Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stated that Operation Sindoor has lent a new confidence and enthusiasm to the fight against terrorism across the world. Addressing the nation in his Mann Ki Baat programme on Akashvani, Mr Modi praised the valour displayed by armed forces during Operation Sindoor. He lauded the precision and accuracy with which armed forces destroyed the terrorist hideouts across the border. He said the whole country is united against terrorism today and filled with resolve to end it. 

 

The Prime Minister emphasised that Operation Sindoor is not just a military mission, but a picture of nation’s resolve and courage. He added that this has infused the whole country with a sense of patriotism, and has painted it in the hues of the tricolour. Mr Modi noted that Tiranga Yatras were organised in many cities, villages and small towns of the country. Thousands of people came out holding the tricolour to honour the country’s armed forces.

 

The Prime Minister stressed that Indian soldiers destroyed terror bases with indomitable courage, with weapons, equipment and technology made in India. He said this also included the resolve of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The Prime Minister found it heart touching that parents have pledged to buy only Made in India toys for their children. Some families have taken the pledge to spend their vacations in the country. Many young people have resolved to ‘Wed in India’ and give gifts made by Indian artisans. 

 

Mr Modi highlighted that this public participation is the real strength of India. He urged everyone to accord priority to products made in the country. He opined that this is not just a matter of economic self-reliance, but participation in nation building.

 

In today’s episode of Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister shared that a bus has reached Gadchiroli’s Katejhari village for the first time. Mr Modi said a bus could never ply to the village earlier, as this village was affected by Maoist violence.The Prime Minister said the children in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist affected areas are passionate about science. Saying that they are also doing great in sports, Mr Modi said such efforts reflect the courage of people living in these areas. He said people have chosen the path of improving their lives amidst challenges.

 

The Prime Minister was pleased to share with the listeners of Mann Ki Baat that the population of lions in Gir, Gujarat has increased from 674 to 891 in just five years. Mr Modi noted that the rise in the population of the Asiatic Lion shows that a sense of ownership in the society leads to results. Speaking about the recently organised Rising North East Summit, the Prime Minister said the North East is extraordinary. He mentioned Crafted Fibers, saying it is a beautiful confluence of Sikkim’s tradition, the art of weaving, and fashion. Crafted Fibers was started by a person who is a Veterinary Doctor by profession.

 

In today’s episode, Mr Modi also mentioned 65 year old Jeevan Joshi from Haldwani, Uttarakhand. During childhood, polio affected his legs but his imagination led him to creating beautiful art pieces from the dry bark of pine trees.

 

Touching upon the subject of Drone Didis, the Prime Minister said women in Sangareddy district of Telangana are spraying pesticides on 50 acres of land with the help of drones. Now, these women are not known as ‘drone operators’ but as ‘sky warriors’.

 

International Yoga Day’ will be celebrated on the 21st of June. The Prime Minister said this occasion reminds everyone to incorporate yoga in their daily lives. The Prime Minister said he will participate in the ‘Yoga Day’ program in Visakhapatnam this year.

 

The Prime Minister also spoke about paper waste and recycling. He said, a fourth of the country’s landfill waste is related to paper. He stressed the need for every person to think about paper recycling, saying many Indian Start-Ups are doing excellent work in this sector.

 

Prime Minister spoke about ‘sugar boards’ being installed in some schools.  The aim of this unique initiative of CBSE is to make children aware of their sugar intake. Mr Modi hailed this unique effort.

 

Talking about World Bee Day celebrated on the 20th of this month, the Prime Minister said, he observed that during the last 11 years, a sweet revolution has taken place in beekeeping in India. The Prime Minister gave the example of Korea district of Chhattisgarh, where tribal farmers have created a pure organic honey brand named ‘Sonhani’. This honey is being sold on many online portals including GeM (Government e Marketplace).

The members of the Women Self Help Groups have expressed their immense happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning Drone Didis as sky warriors. The women members who underwent training under Namo Drone Didi informed that they are earning a decent amount while helping Farmers to reduce their burden.

 

Swapna along with Chandra Kala, and Anita informed that they are now able to provide fertiliser or pesticide to more areas of land with less expenditure with the help of drones.

 

Meanwhile, an advocate from Mancherial district, Pradeep Chandra and a class 9 student Varshit drew inspiration from today’s Mann Ki Baat and recalled various inspiring stories shared by the Prime Minister.

The all-party party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor to the United States has highlighted how India responded in a precise and calibrated manner to destroy terrorist bases, headquarters, and launchpads in Pakistan following the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack. He was speaking at the Indian Consulate in New York.

 

Our correspondent reports that the All-Party Delegation from India reached New York as part of a diplomatic outreach aimed at projecting India’s united and resolute stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

 

 Taking India’s strong message against terrorism to the world, another multi-party delegation, led by Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule, has reached Qatar.

 

The delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi has successfully completed the Moscow leg of its visit and has now left for Slovenia.

 

The delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha is in Seoul, South Korea and the high level delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde has reached DR Congo after concluding the UAE visit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presiding over the meeting of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of National Democratic Alliance ruled states in New Delhi. The meeting is a day-long brainstorming session on good governance issues. BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are also participating in the deliberations.

 

Twenty Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers belonging to all 20 NDA ruled governments are discussing good governance issues. This meeting organised by the BJP’s Good Governance Department, will also pass two resolutions. In the first resolution they will congratulate Indian defence forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor and in another resolution they will congratulate Central Government for its decision to conduct caste enumeration at the time of ensuing Census.

The Election Commission has announced bypolls to five Assembly Constituencies of Gujarat, Kerala, Punjab and West Bengal. The notification for the bypolls will be issued tomorrow and nominations can be filed until the 2nd of the next month with scrutiny scheduled for 3rd June. The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is 5th June. Polling will take place on 19th June while the counting will be held on 23rd June.

Indian Navy ship INS Sujatha today rescued three crew members of the distressed Liberia flagged container vessel MSC ELSA 3, which capsized 38 nautical miles south west of Kochi this morning. The vessel was enroute to Kochi from Vizhinjam near Thiruvananthapuram. The 21 crew members rescued from the vessel yesterday are being brought to Coast Guard jetty, and three others including the Captain, are being brought to the Indian Navy jetty in Kochi.
