लोकसभा चुनाव के दूसरे चरण के लिए तैयारियां जोरों पर हैं। इस चरण में 12 राज्‍यों और एक केंद्रशासित प्रदेश की 88 सीटों के लिए मतदान 26 अप्रैल को होगा। इसमें केरल की 20, कर्नाटक की 14, राजस्‍थान की 13, उत्तर प्रदेश और महाराष्‍ट्र की 8-8, मध्‍य प्रदेश की 6 असम और बिहार की 5-5, पश्चिम बंगाल और छत्तीसगढ की 3-3 और मणिपुर, त्रिपुरा तथा जम्‍मू और कश्‍मीर की 1-1 सीट पर मतदान होगा। मध्‍य प्रदेश की बेतूल संसदीय सीट पर दूसरे चरण में होने वाला मतदान बहुजन समाज पार्टी के प्रत्‍याशी के निधन के कारण तीसरे चरण में होगा। इस चरण में कुल एक सौ 98 प्रत्‍याशी चुनाव मैदान में है। बाहरी मणिपुर लोकसभा सीट के शेष भाग के लिए भी मतदान इसी चरण में होगा।

इसी बीच, तीसरे चरण के मतदान के लिए चुनाव प्रचार तेज हो गया है। इस चरण में 12 राज्‍यों की 94 सीटों पर सात मई को वोट डाले जाएंगे। तीसरे दौर में कुल एक हजार तीन सौ इक्‍यावन उम्‍मीदवार मैदान में हैं। गुजरात की सभी 25, असम की 4, बिहार की 5, छत्‍तीसगढ की 7, उत्‍तरप्रदेश की 10, महाराष्‍ट्र की 11, कर्नाटक की 14, पश्चिम बंगाल की 4, मध्‍यप्रदेश की 9, गोआ तथा दादरा और नगर हवेली की दो-दो और जम्‍मू कश्‍मीर की एक सीट पर मतदान होगा।

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar have expressed condolence over the demise of BJP MP Rajveer Singh Diler from Hathras Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also condoled the demise of MP Rajveer Singh Diler. In his condolence message, the Prime Minister said that he is deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr Diler and it is a big loss for the party.

Mr. Rajveer Singh Diler died yesterday of a heart attack. He was 65.

भारतीय रक्षा सचिव गिरिधर अरमाने आज कजाख्‍स्‍तान की राजधानी अस्‍ताना में आयोजित शंघाई सहयोग संगठन-एससीओ के रक्षा मंत्रियों के वार्षिक सम्‍मेलन में भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का प्रतिनिधित्‍व करेंगे। इस सम्‍मेलन में एससीओ देशों के क्षेत्रीय मुद्दों और आपसी रक्षा सहयोग से जुडी पहलों की समीक्षा की जाएगी। दो दिवसीय यात्रा के दौरान रक्षा सचिव मंत्री स्‍तरीय वार्ता में भारत का पक्ष रखेंगे।

In Chhattisgarh, eighteen Maoists, including a militia platoon commander and three women, surrendered before the police  in Dantewada district yesterday. These Maoists have surrendered before Deputy Inspector General of Police Kamlochan Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai, under the Lone Varatu campaign.
The Superintendent of Police said, all these surrendered Maoists will be given an incentive amount of twenty-five thousand rupees each and all other benefits under the rehabilitation scheme of the Chhattisgarh government,’.

In Kenya, the death toll from the ongoing floods has risen to 38, with over 110,000 people displaced.
The African nation has registered heavy rain since mid-March but downpours have intensified over the past week, leading to mass flooding. The Kenyan Red Cross says it has carried out over 188 rescues since the onset in March.
Some roads in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi were closed Wednesday and several neighborhoods remained submerged after another day of heavy rainfall. The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of “heavy to very heavy” rainfall in parts of the country.

US President Joe Biden has signed a 95 billion US dollar package of aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Speaking from the White House after signing the bill on Wednesday, President Biden said it was a good day for America, a good day for Ukraine and a good day for world peace. He spoke a day after the US Senate approved the aid package following months of negotiations and debate. It was passed in a bipartisan vote of 79-18 in the Senate.

मौसम विभाग ने अगले पांच दिन के दौरान देश के पूर्वी और दक्षिण प्रायद्वीपीय क्षेत्रों में भीषण गर्मी की स्थिति जारी रहने का अनुमान व्‍यक्‍त किया है। तटीय ओडिसा, पश्चिम बंगाल के गंगीय क्षेत्रों और तराई वाले इलाके, सिक्किम और कर्नाटक के भीतरी भाग में लू चल सकती है। बिहार, झारखंड, तटीय आंध्र प्रदेश, तेलंगाना और पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश में भी तेज लू की आशंका है। मध्य और पूर्वी भारत में अधिकतम तापमान दो से तीन डिग्री सेल्सियस बढ़ सकता है। दूसरी ओर, उत्‍तर – पश्चिम भारत में रविवार तक बारिश का अनुमान व्‍यक्‍त किया गया है।

In IPL Cricket, Delhi Capitals defeated Gujarat Titans by four runs in high scoring thriller at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi lastnight. Chasing the mammoth target, Gujarat finished at 220 for 8 in their 20 overs with the help of Sai Sudarshan’s 65 off 29  and David Miller’s 55 off 23.  For Delhi, Rasikh Salam picked up three wickets.

Chennai City Police ‘s Canine squad has got three Belgian Shepherd puppies.The City police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore said that the new puppies will be given special training to work in coordination with the police, ensuring the continued success of the sniffer dog squad in maintaining public safety. The puppies named Charles, Lando and Carlos will be under the supervision of the sub inspectors of Police in the dog squad. Till now there are 21 sniffer dogs  with specialised training.

The curtains have come down on public election campaigns in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies going to the polls on April 26 in Karnataka. The silence period began at 6.00 pm yesterday signalling an end to the political campaigns. The political parties can canvas for votes with less than five people today. The political functionaries who are not the voters of these constituencies have to move out. However this restriction is not applicable to the general public and tourists. The Political parties are prevented from setting up polling booths within 200 metres radius of a polling station. Only one booth is allowed per location of a polling station, regardless of auxiliary stations. At booths only a simple voter slip without the name and symbol of the political party can be distributed to help voters  locate their booths.

In Telangana, 230 candidates have filed over 300 sets of nominations for the 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies in the state on the penultimate day yesterday.  The total number of nominations received by the Returning Officers till yesterday reached over 850 by 547 candidates. This is on account of multiple nominations filed by candidates in a few Lok Sabha constituencies. A majority of independent candidates filed their nominations from different constituencies and the final list of valid contestants will be known only after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations on 29th of this month. Meanwhile, the deadline for filing nominations will come to a close by 3PM today.

उत्‍तर रेलवे ने पेयजल की बर्बादी को रोकने के लिए वंदे भारत ट्रेनों में, यात्रियों को 500 मिलीलीटर की पानी की बोतल देने का निर्णय लिया है। रेलवे ने कहा कि अगर किसी यात्री को और पानी की आवश्‍यकता होगी, तो उन्‍हें 500 मिलीलीटर की एक और पानी की बोतल दी जाएगी। इसके लिए रेलवे द्वारा यात्रियों से कोई अतिरिक्‍त शुल्‍क नहीं लिया जाएगा।

आईआईटी दिल्‍ली ने दिव्‍यांग छात्रों के लिए संस्‍थान में बुनियादी सुविधाएं मुहैया कराई है। इसके तहत कक्षाओं में रैम्‍प और लिफ्ट में ब्रेल साइनेज लगाया गया है। संस्‍थान की ओर से जारी विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार मुख्य प्रशासनिक भवन में दिव्यांग छात्रों के लिए एक पोर्टेबल शौचालय की सुविधा उपलब्‍ध कराई गई है। आईआईटी परिसर के पास दिव्यांग छात्रों के परिवहन के लिए एक सुलभ ई-कार्ट की भी व्यवस्था की गई है। इसके अलावा दिव्यांग छात्रों के लिए ऊंची टेबल और व्हीलचेयर लगाया गया है, ताकि उन्‍हें प्रयोगशाला में किसी तरह की परेशानी न हो।

मुंबई के मलाड इलाके में बुधवार को एक निर्माणाधीन इमारत के 40 फीट गहरे सेप्टिक टैंक में गिरने से दो मजदूरों की मौत हो गई, जबकि एक अन्य मजदूर की हालत गंभीर है। नगर निगम के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि यह दुर्घटना अपराह्न करीब 3:50 बजे हुई और प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार, कम से कम 3 से 4 लोग भूमिगत सेप्टिक टैंक में गिर गए।

मध्‍य रेलवे ने, यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया सीएसआर फाउंडेशन ट्रस्ट के सहयोग से, भायखला में भारतरत्न डॉ. बाबासाहेब अंबेडकर मेमोरियल हॉस्पिटल के सर्जरी विभाग को एक अत्याधुनिक डबल बैलून एंटरोस्कोप दान करके स्वास्थ्य सेवा में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर स्‍थापित किया है। मध्‍य रेलवे की एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार, 50 लाख रुपये मूल्य के इस अत्याधुनिक उपकरण का उद्देश्य चिकित्सा देखभाल को आगे बढ़ाना और जरूरतमंद रोगियों को लाभ पहुंचाना है।

गर्मी के मौसम के दौरान मुंबई से उत्तर के लिए अधिक ट्रेनों की भारी मांग को ध्यान में रखते हुए, रेलवे ने यात्रियों की अतिरिक्त भीड़ को कम करने के लिए मुंबई और गोरखपुर के बीच 28 अतिरिक्त ग्रीष्मकालीन विशेष रेलगाडियां चलाने का निर्णय लिया है। रेलवे द्वारा दी गई जानकारी के मुताबिक गोरखपुर-लोकमान्य तिलक टर्मिनस-गोरखपुर स्पेशल 28 फेरे लगाएगी।

सबसे पहले याद करते हैं उस्ताद बड़े ग़ुलाम अली ख़ाँ को जिनकी गणना भारत के महानतम गायकों व संगीतज्ञों में की जाती है। वे विलक्षण और मधुर स्वर के स्वामी थे। इनके गायन को सुनकर श्रोता अपनी सुध-बुध खो देते थे। भारत के कोने-कोने से संगीत के पारखी लोग ख़ाँ साहब को गायन के लिए न्यौता भेजते थे। क्या राजघराने क्या मामूली स्कूल के विद्यार्थी, ख़ाँ साहब की मखमली आवाज़ सभी को मंत्रमुग्ध कर देती थी। दिल को छू जाने वाली आवाज़ के मालिक उस्ताद बड़े ग़ुलाम अली ख़ाँ ने नवेली शैली के ज़रिए ठुमरी को नई आब और ताब दी। जानकारों के मुताबिक़ उस्ताद ने अपने प्रयोगधर्मी संगीत की बदौलत ठुमरी को जानी-पहचानी शैली की सीमाओं से बाहर निकाला!

Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan  was an Indian vocalist, from the Kasur Gharana. Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was born in Kasur, of the erstwhile Punjab Province, British India in 1902. Following partition of India in 1947, Kasur Tehsil was allocated to Pakistan. At the age of five, Bade Ghulam began training in vocal music from his chacha Kale Khan, and later from his father. He had three younger brothers namely Barkat Ali Khan, Mubarak Ali Khan and Amanat Ali Khan.

अपने सधे हुए कंठ के कारण बड़े ग़ुलाम अली ख़ाँ ने बहुत प्रसिद्धि पाई। 1919 में लाहौर के संगीत सम्मेलन में इन्होंने अपनी कला का पहली बार सार्वजनिक प्रदर्शन किया। फिर कोलकाता और इलाहाबाद के संगीत सम्मेलनों में इन्हें देशव्यापी ख्याति प्रदान की। भारतीय संगीत के फलक पर 1930 के दशक में सितारे की तरह चमके इस गायक ने साल 1938 में तत्कालीन कलकत्ता में हुए एक कार्यक्रम में दुनिया के सामने पहली बार अपनी आवाज़ का जादू बिखेरा। उन्‍हें पद्म भूषण और संगीत नाटक अकादमी सम्मान से नवाज़ा गया है।

Devika Devadoss was an Indian actress who worked in Telugu and Tamil along with a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. She was one of the popular lead actresses in the 1960s. Devika is the daughter of Gajapati Naidu and the grand daughter of Telugu cinema doyen and pioneer Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. One of her uncles, C. Basudev, was a Mayor of Chennai. Actress Kanaka is her only daughter.

In Tamil, she has acted with all major heroes of the day. In Mudhalali, an AVM film, in which she made her debut, she paired with S. S. Rajendran. The film received a certificate as the for the year from the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil.

She paired with M. G. Ramachandran in Anandha Jodhi. She won accolades from viewers for the role she played in this film.

With Sivaji Ganesan she has acted in films like Karnan, Kulamagal Radhai, Andavan Kattalai, Anbu Karangal, Annai Illam, Paava Mannippu, Muradan Muthu, Neela Vaanam and Bale Pandiya.

Her role in Sumaithaangi was very moving. Though she is paired with Gemini Ganesan in this film, the relationship did not culminate in marriage and the end was a tragedy. This was a film by Sridhar.

She acted in some other Sridhar films like Nenjam Marappathillai and Nenjil Or Aalayam. The song Sonnadhu Nee thaanaa in Nenjil or Aalayam became a hit because of her acting, apart from the lyrics and music.

Devika was admitted to Madras Hospital when she complained of chest pain and after a few days she died following a heart attack.

भारत के सुप्रसिद्ध शास्त्रीय गायकों में शुमार पंडित राजन मिश्रा का स्‍मरण करते हैं जिनकी आज पुण्‍य तिथ‍ि है। पंडित राजन मिश्रा अपने भाई साजन मिश्रा के साथ जुगलबंदी करते थे। शास्‍त्रीय गायन इस जोडी को पूरे विश्व में प्रसिद्धी हासिल हुई। 400 साल की पारिवारिक परम्परा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए दोनों भईयों- ने भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। उन्हें संगीत जगत में बहुत ही सम्मान से देखा जाता है। बनारस घराने में जन्मे पंडित राजन और पंडित साजन मिश्रा को संगीत की शिक्षा उनके दादा जी पंडित बड़े राम जी मिश्रा और पिता पंडित हनुमान मिश्रा ने ही दी थी। साल 2007 में भारत सरकार द्वारा कला के क्षेत्र में राजन मिश्रा को पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था। पंडित राजन मिश्रा का 2021 में 25 अप्रैल को कोरोना के कारण निधन हो गया।

Shahu Modak was an Indian actor who acted in many Hindi as well as Marathi movies. Shahu Modak was mostly famous for the mythological characters that he played. He mostly played the roles of Krishna, and Jñāneśvar.

Shahu Modak was born in a Marathi Christian family of Ahmednagar on 25 April 1918. Shahu Modak died on 11 May 1993.
Shahu Modak acted in numerous films from 1932 to 1986. He played lord Krishna’s character in around 30 movies. He also sang two songs for movie Bharat Milap.

भारतीय सिनेमा में अपने समय के ख्यातिप्राप्त पटकथा लेखक पण्डित मुखराम शर्मा की आज पुण्‍य तिथ‍ि है। मेरठ से मायानगरी मुंबई पहुँचे पण्डित मुखराम शर्मा ने फ़िल्मी दुनिया में बतौर कथा, पटकथा और संवाद लेखक नाम बनाया। वर्ष 1942 में उन्हें राजा नेने द्वारा निर्देशित फ़िल्म “दस बजे” के गीत लिखने का मौका मिला, फ़िल्म एक सुपर हिट रही। अगली फ़िल्म “तारामती” लिखी। यह फ़िल्म न सिर्फ़ एक बड़ी हिट सबित हुई बल्कि मुखरामजी द्वारा इसके तुरंत बाद लिखी गईं अगली दो फ़िल्मों ‘विष्णु भगवान’ और ‘नल दमयंती’ को भी सफ़लता मिली।

उनकी मराठी फ़िल्म “स्त्री जन्मा तुझी कहानी” को भारी सफ़लता मिली। इस फ़िल्म की सफलता यादगार रही।
मुख्य फ़िल्में- ‘वचन’, ‘घराना’, ‘धूल का फूल’, ‘दादी माँ’, ”संतान’, ‘पतंगा’, ‘दो कलियाँ’, ‘राजा और रंक’, ‘एक ही रास्ता’

पंडित मुखराम शर्मा ने अपने बेहतरीन काम के लिए कई पुरस्कार भी जीते। वर्ष 1950 से 1970 तक उनके उल्लेखनीय पुरस्कारों में तीन ‘फ़िल्मफ़ेयर पुरस्कार’ भी थे, जो उन्हें फ़िल्म ‘औलाद’, ‘वचन’ और ‘साधना’ के लिए मिले थे।
