Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and West Bengal tomorrow. During the visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around 13 thousand crore rupees at Gaya in Bihar. Mr. Modi will inaugurate Aunta-Simaria bridge project on River Ganga that will enhance connectivity between North and South Bihar. He will also inaugurate the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur to Mokama section of NH-31 which will ease congestion, reduce travel time, and enhance passenger and freight movement. He will also lay the foundation stone for a series of urban infrastructure projects worth around 1,260 crore rupees. Mr Modi will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma. During his visit to West Bengal, Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth over 5,200 crore rupees. He will also flag off metro train services on the newly constructed sections in Kolkata. Mr Modi will also lay the foundation stone of 7.2 kilometre long six-lane elevated Kona Expressway worth over 1,200 crore rupees. This intiative will enhance connectivity between Howrah, the surrounding rural areas, and Kolkata.
From Gaya Ji, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects. He will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 660 Mega Watt Buxar Thermal Power Plant which has been completed at a cost of 6,880 crore rupees. In a major boost to health infrastructure, he will inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre at Muzaffarpur.
Under the Namami Gange programme, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and Sewerage Network at Munger, built at a cost of over 520 crore rupees. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has recorded all time highest net addition of 21.89 lakh members during the month of June this year. The figure represents an increase of 9.14 per cent, marking the highest recorded addition since payroll data tracking began in April 2018. In a statement, Ministry of Labour and Employment informed that around 10 lakh 62 thousand new subscribers have been enrolled in this month, representing a 12.68 per cent increase over May 2025 and a growth of 3.61 per cent compared to June previous year. The Ministry stated that around 6 lakh 39 thousand new subscribers were added in the 18-25 age group. Further, more than three lakh new female subscribers joined the EPFO, reflecting an increase of increase of approximately 15 per cent, compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, the scenic Dal Lake in Jammu & Kashmir is all set to host the first-ever Khelo India Water Sports Festival, starting today. The three-day event will witness over 400 athletes from 36 states and Union Territories vying for 24 gold medals in rowing, kayaking, and canoeing.
The festival also brings the thrill of demonstration events like water skiing, dragon boat races, and the vibrant shikhara boat sprint, aiming to boost both local tourism and interest in water sports. The Madras High Court refused to quash the resolution passed by the Chennai Corporation to privatise the garbage disposal work in Zones 5 and 6. Justice K.Surendar said that since the service of the workers is not terminated the question of retrenchment does not arise and disposed of the plea. On August 13, when the Court reserved its order on the plea, the workers submitted that they were willing to call off their agitation and resume work immediately, provided the GCC agreed to abide by the decision of the Industrial Disputes Tribunal in the case concerning the outsourcing of the garbage disposal.

The National Highway Authority of India has approved construction of a six lane flyover from Poonamallee to Maduravoyal. The elevated corridor will have entry and exit points at its origins and will not have any access ramps in between and will be toll charged. NHAI is also constructing another 4 lane Thiruvarur bypass in the Nagapattinam-Thanjavur section of NH 83.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar informed the Legislative Assembly that the crest gates at the Tungabhadra dam will be replaced. He elaborated that the Tungabhadra Dam Board has issued the tender for making 33 crest gates and six crest gates are getting ready at Gadag and Hosapete with fabrication work being completed. Saying that water cannot be released for the second crop due to crest gate installation, he said, we need to decide whether dam safety is important or the second crop. He added that the Government will take care of the farmers and also ensure the safety of the dam.

महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री अदिति तटकरे ने कल आदिशक्ति अभियान, मिशन वात्सल्य, मातृ वंदना योजना और बाल देखभाल योजनाओं के कार्यान्वयन की समीक्षा की। आदिशक्ति अभियान महिलाओं के स्वास्थ्य, कुपोषण, मातृ एवं शिशु मृत्यु दर में कमी और दुर्व्यवहार की रोकथाम पर केंद्रित है, जिसके लिए 36 जिलों और 150 तालुकों में समितियाँ पहले ही गठित की जा चुकी हैं। श्रीमति तटकरे ने एकल महिलाओं के लिए योजनाओं का विस्तार करते हुए विधवाओं और परित्यक्त महिलाओं को भी शामिल करने का निर्देश दिया और बाल देखभाल के लिए तत्काल धनराशि उपलब्ध कराने का आश्वासन दिया।

Hyderabad’s drinking water reservoirs have reached full capacity, providing relief to the city’s water supply systems due to the recent heavy rains. The early onset of the monsoon has ensured that reservoirs are filled well before the expected dates, easing earlier concerns over water scarcity. Compared to the month of August last year, water levels at all six drinking water sources, Osman Sagar, Himayat Sagar, Singur, Manjeera and two other tapping points on Krishna and Godavari Rivers, have recorded a notable rise this year.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, has issued flood warnings for Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs following heavy inflows from upstream areas. The floodgates of Singur and Manjeera were also opened recently to release surplus water after the reservoirs reached their full tank level capacity.

पुण्यतिथि, जयंती या जन्म दिन –
आज प्रख्यात शहनाई वादक उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह ख़ाँ की पुण्यतिथि है। उनके पिता भी एक शहनाई वादक थे। उन्होनें 6 साल की उम्र से ही शहनाई बजाना शुरू कर दिया था। वे गंगा घाट पर बैठकर घंटों रियाज़ करते थे। बिस्मिल्लाह खाँ ने शहनाई को भारत के बाहर एक विशिष्ट पहचान दिलवाने में मुख्य योगदान दिया। वर्ष 1947 में देश की आज़ादी की पूर्व संध्या पर जब लालकिले पर भारत का तिरंगा फहरा रहा था, तब बिस्मिल्लाह ख़ान की शहनाई ही थी जो आज़ादी का संदेश बाँट रही थी। बिस्मिल्ला ख़ाँ ने ‘बजरी’, ‘चैती’ और ‘झूला’ जैसी लोकधुनों में बाजे को अपनी तपस्या और रियाज़ से ख़ूब सँवारा और क्लासिकल मौसिक़ी में शहनाई को सम्मानजनक स्थान दिलाया।
Ustad Bismillah Khan, often referred to by the title Ustad,was an Indian musician credited with popularizing the shehnai, a reeded woodwind instrument. His virtuosity made him aleading Hindustani classical music artist, indelibly linking his name with the woodwind instrument. While the shehnai hadimportance as a folk instrument played primarily by musicians schooled intraditional ceremonies, Khan elevated its status and brought it to the concert stage.

आज विष्णु दिगम्बर पलुस्कर की पुण्यतिथि है। वे हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत के क्षेत्र में एक विशिष्ट प्रतिभा के धनी थे। उन्होंने भारतीय संगीत में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है। वे भारतीय समाज में संगीत और संगीतकार की उच्च प्रतिष्ठा के पुनरुद्धारक, संगीतगुरु और गायनकौशल के घनी भक्त हृदय गायक थे। विष्णु दिगम्बर पलुस्कर ने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दिनों में महात्मा गांधी की सभाओं सहित विभिन्न मंचों पर रामधुन गाकर हिन्दुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत को लोकप्रिय बनाया। पलुस्कर ने लाहौर में ‘गंधर्व महाविद्यालय’ की स्थापना कर भारतीय संगीत को एक विशिष्ट स्थान दिया।
उन्होनें तीन खंडों में ‘संगीत बाल-बोध’ नामक पुस्तक लिखी और 18 खंडों में रागों की स्वरलिपियों को संग्रहित किया। इसके अतिरिक्त पं. पलुस्कर ने ‘स्वल्पालाप-गायन’, ‘संगीत-तत्त्वदर्शक’, ‘राग-प्रवेश’ तथा ‘भजनामृत लहरी’ इत्यादि नामक पुस्तकों की रचना की।

Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar (18 August 1872– 21 August 1931) was a Hindustani musician. He was one of the greatest contributors to the field of Hindustani Classical music and is regarded asthe reviver of Hindustani music during the days of the freedom struggle. He is probably the first classical singer to organize public concerts.

आज भारत के प्रसिद्ध गांधीवादी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, शिक्षाविद, पत्रकार और लेखक काका कालेलकर की पुण्यतिथि है। वे देश की मुक्ति के लिए सशस्त्र संघर्ष के पक्षपाती थे। वर्ष 1915 में गाँधी जी से मिलने के बाद ही इन्होंने अपना सम्पूर्ण जीवन गाँधी जी के कार्यों को समर्पित कर दिया। गुजराती भाषा पर भी इनका अच्छा ज्ञान था। 1922 में ये गुजराती पत्र ‘नवजीवन’ के सम्पादक भी रहे थे। गांधी जी के नेतृत्व में जितने भी आन्दोलन हुए, काका कालेलकर ने सब में भाग लिया और कुल मिलाकर 5 वर्ष क़ैद में बिताए।
उन्हें उनके योगदान के लिए पद्म विभूषण और साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

आज भारत की आज़ादी के लिए संघर्ष करने वाले छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक वामनराव बलिराम लाखे की पुण्यतिथि है। 1913 में लाखे जी ने अपना कार्य क्षेत्र सहकारी आंदोलन को बनाया था, जिससे वे जीवन पर्यन्त जुड़े रहे। सहकारिता आंदोलन के जरिए दु:खी और शोषित किसानों की सेवा तथा सहयोग करना उनका प्रमुख उद्देश्य था। सन 1915 में रायपुर में ‘होमरूल लीग’ की स्थापना की गई थी। वामनराव बलिराम लाखे जी उसके संस्थापक थे। छत्तीसगढ़ में शुरू में जो राजनीतिक चेतना फैली, उसमें लाखे जी का बहुत बड़ा योगदान था। उन्होंने अपना सारा जीवन राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन और सहकारी संगठन में बिताया।

उनकी प्रमुख रचनाएँ हैं- ‘लिहाफ’, ‘टेढ़ी लकीर’, एक बात, कलियाँ, जंगली कबूतर, एक कतरा-ए-खून, दिल की दुनिया, बहरूप नगर, छुईमुई आदि। उन्हें उनके योगदान के लिए साहित्य अकादमी अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया है।
