Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Operation Sindoor launched by the Indian Armed Forces is not just a name but a powerful symbol of the nation’s collective emotions and resilience. In his first address to the nation after operation Sindoor this evening, the Prime Minister said that Operation Sindoor is an unwavering pledge for justice.
The Prime Minister added that no nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore and terrorist attack on India will have to face a befitting reply, and the response will be on the nation’s terms.
Prime Minister Modi said Pakistan pleaded with India to stop the strikes but India considered it only after they assured they will stop their misadventure.
The Prime Minister saluted the armed forces, the military, the intelligence agencies and the scientists. He dedicated the valour, bravery, courage of armed forces under the Operation to every mother, sister and daughter of the country.
Hitting out at Pakistan, Mr Modi said terror incidents anywhere can be traced back to Pakistan’s terror hubs like Bahawalpur and Muridke.
Mr Modi said Pakistan must destroy its terror infrastructure otherwise there is no way out for them. In his address, Prime Minister Modi clarified that if there will be talks between India and Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Mr Modi said that zero tolerance against terrorism is the guarantee of a better world.

Director General Air Operations, Air Marshal AK Bharti today stressed that India’s fight was with terrorists and their support infrastructure and not with Pakistan military. He said it is a pity that the Pakistan military chose to intervene and bat for the terrorists which compelled the Indian Armed Forces to respond in kind.
Briefing media in Delhi on Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal Bharti gave details about how Indian Forces minimised damage to both civilian and military infrastructure of the country during Operation Sindoor. He spoke about the layered and integrated air defence systems put in place by the Indian Armed Forces.
Air Marshal Bharti informed that numerous waves of drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles employed by Pakistan were thwarted by the indigenously developed soft and hard kill counter-UAS systems and the well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel. He also highlighted the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence systems like the Akash system.
Speaking about the results achieved in countering the enemy threat over the last week, Air Marshal Bharti said Pakistan’s PL-15 missile of Chinese origin missed the target and loiter munitions and unmanned aerial systems were brought down. On India’s offensive actions, the DGAO said India targeted the length and breadth of the adversary, citing strikes on Nur Khan airbase and Rahim Yar Khan airbase.

Director General of Military Operation, DGMO level talks were held between India and Pakistan this evening. The Indian Army said in a statement that issues related to continuing the commitment that both sides must not fire a single shot or initiate any aggressive and inimical action against each other were discussed. It was also agreed that both sides consider immediate measures to ensure troop reduction from the borders and forward areas.

In the Indian stock market, the bulls took over Dalal Street today. Both the benchmark domestic equity indices ended at their highest closing levels of 2025, buoyed by ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, and positive global cues including the announcement of trade truce between United States and China. The broader market indices at the BSE showcased a stellar performance. The Mid-Cap index surged over 3.8 per cent, and the Small-Cap index jumped more than 4.1 per cent.

Brent Crude was trading at 66 dollars and 32 cents per barrel. WTI Crude was trading at 63 dollars and 52 cents per barrel, when reports last came in.”

The United States and China today agreed to drastically roll back tariffs on each other’s goods for an initial 90-day period, in a surprise breakthrough that has de-escalated a punishing trade war and buoyed global markets. The announcement, which was made in a joint statement, comes after a weekend of marathon trade negotiations at Geneva in Switzerland by officials from the world’s two largest economies, during which both sides touted substantial progress. According to the joint statement, the US will temporarily lower its tariffs on Chinese goods by Wednesday from 145 per cent to 30 per cent, while China will cut its levies on American imports from 125 per cent to 10 per cent.
