He said, in the last ten years, the NDA Government has striven to find stable solutions to problems that were plaguing the country. Mr. Modi said, the women and the youth of the country have always been a priority for his government.
Eleven seats in Maharashtra including Kolhapur, Hatkanangle and Latur will go to polls in the third phase.
Senior BJP leader Amit Shah yesterday addressed election rallies in Porbandar, Bharuch and Panchmahal in Gujarat.
Addressing a rally in Panchmahal, Mr. Shah said, the BJP government will implement the Uniform Civil Code once it returns to power. He said, BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has freed India from terrorism.
25 constituencies of Gujarat will go to polls in a single-phase in the third leg on 7th of next month.
कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने बेरोजगारी और महंगाई के मुद्दे पर प्रधानमंत्री के नेतृत्व वाली एनडीए सरकार की आलोचना की है। उन्होंने कल महाराष्ट्र के लातूर जिले में एक चुनावी रैली में कहा कि केंद्र सरकार में 30 लाख पद खाली पडे हैं, जबकि 70 करोड लोग बेरोजगार हैं। कांग्रेस महासचिव ने विपक्ष पर आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र सरकार अमीरों की ऋण तो माफ करती है, लेकिन किसानों के ऋण माफ नहीं कर पाती।
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has said that the party will release its next list of Lok Sabha candidates, including for Uttar Pradesh’s pending seats, within two days. Congress held a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting yesterday to discuss candidates for highly anticipated seats in Uttar Pradesh–Raebareli and Amethi. According to sources, a proposal was given from the UP Congress to the CEC that the Gandhi family should contest the Amethi and Raibareli seats and the decision was left to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Congress has not made any statements yet regarding the Amethi and Rae Bareli seats in Uttar Pradesh, which were considered strongholds for the Congress until the 2019 elections.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned, Washington will act if China does not stop supplying Russia with items used in its assault on Ukraine. Speaking to the media in Beijing, the US’s top diplomat said he had made clear to his counterparts they were helping fuel the biggest threat to European security since the Cold War. He did not say what measures the US was prepared to take. Mr Blinken also stressed he felt Beijing can play a constructive role in the Middle East, pointing towards China using its relationship with Iran to urge against further escalation in its confrontation with Israel. The visit to Beijing – the second in 10 months made by Mr Blinken – forms part of a significant increase in dialogue and diplomacy between these rival powers as they attempt to put relations on an even keel after a period of immense tension last year.

केंद्र सरकार ने बांग्लादेश, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, भूटान, बहरीन, मॉरीशस और श्रीलंका को 99 हजार मीट्रिक टन से अधिक प्याज के निर्यात की अनुमति दे दी है। सरकार ने पश्चिम एशिया और कुछ यूरोपीय देशों के लिए दो हजार मीट्रिक टन सफेद प्याज के निर्यात की भी अनुमति दी है।
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over East and south Peninsular India during the next four days. Severe heatwave conditions are also likely to prevail over Gangetic and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Odisha. Heat wave condition is also likely in Bihar, Jharkhand, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. IMD said, the maximum temperatures will rise by two to three degrees Celsius over East India and Maharashtra.
On the other hand, there is forecast of heavy rainfall over Northeast India during the next three days.
In Archery, India secured four gold medals and a silver in world cup stage 1 in Shanghai yesterday following a hat trick of Gold medals by Jyothi Surekha Vennam. Jyothi won Individual gold women’s compound defeating top seed, Andrea Becerra of Mexico in the final. Earlier, the team of Jyothi, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur emerged victorious in the women’s compound team final. In the compound mixed team final, Jyothi, and her partner Abhishek Verma defeated the Estonian twins in the final.

CHENNAI METRO
A couple of the Vande Bharat special trains operated by Southern Railway now run on longer dates. The Vande Bharat special from Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil will run until June 27 in both directions. The weekly Vande Bharat Special from Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through June 30. Up to June 30th, there will be three weekly Vande Bharat trains running from Nagercoil to Chennai Egmore.
BENGALURU METRO
The Election Commission of India has announced repoll in Polling booth number 146, Government Lower Primary school in the Indiganatha village coming under Chamrajnagar Parliamentary Constituency in Karnataka. The Commission has declared the election held on April 26 in this booth as null and void and announced April 29 as the fresh date for the repoll. The voting was disrupted in the said booth when a mob attacked the booth and destroyed the EVM. The villagers held a protest against the lack of amenities which later turned violent and a mob entered the polling booth and destroyed and burnt the EVM and the election material. There are a total of 538 voters allocated to this booth. An FIR has been booked against the villagers who disrupted the election on April 26th.
HYDERABAD METRO
In Telangana, the Communist party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India Marxists (CPI-M) are extending support to Congress in the Lok Sabha Elections in the state. Both the parties have withdrawn from the electoral battle except in Bhongir. CPIM has fielded its candidate in Bhongir.
However, CPM leaders held talks with PCC President and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding this yesterday. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr Reddy said he had held talks with the CPM leaders and appealed to them to support the Congress not only in Bhongir, but also in other constituencies to ensure that votes did not get split. He said they had also kept some other proposals before the CPM. CPM leaders agreed to support the Congress to defeat the BJP. However, it has to be seen whether CPI-M withdraws from Bhongir as tomorrow is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
राजधानी दिल्ली में अगले महीने होने वाले लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले सभी राजनीतिक दलों ने प्रचार-प्रसार तेज कर दिया है। सभी प्रत्याशी अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों में घर-घर जाकर जनसंपर्क कर रहे हैं और अपने पक्ष में वोट डालने की अपील कर रहे हैं। इसी कड़ी में कल उत्तर पूर्वी दिल्ली से भाजपा प्रत्याशी मनोज तिवारी ने अपने लोकसभा क्षेत्र के जीटीबी एनक्लेव में लोगों से जनसंपर्क किया और अपने पक्ष में वोट डालने की अपील की। वहीं, नई दिल्ली सीट से भाजपा प्रत्याशी बांसुरी स्वराज ने पहाड़गंज क्षेत्र में रोड शो किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने लोगों से भाजपा के पक्ष में मतदान करने का आग्रह किया। इसके अलावा, आम आदमी पार्टी के उम्मीदवार कुलदीप कुमार के समर्थन में मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की पत्नी सुनीता केजरीवाल ने कल्याणपुरी क्षेत्र में रोड शो किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने जनता से पार्टी उम्मीदवार को जिताने का आग्रह किया। आप पार्टी के प्रत्याशी सोमनाथ भारती ने कल कीर्ति नगर क्षेत्र में लोगों से घर-घर जाकर मुलाकात की और उन्हें जिताने की अपील की। इस दौरान उनके साथ क्षेत्र की निगम पार्षद अलका ढींगरा भी साथ रहीं। वहीं, चांदनी चौक लोकसभा सीट से कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी जयप्रकाश अग्रवाल ने भी अपने लोकसभा क्षेत्र में जनसंपर्क किया। दिल्ली में छठे चरण के तहत मतदान के लिए 29 अप्रैल को अधिसूचना जारी होगी और मतदान 25 मई को होगा। मतगणना 4 जून को संपन्न होगी।
दिल्ली भाजपा अध्यक्ष वीरेन्द्र सचदेवा ने कल पश्चिम दिल्ली क्षेत्र में लोकसभा चुनाव की तैयारियों को लेकर पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं और कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ चर्चा की। इस दौरान उन्होंने कार्यकर्ताओं से मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के झूठे वायदों को जनता के बीच लेकर जाने की बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि पार्टी के चुनाव प्रचार के दौरान दिल्ली सरकार के भ्रष्टाचार से राजधानी की जनता को अवश्य अवगत करवाना है।
आम आदमी पार्टी ने राजधानी में अगले महीने होने वाले लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले कल पार्टी मुख्यालय में वॉर रूम की शुरुआत की। पार्टी के दिल्ली प्रदेश संयोजक गोपाल राय और राष्ट्रीय सचिव पंकज गुप्ता ने इस वॉर रूम का उद्घाटन किया। लोकसभा चुनाव के लिए बनाये गए वॉर रूम में कुल 12 विभाग बनाए गए हैं, जिसमें डिजिटल मीडिया, मैनेजमेंट, डाटा मैनेजमेंट और लीगल टीमें शामिल हैं। दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी, कांग्रेस के साथ गठबंधन में चार लोकसभा सीटों पर चुनाव लड रही है। इन चारों लोकसभा क्षेत्रों में चुनावी अभियान की देख-रेख के लिए पार्टी ने एक-एक प्रभारी भी नियुक्त किया है। इस अवसर पर श्री राय ने बताया कि पार्टी ने कल से चुनावी अभियान के अंतर्गत दिल्ली में प्रचार-प्रसार तेज कर दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस बार राजधानी में आम आदमी पार्टी नहीं, बल्कि दिल्ली की जनता चुनाव लड़ रही है। श्री राय का कहना है कि मुख्यमंत्री की गिरफ्तारी का जवाब, दिल्ली की जनता अपने वोट से देगी।
भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने कल वकील उज्ज्वल निकम को मुंबई उत्तर मध्य निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से अपना उम्मीदवार घोषित किया। वर्तमान में इस संसदीय क्षेत्र से पूनम महाजन सांसद हैं। निकम ने 26/11 मुंबई आतंकवादी हमले सहित कई हाई-प्रोफाइल मामलों में विशेष लोक अभियोजक के रूप में काम किया है। निकम का मुकाबला कांग्रेस की वर्षा गायकवाड़ से होगा। मुंबई उत्तर मध्य निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में 20 मई को मतदान होगा।

अरुणाचल प्रदेश के राजीव गांधी विश्वविद्यालय के 27 छात्रों के एक दल ने शिक्षकों की देखरेख में कल आकाशवाणी कोलकाता स्टेशन का दौरा किया। यह टीम विश्वविद्यालय के पत्रकारिता एवं जनसंचार विभाग से संबंधित है। उन्होंने क्षेत्रीय समाचार इकाई कोलकाता के समाचार कक्ष और स्टूडियो का दौरा किया। उन्होंने यूनिट के कर्मचारियों से भी बातचीत की और देखा कि रेडियो समाचार कैसे बनाये और प्रसारित किये जाते हैं। टीम ने नियंत्रण कक्ष का भी दौरा किया और रेडियो से संबंधित विभिन्न कार्यों को देखा।

पेशवा बाजीराव प्रथम (श्रीमन्त पेशवा बाजीराव बल्लाळ भट्ट) (1700 – 1740) महान सेनानायक थे। वे 1720 से 1740 तक मराठा साम्राज्य के चौथे छत्रपति शाहूजी महाराज के पेशवा (प्रधानमन्त्री) रहे। इनका जन्म चितपावन कुल के ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ। इनको ‘बाजीराव बल्लाळ’ तथा ‘थोरले बाजीराव’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इन्हें लोग अपराजित हिन्दू सेनानी सम्राट भी कहते थे। इन्होंने अपने कुशल नेतृत्व एवं रणकौशल के बल पर मराठा साम्राज्य का विस्तार (विशेषतः उत्तर भारत में) किया। इसके कारण ही उनकी मृत्यु के 20 वर्ष बाद उनके पुत्र के शासनकाल में मराठा साम्राज्य अपने चरमोत्कर्ष पर पहुँच सका। बाजीराव प्रथम को सभी 9 महान पेशवाओं में सर्वश्रेष्ठ माना जाता है।
मस्तानी (अंग्रेज़ी:Mastani) मराठा पेशवा बाजीराव प्रथम की प्रेयसी थी। बाजीराव ने उसे अपनी दूसरी पत्नी का दर्जा दिया था। मस्तानी बहुत ही सुंदर होने के साथ-साथ कुशल घुड़सवार, तलवारबाज, युद्ध नीति की जानकार, धार्मिक अध्ययन और कविता करने वाली, अच्छी नर्तकी तथा गायिका भी थी। बाजीराव प्रथम और मस्तानी की प्रेम कहानी इतिहास की दिलचस्प प्रेम कहानियों में एक है। 28 अप्रैल, 1740 ई. को बाजीराव प्रथम की तबियत अधिक ख़राब होने के कारण उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। बाजीराव के देहान्त के कुछ दिनों बाद मस्तानी की भी मौत हो गई। मस्तानी की मृत्यु कैसे हुई, इस संबंध में कोई साक्ष्य नहीं है। लेकिन दंतकथाओं के अनुसार बाजीराव प्रथम की मौत की खबर सुनते ही मस्तानी ने अपनी अंगूठी में रखा ज़हर पीकर आत्महत्या कर ली। वहीं कुछ लोग ऐसा भी मानते हैं कि मस्तानी सती संस्कार की प्रथा अपनाते हुए बाजीराव की चिता पर सती हो गईं।
Madhusudan Das (28 April 1848 – 4 February 1934) was an Indian lawyer and social reformer, who founded Utkal Sammilani in 1903 to campaign for the unification of Odisha along with its social and industrial development. He was one of the prominent figure, helping in the creation of Orissa Province (present-day Odisha, India), which was established on 1 April 1936. He was also the first graduate and advocate of Orissa. He is also known as Kulabruddha (Grand Old Man), Madhu Babu, and Utkal Gouraba (Pride of Utkal). In Odisha, his birthday is celebrated as the Lawyers’ Day on 28 April.
सलीम गौस (अंग्रेज़ी: Salim Ghouse, जन्म- 10 जनवरी, 1952; मृत्यु- 28 अप्रॅल, 2022) बॉलीवुड, दक्षिण भारतीय और अंग्रेज़ी फिल्मों में अभिनय करने वाले, टेलीविजन और फिल्म अभिनेता थे। धारावाहिक ‘भारत एक खोज’ और ‘सरदारी बेगम‘ तथा ‘सोल्जर’ जैसी कई फिल्मों में अभिनय से उन्होंने अपनी एक विशेष पहचान बनाई थी।चेन्नई में जन्मे और वहीं शिक्षित हुए सलीम गौस ने बाद में एफटीआईआई, पुणे से स्नातक किया और फिर सिनेमाघरों में उतर गए। वह एक मार्शल आर्ट विशेषज्ञ भी थे। ‘भारत एक खोज’, ‘वागले की दुनिया’, ‘ये जो है जिंदगी’ और ‘सुबह’ में अपनी भूमिकाओं के लिए जाने जाने वाले सलीम गौस ने बॉलीवुड और दक्षिण भारत में समान लोकप्रियता हासिल की।
Mehtab (1913–1997) was an Indian actress of Hindi/Urdu films who worked from 1928 to 1969. She was born in Sachin, Gujarat, to a Muslim family and named Najma. Her father, Nawab Sidi Ibrahim Mohammad Yakut Khan III, was the Nawab of Sachin, near Surat in the state of Gujarat. Starting her career in the late 1920s with small roles in films like Second Wife (1928), Indira B. A. (1929) and Jayant (1929), she went on to do character roles before acting in the lead opposite Ashraf Khan in Veer Kunal (1932). After almost a decade of doing mainly action-oriented roles, she came into prominence with the Kidar Sharma-directed Chitralekha (1941).She married her early co-star Ashraf Khan with whom she had a son. They divorced later and she married Sohrab Modi in 1946. Modi cast her in the historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani (1953), which in spite of having spectacular scenes and lavish sets could not work well at the box office. She stopped acting in films following 1953 except to act in her last role as a character artist in Modi’s Samay Bada Balwan (1969). She died in Mumbai on 10 April 1997.
भानुमति अन्नासाहेब राजोपाध्येय (अंग्रेज़ी: Bhanu Athaiya; जन्म- 28 अप्रैल, 1929, कोल्हापुर; मृत्यु- 15 अक्टूबर, 2020, मुंबई) भारतीय सिनेमा में मशहूर ड्रेस डिज़ाइनर के रूप में जानी जाती थीं। वह ऐसी पहली भारतीय महिला रहीं, जिन्हें ‘ऑस्कर पुरस्कार’ से नवाजा गया था। भानु अथैया साढ़े पाँच दशक तक हिन्दी सिनेमा में सक्रिय रहीं। इस दौरान उन्होंने ड्रेस डिज़ाइनिंग को नित नये आयाम दिये। भानु अथैया ने फ़िल्म ‘गाइड’ में वहीदा रहमान, ‘ब्रह्मचारी’ में मुमताज, ‘सत्यम शिवम सुंदरम’ में जीनत अमान के वस्त्र डिजाइन किए थे। उन्हें प्रसिद्ध फ़िल्म निर्माता-निर्देशक रिचर्ड एटनबरो की फ़िल्म “गाँधी” के लिए सर्वेश्रेष्ठ ड्रेस डिज़ाइनर का ‘ऑस्कर’ मिला था।
