symbol of progress for the region, especially for the North Indians to visit Rameswaram by train there by enhancing pilgrimage.
