Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Central government is fully committed to ensure safety and security of all citizens in Manipur. Chairing a high level meeting to review the security situation in Manipur in New Delhi , Mr Shah said, Ministry of Home Affairs will talk to both the groups, Meiteis and Kukis to bridge the ethnic divide, at the earliest. He stressed on strategic deployment of central forces to restore peace and tranquility in Manipur. The Minister said, the deployment of forces will be increased if required. Mr Shah further directed that strict action must be taken as per law against the perpetrators of violence. He said, Central government has been actively supporting the Manipur Government in strengthening the security situation in the state.
Home Minister also reviewed the situation in relief camps, especially in respect of proper availability of food, water, medicines and other basic amenities. Mr Shah directed Chief Secretary of Manipur to ensure proper health and education facilities for the displaced people and their rehabilitation. Nine people were killed and at least 60 injured when the Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express collided with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal yesterday. The collision occurred near Rangapani station, approximately seven kilometers from New Jalpaiguri, causing two rear compartments to derail. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased in the railway mishap. The injured will receive Rs. 50,000. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the train collision site at Rangapani to assess the situation. He also visited the hospital to meet the accident victims. The Railways Minister announced an enhanced ex-gratia compensation of Rs.10 lakhs for the kin of the deceased, Rs. 2.5lakhs in case of grievous injuries and Rs. 50,000 for minor injuries.

USA National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi yesterday. Mr Sullivan briefed Prime Minister on the progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly under the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) such as semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, defence, space and among others. Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction at the speed and scale of the growing bilateral partnership in all areas and the convergence of views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Earlier, Mr Sullivan met External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi. After the meeting, Dr. Jaishankar said that a comprehensive discussion was held between the both sides on broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues.

चीन के गुआंग्डोंग प्रांत में मूसलाधार बारिश और भूस्खलन के कारण पांच लोगों की मौत हो गई और 15 लापता हो गए। स्थानीय अधिकारियों के अनुसार कल प्रांत के मीझोउ शहर के कई हिस्सों में भारी बारिश हुई। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि अब तक तेरह लोग फंसे हुए हैं।
पूरे चीन में कई सप्ताह तक खराब मौसम के बाद कल से घनी आबादी वाले गुआंग्डोंग प्रांत के कुछ हिस्सों में मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही है। बचाव कार्य के लिए प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में दस हजार से अधिक आपातकालीन कर्मियों को भेजा गया है।

Integral Coach Factory has built a prototype of an air conditioned 12 car Vande Metro for short inter city routes where mainline EMU trains are being used now. The rake, supposed to be rolled out in March, will be rolled out after approval from the Ministry of railways. The rake is being tested for different parameters including running tests on tracks. Designed on the Vande Bharat platform, the interior of the coaches is different. The seats are designed like the ones in suburban trains but with enhanced aesthetics. As per the design, each coach has 104 seats and a capacity to hold 185 standing passengers.ICF is also expecting some changes in the specifications including a probable speed limit from the new ministry. The factory is also getting the Vande Bharat sleeper train ready for trials in mid August. Once trial is over , production of the sleeper train will be faster because the shell and the bodies are the same as the Vande Bharat chair car trains.

Union Minister of State for Railways V Sommanna held a meeting with the railway officials in Bengaluru today on the projects under implementation in the state. He sought the information on nine projects laying new tracks and five doubling projects. This will create 1264 kms of new railway lines and 707 kms of doubling of the tracks. The officials assured the minister that all these projects will fructify by next year. The minister asked them to speed up the land acquisition process for the projects. He further said that the trains must keep up the schedule along with railway safety norms. He also urged the officials to remove all the level crossings by replacing them with over or under bridges.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने ‘ऑपरेशन मिलाप’ के तहत एक लापता बच्ची को उसके माता-पिता से मिलवाया। पुलिस अधिकारियों ने बताया कि कुतूब रोड़ पर गश्त के दौरान उन्हें एक 4 साल की बच्ची अकेली रोती हुई मिली। इसके बाद त्वरित कारवाई करते हुए पुलिस अधिकारी बच्ची को लेकर थाने पहुंचे और उसके परिजनों की खोजबीन में जुट गए। उत्तरी जिला के पुलिस उपायुक्त मनोज कुमार मीना ने बताया कि तमाम कोशिशों के बाद 3 घटें के अंदर पुलिस ने परिजनों को खोज लिया और लापता बच्ची को उनके सुपुर्द कर दिया।

सोमवार को नागपुर के दिघोरी इलाके में, कथित तौर पर नशे में धुत एक इंजिनियरिंग छात्र ने कार से फुटपाथ पर सोए लोगों को कुचल दिया, जिसमें दो महिलाओं की मौत हो गई। एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने बताया कि घटना में, चार बच्चों सहित 7 लोग घायल हुए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पीड़ित फुटपाथ पर ही रहते हैं और खिलौने आदि बेचते हैं। हुंडई वर्ना चला रहे भूषण लांजेवार और उसके साथ मौजूद नशे में धुत पांच अन्य लोग, घटनास्थल से भाग गए। बाद में सीसीटीवी फुटेज के आधार पर लांजेवार को पकड़ लिया गया।

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने कृषक बंधु योजना के तहत 43 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए हैं। यह राशि कृषि विभाग के माध्यम से वितरित की जाएगी। इस योजना के तहत 18 से 60 वर्ष की आयु के जिन किसानों की मृत्यु हो जाएगी; उनके परिवारों को अनुग्रह राशि के रूप में 2 लाख रुपये दिए जाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने 2019 में कृषक बंधु योजना शुरू की थी। इस नई घोषणा से इस योजना के तहत 2153 किसान परिवार लाभान्वित होंगे। पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार का इस योजना के तहत अब तक 2 हजार 240 करोड़ रूपए खर्च किए हैं।

Ali Akbar Khan (14 April 1922 – 18 June 2009) was an Indian Hindustani classical musician of the Maihar gharana, known for his virtuosity in playing the sarod. Trained as a classical musician and instrumentalist by his father, Allauddin Khan, he also composed numerous classical ragas and film scores. He established a music school in Calcutta in 1956, and the Ali Akbar College of Music in 1967, which moved with him to the United States and is now based in San Rafael,California, with a branch in Basel, Switzerland.Khan was instrumental in popularizing Indian classical music in the West, both as a performer and as a teacher. He first came to America in 1955 on the invitation of violinist Yehudi Menuhin and later settled in California. He was an adjunct professor of music at the University of California, Santa Cruz.Khan was accorded India’s second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan, in 1989. Nominated five times for the Grammy Award, Khan was also a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Heritage Fellowship.Khan, after years of rigorous training, gave his debut performance at a music conference in Allahabad in 1936, at the age of 13.
Beginning in 1945, Khan also started recording a series of 78 rpm disks (which could record about three minutes of music) at the HMV Studios in Bombay. For one such record he conceived a new composition Raga Chandranandan (“moonstruck”), based on four evening ragas.
In Bombay, he won acclaim as a composer of several film scores, including Chetan Anand’s Aandhiyan (1952). Lata Mangeshkar sang the title song, “Har Kahin Pe Shaadmani” and as a token of her respect to sarod maestro, did not charge any fee.This was followed by Satyajit Ray’s Devi (1960), Merchant-Ivory’s The Householder, and Tapan Sinha’s Khudito Pashan (“Hungry Stones”, 1960), for which he won the “Best Musician of the Year” award. He also played sarod for a song in 1955 film Seema which had the music composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

तो रेनू मेरे ख्याल से आपको और हमारे श्रोताओ को समझ आ गया होगा कि आज हम किसकी बात कर रहे हैं। जी हां, आज हम फ्लाइंग सिख के नाम से मशहूर भारतीय धावक मिल्खा सिंह को याद कर रहे हैं, जिनकी आज पुण्यतिथि है। ये किसी पहचान के मोहताज नहीं हैं। सन 1956 में मेलबर्न में आयोजित हुए ओलंपिक खेलों में इन्होंने पहली बार 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर की रेस में भाग लिया था। मिलखा सिंह ने 1958 में कटक में आयोजित नेशनल गेम्स में 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर स्पर्धा में रिकॉर्ड बनाए। इसके बाद उसी साल टोक्यो में आयोजित हुए एशियन गेम्स में उन्होंने 200 मीटर और 400 मीटर की दौड़ में भी गोल्ड मेडल अपने नाम किया। उस समय आज़ाद भारत में कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में भारत को स्वर्ण पदक दिलाने वाले वे पहले भारतीय थे। खेलों में उनके अतुल्य योगदान के लिये भारत सरकार ने उन्हें भारत के चौथे सर्वोच्च सम्मान ‘पद्मश्री’ से भी सम्मानित किया।

और आज ही भारत के एक और प्रसिद्ध खिलाड़ी, क्रिकेटर सैयद मुश्ताक अली की भी पुण्यतिथि है। सैयद मुश्ताक अली, विदेश में टेस्ट शतक बनाने वाले पहले भारतीय थे। उन्होंने 1936 में भारत के इंग्लैंड दौरे के दौरान यह उपलब्धि हासिल की थी। उन्होंने अंग्रेजी परिस्थितियों में बहुत अच्छा समय बिताया और दौरे पर चार प्रथम श्रेणी शतक बनाए। मुश्ताक आली दाएं हाथ से बल्लेबाजी किया करते थे जबकि गेंदबाजी बाएं हाथ से ऑर्थोडॉक्स स्पिन गेंद फेंकते थे। वह विज्डन क्रिकेटर्स अल्मनाक स्पेशल अवार्ड विजेता रह चुके है और कुल मिलाकर, उन्होंने 11 टेस्ट खेले। इसके अलावा उन्होंने 226 फर्स्ट क्लास क्रिकेट मैच खेले, जिसमें उन्होंने 35.90 की औसत से 13213 रन बनाए। इनमें 93 अर्ध शतक या उससे अधिक के स्कोर शामिल हैं। उन्हें 1964 में पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया और भारत में ट्वेन्टी 20 क्रिकेट की घरेलू चैंपियनशिप सैयद मुश्ताक अली ट्रॉफी, उन्ही के नाम पर रखी गई है।
