आज 11वां अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापत्तनम में आयोजित मुख्य योग सत्र में समग्र राष्ट्र का नेतृत्व करेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री के साथ केन्द्रीय आयुष राज्य मंत्री प्रतापराव जाधव, आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन. चन्द्रबाबू नायडू सहित तीन लाख से अधिक प्रतिभागी योग सत्र में शामिल होंगे। इनमें भारतीय नौसेना के ग्यारह हजार नौ कर्मी भी शामिल हैं। योग सत्र विशाखापत्तनम के आर. के. बीच से भोगपुरम तक लगभग 26 किलोमीटर के दायरे में आयोजित होगा। विशाखापत्तनम समुद्र में भी भारतीय नौसेना और तटरक्षक बल के जहाजों में योग प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा।
आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार इस अवसर पर पंजीकृत प्रतिभागियों को पचास लाख योग प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान करेगी। योग को प्रतिदिन के जीवन में शामिल करने के उद्देश्य से केन्द्र और राज्य आज संयुक्त घोषणा- विशाखापत्तनम योग संकल्प जारी करेंगे।
योग दिवस पर समग्र देश में योग सत्रों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। आयुष मंत्रालय के सहयोग से भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण के सभी स्मारक परिसर में योग सत्र आयोजित होंगे। दिल्ली में ऐतिहासिक लाल किला, कर्नाटक में गोल गुम्बज, ओडिशा में कोर्णाक सूर्य मंदिर, राजस्थान में चित्तौड गढ़ किला, महाराष्ट्र में एलिफैंटा गुफा सहित ऐतिहासिक स्थलों पर हजारों प्रतिभागी एक साथ योग करेंगे। लाल किले पर आयुष मंत्रालय, मोरारजी देसाई राष्ट्रीय योग संस्थान और भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण के समन्वय से आयोजित कार्यक्रम में ब्रह्मकुमारियां भी शामिल होंगी।
अनेक केन्द्रीय मंत्री और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति देश के विभिन्न स्थलों पर योग सत्रों में शामिल होंगे। अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस की इस वर्ष की थीम है- एक पृथ्वी, एक स्वास्थ्य के लिए योग। इन भव्य आयोजनों का उद्देश्य भारत की सांस्कृतिक विरासत और प्राचीन आरोग्य अभ्यासों को बढ़ावा देना है।

A special evacuation flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan landed in New Delhi in the wee hours today bringing Indians from Iran home. With this, so far 517 Indian nationals from Iran have returned home under Operation Sindhu. The Operation has been launched to evacuate Indian nationals from Iran in view of the deteriorating situation due to ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Last night, a flight carrying 290 Indian nationals also arrived in New Delhi.

Moving on to the world of sports, India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra won the men’s javelin throw competition of the Paris Diamond League 2025 at Stade Sébastien Charléty last night. “The 27-year-old Chopra outclassed Germany’s Julian Weber who finished second with 87.88 meter throw. This is the first time in this season that Neeraj has been able to get the better of Weber. Neeraj also took the revenge of Doha Diamond League concluded last month, where Weber nicked Neeraj with a personal best throw of 91.06 meters with his final attempt of the night.
Moving to Test Cricket, India were 359 for 3 at stumps on the opening day of first match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Leeds. Union Minister for steel H.D Kumarasamy today reviewed the Salem Stainless Steel plant at Salem. The Minister visited the manufacturing unit of the Plant. He was shown the trays used at Tirupathi Temple, New Pressure Cooker, Steel sheets for roofs and other units. Today the Minister will take part in the Yoga program at the campus of the Salem Stainless Steel plant. Union Minister of State for information and broadcasting Dr.L.Murugan will be participating in the yoga demonstration to be held at the National Institute of Siddha.

Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A.Arun issued a directive banning heavy vehicles including water tankers from entering the city during peak hours which coincide with school timings. He warned that any violations would result in stringent action against the officials concerned. The commissioner instructed traffic policemen across Chennai city, especially in school and college zones to prevent the entry of heavy vehicles during restricted hours.

Southern Railway launched a telemedicine link to bring specialist care to remote railway units. An integrated telemedicine facility in railway hospitals and health units has been launched. She was speaking at a two day International Conference on ‘Disaster Resilience: Community based systems to save lives and preserve health’. The top bureaucrat in the state said that during disasters, it is public volunteers standing shoulder to shoulder with the government disaster management team that helps with relief measures. Over 800 delegates from disaster management authorities, armed forces, healthcare institutions, academia, civil society and youth networks participated in the Conference.

The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad has improved its position in the QS World University Rankings 2026, by securing a global rank of 664. This marks a significant rise from last year’s position in 681-690 band. An official release stated that, IIT-H secured a place in the top 10 per cent of global institutions in citations per faculty. It also said this metric, which evaluates research influence, had seen the highest growth among all evaluated indicators, showcasing the increasing global recognition of IIT-H faculty contributions.

आज के दिन ही हम अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मना रहे हैं, योग भारत की एक प्राचीन परंपरा है। अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाने का प्रस्ताव भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2014 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में रखा था. इसे रिकॉर्ड 175 देशों का समर्थन मिला और 11 दिसंबर 2014 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 21 जून को आधिकारिक रूप से ‘अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस’ घोषित कर दिया।
“Yoga is an invaluable gift from our ancient tradition. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action … a holistic approach [that] is valuable to our health and our well-being. Yoga is not just about exercise; it is a way to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.” But yoga is more than a physical activity.
Yoga, an ancient practice and meditation, has become increasingly popular in today’s busy society. For many people, yoga provides a retreat from their chaotic and busy lives

आज लोकगायक जीत सिंह नेगी की पुण्यतिथि है। वे उत्तराखंड के ऐसे पहले लोकगायक थे, जिनके गीतों का ग्रामोफोन रिकॉर्ड 1949 में जारी हुआ। उन्होनें दो हिंदी फिल्मों में बतौर सहायक निर्देशन किया। वह संगीतकार और रंगकर्मी भी थे। उनके नाटक ‘शाबासी मेरो मोती ढांगा…’ ‘रामी बौराणी…’ ‘मलेथा की गूल…’ काफी लोकप्रिय हुए। वह पहले ऐसे गढ़वाली लोकगायक भी रहे, जिनके किसी गीत का ऑल इंडिया रेडियो से प्रसारण हुआ।

Gideon Sundback Born April 24, 1880 – Died June 21, 1954 Swedish-born engineer improved on Whitcomb Judson’s work, making the zipper practical and commercially successful. Today, thousands of miles of zipper are manufactured daily.
Working from Elias Howe’s “Automatic, Continuous Clothing Closure” patent of 1851, Judson, in 1891, created a clasp locker for shoes and established the Universal Fastener Company. Although initially successful, Judson’s locker lacked reliability, so he hired Sundback to make it reliable and practical.

आज साहित्यकार विष्णु प्रभाकर की जयंती है। उन्होनें कहानी, उपन्यास, नाटक, जीवनी, निबंध, एकांकी, यात्रा-वृत्तांत और कविता आदि प्रमुख विधाओं में अपनी बहुमूल्य रचनाएँ की हैं। प्रभाकर जी ने आकाशवाणी, दूरदर्शन, पत्र-पत्रिकाओं तथा प्रकाशन संबंधी मीडिया के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में ख्याति प्राप्त की थी।
उनकी मुख्य रचनाएँ हैं – ‘अर्द्धनारीश्वर’, ‘आवारा मसीहा’, ‘क्षमादान’ तथा ‘पंखहीन’ (आत्मकथा) आदि।
उन्हें भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्म भूषण’ और साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है।

आज भारत के प्रसिद्ध लेखक, उपन्यासकार, नाटककार, आलोचक तथा व्यंग्यकार की जयंती है। कहानी, कविता, उपन्यास, आलोचना, नाटक, इतिहास, संस्कृति और समाज शास्त्रीय क्षेत्र जैसी अनेक विधाओं में ऐतिहासिक हस्तक्षेप उनके लेखन की बड़ी पहचान है।
सन 1951 से मुद्राराक्षस की प्रारंभिक रचनाएं छपनी शुरू हुईं। करीब दो साल में ही वे एक चर्चित लेखक हो गए थे। ‘ज्ञानोदय’ और ‘अनुव्रत’ जैसी तमाम प्रतिष्ठित साहित्यिक पत्रिकाओं का कुशल सम्पादन कार्य भी मुद्राराक्षस जी ने किया था।
