सिक्किम में सेना की त्रिशक्ति कोर के जवान लापता सैनिकों की तलाश कर रहे हैं। चार अक्टूबर को हुई दुर्घटना के बाद लापता 23 में से एक सैनिक को जीवित सुरक्षित बचा लिया गया था, जबकि बरामद किए गए आठ शवों की अब तक पहचान की जा चुकी है। बाकी जवानों की तलाश जारी है।

उत्तराखंड में कल देर रात नैनीताल जिले के मंगोली घटकड के पास 31 यात्रियों को ले जा रही एक बस के खाई में गिर जाने से सात लोगों की मृत्यु हो गई और 22 अन्य घायल हो गए। बस में हरियाणा के हिसार जिले के स्कूल शिक्षक थे जो नैनीताल की यात्रा से लौट रहे थे। घायलों को उपचार के लिए हल्द्वानी के अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है।

In Afghanistan, death toll from strong earthquakes has risen to over 2,400 as search and rescue efforts continue amid reports that some people may be trapped under collapsed buildings. It was one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike the country in two decades. UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said at least 465 houses had been reported destroyed and 135 were damaged.
The 6.3 magnitude quake struck about 40km from the western city of Herat on Saturday. Many buildings were damaged, trapping people under rubble and there were at least three powerful aftershocks.

The State Government has declared October 7 as Nilgiri Tahr Day which will be observed every year from now on. A poster was also released on the occasion. The day was declared in honour of E.R.C.Davidar whose birthday falls on October 7. Davidar pioneered one of the first studies on Nilgiri Tahr, the State animal of Tamilnadu in 1975. The Nilgiri Tahr project will be launched by Chief Minister on 12th October. State Forest Secretary Supriya Sahu said last month Nilgiri Tahr Project Director held a meeting at Coimbatore to standardise a methodology for Nilgiri Tahr popualtion estimation. A team of experts including P.S.Easa, James Zachariah, Mohan Raj and T.R.Shankar Raman participated besides Boominathan and the President of the World wide Fund for Nature India.

The economic offences wing CID Police have issued fresh summons to film producer cum actor R.K.Suresh who is believed to be in Dubai after his suspected involvement in the 2438 Crore Rupees Aarudhra Gold trading company private case. The company had swindled the amount from more than one lakh depositors after luring them to invest in their various schemes. The EOW -CID officials also sought Interpol's help to nab all the absconding directors of Aarudhra holed up in Dubai. They had already issued a look out circular against R.K.Suresh and three other suspects involved in the scam. Based on the complaint of the actor Ruso who was arrested in connection with the financial scam, EOW officials summoned Suresh for inquiry. As there was no response from him, the cops started their probe and confirmed that he went to Dubai.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru incharge minister D K Shivakumar has stated that a solution to the severe traffic congestion on Bengaluru's outer ring road will be found within the next 100 days. The Outer Ring Road Companies Association had appealed to the State Government to take up remedial measures to decongest the Outer Ring Road burdened with bottlenecks. Mr. Shivakumar informed that a new Peripheral Ring Road is being constructed in Mahadevapura and Railway Over-bridge will be constructed after obtaining required land from the Forest Department. He also said that encroachment of Storm Water Drains are being cleared to ease rain water flow. He further said that water logging will be prevented and pot holes filled up to ease traffic movement.

The South-Central Railway approved the extension of 4 more trains to benefit passengers in the respective areas. Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy will flag-off the train from Kazipet to Hadapsar (Pune) from Secunderabad Station later this morning. He will also virtually flag-off the Kurnool-Jaipur, Bodhan-Karimnagar, Raichur-Nanded trains. Starting from tomorrow, the Jaipur Weekly Express running from Jaipur to Kachiguda will be extended to Kurnool City in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the Hadapsar (Pune)-Hyderabad-Hadapsar Triweekly Express will be extended to Kazipet via Bhuvanagiri and Janagama. दिल्ली की लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री आतिशी ने कल राजधानी के जनकपुरी और तिलकनगर की प्रमुख सड़कों का निरीक्षण किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने सड़कों, फुटपाथ, हार्टिकल्चर, ड्रेनेज और क्रॉसिंग व्यवस्था के बेहतर न होने पर, अधिकारियों को फटकार लगाई। मंत्री आतिशी ने अधिकारियों को क्षेत्र की सभी सड़कों को बेहतर बनाने के लिए एक सप्ताह के भीतर प्लान बनाने के निर्देश भी दिये। उन्होंने सड़कों पर पैदल यात्रियों की सुरक्षा और सुविधा में बाधा बन रहे अवरोधकों को भी तुरंत हटाने के लिए कहा।

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने निर्माण और विध्वंस स्थलों से निकलने वाले मलबे को रिसाइकल कर टाइल्स, ईंट समेत अन्य उत्पाद बनाने वाले सी एंड डी वेस्ट रिसाइक्लिंग प्लांट का कल जहांगीरपुरी में उद्घाटन किया। लगभग सात एकड़ में फैले इस आधुनिक प्लांट में रोजाना दो हजार टन वेस्ट मैटेरियल की रिसाइक्लिंग की जा सकेगी। दिल्ली के अलग-अलग इलाकों से मलबा लाकर यहां रिसाइकिल किया जायेगा और निर्माणस्थलों में इस्तेमाल होने वाले कई उत्पाद बनाये जायेंगे।
इस अवसर पर श्री केजरीवाल ने कहा कि दिल्ली को खूबसूरत बनाने के लिए यह प्लांट बेहद जरूरी है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस प्लांट के खुलने के बाद अब, दिल्ली को मलबे से छुटकारा मिल जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि दिल्ली में अभी करीब छह हजार पांच सौ टन मलबा रोजाना निकलता है, जिसे रिसाइकिल करने के लिए यह चौथा प्लांट खोला गया है।

रवीन्द्र जैन – मृत्यु- 9 अक्टूबर, 2015, मुम्बई, महाराष्ट्र
रवीन्द्र जैन, उस शख्सियत का नाम है जिनके गुणों का बखान जितना काम किया जाए कम है। 28 फरवरी 1944 में उत्तर प्रदेश के अलीगढ़ जिले में जन्में रवीन्द्र सात भाई-बहनों में तीसरे नंबर के थे। आज रवीन्द्र जैन की पुण्यतिथि है।
वे उन संगीतकारों में रहे, जिन्होंने कविता, शायरी और गीत की समझ को समेटते हुए लीक से हटकर कुछ गंभीर काम किया है। चितचोर, राम तेरी गंगा मैली, गीत गाता चल, नदिया के पार जैसी कई फिल्मों में शानदार गीत और संगीत देने वाले रवीनद्र जैन जन्म से ही दृष्टि बाधित थे। 1972 में उन्होंने अपने फिल्मी करियर की शुरुआत की। उन्होंने न सिर्फ अच्छा गाया बल्कि एक से बढ़कर एक संगीत भी दिया। उन्होंने बॉलीवुड के कई प्रसिद्ध गीत लिखे भी हैं। वे उन संगीतकारों में रहे, जिन्होंने कविता, शायरी और गीत की समझ को समेटते हुए लीक से हटकर कुछ गंभीर तरह का काम किया है। जिससे समाज प्रभावित हो।

1971 में रवीन्द्र जैन के संगीत निर्देशन में पहली बार पांच गाने रिकॉर्ड हुए। 1972 में कांच और हीरा की असफलता के बाद उन्होंने फिल्म चोर मचाए शोर, चितचोर, तपस्या, दुल्हन वही जो पिया मन भाए, अंखियों के झरोखों से, राम तेरी गंगा मैली, हिना, इंसाफ का तराजू, प्रतिशोध जैसी कई फिल्मों में संगीत दिया।
फिल्मों के अलावा रवीन्द्र जैन ने टीवी की दुनिया का मशहूर पौराणिक सीरियल रामायण का भी संगीत दिया था, साथ कई चौपाईयों को उन्होंने अपनी आवाज दी थी। बेशक रवीन्द्र जैन नहीं हैं, मगर उनकी कीर्ति शेष है और वह धुन भी जिसे आज भी लोग याद करते हैं जब तक ये दुनिया रहेगी रवीन्द्र जैन के गीत रहेंगे, उनका संगीत रहेगा.

Sarod mastero Amjad ali khan celebrates his bday today this legend s original name was masoom ali khan …. Born into a family of classical musicians and Sarod players, Amjad went on to modify the instrument and often experimented with it, and this helped him outshine many stalwarts.
प्रसिद्ध भारतीय सरोद वादक हैं, जिन्हें भारत का अग्रणी शास्त्रीय संगीतकार माना जाता है। अमजद अली ख़ाँ का जन्म ग्वालियर में 9 अक्टूबर 1945 को हुआ था। ग्वालियर में संगीत के 'सेनिया बंगश' घराने की छठी पीढ़ी में जन्म लेने वाले अमजद अली खाँ को संगीत विरासत में प्राप्त हुआ था। इनके पिता उस्ताद हाफ़िज़ अली खाँ ग्वालियर राज-दरबार में प्रतिष्ठित संगीतज्ञ थे। इस घराने के संगीतज्ञों ने ही ईरान के लोकवाद्य ‘रबाब’ को भारतीय संगीत के अनुकूल परिवर्द्धित कर ‘सरोद’ नामकरण किया। अमजद अली ख़ां ने 12 वर्ष की कम उम्र में ही एकल वादक के रूप में पहली प्रस्तुति पेश की।
अमजद अली ने शास्त्रीय संगीत में अभिनव परिवर्तन के अलावा बच्चों के लिए गायन एवं वाद्य संगीत की रचना की। अमजद की सर्जनात्मक प्रतिभा को उनके द्वारा रचित कई मनमोहक रागों में अभिव्यक्ति मिली। उनके द्वारा रचित रागों में शिवांजली, हरिप्रिया कानदा, किरण रंजनी, सुहाग भैरव, ललित ध्वनि, श्याम श्री और जवाहर मंजरी शामिल हैं। उस्ताद अमजद अली ख़ाँ ने देश-विदेश के अनेक महत्त्वपूर्ण संगीत केन्द्रों में प्रदर्शन कर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध किया है।
युवावस्था में ही उस्ताद अमजद अली खाँ ने सरोद-वादन में अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय ख्याति प्राप्त कर ली थी। 1971 में उन्होंने द्वितीय एशियाई अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय संगीत-सम्मेलन में भाग लेकर ‘रोस्टम पुरस्कार’ प्राप्त किया था। यह सम्मेलन यूनेस्को की ओर से पेरिस में आयोजित किया गया था, जिसमें उन्होंने ‘आकाशवाणी’ के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में भाग लिया था। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्हें मिले पुरस्कार हैं-1975 में पद्मश्री, 1989 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार, 1989 तानसेन सम्मान, 1991 में पद्म भूषण, 2001 में पद्म विभूषण ।
