लोकसभा चुनाव के छठे चरण में लगभग 61 प्रतिशत मतदान दर्ज किया गया है। पश्चिम बंगाल में 79 प्रतिशत, झारखंड में 64 प्रतिशत, ओडिसा में 69 प्रतिशत, हरियाणा में लगभग 60 प्रतिशत मतदान दर्ज किया गया है। दिल्ली में लगभग 58 प्रतिशत, बिहार में 55 प्रतिशत और उत्तर प्रदेश तथा जम्मू कश्मीर के अनंतनाग राजौरी संसदीय क्षेत्र में 54 प्रतिशत मतदान दर्ज किया गया। यह जम्मू कश्मीर में पिछले 35 सालों में यह अब तक रिकॉर्ड सर्वाधिक मतदान हुआ।
ओडिसा विधानसभा चुनाव के तीसरे चरण में लगभग 70 प्रतिशत तक मतदान की खबर है। कल छह राज्यों और दो केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों के 58 संसदीय निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में वोट डाले गए।
इस बीच, सातवें और अंतिम चरण के लिए प्रचार चरम पर है। राजनीतिक दलों के प्रमुख नेता रैलियां और रोड शो कर रहे हैं। सातवें चरण में पहली जून को आठ राज्यों की 57 सीटों पर मतदान होगा।

In Bihar, campaigning for the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections has been intensified with leaders of NDA and Grand Alliance and other parties holding back-to-back multiple rallies.
Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address two public meetings today in support of the NDA candidates. Mr. Shah will address election rallies in Karakat and Sasaram parliamentary constituencies.
BJP President JP Nadda is also scheduled to address public meetings in Jehanabad, Arrah and Nalanda Lok Sabha constituencies today.
JD(U) president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, LJP Ramvilas Chief Chirag Paswan and other NDA leaders will also address election rallies in support of party candidates.
Leaders of the Grand Alliance from RJD, Congress and Left Parties will also hit the campaigning trail today.
RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Vikas Sheel Insaan Party Chief Mukesh Sahni will hold public meetings in Buxar, Nalanda, Arrah and Pataliputra constituencies in support of RJD, and CPI-ML candidates.

Three years ago, Payal Kapadia won the ‘le prix du documentaire’ for Best Documentary for ‘A Night of Knowing Nothing’ at Cannes. ‘All We Imagine As Light’ is her first feature film. ‘All We Imagine As Light’, an Indo-French production, tells the story of a nurse named Prabha who receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband, causing disruption in her life. Other Indian films that have previously been selected for the Cannes’ competition section include works by Chetan Anand, V Shantaram, Raj Kapoor, Satyajit Ray, MS Sathyu, and Mrinal Sen. ‘Neecha Nagar’ remains the only Indian film to have won a Palme d’Or.

गुजरात में राजकोट के टीआरपी गेमज़ोन में कल शाम लगी भीषण आग अब तक 26 लोगों की मृत्यु हो गई जिसमें 9 बच्चे भी शामिल हैं। शनिवार को छुट्टी के कारण यहां बच्चे अपने अभिभावकों के साथ आए हुए थे। आग इतनी जबरदस्त थी कि 5 किलोमीटर दूर से ही धुएं का गुबार उठाता हुआ दिखाई दे रहा था। टीआरपी गेमज़ोन गुजरात के सौराष्ट्र क्षेत्र का सबसे बड़ा गेमज़ोन बताया जाता है।
इस बीच राज्य के पुलिस महानिदेशक ने पुलिस आयुक्तों और जिला पुलिस अधीक्षकों को राज्य के सभी गेम जोन का निरीक्षण करने और अग्नि सुरक्षा अनुमति के बिना चल रहे गेम जोन को बंद कराने के निर्देश दिए हैं।

India Meteorological Department IMD has said that the Cyclonic Storm “Remal” over North Bay of Bengal is now lays about 290 kilometres South South-East of Sagar Islands in West Bengal, 300 kilometres South South-West of Khepupara in Bangladesh and 320 kilometres South South East of Canning in West Bengal. IMD said, it will intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in next six hours and cross between Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts around today midnight as Severe Cyclonic Storm.
आंध्र प्रदेश के मौसम विभाग ने पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र के लिए चक्रवात रेमल को लेकर चेतावनी जारी की है, जिसके आज बांग्लादेश और पश्चिम बंगाल से टकराने की आशंका है। मौसम विभाग का अनुमान है कि चक्रवात रेमल कोलकाता शहर सहित पश्चिम बंगाल के तटीय क्षेत्र को महत्वपूर्ण रूप से प्रभावित करेगा।

Israel has agreed to renew talks with Hamas on a hostage deal next week, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the US, Israel’s state-owned TV reported today. According to the report, at a meeting in Paris yesterday, David Barnea, the chief of the Israeli Mossad intelligence agency, presented a new proposal approved by the Israeli war cabinet to William Burns, director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. An Israeli government official, confirmed that Barnea had returned to Israel today morning following his meeting with William Burns and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Paris. Israel’s state-owned TV reported that Burns had offered potential solutions to the contentious issues that had stalled previous negotiations, adding that the upcoming talks will be led by Egypt and Qatar, with active involvement from the United States.The previous round of ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, which took place in Egypt, collapsed earlier this month.

In the metro rail’s phase – 2 , 20 km of the network has been completed in different parts of the city and the suburbs that will link atleast 25 localities.
Three and a half years after the construction, a 10. 77 km tunnel and a 10 km elevated section of both upline and downline parts of the corridors have been made feasible. The 116.1 km phase 2 with 118 stations has three corridors that includes a 42.6 km underground section linked by 45 stations. Construction of around 47 stations is also underway. At some stations, the entry/exit work is underway and in some other stations construction of sub structure or super structure is in progress.

The school education department has announced that State board schools will reopen for classes 1 to 9 on June 6th after summer vacation. The Director of school education G.Arivoli said that chief educational officers should take all steps to reopen schools on the specified date. The upcoming academic year will be an important year for school students as the State Government is likely to implement state education policy drafted by a committee headed by Justice D.Murugesan.

US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti announced that he is working towards establishing a US consulate in Bengaluru in the coming year.
The decision to set up a consulate in Bengaluru, a long-pending demand, was taken during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the US in 2023.
A joint statement by the US and India issued on June 22, 2023, reads: “Concomitant with the rapid growth in our strategic partnership and demand for travel, both sides intend to open new consulates in each other’s countries.”
Garcetti made these remarks at the US-India Space Cooperation Conference, organized jointly by the US Commercial Service (USCS) and the US-India Business Council (USIBC).

Liquor sales in Bengaluru will be prohibited from June 1 to June 6 due to the legislative council elections and the counting for the Lok Sabha elections.
During this period, all wine shops, bars, and pubs will be closed. However, pubs and bars will be allowed to serve non-alcoholic beverages and food to their customers. According to the order, strict action will be taken against any violations.
The MLC elections polling is scheduled for June 3, with the vote counting set for June 6. Simultaneously, the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 vote counting will take place on June 4.

The CPI, CPIM and Telangana Jana Samiti have extended support to the Congress in the MLC bye-election of Graduates constituency of Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has convened a meeting with these three parties and discussed with them about the election. The constituency covers the areas seen as strongholds of the Left parties and covers one third area of the state, means 34 Assembly constituencies spread in 12 districts. Following the meeting, the three parties extended their support to the Congress candidate Ch Naveen for the bye-poll.
Meanwhile, the election authorities have made all arrangements for tomorrow’s polling. About 4 lakh 60 thousand graduate voters are going to utilise their franchise through preferential voting by marking on ballot paper.
While a total 52 candidates are in the fray, the main fight is between the Congress candidate Ch. Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna, BJP candidate G Premender Reddy and A Rakesh Reddy of BRS.

मुंबई को पानी की आपूर्ति करने वाली झीलों में जल स्तर 10 प्रतिशत से नीचे गिरने के कारण, बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) ने एहतियात के तौर पर पानी में कटौती की घोषणा की है। नगर निकाय के अनुसार, 30 मई से पूरे शहर में पानी की आपूर्ति में 5 प्रतिशत की कटौती की जाएगी और 5 जून से पानी की कटौती बढ़ाकर 10 फीसदी कर दी जाएगी।

दिल्ली के विवेक विहार क्षेत्र में कल बच्चों के एक अस्पताल में भीषण आग लगने से छह नवजात शिशुओं की मौत हो गई और कई अन्य घायल हो गए।
इस हादसे में 12 शिशुओं को बचा लिया गया है। अभी एक शिशु आई.सी.यू. में है और पांच अन्य को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। दिल्ली अग्निशमन सेवा ने कहा है कि उसे इस घटना के बारे में रात 11.30 बजे जानकारी मिली, जिसके बाद आग बुझाने वाली सोलह गाड़ियों को घटनास्थल के लिए तत्काल रवाना किया गया। आग लगने के कारणों का अभी पता नहीं चला है।

मनोरमा (अंग्रेज़ी: Manorama, जन्म- 26 मई, 1937, राजमन्नारगुड़ी, ज़िला, तमिलनाडु; मृत्यु- 10 अक्टूबर, 2015, चेन्नई) भारतीय दक्षिण सिनेमा की सुप्रसिद्ध हास्य अभिनेत्री एवं गायिका थीं। उन्होंने 1500 से अधिक तमिल, तेलुगु, मलयालम और कन्नड़ फ़िल्मों में काम किया था। मनोरमा ने फ़िल्मों में अपने अभिनय से दर्शकों का खूब प्यार पाया और थान्गावेलु, थेंगाई श्रीनिवासन, छो और नागेश सरीखे दिग्गज अभिनेताओं के साथ काम किया। 1000 फ़िल्में पूरी होने के साथ ही उनका नाम ‘गिनीज बुक ऑफ़ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड’ में दर्ज हो गया। वर्ष 2002 में भारत सरकार द्वारा उन्हें पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया।

Born in New York to TV news producer Sy Kravitz and actress Roxie Roker, Kravitz was exposed to the entertainment industry at a young age. Kravitz grew up in a musically diverse environment. His childhood was split between Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles, leading to his early passion for music, inspired by several genres and seeing The Jackson 5 live.
