Ajit Doval has been reappointed as the National Security Advisor and Dr PK Mishra as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister with effect from June 10. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointments yesterday. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said that the appointments of Former IPS Mr Doval and Former IAS Mr Mishra will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Both Mr Doval and Mr Mishra will be assigned the rank of a cabinet minister in the table of precedence during their term in office.
The committee has also approved the appointment of Retired IAS officers Amit Khare and Tarun Kapoor as advisors to Prime Minister. The appointments of both officers will be in the rank and scale of secretary to Government for a period of two years with effect from 10th June or until further orders, whichever is earlier. These appointments will be on a contract basis as per usual terms and conditions as applicable.
After the appointment, Mr Doval called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi yesterday.

The Government has said that it is keeping a close watch on the market price of wheat. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in a statement said, suitable measures will be undertaken to prevent hoarding by unscrupulous elements and maintain stability in the market price of wheat. The ministry added that after meeting the requirement for Public Distribution System and other Welfare Schemes, which is approximately 184 lakh metric tonnes, sufficient stock of wheat will be available to undertake market interventions, as and when required.

India will bring back the mortal remains of 45 of its nationals killed in a devastating fire in Kuwait by a special flight today. In a statement, Indian Embassy in Kuwait said, the special flight will land in Kochi this morning, before heading for Delhi. Most of the deceased are from Kerala (23), followed by seven from Tamil Nadu, three each from Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, two from Odisha, and one each from Bihar, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Haryana.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh reached Kuwait yesterday to coordinate with the Kuwaiti government for the early repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased as well as to ensure the well-being of those injured in the tragic fire incident at a labour housing facility in the Mangaf area on Wednesday. Out of the 176 Indian workers in the housing facility, 45 have died, while 33 are hospitalised and the rest are reportedly safe.
Immediately upon his arrival, the Minister visited five hospitals, where the injured Indians are being treated, and interacted with them. According to hospital authorities, all the patients are reportedly safe and will be discharged gradually progressively depending on their medical condition.

मौसम विभाग ने भीषण गर्मी के कारण उत्तर-पश्चिम, उत्तर और पूर्वी भारत में ऑरेंज और रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है। मौसम विभाग ने कहा है कि अगले दो दिनों तक पंजाब, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, झारखंड, छत्तीसगढ़ और ओडिशा के कुछ हिस्सों में गंभीर लू की स्थिति बनी रहेगी। आकाशवाणी समाचार से बात करते हुए मौसम विभाग के वैज्ञानिक डॉ. आरके जेनामनी ने कहा कि आने वाले दिनों में इन क्षेत्रों में औसत तापमान 5 से 6 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक बढ़ने की उम्मीद है। इस बीच, मौसम विभाग ने अगले 7 दिनों के दौरान उत्तर-पूर्व भारत और पश्चिम बंगाल में भारी बारिश की संभावना व्यक्त की है। मौसम विभाग ने कहा है कि अगले पांच दिनों के दौरान गोवा और महाराष्ट्र में गरज के साथ बिजली और 50 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से तेज़ हवाओं के साथ बारिश होगी। अगले 5 दिनों के दौरान कर्नाटक, केरल, लक्षद्वीप, आंध्र प्रदेश, तेलंगाना, तमिलनाडु, पुडुचेरी और अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में इसी तरह की मौसम की स्थिति जारी रहेगी।

Top-seeded Divya beat Krasteva in the 10th round with just 26 moves to claim her maiden U-20 title. She finished unbeaten in the championship by winning nine of her games, while drawing the other two.

The number of Indian students who choose to study in the United States has increased significantly in the past three years. In 2023, the US Mission to India issued more student visas than in 2018, 2019 and 2020 combined. This unprecedented growth reflects the ongoing commitment by the US Government to prioritise students and to facilitate their travel, even as the mission met a 400 percent rise in demand for all other visas between 2021 and 2023. This year, the consular team India interviewed 3900 student visa applicants during its 8th annual student visa day. Indian students are already the largest student group of International graduate students in the United States. Ambassador Eric Garcetti said that every international student on a US campus represents tremendous accomplishment- years of study and hard work that went into preparing for academic excellence.

A tunnel boring machine named Anaimalai completed tunneling between Ayanavaram metro and Otteri metro and achieved a breakthrough as part of the 116. 1 km phase -2 project. The tunnelling began on October 23, 2023 for 925 metres , CMRL Managing Director M.A.Siddique and other officials were present during the breakthrough event. The stretch from Ayanavaram to Otteri is part of the 9km underground section on the 45.4 km corridor -3 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Siruseri Sipcot. A total of seven tunnel boring machines have been mobilised for tunneling work in the stretch. Phase -2 has three corridors covering 116.1 km . A total of 23 tunnel boring machines will be used for tunneling work in the project.

ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research near Bengaluru has organised a workshop on the All India Coordinated Research Project on Mushrooms for two days starting today. The DDG, Horticultural Sciences, ICAR Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh inaugurated the workshop and said that India is globally in third position in mushroom production and there is a huge gap in demand and supply in addition to large export potential. He called upon the agri scientists to make use of farm residue as media for mushroom cultivation through sustainable approach. The Director of IIHR in Bengaluru Dr T K Behera speaking on the occasion urged the mushroom scientists to apply recent scientific tools for mushroom improvement. He advised to make use of the vast network of Krishi Vignan Kendras spread across the county for dissemination of the mushroom technologies to rural India. He noted that this will generate employment and increase the income of rural youth including women.

The Telangana state government will be setting up ‘Mahila Shakti Canteen Services’ across the state. The government has proposed to set up at least 150 canteens in the next two years. Studies have been conducted regarding the functioning of the canteens named ‘Annapurna’ in Kerala and ‘Didi Ke Rasoi’ in West Bengal. State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari directed the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner to prepare a detailed action plan regarding the functioning, management and space required for establishing the canteens.
The Chief Secretary said at a review meeting held in Hyderabad yesterday that the Chief Minister intended to strengthen women’s organisations in the state. Special canteens will be set up in all government offices, Collectorates, tourist spots, temples, bus stands and industrial areas with the assistance of women’s organisations. She further said a study has been done on the successful performance of similar canteens operating in Kerala and ‘Didi Ka Rasoi’ in West Bengal. The management of these canteens in the state will be handed over to rural women’s groups and special training will be given to these groups on running them.

दिल्ली में प्रदूषण कम करने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार 15 जून से 30 जून तक एक ‘धूल विरोधी अभियान’ चलाएगी। इसके अलावा, हरित आवरण को बढ़ाने के लिए सरकार की ग्रीष्मकालीन कार्य योजना के अंतर्गत वृक्षारोपण का महा अभियान भी चलाया जाएगा। दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री गोपाल राय ने बताया कि इस योजना के तहत औद्योगिक प्रदूषण को कम करने के लिए 35 टीमों का गठन किया गया है, जो औद्योगिक कचरे के सही तरीके से निपटान को सुनिश्चित करेंगी। श्री राय ने बताया कि सरकार ई-कचरे की रोकथाम के लिए इको पार्क तेजी से तैयार कर रही है। वहीं, पुनर्चक्रण में बच्चों की भागीदारी बढ़ाने के लिए सरकार 2000 इको क्लब के द्वारा बच्चों को विभिन्न गतिविधियों में शामिल करेंगी।

पश्चिमी रेलवे (WR) ने मुंबईकरों के ट्रेन यात्रा अनुभव को बेहतर बनाने के लिए मुंबई उपनगरीय लोकल के मोटर कोच के साइड पैनल पर पैनोरमा डिजिटल डिस्प्ले बोर्ड सफलतापूर्वक स्थापित किया है। गुरुवार को एक विज्ञप्ति में पश्चिम रेलवे के नए मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी विनीत अभिषेक ने कहा कि डिस्प्ले पैनल गतिशील हैं और यात्रियों को लोकल ट्रेन के गंतव्य, कोचों की संख्या और यह धीमी या तेज़ लोकल है या नहीं, इसकी स्पष्ट और तत्काल पहचान प्रदान करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे मुंबई उपनगरीय नेटवर्क पर अधिक सुविधाजनक और सूचित यात्रा सुनिश्चित होगी। पश्चिम रेलवे के अनुसार, यह अभिनव सुविधा जल्द ही मुंबई उपनगरीय खंड की अन्य लोकल ट्रेनों में भी लागू की जाएगी।

तो पुण्यतिथियों में आज सबसे पहला नाम है 1954 के पद्मभूषण विजेता कार्यमाणिवकम श्रीनिवास कृष्णन (अंग्रेज़ी: Kariamanickam Srinivasa Krishnan; जन्म- 4 दिसम्बर, 1898; मृत्यु- 14 जून, 1961) प्रसिद्ध भौतिक वैज्ञानिक थे। ‘मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय’ ने इनको ‘डी. एस. सी.’ की उपाधि प्रदान की थी। श्रीनिवास कृष्णन सन 1945-1946 में ‘भारतीय राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान अकादमी’ के अध्यक्ष चुने गए थे। भौतिकी की प्रत्येक दिशा में इनका महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा था। प्रकाशिकी, चुंबकत्व, इलेक्ट्रॉनिकी, ठोस अवस्था भौतिकी तथा विशेषकर धातु भौतिकी पर इन्होंने अनेक खोज की थीं। सी. वी. रमन के साथ ‘रमण प्रभाव’ की खोज में भी इनका योगदान था। के. एस. कृष्णन ‘भारतीय परमाणु आयोग’ एवं ‘भारतीय वैज्ञानिक एवं औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद’ के संचालक मंडल के सदस्य थे। इन्होंने अनेक अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलनों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व सफलतापूर्वक किया था।

Today is the death anniversary of Fakir Mohan Senapati, an Indian writer, poet, philosopher and social reformer. He played a leading role in establishing the distinct identity of Odia, a language mainly spoken in the Indian state of Odisha. Senapati is regarded as the father of Odia nationalism and modern Odia literature.
His “Rebati” (1898) is widely recognized as the first Odia short story. It is the story of a young innocent girl whose desire for education is placed in the context of a conservative society in a backward Odisha village, which is hit by the killer epidemic cholera. His other stories are “Patent Medicine”, “Daka Munshi”, “Adharma Bitta” etc.

उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ को रुद्रवीणा वादक के नाम से आज भी पूरे भारत में जाना जाता है। उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ को वर्ष 2008 में पद्मभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था। श्री असद अली ख़ाँ आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन के उच्च श्रेणी के कलाकार थे।उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ का जन्म 1937 में अलवर, राजस्थान में हुआ था। संगीत की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा रामपुर दरबारी के संगीतज्ञ अपने पिता उस्ताद सादिक अली ख़ाँ से ग्रहण की। वे संगीत की प्राचीनतम शैली ध्रुपद की खण्डार बानी विधा के वर्तमान में एक मात्र संरक्षक हैं। उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, अफ़ग़ानिस्तान, इटली और कई अन्य यूरोपीय देशों सहित कई देशों में प्रदर्शन किया और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में संगीत के पाठ्यक्रमों का आयोजन भी किया था। और यही नहीं शैफाली, उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ ने आकाशवाणी में काम किया, संगीत और ललित कला में 17 साल के लिए दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के संगीत विभाग में सितार सिखाया था और छात्रों को उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद निजी तौर पर प्रशिक्षित करना भी जारी रखा।

जी हाँ हम बात कर रहे हैं हिंदी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में बहुत तेज़ी से अपना मुकाम बनाने वाले सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की जिनकी आज पुण्यतिथि है! (आपका जन्म- 21 जनवरी, 1986, पटना, बिहार; मृत्यु- 14 जून, 2020, मुम्बई, महाराष्ट्र) सुशांत सिंह राजपूत भारतीय फ़िल्म अभिनेता, थियेटर और टीवी कलाकार थे। उन्होंने सबसे पहले ‘किस देश में है मेरा दिल’ नामक धारावाहिक में काम किया, लेकिन उनको पहचान धारावाहिक ‘पवित्र रिश्ता’ से मिली। इसके बाद उन्हें फ़िल्मों के प्रस्ताव मिलना शुरू हुए। उनकी पहली फ़िल्म ‘काय पो छे!’ थी, जिसमें उनके अभिनय की काफी तारीफ़ भी हुई। ‘काय पो छे’ के बाद सुशांत सिंह राजपूत ‘शुद्ध देसी रोमांस’ में वाणी कपूर और परिणीति चोपड़ा के साथ दिखे। फ़िल्म सफल रही और सुशांत का फ़िल्मी कॅरियर परवान चढ़ गया। सुशांत सिंह राजपूत को 14 जून 2020 को दिन में मुम्बई के बांद्रा में अपने घर में मृत पाया गया। प्राथमिक सूचना के अनुसार उनका निधन आत्महत्या के कारण हुआ। बताया गया कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत पिछले 6 महीने से अवसाद में थे, जिसके कारण उन्होंने आत्महत्या कर ली। फ़िलहाल सुशांत सिंह राजपूत अभिनीत फिल्मों की एक मेडली सुन लेते हैं!

और अब जन्म जयंतियों में बात अपने ज़माने के बइुत ही प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता भारत भूषण के बारे में जिनकी आज जन्म जयंती है। भारत भूषण का जन्म 14 जून 1920 को मेरठ में वैश्य जमीदार परिवार में हुआ था। भारत भूषण गायक बनने का ख्वाब लिए मुंबई की फ़िल्म नगरी में पहुंचे थे, लेकिन जब इस क्षेत्र में उन्हें मौका नहीं मिला तो उन्होंने निर्माता-निर्देशक केदार शर्मा की 1941 में निर्मित फ़िल्म चित्रलेखा में एक छोटी भूमिका से अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत कर दी। 1951 तक अभिनेता के रूप में उनकी खास पहचान नहीं बन पाई। इस दौरान उन्होंने भक्त कबीर (1942), भाईचारा (1943), सुहागरात (1948) जैसी 14 फ़िल्मों में काम किया। लेकिन भारत भूषण के अभिनय का सितारा निर्माता-निर्देशक विजय भट्ट की क्लासिक फ़िल्म बैजू बावरा से चमका। फिलहाल भारत भूषण पर फिल्माया गया फिल्म प्यार का मौसम का ये गीत सुन लेते हैं।
