प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वस्तु एवं सेवा कर – जीएसटी को तर्कसंगत बनाने को आज़ादी के बाद का सबसे बड़ा सुधार बताया है। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि इस कदम से मध्यम वर्ग के लोगों की जेब में पैसा आने की उम्मीद है। उन्होंने कहा कि जीवन रक्षक दवाओं जैसी ज़रूरी वस्तुओं पर कर पूरी तरह से समाप्त हो जाएगा। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि दोनों कर स्लैब 22 सितंबर, यानी नवरात्रि के पहले दिन से लागू हो जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों को नवरात्रि के पहले दिन से ही लाभ मिलना शुरू हो जाएगा और इस बार धनतेरस अधिक रौनक वाला होगा। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि उन्होंने लाल किले की प्राचीर से दिवाली और छठ से पहले नेक्स्ट जेनरेशन के जीएसटी सुधारों का “डबल धमाका” करने का वादा किया था।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि समय पर बदलाव किए बिना हम अपने देश को आज के वैश्विक संदर्भ में उसका उचित स्थान नहीं दिला सकते। उन्होंने कहा कि जीएसटी सुधारों ने देश की अर्थव्यवस्था में “पंच रत्न” को शामिल किया है। ये रत्न हैं- सरल कर प्रणाली, नागरिकों के लिए बेहतर जीवन स्तर, उपभोग और विकास को बढ़ावा, आसान व्यापार के माध्यम से निवेश और रोजगार सृजन को प्रोत्साहन और विकसित भारत के लिए सहकारी संघवाद को मज़बूत करना। जीएसटी परिषद ने बुधवार को कई वस्तुओं पर करों में कटौती की घोषणा की थी।

PM – HOME WORK
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that teachers generally give homework to their students but he wants to give one “homework” to teachers for a change, that is to lead campaigns along with their students to promote swadeshi products and give an impetus to “Make in India” and “vocal for local”. In an interaction with National Teacher awardees, Mr Modi asked schools to celebrate such occasions as ‘Swadeshi Day’ or ‘Swadeshi Week’ when students would bring local products from their homes and share their stories.
Mr Modi also encouraged the use of indigenous materials in art and craft classes and school celebrations to nurture a lasting sense of pride in Indian-made goods. He emphasised discussions on the origin, makers, and national importance of swadeshi products to foster deeper awareness. The Prime Minister said that there should be boards outside every house and shop of ‘har ghar swadeshi’.
The Prime Minister urged teachers to inspire students to understand that a nation dependent on others can never progress as rapidly as its true potential allows. He cited the example of India spending over 1 lakh crore rupees annually on edible oil imports.

भूटान के प्रधानमंत्री त्शेरिंग तोबगे ने कल बिहार के बोधगया में पवित्र महाबोधि मंदिर के दर्शन किए। श्री तोबगे ने यूनेस्को के विश्व विरासत स्थल महाबोधि मंदिर बोधगया में पूजा-अर्चना की। यह वही स्थान है, जहां भगवान बुद्ध को ज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ था। गया के जिला अधिकारी और बोधगया मंदिर प्रबंध समिति के अध्यक्ष शशांक शुभांकर और अन्य अधिकारियों ने श्री तोबगे का स्वागत किया। मंदिर प्रबंध समिति की सचिव डॉ महाश्वेता महारथी ने प्रधानमंत्री को महाबोधि महाविहार के ऐतिहासिक और आध्यात्मिक महत्व के बारे में जानकारी दी। अपने आतिथ्य के लिए आभार व्यक्त करते हुए, भूटान के प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि वे इस प्रतिष्ठित आध्यात्मिक विरासत स्थल से जुड़कर धन्य महसूस कर रहे हैं। श्री तोबगे की यात्रा भूटान और भारत के बीच सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान, मित्रता और आपसी सम्मान के चिरस्थायी बंधन को दर्शाती है तथा बोधगया की शाश्वत आध्यात्मिक विरासत के प्रति सम्मान को और मज़बूत करती है।

26 पश्चिमी देशों ने रूस-यूक्रेन संघर्ष समाप्त होने पर यूक्रेन में ज़मीन, समुद्र या हवाई मार्ग से सेना तैनात करने का आधिकारिक तौर पर संकल्प किया है। फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रों ने यूक्रेन का समर्थन करने वाले 35 देशों के शिखर सम्मेलन के बाद यह घोषणा की। इसे कोएलिशन ऑफ विलिंग कहा गया। श्री मैक्रों ने कहा कि 26 देशों ने युद्धविराम होने देश की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए यूक्रेन में सेना तैनात करने या ज़मीन, समुद्र या हवाई क्षेत्र में अपनी उपस्थिति बनाए रखने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई है। इससे पहले, श्री मैक्रों और अन्य यूरोपीय नेताओं ने यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर ज़ेलेंस्की और अमरीका के शांतिदूत, स्टीव विटकॉफ से मुलाकात की और संघर्ष के बाद दीर्घकालिक सैन्य समर्थन और अमरीका के समर्थन जारी रखने पर चर्चा की। श्री मैक्रों ने कहा कि हालाँकि अभी तक अमरीकी सेना की भागीदारी की पुष्टि नहीं हुई है, लेकिन गठबंधन के लिए अमरीका के समर्थन को जल्द ही अंतिम रूप दिया जाएगा।

Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, is being celebrated with religious fervour in various parts of the country today. “Milaad Mehfils”and “Seerat Conferences” will be held highlighting the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Keralites across the globe are celebrating Thiru Onam today. Thiru Onam is the biggest festival in Kerala and the entire state is in a festive mood for last couple of days.
Onam, celebrated by Keralites as the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali, who was loved by his subjects for being a just and benevolent ruler. This festival celebrated by Keralites, irrespective of caste and religion began 11 days ago with the Atham festival. Today marks Thiru Onam, the most significant day of the celebrations. The day started with Pookkalam, the traditional floral carpet, and will be highlighted by the grand feast served on plantain leaves, known as Ona Sadya. Across Kerala, official bodies, cultural organisations, and local communities are hosting a wide range of cultural programmes, traditional sports and other activities. In hockey, India registered a dominating 4-1 victory over Malaysia in the Super Four stage match of the Asia Cup championship at the Rajgir International Stadium. After facing an early setback in the first quarter the hosts bounced back and established control over the game till last. Manpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, and Vivek Sagar Prasad scored one goal each. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance.
With this win, India now tops the Super Four group with four points, also featuring Korea, Malaysia and China.
India will play China next in the Super 4 Pool stage tomorrow.
In other matches, China stunned Korea 3-0 in a Super 4 clash, maintaining their chances of finishing in the top two and reaching the final while Bangladesh beat Kazakhstan 5-1 in a playoff.

The comprehensive mark list of candidates who appeared for the common entrance examination for next year UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Coaching program conducted jointly by the All India Civil Services Coaching Centre and the Naan Mudhalvan competitive examinations wing has been released. From the candidates included in the mark list, 225 candidates will be selected for Chennai full time coaching, 100 candidates for Chennai Part time coaching, 100 candidates for Madurai full time coaching, and 100 Candidates for Coimbatore full time coaching, making a total of 525 candidates. From among the candidates included in the mark list, those who have applied will be called for counselling based on their rank and in accordance with the reservation rules. Candidates have been asked to select their preferences through online registration from 9th of September. After which counselling, certificate verification will be done. Coaching classes will begin from the 3rd next month.

Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara has welcomed the suggestion of The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry to utilise CSR funds to decongest traffic on Bengaluru roads. He said it will go a long way to help the police implement sustainable solutions to decongest the city roads. He was speaking at the award function organised by the Industry body in Bengaluru today. He pointed out that CSR is no longer an act of charity but a strategic investment in building stronger communities. CSR is not peripheral but central to the future of business and the future of our state. The Federation President M G Balakrishna has said that the CSR funds can help install solar powered traffic signals, zero waste police stations, setting up traffic outposts and such other initiatives in sync with global standards. He stressed that traffic congestion is a major urban challenge

The Commissioner of newly created Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Rajendra Cholan P has said that swift action will be initiated for creating pothole free roads, eliminating black spots and ensuring footpaths are free from encroachments. He instructed the officials to take precautionary measures in light of the ongoing rains in the city to prevent any untoward incidents and to take appropriate action regarding potholes and other related civil works. The Commissioner directed the officials to issue prior notices to footpath encroachers, followed by the clearance drives through intensive cleaning operations.

The Telangana State has sought immediate release of assistance of a total 16 thousand 732 crore rupees from the Centre to carry out rehabilitation works in rain-hit areas. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Agriculture Minister T. Nageswar Rao submitted a detailed memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi seeking financial assistance from the Centre. They informed that there were losses to a tune of over 11 thousand 713 crore rupees due to heavy rains in Khammam and other districts last year, and no special funds were released so far. The ministers explained that this year losses were estimated to over 5 thousand crore rupees due to recent heavy rains. The ministers urged immediate release of assistance to carry out rehabilitation works in the affected areas. An official release stated that the ministers also requested that a central government team be deputed to visit the flood-affected areas and assess the damage firsthand.
The release stated that 22 people have lost their lives and the loss of livestock, crop damage, and house damages are still being assessed. It may be known that unprecedented rainfall occurred across Telangana, with severe floods in Kamareddy, Medak, Nirmal, and Nizamabad districts which led to large-scale devastation and damage to infrastructure during the last week of August.

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्रालय की ओर से जारी की गई नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूशनल रैंकिंग फ्रेमवर्क – NIRF 2025 सूची में राजधानी के जवाहर लाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय ने दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया है। वहीं, जामिया मीलिया इस्लामिया ने चौथा, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय को पांचवां स्थान मिला है। इस उपलब्धि पर जेएनयू की कुलपति शांतिश्री धुलिपुडी ने कहा कि यह विश्वविद्यालय समुदाय के लिए यह गर्व की बात है। जामिया के कुलपति प्रो. आसिफ़ ने इस उपलब्धि का श्रेय जामिया परिवार, शिक्षकों, कर्मचारियों, छात्रों सहित आंतरिक गुणवत्ता प्रकोष्ठ को दी। डीयू के कुलपति प्रो. योगेश सिंह ने बताया कि कॉलेज श्रेणी में डीयू ने एक बार फिर राष्ट्रीय परिदृश्य पर अपना दबदबा बनाया है।

दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय छात्र संघ (डूसू) चुनाव समिति द्वारा बताया गया है कि डूसू चुनाव के लिए संभावित उम्मीदवार को केवल एक हलफनामा और एक लाख रुपये का जमानत बांड जमा करना होगा। संभावित उम्मीदवार को विश्वविद्यालय या अपने खाते में राशि जमा करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। यह जानकारी डूसू चुनाव के मुख्य चुनाव अधिकारी प्रो. राज किशोर शर्मा ने प्रेस वार्ता के दौरान दी।

राजधानी में लगातार तेज वर्षा के बाद यमुना नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ने से यमुना किनारे के कई इलाकों में पानी भर गया। कल दक्षिण पूर्वी दिल्ली के मदनपुर खादर विश्वकर्मा कॉलोनी जलमग्न हो गई है। जिसके बाद राहत बचाव कार्य के लिए एनडीआरएफ को तैनात किया गया है। मीडिया के साथ बातचीत में एनडीआरएफ इंस्पेक्टर मन प्यारे ने बताया कि अब तक कुल 171 लोगों को बचाया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों को राहत बचाव के बारे में बताया जा रहा है जिसके लिए पुलिस को भी तैनात किया गया है। वहीं, दिल्ली सरकार में मंत्री मंजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने बताया कि बाढ़ से राहत के लिए सारे इंतजाम कर लिए गए हैं और सरकार पूरी तरह से इस पर नजर बनाए हुए हैं।

कल – शनिवार को अनंत चतुर्दशी के साथ गणेशोत्सव का समापन हो रहा है, और लाखों भक्त शहर भर में गणेश प्रतिमाओं का विसर्जन करेंगे। सुरक्षा और व्यवस्था के लिए राज्य रिजर्व पुलिस बल, होमगार्ड के जवान, त्वरित प्रतिक्रिया दल, डॉग स्क्वॉड और बम निरोधक दस्ते के साथ 17,600 से ज़्यादा पुलिसकर्मी तैनात किए जाएँगे। लालबागचा राजा के लिए विशेष व्यवस्था के साथ, ड्रोन और 11,000 सीसीटीवी कैमरे विसर्जन स्थलों की निगरानी करेंगे। बीएमसी ने 2,100 से ज़्यादा लाइफगार्ड, 56 मोटरबोट और लगभग 300 कृत्रिम तालाब तैयार किए हैं।

इस बीच, बम्बई उच्च न्यायालय ने प्राकृतिक जलस्रोतों में पर्यावरण-अनुकूल गणपति प्रतिमाओं के विसर्जन की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया है। न्यायालय ने कहा कि व्यक्तिगत कठिनाई समुदाय के स्वच्छ वायु और जल के मौलिक अधिकार पर हावी नहीं हो सकती।

केंद्रीय कपड़ा मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह आज कोलकाता के तारातला में भारतीय जूट उद्योग अनुसंधान संघ (IJIRA) के एक कार्यक्रम में भाग लेंगे। बाद में वे उत्तर 24 परगना जिले के बैरकपुर में आईसीएआर-केंद्रीय जूट एवं संबद्ध फाइबर अनुसंधान संस्थान (सीआरआईजेएएफ) के एक कार्यक्रम में भी हिस्सा लेंगे।

दिल्ली – राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली में बादल छाए रहेंगे और आज भी हल्की से मध्यम वर्षा कई जगहों पर हो सकती है। तापमान 23 डिग्री से 33 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच रहने की संभावना है।
मुम्बई में भी बादल छाए रहने और मध्यम से तेज बारिश होने की संभावना है। न्यूनतम तापमान 24 और अधिकतम 30 डिग्री सेल्सियस के आसपास रहने का अनुमान है।

अब बात चिदंबरम पिल्लई की, जो तमिल भाषा के विद्वान् और प्रख्यात समाज-सुधारक थे। प्रसिद्ध तमिल ग्रन्थ ‘तिरुकुरल’ पर उनका भाष्य बहुत प्रसिद्ध हुआ। ‘बंग-भंग’ के विरुद्ध आंदोलन में चिदंबरम पिल्लई ने स्वदेशी का प्रचार किया और लोगों को विदेशी सरकार के विरुद्ध प्रेरित करने में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। ब्रिटिश सरकार ने चिदंबरम पिल्लई को देशद्रोही ठहराकर उन्हें आजीवन क़ैद की सज़ा सुनाई थी।

आज हम डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन की जयंती पर उन्हें नमन कर रहे हैं। 5 सितंबर 1888 को तमिलनाडु के तिरूतनी में जन्मे डॉ. राधाकृष्णन भारत के प्रथम उपराष्ट्रपति और दूसरे राष्ट्रपति बने। राष्ट्रपति पद को सुशोभित करने वाले डॉक्टर राधाकृष्णन भारतीय संस्कृति के महान ज्ञाता, शिक्षाविद, महान् दार्शनिक, महान् वक्ता होने के साथ ही साथ विज्ञानी हिन्दू विचारक थे। डॉक्टर राधाकृष्णन ने अपने जीवन के 40 वर्ष एक शिक्षक के रूप में व्यतीत किए थे। उन्हें एक आदर्श शिक्षक का सम्मान मिला और उनके जन्म दिन को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया गया।

डॉक्टर राधाकृष्णन का मानना था कि शिक्षा के माध्यम से ही मानव मस्तिष्क का सदुपयोग किया जा सकता है। अत: विश्व को एक ही इकाई मानकर शिक्षा का प्रबंधन करना चाहिए। ब्रिटेन के एडिनबरा विश्वविद्यालय में दिये अपने भाषण में डॉक्टर सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन ने कहा था कि ‘मानव को एक होना चाहिए। मानव इतिहास का संपूर्ण लक्ष्य मानव जाति की मुक्ति है। जब देशों की नीतियों का आधार पूरे विश्व में शांति की स्थापना का प्रयत्न हो।’ उच्च नैतिक मूल्यों को अपने आचरण में उतारने की प्रेरणा वह अपने छात्रों को देते थे। वह अपनी शैली से दर्शन जैसे गंभीर विषय को भी सरल, रोचक और प्रिय बना देते थे।

भारतीय फ़िल्म जगत को मधुर सुरों से सजाने वाले महान् संगीतकार सलिल चौधरी की आज पुण्यतिथि है। 19 नवम्बर, 1923 को पश्चिम बंगाल में जन्मे सलिल चौधरी के संगीतबद्ध गीत आज भी लोकप्रिय है। उन्होंने हिन्दी के साथ-साथ बंगाली और मलयालम फ़िल्मों के लिए भी संगीत दिया। सलिल चौधरी को एक प्रयोगवादी एवं प्रतिभाशाली संगीतकार के तौर पर जाना जाता है। इसकी झलक ‘मधुमती’, ‘दो बीघा जमीन’, ‘आनंद’ और ‘मेरे अपने’ जैसी फ़िल्मों के मधुर संगीत में दिखाई भी देती है। 1958 में विमल राय की फ़िल्म ‘मधुमति’ के लिए सलिल चौधरी सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीतकार के ‘फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किए गए। 1988 में उन्हें ‘संगीत नाट्य अकादमी पुरस्कार’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया। 1960 में आई फ़िल्म ‘काबुली वाला’ में ‘मन्ना डे’ का गाया गीत “ऐ मेरे प्यारे वतन..” आज भी श्रोताओं की आंखों को नम कर देता है।
