Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three other crew members of Axiom-4 mission will return to earth today after spending 18 days at the International Space Station (ISS). They departed from the orbiting laboratory ISS yesterday onboard the SpaceX Dragon for approximately 22-hour journey to Earth. The splashdown is expected to take place off the coast of California in US at 3 pm IST today.
Axiom-4 mission’s space odyssey began on June 25 when the Falcon-9 rocket carrying the Dragon space capsule blasted off from Florida towards the ISS. Group Captain Shukla is only the second Indian to have gone to space. His trip came 41 years after cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma flew aboard a Russian Soyuz in 1984. During his stay aboard the ISS, Mr Shukla conducted seven India-specific microgravity experiments, showcasing India’s growing capabilities in space science and technology. These experiments are designed to generate critical data for future planetary missions and long-duration space habitation. On Sunday, NASA’s Expedition Crew organised a traditional farewell ceremony for the Axiom-4 crew. Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Mr Shukla described his space journey as truly incredible.
This mission, dubbed Akash Ganga, is a collaborative effort between Axiom Space, NASA, and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It represents a significant step forward in India’s human spaceflight ambitions, including the upcoming Gaganyaan mission and the proposed Bhartiya Antariksha Station. India has achieved a landmark in its energy transition journey by reaching 50 per cent of its installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources – five years ahead of the target.
This significant milestone underscores the country’s steadfast commitment to climate action and sustainable development, and signals that India’s clean energy transition is not only real but also accelerating. India’s progress assumes greater significance in the global context. Despite having one of the lowest per capita emissions globally, India remains among the few G20 countries that are on track to meet – or even exceed – their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) commitments. By achieving the 50 per cent non-fossil milestone well ahead of schedule, India further reinforces its leadership as a clean energy frontrunner, demonstrating that economic growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand, the statement pointed out. दिल्ली में, अब हरित वर्ग के उद्योगों को पर्यावरणीय मंज़ूरी बीस दिन के भीतर देनी होगी। दिल्ली के पर्यावरण और उद्योग मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने कहा कि कारोबारी सुगमता के लिए समय-सीमा को एक सौ बीस दिन से घटाकर बीस दिन कर दिया गया है। इस अवधि के भीतर मंज़ूरी न मिलने पर हरित वर्ग के उद्योगों के आवेदन अगस्त महीने से स्वत: स्वीकृत मान लिए जायेंगे। इस पहल से दिल्ली में सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम क्षेत्र को गति मिलने की संभावना है।

शंघाई सहयोग संगठन के दस सदस्य देशों मे भारत, चीन, रूस, ईरान, कज़ाकिस्तान, किर्गिज़िस्तान, पाकिस्तान, ताजिकिस्तान, उज़्बेकिस्तान और बेलारूस शामिल हैं। फिलहाल चीन इस संगठन का अध्यक्ष है।

Income Tax Survey and Raid actions are underway in various parts of Tamil Nadu at 18 locations in the cases of persons who facilitated fake deductions under various sections of the IT Act and claim tax refunds fraudulently.
It has come to light that these persons have aided thousands of taxpayers in filing incorrect Income Tax returns, making bogus deduction claims under various heads such as Political donations under section 80-GGC, medical reimbursements and others. As a result, bogus refunds have been appropriated running into Crores, thereby defrauding the Government.
It is also seen that the intermediaries have canvassed thousands of taxpayers, including employees of government entities and serving and retired personnel from defence forces across several states, through closed Whatsapp and Telegram groups and word of mouth.

दिल्ली नगर निगम ने ग्रीन एक्सन प्लान 2025 के अन्तर्गत सात लाख से अधिक पौधे लगाने का अभियान शुरू किया है। निगम के अनुसार अब तक 66 हजार से अधिक पौधे लगाए जा चुके हैं।

दिल्ली मेट्रो आज से अगले महीने की 14 तारीख तक 11वां ऑनलाइन ग्राहक संतुष्टि सर्वेक्षण – 2025 आयोजित करेगी। इस सर्वेक्षण का मुख्य उद्देश्य मेट्रो सेवाओं और सुविधाओं के विभिन्न घटकों पर यात्रियों से प्रतिक्रिया एकत्र करना है ।

मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि राजधानी की सांस्कृतिक और ऐतिहासिक विरासत के प्रचार-प्रसार और संरक्षण को बढावा देने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार टूरिज्म एंड हेरिटेज फेलोशिप प्रोग्राम शुरू कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसके तहत 40 युवाओं का चयन किया जाएगा और उन्हें प्रति माह पचास हजार रुपये दिए जाएंगे।

Bengaluru South MP – Tejasvi Surya has strongly come out against the tunnel road project in Bengaluru. Addressing media persons in Bengaluru, he said that the proposed tunnel road project by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister – D K Shivakumar is unscientific which will spell doom for the city’s worsening traffic crisis.
He termed the proposed tunnel road from Hebbal to Silk Board and from K R Puram to Nayandahalli as a vanity project that will serve only the elite. He charged that the feasibility study and Detailed Project Report of the tunnel corridor prepared at a cost of 9.5 crore rupees were copies of the BMRCL report that cost only 1.6 crore rupees.
He also alleged that the consultants who prepared the report were blacklisted by the Madhya Pradesh Government and another one is involved in a scam in Jammu and Kashmir.
Instead of the tunnel road project, MP Tejasvi Surya suggested improvement of public transport options, increasing state road transport buses in the city and increasing metro rail connectivity.

A computer awareness programme was held at the Government School for the Visually Impaired in Darulshifa In Old City of Hyderabad yesterday.
National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun Lecturer – Dr K Srinivas Reddy was the chief guest. Dr Reddy highlighted the importance of special education and how advancements in education, technology, and vocational training can help visually impaired students achieve independence and success.
He said that with effective use of technology, visual impairment need not be a barrier to growth. During the event, a local donor announced that identity cards would be arranged for all students.

बाल गन्धर्व (अंग्रेज़ी: Bal Gandharva; मूल नाम: ‘नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस’; जन्म- 26 जून, 1888 ई., पुणे, महाराष्ट्र; मृत्यु- 15 जुलाई, 1967, पुणे) मराठी रंगमंच के महान् नायक और प्रसिद्ध गायक थे। उन्होंने रंगमंच पर अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत सर्वप्रथम शकुंतला का चरित्र निभाकर की थी। नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस को ‘बाल गन्धर्व’ के नाम से अधिक जाना जाता है। यह नाम उन्हें भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक बाल गंगाधर तिलक ने दिया था। बाल गन्धर्व मराठी रंगमंच पर महिला चरित्रों को निभाते थे, क्योंकि तत्कालीन समय में महिलाएँ रंगमंच पर किसी भी प्रकार की भूमिका नहीं निभाती थीं। ‘संगीत नाटक अकादमी’ से उन्हें सर्वोत्तम अभिनेता का पुरस्कार मिला। 1964 में राष्ट्रपति ने उन्हें ‘पद्मभूषण’ के अलंकरण से सम्मानित किया था।

His career as a playwright produced four classics, and his best short stories are highly regarded by writers and critics. Chekhov’s plays, such as The Seagull (written in 1895), Uncle Vanya (written in 1897), The Three Sisters (written in 1900), and The Cherry Orchard (written in 1903) served as a revolutionary backbone to what is common sense to the medium of acting to this day: an effort to recreate and express the realism of how people truly act and speak with each other. कैप्टन नीकेझाकू केनगुरुसे (अंग्रेज़ी: Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, जन्म- 15 जुलाई, 1974; मृत्यु- 28 जून, 1999) भारतीय सेना में सैन्य अधिकारी थे जो नागालैंड से थे। उन्हें मरणोपरांत वर्ष 1999 में कारगिल युद्ध में ऑपरेशन के दौरान युद्ध में अनुकरणीय वीरता के लिए भारत के दूसरे सर्वोच्च वीरता पुरस्कार ‘महावीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया था। कैप्टन नीकेझाकू ने करगिल युद्ध के दौरान तोलोलिंग को पाकिस्तानियों से मुक्त कराने के लिए भेजी गई टुकड़ी का नेतृत्व किया था। सेना अधिकारी कैप्टन नीकेझाकू और उनकी टुकड़ी ने पांच दिन तक चली भीषण लड़ाई में पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों को परास्त कर तोलोलिंग रिजलाइन पर तिरंगा झंडा फहरा दिया था, लेकिन 18 जून 1999 को हुई मोर्टार गोलाबारी में उनकी जान चली गई। नागालैण्ड की राजधानी कोहिमा निवासी कैप्टन नीकेझाकू को ‘महावीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया।

Celeste Holm (April 29, 1917 – July 15, 2012) was an American actress. Holm won an Academy Award for her performance in Elia Kazan’s Gentleman’s Agreement (1947) and was nominated for her roles in Come to the Stable (1949) and All About Eve (1950). She is also known for her performances in The Snake Pit (1948), A Letter to Three Wives (1949), and High Society (1956). तुलसी मुण्डा (अंग्रेज़ी: Tulasi Munda, जन्म- 15 जुलाई, 1947) उड़ीसा की एक प्रख्यात सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता हैं, जिन्हें पद्म श्री (2001) से सम्मानित किया गया है। तुलसी मुण्डा ने आदिवासी लोगों के बीच साक्षरता के प्रसार के लिए बहुत काम किया। उन्होंने उड़ीसा के खनन क्षेत्र में एक विद्यालय स्थापित करके भविष्य के सैकड़ों आदिवासी बच्चों को शोषित दैनिक श्रमिक बनने से बचाया है। तुलसी मुंडा ने स्कूल एक महुआ के पेड के नीचे शुरू किया था। पर बच्चों की संख्या बढ़ने पर उन्होंने स्कूल बनाने की योजना बनाई। इसके लिए भी एक बड़ी जरूरत पैसों की होती जो तुलसी मुंडा के पास नहीं थी। अत: उन्होंने गांव वालों को स्वयं ही पत्थर काटकर स्कूल बनाने की प्रेरणा दी। 6 महीने में स्कूल बनकर तैयार हो गया। दो-मंजिला इस स्कूल को ‘आदिवासी विकास समिति स्कूल’ का नाम दिया गया।
यह स्कूल सिर्फ सेरेना गांव के बच्चों को ही नहीं आसपास के कई अन्य गांवों के लिए प्राथमिक शिक्षा का केंद्र है।
