जी श्रोताओं आज विश्व हाथी दिवस है। हर साल 12 अगस्त को हाथियों की रक्षा और संरक्षण के लिए ये दिवस मनाया जाता है। हाथी ज्ञान, शक्ति और संतुलन के प्रतीक माने जाते हैं। इस पहल का उद्देश्य एशियाई और अफ्रीकी दोनों हाथियों की घटती संख्या और उनकी समस्याओं के प्रति लोगों में जागरूकता फैलाना है।
World Elephant Day is observed annually on August 12 to raise awareness about the urgent plight of elephants. Established in 2012 by Canadian filmmaker Patricia Sims and the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation of Thailand, the day promotes conservation, ethical treatment, and protection of elephant habitats.
हाथी और इंसान का रिश्ता बहुत पुराना और प्रेम से भरा है. भारत में तो इन्हें भगवान गणेश का स्वरूप मानकर पूजनीय स्थान दिया जाता है. ये न सिर्फ ताकत और बुद्धिमत्ता के प्रतीक हैं, बल्कि हमारी संस्कृति, परंपरा और भावनाओं का भी अहम हिस्सा हैं। लेकिन शगुन इतना अच्छा बरताव होने के बावजूद जंगलों को काट कर इनके आवासों को नष्ट किया जा रहा है। और इनके घर में घुस कर इनका शिकार किया जा रहा है।
इंसान अपनी सुविधाओं के लिए जंगल खत्म कर रहे हैं या उसके बीच से रास्ता बना रहे हैं, जिसके कारण हाथियों का आवास छिन जाता है और उन्हें छोटे क्षेत्र में सिमट कर रहना पड़ता है।
उनके दांतों के लिए, लोग हाथियों का शिकार करते हैं और उन्हें गौर-कानूनी तरीकों से बेचते हैं। इसके कारण उनकी संख्या काफी घट गई है।
जलवायु परिवर्तन के कारण हाथियों को खाना और पानी खोजने में तकलीफ होती है, जिसका असर उनकी सेहत पर पड़ता है।
तो आज का दिन एक मौका है इन समस्याओं के बारे में बात करने का और इनका संभावित हल निकालने का.

Prime Minister Modi also heard Mr Zelenskyy’s perspectives on recent developments.
Prime Minister Modi spoke to President of Ukraine, ahead of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin talks, which will be held in Alaska on next Friday to discuss the future of the war in Ukraine. Mr Trump announced the meeting on social media and it was later confirmed by a Kremlin spokesperson, who said the location was quite logical given Alaska’s relative proximity to Russia.

आधार चेहरा प्रमाणीकरण प्रणाली ने 10 अगस्त, 2025 तक दो अरब लेनदेन का आंकड़ा पार कर बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है। केवल छह महीनों में लेनदेन की संख्या एक अरब से दोगुनी हो गई है।
इस प्रणाली से बिना किसी दस्तावेज़ या शारीरिक संपर्क के, केवल चेहरे का उपयोग करके पहचान सत्यापित की जाती है। सुरक्षित और तेज़ प्रणाली उपयोग कभी भी, कहीं भी किया जा सकता है।
भारतीय विशिष्ट पहचान प्राधिकरण चेहरा प्रमाणीकरण को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए सरकारी विभागों, बैंकों और सेवा प्रदाताओं के साथ मिलकर काम कर रहा है।
इस उपलब्धि के बारे में प्राधिकरण के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी भुवनेश कुमार ने कहा कि इतने कम समय में दो अरब आधार चेहरा प्रमाणीकरण लेनदेन तक पहुँचना, आधार के सुरक्षित, समावेशी और नवीन प्रमाणीकरण व्यवस्था में लोगों का विश्वास दिखाई देता है।

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that India can become an energy-exporting nation if the production and use of biofuels and green hydrogen are increased. Mr Gadkari was speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Bioverse’ initiative in Pune yesterday to mark World Biofuel Day. The Minister said the biofuel revolution will play a crucial role in reducing imports and boosting the rural economy. He also stressed the need for more research into producing clean fuels like green hydrogen from agricultural produces.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh during the next 7 days.
According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya is expected till Thursday. The IMD has issued red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in these states along with Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today. The weather agency also predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Bihar, Odisha. The weather agency further said that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is expected at isolated places over Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar islands today. In Boxing, India’s campaign at the Asian Under 19 & Under 22 Boxing Championships 2025 ended on a high note with Ritika winning gold in the women’s 80plus kg category yesterday. The event, held in Bangkok, saw India’s teams win a total of 27 medals across both age groups.
The U19 team performed strongly, finishing second overall with 14 medals including 3 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze. While the U22 team secured 13 medals, including 1 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze, with Ritika being the only gold medalist in this group.

In Wushu, India’s Namrata Batra is set to face Mengyue Chen of China in the women’s 52 kg final at World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China this evening. The much-anticipated gold medal match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM Indian Standard Time.
Namrata made history by reaching the final after defeating the Philippines’ Krizan Faith Collado 2-0 yesterday. She also secured at least a silver medal, guaranteeing India its first-ever World Games medal in Wushu. Earlier in the competition, Rishabh Yadav earned India’s first individual medal at the Games by winning bronze in the men’s compound archery event. Namrata comes into the final on a high, having clinched gold at last month’s Moscow Star International Wushu Championship ahead of the World Games, and she will be aiming to add the prestigious World Games gold medal to her growing list of achievements.

Indian Air Force is conducting an open recruitment rally in Chennai for unmarried youth to join as agniveer vayu. The tests will be held for men from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry including Yanam, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands on 2nd and 3rd September.
For male candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh , the tests will be held from 27th to 28th August. Male aspirants from Kerala and Karnataka can attend the tests from 30th to 31st August. During 5th and 6th, female candidates from all the above states will be admitted to undergo the qualifying tests. The venue for both men and women will be 8 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram.
Candidates should have passed ’10 plus 2′ or equivalent examination in any stream from the education boards recognised by the Central, State or Union Territories with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate and 50 percent marks in English.

सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय तथा राष्ट्रीय फिल्म विकास निगम द्वारा आयोजित हर घर तिरंगा-फिल्म महोत्सव नई दिल्ली में शुरू हो गया है। यह महोत्सव स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में हर घर तिरंगा अभियान के अंतर्गत 13 अगस्त तक सिरी फोर्ट ऑडिटोरियम में आयोजित किया जा रहा है। तीन दिवसीय महोत्सव का उद्देश्य लोगों में देशभक्ति की भावना को जगाना है।
इस अवसर पर दिल्ली के कला और संस्कृति मंत्री कपिल मिश्रा ने कहा कि हर घर तिरंगा अभियान देश के हर घर को एक ध्वज के नीचे लाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इस अभियान से लोगों में देशभक्ति की भावना मजबूत होगी और भाईचारा बढेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इस फिल्म महोत्सव के अंतर्गत राजधनी में देशभक्ति की ग्यारह फिल्में दिखाई जाएंगी।

दिल्ली सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र दिल्ली में आवारा कुत्तों को स्थायी रूप से आश्रय स्थलों में भेजने के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के आदेश का स्वागत किया है। दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में इस समस्या के बहुत गंभीर होने के कारण यह आदेश बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने व्यापक, सुव्यवस्थित योजना के माध्यम से इस समस्या का समाधान करने का आश्वासन दिया।
सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र दिल्ली में कुत्तों के काटने और रेबीज़ को नियंत्रित करने के लिए आवारा कुत्तों की नसबंदी कर स्थायी रूप से आश्रय स्थलों में भेजने के कड़े निर्देश जारी किए हैं।
न्यायालय ने कहा कि आवारा कुत्तों को एक बार पकड़े जाने के बाद सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रों में नहीं छोड़ा जाना चाहिए। ये निर्देश न्यायालय ने बच्चों पर आवारा कुत्तों के हमलों की रिपोर्टों पर आधारित एक स्वतः संज्ञान लेते हुए दिए हैं। पीठ ने आठ सप्ताह में कुत्तों के लिए आश्रय स्थल बनाने, उचित संख्या में कर्मचारियों और सीसीटीवी निगरानी की व्यवस्था करने का भी निर्देश दिया।

विक्रम साराभाई (अंग्रेज़ी: Vikram Sarabhai, जन्म- 12 अगस्त, 1919, अहमदाबाद; मृत्यु- 30 दिसम्बर, 1971, तिरुवनंतपुरम) को भारत के ‘अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम का जनक’ माना जाता है। इनका पूरा नाम ‘डॉ. विक्रम अंबालाल साराभाई’ था। इन्होंने भारत को अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान के क्षेत्र में नई ऊँचाईयों पर पहुँचाया और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानचित्र पर देश की उपस्थिति दर्ज करा दी। विक्रम साराभाई ने अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी समान रूप से योगदान दिया। वे अंत तक वस्त्र, औषधीय, परमाणु ऊर्जा, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और कई अन्य क्षेत्रों में लगातार काम करते रहे थे। ‘भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन’ (इसरो) की स्थापना उनकी महान् उपलब्धियों में एक थी। रूसी स्पुतनिक के प्रमोचन के बाद उन्होंने भारत जैसे विकासशील देश के लिए अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम के महत्व के बारे में सरकार को राज़ी किया।
Often regarded as the “Father of Indian space program”, Sarabhai was honored with Padma Bhushan in 1966 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1972.

आज सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता तेजी बच्चन की जयंति है। वह प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार हरिवंश राय बच्चन की पत्नी और भारतीय सिनेमा के महानायक अमिताभ बच्चन की माँ थीं। इनका जन्म एक सिक्ख परिवार में हुआ था। उन्हें अभिनय और गायिकी का शौक़ था। कॉलेजों के दिनों में उन्होंने कई नाटकों में अभिनय तथा गायन किया था। अमिताभ बच्चन में अभिनय के गुण अपनी माता तेजी बच्चन से ही आये थे। अपने समय में कवि हरिवंश राय बच्चन और तेजी बच्चन की जोड़ी भारत की चर्चित और लोकप्रिय जोड़ी मानी जाती थी। 2004 से तेजी बच्चन का अधिकतर समय बीमारी की वजह से अस्पताल में व्यतीत हुआ, और दिसम्बर, 2007 में उनका निधन हो गया।
