Now let us discuss The Impact of Marine Litter. Marine litter affects not only wildlife but also local communities, especially in Arctic cities. Did you know that marine debris can impact fishing, tourism, and even the health of local populations? It’s a cycle that needs to be broken! Marine litter presents a huge problem in our oceans, with some scientists warning that, by 2050, the quantity of plastics in the oceans will outweigh fish. In addition to the environmental and health problems posed by marine litter, floating garbage and plastics pose a costly as well as dangerous problem for shipping, as they can be a navigational hazard and become entangled in propellers and rudders. Another problem requiring urgent remedial action is the massive accumulation of plastics, not only in coastal areas but also in the deep sea. This litter is harmful to marine life: sea creatures can become trapped inside containers or strangled by nets or ropes, and microplastics can also enter the food chain as they are indigestible when swallowed.

The Land Ports in India experience movement of around 25 lakh passengers annually, as figured out in the last year, which is a large scale of footfalls of people including their staff, officials and workers too and that include man, women and transgender too. Given the present scenario of gender discrimination in a few other domains of workplaces, the Landport Authority of India, LPAI has adopted zero tolerance policy towards any kind of discrimination and atrocities against women. The authority has said that it would ensure dignified workplaces with inclusion of several facilities privacy and dignified security for women and children in all their offices and landports across the country. “The Land Port Authority of India has said that it will make sure that there will be no gender bias and discrimination in any of their offices across the country. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, member finance of the Land Port Authority of India, Dr. Rekha Raikar said that Land Ports around the country will be given scores based on the facilities provided by them at the Land Ports with regard to women’s safety. Likewise, the land ports will have to see whether there are mobile charger points at the facility to charge the cellphone in case the mobile battery of any women passenger drains down completely. Besides, the land ports will also have to have the shuttle service for women passengers given that the LPAs are situated far from the main cities and women employees or passengers do not face any kind of difficulties”.
The senior official of the Land Port Authority of India also said that approval has been received from the Cabinet Committee on Security to modify 66 Land Custom Stations (LCS) in the country to Land Ports. The modification of these LCS to Land Port will immensely benefit in the trade & commerce activity, besides passenger movement with 7 neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal and China.
The initiatives adopted by the Land Port Authority of India towards ensured women’s safety, free from gender discrimination, cordial trade and commerce activity and seamless passenger movement will certainly inspire other major organisations, to evolve with perfect measures to ensure safety, security and privacy of women folks. With support from her husband, she mastered this art form and adapted it to the changing times. Shivamma’s masterpieces are cherished not only in India but also across the world. They are exported to various Indian states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Karnataka, and even to countries in Europe and America.But Shivamma’s true dream is for this art to live on. She is committed to training the younger generation in the art of puppet making so that it continues for many more years. दिनेश ठाकुर (1947 – 20 सितंबर, 2012)
रंगमंच के गुजरे जमाने के प्रसिद्ध कलाकार और निर्देशक दिनेश ठाकुर को हम आज याद कर रहे हैं। आज इनकी पुण्य तिथि है। उन्होंने कई हिंदी फ़िल्मों में अभिनय भी किया। बासु चटर्जी की फ़िल्म ‘रजनीगंधा’ के लिये उन्हें फ़िल्म फेयर पुरस्कार मिला था। ‘रजनीगंधा’ के अलावा दिनेश ठाकुर ने मेरे ‘अपने’, और ‘घर’ जैसी कई सफल फ़िल्मों में काम किया है। उन्होंने 1978 में आई फिल्म घर की पटकथा भी लिखी और कहानी भी उन्हीं की थी। इस फिल्म को 1979 में फ़िल्म फेयर बेस्ट स्टोरी का अवार्ड जिताया था। अन्य फ़िल्मों में शामिल हैं – (1978), ‘मधु मालती’ (1978), ‘गीतांजलि’।

तेलुगु फ़िल्म जगत के प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता और जाने माने निर्माता ए. नागेश्वर राव की आज जयंती है। इन्हें कला क्षेत्र में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए भारत सरकार द्वारा 2011 में दूसरा सर्वश्रेष्ठ नागरिक सम्मान पद्म विभूषण और 1990 में भारतीय सिनेमा का सर्वोच्च सम्मान दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। ए. नागेश्वर राव का जन्म 20 सितम्बर 1924 को रामपुरम, कृष्णा ज़िला, आंध्र प्रदेश के एक साधारण परिवार में हुआ था। परिवार की कमज़ोर आर्थिक स्थिति के कारण इनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा प्राइमरी स्कूल तक ही हो पायी थी। इनके पुत्र ‘अक्किनेनी नागार्जुन’ भी प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता हैं।

महेश भट्ट – जन्म दिन 20 सितंबर, 1948::भारतीय हिन्दी फ़िल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक एवं पटकथा लेखक महेश भट्ट आज अपना जन्म दिन मना रहे हैं। शुरुआती निर्देशन करियर के दौरान उन्होंने कई बहु प्रशंसित फिल्में दी हैं, जिनमें शामिल हैं – अर्थ, सारांश, जानम, नाम, सड़क, जख्म। इन्होंने मंज़िलें और भी हैं (1974) से अपने निर्देशन कार्य की शुरुआत की थी। इनके द्वारा निर्देशित फ़िल्म सारांश (1984) को मॉस्को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म उत्सव में दिखाया गया था और साथ ही इसके कहानी लिखने के कारण इन्हें सर्वश्रेष्ठ कहानी का फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कार भी मिला। यह अपने भाई मुकेश भट्ट के साथ कब्ज़ा (1988) नामक फ़िल्म के निर्माण के साथ ही निर्माता भी बन गए। महेश भट्ट हमेशा नए प्रतिभाशाली कलाकारों को बढ़ावा देते हैं। 1979 में आई ‘लहू के दो रंग’ ने 1980 के फिल्मफेयर अवार्ड्स में दो पुरस्कार जीते। फिल्म ने बॉक्स ऑफिस पर औसत से ऊपर प्रदर्शन किया। उनकी पहली बड़ी हिट फिल्म थी ‘अर्थ’। फिल्म ‘नाम’ को भी काफी पसंद किया गया।
