Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the country has witnessed rapid transformations across diverse sectors in the last 11 years, powered by the collective participation of 140 crore Indians. As the NDA government at the Centre completed 11 years in office, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that, under the guiding principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, the Centre has delivered path breaking reforms with speed, scale and sensitivity. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that the country today is not just the fastest-growing major economy, but also a key global voice on pressing issues like climate action and digital innovation.
In another social media post, Prime Minister Modi urged everyone to take part in a survey on the NaMo App on India’s growth journey over the last 11 years.
In this special feature, Akashvani News takes a closer look at the government’s impactful initiatives and achievements across vital sectors. Today, we focus on the development journey of the Northeast, a region once seen as distant, now standing tall as a symbol of connectivity and progress.
“Over the past 11 years, the Government has invested in the Northeast not just through infrastructure, but through people. Flagship schemes like PM-DevINE, the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme, and the Aspirational Districts Programme have accelerated progress at the grassroots. Over three lakh tribal gatherers have been supported through the Van Dhan Yojana. 434 Farmer Producer Companies have benefited over two lakh farmers by supporting organised agri-business. The region is also emerging as a hub for organic produce, edible oil, and traditional products like bamboo, agarwood, and Eri silk. NEHHDC and NERAMAC have expanded market access, with local artisans and weavers benefiting from design support, branding, and national platforms. In education and health, indicators are improving steadily. Literacy rates have risen, and Mizoram has been declared fully literate under the ULLAS Mission. While Assam will have South Asia’s largest cancer care network with 15 hospitals. And through cultural festivals, museum projects, and global recognition like the UNESCO tag for Assam’s Moidams, the Northeast is proudly showcasing its identity to the world. From being on the margins of the India story, the Northeast is quickly becoming one of the country’s growth engines. A region rich in diversity is now becoming rich in opportunity, with every village, valley and voice finding its place in the national story. VISHNU PS, AKSHVANI NEWS, DELHI.”
