We have gathered to celebrate a monumental occasion in our nation’s history – Constitution Day, or *Samvidhan Divas*. This year, we mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution, a landmark achievement that has guided our nation since 1949, shaping the world’s largest and most dynamic democracy.”

On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution, laying the foundation for a sovereign, democratic republic. Though it came into effect on January 26, 1950 – Republic Day – today is a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity continue to steer our nation.”

India’s Constitution is not just a document; it’s a living, progressive guide to building an inclusive, vibrant society. Over the years, it has empowered us to stand together, united in our diversity, and committed to the principles of social justice and equality.”

आज हम अपने संविधान के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने का उत्‍सव मना रहे हैं। हम बाबा साहेब डॉक्‍टर भीमराव आम्‍बेडकर और पूरी संविधान सभा के दृष्टिकोण पर विचार करते हैं। संविधान भारत के सामाजिक, आर्थिक और राजनीतिक विकास का आधार रहा है। इस पवित्र दस्तावेज़ के माध्यम से हम 2047 तक एक विकसित भारत की दिशा में प्रयास करना जारी रखेंगे।

Addressing a grand event organised at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan in New Delhi to mark the Constitution Day today,  President Murmu described the Indian Constitution as a living and progressive document through which the country is achieving the goals of social justice and inclusive development.

She said as per the Constitution, it is the duty of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary to work together to make the lives of common people comfortable. She also added that the ideals mentioned in the Preamble – justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity – have been instrumental in shaping a society where citizens have the freedom to dream and thrive.”

भारतीय संविधान सिर्फ एक पुस्‍तक नहीं है; यह वर्षों के त्याग और दृढ़ संकल्प का प्रतीक है। इसने भारत की विविधता को एकता में बदला है। यह सामाजिक और आर्थिक सुधारों की प्रेरक शक्ति बनी है जिससे हर नागरिक को लाभ होता है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आज सभी देशवासियों को संविधान दिवस पर शुभकामनाएं दी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय संविधान देश की हजारों वर्षों की महान परंपरा की आधुनिक अभिव्यक्ति है।

Today, as part of the celebrations, a commemorative coin and stamp have been released to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution. The President also unveiled books that take us through the making of the Constitution and its journey over the decades. *Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse* and *Making of the Constitution of India and its Glorious Journey* – these books offer a deep dive into the history and significance of the document that has shaped the nation.

इस संविधान दिवस पर, हमें अपने लोकतंत्र की ताकत, हमारे संविधान की शक्ति और इसके मूल्यों को बनाए रखने में हममें से प्रत्येक के साझा दायित्‍व की याद दिलाई जाती है। जैसे-जैसे हम प्रगति और एकता के लिए प्रयास करना जारी रखते हैं, हमें उन सिद्धांतों पर विचार करने का समय मिलता है जो हमारे देश का मार्गदर्शन करते हैं – और हम, नागरिक के रूप में, वर्ष 2047 तक भारत को एक विकसित राष्ट्र बनाने में कैसे योगदान दे सकते हैं।

The historic groundnut festival well known as Kadalekayi Parishe started in Bengaluru yesterday. The five days festival at the Bull temple and Dodda Ganesha shrine in Basavanagudi is attracting thousands of visitors.

The Bull temple and Dodda Ganesha shrine in Basavanagudi is bustling with disciples, consumers and tourists as varieties of groundnuts and their products are piled up across the road.  The historic groundnut fair or Kadalekayi Parishe began yesterday. Earlier the farmers who cultivated groundnut brought their first harvest to the Bull temple as an offering and thanking the Nandi for the good harvest. Today the tradition is continued by the traders and street hawkers.  Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar who inaugurated the fair yesterday has promised to develop Basavanagudi as a heritage corridor under the Brand Bengaluru initiative. He also announced tax exemption to the traders to sell their produce in the fair. Due to the surging crowd, over 200 police personnel are keeping watch over miscreants. There is also CCTV surveillance put in place.  The visitors also visit Bugle rock park and Narasimha Swamy park which is well kept for the special occasion.

SHIMLA

हिमाचल प्रदेश में सौर ऊर्जा उत्पादन की अपार संभावनाएं उपलब्ध हैं और हिमाचल को हरित ऊर्जा राज्य बनाने में सौर ऊर्जा परियोजनाओं की भूमिका अहम है। प्रदेश में सौर ऊर्जा उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राज्य सरकार ‘कम एण्ड इन्सटाॅल सोलर पावर प्रोजेक्ट्स पहल पर कार्य कर रही है। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य राज्य में निजी क्षेत्र में सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना स्थापित करने वाले युवाओं और उद्यमियों को प्रोत्साहित करना है।

हिमाचल प्रदेश में निजी क्षेत्र में कुल 300 मैगावाट क्षमता की ग्रांऊड मांउटिड सौर ऊर्जा परियोजनाएं आवंटित की गई हैं जिनमें से 62 मैगावाट क्षमता की परियोजनाएं स्थापित की जा चुकी हैं। सरकारी क्षेत्र में 32 मैगावाट क्षमता की सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना स्थापित की जा चुकी है और 15 मैगावाट क्षमता की परियोजना निर्माणाधीन है। प्रदेश सरकार की ‘कम एण्ड इन्सटाल सोलर पावर प्रोजेक्ट्स’ पहल से राज्य के राजस्व व संसाधनों में भी वृद्धि होने की उम्मीद है। सरकार ने राज्य विद्युत बोर्ड के अधिकारियों को विभिन्न परियोजनाओं में संसाधनों के सदुपयोग के साथ साथ उत्पादन क्षमता में सुधार के लिए सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण के साथ सुझाव देने का आग्रह भी किया है। निश्चित तौर पर सौर ऊर्जा परियोजनाएं पारिस्थितिकीय संतुलन और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण हैं।  परिक्रमा के लिए आकाशवाणी शिमला से मैं रितेश कपूर।

JAMMU

In a move aimed at improving connectivity with the Kashmir region, the New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express is set to start in January 2025.  The semi-high speed train will depart from New Delhi at 7 PM and reach Srinagar at 8 AM the next day and will cover a distance of 800 km in less than 13 hours. A trial train is currently being run between Sangaldan and Reasi Railway stations. This section also has the highest bridge on the Chenab River from where a trial run of an electronic train has also been conducted.

The Director Railways Safety inspected the railway track between Sangaldan and Reasi for the second time recently and reviewed the track and work from Reasi to Katra. The work is currently underway on Tunnel T-33 and will be completed in about a month. Besides, the work will be completed on all 4 railway stations between Reasi and Katra by December 20, 2024 after which the Director Railways Safety will observe a trial train run for 15 days till January 5. The train between Sangaldan and Banihal is running smoothly and every effort is being made to complete the 17 km long railway line between Reasi and Katra and start rail service from Udhampur to Baramulla. Goa

At the International Film Festival of India in Goa today, cinephiles are treated to a diverse array of films and activities. Around 73 films across genres have been showcased within the categories of Feature and non feature films.

Talking to Akashvani, two-time National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Suhas Jambhale, whose blockbuster film Article 370 is competing for the prestigious Golden Peacock Award under the Indian Panorama section, said that the festival has been very enriching for him and he is hopeful of winning award

He also shared an advice for young and aspiring filmmaker on how to make it big in the film industry.

Meanwhile, the non-feature film category of Indian Panorama showcased Pillars of Progress: The Epic Story of Delhi Metro, a documentary unraveling the complexities of metro engineering. Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said the film tries to explain the super complex, high end engineering concepts in a very simplified story.

This year, there’s also a special section Accessible India: Accessible Films. This unique segment featured Indian and international films such as India Votes, Stride, and Beyond the Court: The Indian Wheelchair Basketball Journey. These movie screenings are equipped with audio descriptions and Indian Sign Language, ensuring inclusivity for visually and hearing-impaired audience. IITF

The 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) is underway at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The 14-day fair, themed Viksit Bharat @ 2047, showcases India’s economic and cultural richness on a global scale. Our correspondent reports that it is one of the country’s biggest trade events, attracting a large number of visitors.

India International Trade Fair is receiving a huge response from the public. On the last Sunday, more than 1 lakh 50 thousand visitors visited the fair. A large number of crowd can be seen purchasing from many stalls, including kitchenware, ceramics, dry fruits, bags, purses, toys, footwear, pickles, spices, oil, fans, furniture items, clothing, and decorative pieces. Pavilions and stalls of various government ministries and departments are also attracting the eyes of the visitors. Domestic benchmark equity indices today ended with marginal losses, snapping its two-day winning streak. The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 106 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 80,004, while the NSE Nifty50 slipped 27 points, or 0.11 percent, to settle at 24,194.  In the Global Crude Market, Brent Crude was trading 0.77 percent up at 73 dollars and 57 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude gained 0.78 percent to trade at 69 dollars and 48 cents per barrel, when reports last came in. In the Indian bullion market, the 24 Karat Gold was trading down at 75,410 rupees for 10 grams, Silver 999 fine, is trading up at 88,210 per kilogram, when reports last came in.

BIRTH:

Ram Sharan Sharma (26 November 1919 – 20 August 2011)

was an Indian historian and Indologist who specialised in the history of Ancient and early Medieval India.

He was the founding Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and a historian of international repute. During his lifetime, he authored 115 books published in fifteen languages. He influenced major decisions relating to historical research in our country in his varied roles.

He was a great institution builder – a quality that is well represented in the way he shaped the academic programme and administrative structure of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) as its founder Chairman (1972-77).

Dr. Verghese Kurien – The Father of the White Revolution also has his birth ann today.

The country is celebrating National Milk Day today. The day marks the 103rd birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who is also known as the Father of the White Revolution in India. To celebrate this occasion, the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Ministry organized the National Milk Day 2024 celebrations in New Delhi.

Dr. V Kurien’s life-long purpose of work can be summed up in one word: ‘empowerment’ – empowerment of small and marginal farmers and landless laborers. Apart from the Milk Revolution that he spearheaded so successfully, his work has greatly impacted on the lives of millions of cooperative dairy farmers — socially, politically, and most importantly, economically. The milk revolution is, in fact, a by-product of the empowerment he brought about through the Amul-model (also known as Anand-pattern) dairy cooperatives. In Dr. Kurien’s words, he was not in the business of milk. Milk was only the ‘medium’ that he used to empower the farmers.

Dr. Kurien has many titles, the most common being ‘the Milkman from Anand’. India Today recently wrote on him under the title ‘White Knight’. He was the founder-Chairman of several world class organizations like NDDB, GCMMF (Amul), IRMA and so on. He has been a great institution builder. He has held very high positions in Government organizations as well, as Chairman of GEB; Vice Chancellor of GAU; Director, Central Board of RBI; Director, LIC; Director, IDBI and Director, Bank of Baroda; to name a few. Some time back, the Government of India had appointed him as the Chancellor of the Allahabad Central University.

He was also closely associated with the making of internationally acclaimed feature films like ‘Manthan’ and ‘Sardar’. Many management institutions have conducted case studies on his management style. Besides numerous National Awards (including Padma Shree, Padma Bushan and Padma Vibhushan) and International Awards which include World Food Prize in 1989.

was an Indian Urdu poet and political influencer. He was honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2014 for his poem Shahdaba.

Venkatarama Pandit Krishnamurthy (26 November 1923 – 7 April 2014)

known professionally as V. K. Murthy, was an Indian cinematographer. Murthy, a one-time violinist and jailed freedom fighter, was Guru Dutt’s regular cameraman on his movies. He provided some of Indian cinema’s most notable images in starkly contrasted black and white. He also shot India’s first cinemascope film, Kaagaz Ke Phool. For his contribution to film industry, particularly Indian film industry he was awarded the IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. In 2010, he was honoured with the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Murthy began his career in films with Maharana Prathap. He worked as an assistant to cinematographer V. Ratra in the 1951 film Baazi which was Guru Dutt’s first as a director. Dutt, impressed by Murthy’s smooth and fluid captures with the camera, took him on for his next film Jaal (1952), which was Murthy’s first film as a chief cinematographer. Murthy, then became a part of the Guru Dutt team, till the latter’s death in 1964.

In 1959 came Guru Dutt’s Kaagaz Ke Phool, a film critically acclaimed as one of the director’s best. More than anything else, it won many accolades for its cinematography and created unparalleled history in the field.

He repeated the feat with Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam winning the award again in 1962. He worked exclusively with Dutt until the director’s death. Some of Murthy’s best work came in Guru Dutt’s movies like Pyaasa, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam and Aar Paar.

राम शरण शर्मा (अंग्रेज़ी: Ram Sharan Sharma; जन्म- 26 नवम्बर, 1919, बेगुसराय, बिहार; मृत्यु- 20 अगस्त, 2011, पटना) भारत के प्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार और शिक्षाविद थे। वे समाज को हकीकत से रु-ब-रु कराने वाले, अन्तराष्ट्रीय ख्यातिप्राप्त भारतीय इतिहासकारों में से एक थे। राम शरण शर्मा ‘भारतीय इतिहास’ को वंशवादी कथाओं से मुक्त कर सामाजिक और आर्थिक इतिहास लेखन की प्रक्रिया की शुरुआत करने वालों में गिने जाते थे। वर्ष 1970 के दशक में ‘दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय’ के इतिहास विभाग के डीन के रूप में प्रोफेसर आर. एस. शर्मा के कार्यकाल के दौरान विभाग का व्यापक विस्तार किया गया था। विभाग में अधिकांश पदों की रचना का श्रेय भी प्रोफेसर शर्मा के प्रयासों को ही दिया जाता है।

वर्गीज़ कुरियन (अंग्रेज़ी: Verghese Kurien, जन्म: 26 नवंबर, 1921; मृत्यु: 9 सितम्बर, 2012) भारत में दुग्ध क्रान्ति, जिसे ‘श्वेत क्रान्ति’ भी कहा जाता है, के जनक माने जाते हैं। भारत को दुनिया का सर्वाधिक दुग्ध उत्पादक देश बनाने के लिए श्वेत क्रांति लाने वाले वर्गीज़ कुरियन को देश में सहकारी दुग्ध उद्योग के मॉडल की आधारशिला रखने का श्रेय जाता है।

देश में ‘श्वेत क्रांति के जनक’ और ‘मिल्कमैन’ के नाम से मशहूर वर्गीज़ कुरियन की अथक मेहनत का ही नतीजा था कि दूध की कमी वाला यह देश दुनिया के सबसे बड़े दूध उत्पादक देशों में शुमार हुआ। ‘श्वेत क्रांति’ और दूध के क्षेत्र में सहकारी मॉडल के ज़रिये लाखों ग़रीब किसानों की ज़िंदगी संवारने वाली शख्सियत डॉ. वर्गीज़ कुरियन का जन्म 26 नवंबर, 1921 को मद्रास (अब चेन्नई) में हुआ। उनके परिवार में पत्नी मॉली कुरियन और एक बेटी है।

राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास बोर्ड

अमूल की सफलता से अभिभूत होकर तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री ने ‘राष्ट्रीय दुग्ध विकास बोर्ड’ (एनडीडीबी) का गठन किया। जिससे पूरे देश में अमूल मॉडल को समझा और अपनाया गया। कुरियन को बोर्ड का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया। एनडीडीबी ने 1970 में ‘ऑपरेशन फ्लड’ की शुरूआत की जिससे भारत दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा दुग्ध उत्पादक देश बन गया। कुरियन ने 1965 से 1998 तक 33 साल एनडीडीबी के अध्यक्ष के तौर पर सेवाएं दीं। वे ‘विकसित भारत फाउंडेशन’ के प्रमुख रहे। उन्होंने असंगठित ग्रामीण भारत के दुग्ध उत्पादकों को जहां आर्थिक मजबूती दिला कर सम्मान दिलाया वहीं पूरे विश्व को एक दिशा दिखाई।

वेंकटरामा पंडित कृष्णमूर्ति (अंग्रेज़ी: Venkatarama Pandit Krishnamurthy; जन्म: 26 नवम्बर, 1923 – मृत्यु: 7 अप्रॅल, 2014) भारतीय सिने जगत में एक जाना-पहचाना नाम है। वे हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के प्रसिद्ध सिनेमेटोग्राफ़र हैं। एक कैमरामैन के रूप में वी. के. मूर्ति ने बहुत नाम कमाया है। उनके कैमरे का जादू मुस्कुराते होठों की उदासी, आँखों के काले घेरों की स्याह नमी, गुलाबी सर्दियों की गुनगुनाती गर्माहट और किताबों में छुपी चिठ्ठियों से उठती प्रेम की खुशबू आदि सब कुछ कैद कर सकता है। वी. के. मूर्ति कला और तकनीक के अद्भूत सम्मिश्रण तथा हिन्दी सिनेमा में प्रकाश और छाया के अतुलनीय प्रयोगों का नाम है। वे ऐक्टर-डायरेक्टर गुरुदत्त की टीम के साथ जुड़े थे। ‘प्यासा’, ‘काग़ज़ के फूल’, ‘चौंदहवीं का चांद’ और ‘साहब बीबी और ग़ुलाम’ जैसी गुरुदत्त की ब्लैक ऐंड वाइट फ़िल्मों में उन्होंने लाइट और कैमरे से चमत्कार उत्पन्न करके दर्शकों का मन मोह लिया था। उन्हें देश के सबसे बड़े सम्मान ‘दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार’ (2008) के लिए भी चुना गया।

यशपाल (अंग्रेज़ी: Yashpal, जन्म- 26 नवम्बर, 1926; मृत्यु- 24 जुलाई, 2017, नोएडा) भारत के मशहूर वैज्ञानिक और शिक्षाविद थे। देश में वैज्ञानिक प्रतिभाओं को निखारने में उनका ख़ास योगदान माना जाता है। उनकी उपलब्धियों का सम्मान करते हुए ही भारत सरकार ने उन्हें पद्म पुरस्कारों से नवाजा था। यशपाल दूरदर्शन पर ‘टर्निंग पाइंट’ नाम के एक साइंटिफिक कार्यक्रम को भी होस्ट करते थे। भारत में उनका श‍िक्षा के क्षेत्र में विशेष योगदान रहा है। वह श‍िक्षा में ओवरबर्डन पढ़ाई के सख्त विरुद्ध थे। इसीलिए उन्होंने इस मुद्दे की ओर भारत सरकार का कई बार ध्यान आकर्ष‍ित किया था।

नाथूराम प्रेमी (अंग्रेज़ी: Nathuram Premi ; जन्म- 26 नवम्बर, 1881, मध्य प्रदेश; मृत्यु- 30 जनवरी, 1960, महाराष्ट्र) प्रसिद्ध लेखक, कवि, भाषाविद और सम्पादक थे। वे अपनी रचनाएँ ‘प्रेमी’ उपनाम से लिखते थे। नाथूराम जी ने संस्कृत, बंगला, मराठी और गुजराती भाषाओं का अच्छा ज्ञान प्राप्त किया। उन्होंने मौलिक ग्रंथों के प्रकाशन के साथ-साथ भारतीय भाषाओं, विशेषत: बंगला के मूर्धन्य साहित्यकारों की रचनाओं के अनुवाद प्रकाशित करके हिन्दी के भंडार को भरने का सराहनीय कार्य सम्पन्न किया था।

तपन राय चौधरी (अंग्रेज़ी: Tapan Ray Chaudhuri, जन्म: 8 मई, 1926 – मृत्यु: 26 नवंबर, 2014) एक भारतीय इतिहासकार थे। तपन राय चौधरी ब्रिटिश भारतीय इतिहास, भारतीय आर्थिक इतिहास और बंगाल के इतिहास के विशेषज्ञ थे। वह वर्ष 1993 में ऑक्सफोर्ड से सेवानिवृत्त हुए। तपन राय चौधरी को सन 2007 में भारत सरकार द्वारा साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था।

विजय सालस्कर (अंग्रेज़ी: Vijay Salaskar, जन्म- 1957; शहादत- 26 नवम्बर, 2008) मुंबई पुलिस में सेवारत एक वरिष्ठ पुलिस इंस्पेक्टर और एनकाउंटर स्पेशलिस्ट थे। उन्हें अलग-अलग मुठभेड़ों में 75-80 अपराधियों को मार गिराने का श्रेय दिया जाता है। विजय सालस्कर 26 नवंबर, 2008 के मुंबई हमलों में आतंकवादियों से लड़ते हुए शहीद हुए।

विजय सालस्कर का जन्म मराठा परिवार में हुआ था।

उन्होंने मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय से वाणिज्य विषय के साथ एम.कॉम की डिग्री प्राप्त की थी।

वर्ष 1983 में विजय सालस्कर मुंबई पुलिस में उपनिरीक्षक के रूप में शामिल हो गए।

1983 बैच के अधिकारी विजय सालस्कर ने अपनी 24 साल की सेवा में कई अपराधियों का सफाया कर दिया।

26 नवंबर, 2008 को मुंबई हमले के दौरान आतंकवादियों के विरुद्ध की गई कार्यवाई में विजय सालस्कर शहीद हो गए।

विजय सालस्कर की बहादुरी के लिए उन्हें 26 जनवरी, 2009 को ‘अशोक चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया।
