उपराष्ट्रपति जगदीप धनखड़ ने स्वास्थ्य कारणों का हवाला देते हुए अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु को लिखे पत्र में श्री धनखड़ ने कहा कि स्वास्थ्य प्राथमिकता और चिकित्सा परामर्श का पालन करते हुए उन्होंने तत्काल प्रभाव से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। श्री धनखड़ ने अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान राष्ट्रपति के निरंतर सहयोग के लिए उनका आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी और मंत्रिपरिषद के प्रति भी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त की। श्री धनखड़ ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री का सहयोग और समर्थन अमूल्य रहा है और उन्होंने अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान बहुत कुछ सीखा है। उन्होंने कहा कि सांसदों से मिले स्नेह और विश्वास को वे हमेशा अपनी स्मृति में संजोए रखेंगे।

बिहार देश का पहला राज्य बन गया है जहां प्रत्येक मतदान केंद्र पर एक हजार दो सौ से कम मतदाता होंगे। निर्वाचन आयोग ने कल यह घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि इस कदम का उद्देश्य लंबी कतारों को कम करना और मतदान प्रक्रिया को सुविधाजनक बनाना है। इसके लिए पूरे राज्य में बारह हजार 817 नए मतदान केंद्र बनाए गए हैं। इससे पहले प्रत्येक मतदान केंद्र पर एक हजार पांच सौ मतदाताओं की सीमा थी जिसे मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण – एसआईआर के अंतर्गत संशोधित करके एक हजार दो सौ किया गया है। इसके साथ ही बिहार में मतदान केंद्रों की कुल संख्या अब बढ़कर 90 हजार सात सौ बारह हो गई है।
निर्वाचन आयोग ने कहा है कि बिहार में जारी एसआईआर के दौरान अब तक सात करोड़ सोलह लाख से अधिक गणना प्रपत्र जमा किए जा चुके हैं। आयोग ने बताया है कि पहली अगस्त से मतदाता सूची के मसौदे में कोई भी व्यक्ति किसी मतदाता का नाम जोड़ने, हटाने या सुधार करने से संबंधित आपत्तियां दर्ज करा सकता है।

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) will phase out its existing travel cards and migrate entirely to the Singara Chennai National Common Mobility Card from 1st of next month. From that date, top up services for the older CMRL travel cards will be discontinued across all 41 metro stations. Other ticketing methods such as QR tickets will remain unchanged. Commuters holding the old CMRL cards can continue using their cards until the balance is exhausted Once the residual value falls below Rs.50. Passengers must surrender the card at any metro station counter. They will then receive a Singara Chennai Card free of charge, with the remaining balance and deposit amount transferred to the new NCMC card for continued use.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called on the district collectors and all department heads to remain on high alert to ensure public safety and uninterrupted services in the wake of heavy rains in some parts of the state. In a high-level review meeting through a video conference from Hyderabad last evening, he expressed concern that some parts of the state witnessed heavy rains during the past few days necessitating immediate preparedness at all levels. राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ वायु कार्यक्रम -एनसीएपी के अंतर्गत भारतीय महानगरों में पीएम10 प्रदूषण के स्तर में मुंबई में सबसे ज़्यादा गिरावट दर्ज की गई है। सोमवार को संसद में पेश किए गए आँकड़ों के अनुसार, शहर में 2017-18 की तुलना में 2024-25 में पीएम10 के स्तर में 44 प्रतिशत की कमी दर्ज की गई। मुंबई में पीएम10 की औसत सांद्रता 2017-18 के 161 माइक्रोग्राम प्रति घन मीटर से घटकर 2024-25 में 90 माइक्रोग्राम प्रति घन मीटर हो गई, जो एनसीएपी के तहत निरंतर प्रयासों के कारण वायु गुणवत्ता में उल्लेखनीय सुधार दर्शाता है। अधिकारियों ने इसे प्रदूषण नियंत्रण उपायों के कारगर होने का स्पष्ट संकेत बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुंबई स्वच्छ वायु की दिशा में एक अग्रणी उदाहरण के रूप में उभर रहा है।
