Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Puri said that the country has adequate energy supplies for the coming months. He informed this in a social media post after holding a review meeting yesterday with the Petroleum Secretary and heads of Indian energy public sector undertakings. The oil supply update by the minister attaches importance, given that the international oil prices shot up sharply yesterday after Israeli attack on Iran. India imports 150 billion US dollar worth of energy annually, and imports provide over 80 per cent of its crude oil requirement.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is investigating tax evasion and laundering of unaccounted income by high-risk persons through investment in crypto currency. Sources in the CBDT said that such entities and individuals which are engaged in Virtual Digital Asset (VDA) transactions and have failed to comply with the Income-tax Act, 1961 have been identified for verification. Sources added that Data analytics has shown that significant number of persons have violated provisions of the Income Tax Act by not filing Schedule VDA of the ITR and offering tax on the income earned at lower rate.

The Ministry of Ayush will host Yoga Connect, a hybrid global summit on Yoga for One Earth, One Health in New Delhi today. The summit is being organised as a key lead-up event to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st of this month. Today event will bring together over 1,000 participants, along with virtual attendees from leading international yoga institutions and wellness communities around the world.
Experts from more than four countries, including Bahrain, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, will join the summit. The Yoga Prabhava’ Report- Impact study of International Day of Yoga over the decade will be released during the summit.

The match is set to begin at 2 PM Indian standard time. The pressure is mounting on the Indian side to break their four-match losing streak with just 15 points from 12 games and sitting at fifth place.
While, the Women’s Hockey Team is set to kick off the second and final leg of the League, facing Australia, Argentina, Belgium, and China in the European leg. The IIT Madras students have built solar powered cars to take part in a global contest. The car named Aagneya developed by Team Agnirath from Centre for Innovation is all set to take part in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge that features a 3000 km drive from Darwin to Adelaide scheduled to be held from 24th to 31st August 2025. The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is recognised as the most demanding engineering competition in the World. Aagneya is made of a carbon fibre body making it one of the largest hand layup processes ever performed by a student team in India. Team Agnirath’s journey was supported by sponsors Game Change Solar, Billion Mobility, Charge Zone and COEZET. The students have upgraded the solar panel efficiency from 19 percent to 24 percent allowing them to harness more energy even under variable conditions. Battery pack was also optimised and reduced from 5.5 Kwh cutting down weight without compromising performance. The students have integrated a machine learning based strategy module that makes real time decisions during the race, factoring in weather, solar irradiance, and terrain, among other factors.

A former curator and an accountant of the Government museum in Egmore have been sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment each for criminal conspiracy and misuse of public funds. This followed a detailed trial that traced a 3.4 lakh scam to forged records and fake remittances entries between 2003 and 2004. The curator and the accountant were ordered to pay a penalty of Rs. 2 lakh and 1.5 lakh respectively. The Court rejected pleas for leniency stating their age and ailments did not outweigh the seriousness of the offence and breach of public trust. The scam was uncovered when a committee, constituted by the Government museum administration officials found that 81 thousand 429 from entry ticket and publication sales 32 thousand from theatre deposits and Rs. 2,28 thousand 440 from other heads had not been remitted to the treasury.

The Namma Saalai mobile app currently used to register complaints on highways department roads will soon be expanded to cover road work across all departments. The officials have been directed to integrate road related data from all departments into the app within a month. While Greater Chennai Corporation has the Namma Chennai app, the highway department uses its own. The Highways app receives about 50 to 75 complaints a day from across the State, whereas the civic corporation’s app receives around 50.

The Institution of Agricultural Technologists in Bengaluru has organised Desi Seeds Festival for two days starting today. Over 300 Indigenous seeds germination experts, agri scientists, agri enthusiasts and consumers from across the country will share their experiences in the event to be held at the institute. The organic farmers association, Crops4HD and Key Stone have joined hands with the institute to organise the event. Over 1500 Indian seeds varieties preserved since several generations will be on display. Over 50 stalls will exhibit the Indian organic varieties of millets, pulses, vegetables, greens and roots. Seminars and workshops are organised to educate farmers about the resilience of Indian seed varieties that can withstand the impact of climate change. They will be told to cultivate Indian seed varieties that can eliminate many problems faced by them.

In a coordinated operation with the Telangana Police, the Department of Tele communications (DoT) has busted an illegal telecom setup in Secunderabad that was facilitating the unlawful routing of international calls to Indian customers using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) technology. The DoT has intensified its crackdown on telecom fraud and cybercrime. An official release stated that the Hyderabad unit of DoT, acting on specific intelligence and analysis, identified the illegal operation and swiftly moved in to dismantle the setup. A SIP server, three laptops, one monitor and related network equipment was seized. Calls were found to be routed from Middle-East and America, but showing local Indian numbers.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said educational standards in government schools remains a top priority of the government and it will invest further to ensure quality education for every child in the state. At a review meeting with senior officials in Hyderabad last evening, he announced that 571 new government schools will be set up this academic year with more than 20 children in both rural and urban areas. He said it is to address the gaps in access and infrastructure. He directed officials to focus on language proficiency and skill development for students, emphasising that the curriculum must evolve to make students not only academically competent but also future-ready.

दिल्ली की बीजेपी सरकार जल्द ही नई आबकारी नीति लाने जा रही है। इस नीति का मुख्य उद्देश्य अच्छी शराब की उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करना और बिक्री तथा वितरण प्रणाली को पारदर्शी, आधुनिक और जवाबदेह बनाना है। दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कल बताया कि नई नीति में आबकारी प्रणाली में कई सुधार किए जाएंगे, जिसमें शराब की गुणवत्ता का वैज्ञानिक परीक्षण, बिक्री प्रणाली का डिजिटलीकरण, अवैध बिक्री पर सख्त कार्रवाई और लाइसेंसिंग प्रक्रिया में पारदर्शिता लाना शामिल है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुख्य सचिव धर्मेंद्र कुमार की अगुवाई वाली समिति आबकारी नीति के हर पहलू पर बारीकी से काम कर रही है। मुख्यमंत्री श्रीमती गुप्ता ने यह भी बताया कि उच्च स्तरीय समिति हितधारकों के साथ विचार-विमर्श कर रही है और एक व्यापक आबकारी नीति तैयार करने के लिए अन्य राज्यों में लागू सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं का अध्ययन कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह काम इस महीने के अंत तक पूरा हो जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने पिछली सरकार की आबकारी नीति पर कटाक्ष करते हुए उसे भ्रष्ट, पक्षपाती और जनहित विरोधी बताया।

दिल्ली के ऊर्जा मंत्री आशीष सूद ने राजधानी में बढ़ते बिजली लोड को देखते हुए सभी बिजली कंपनियों को उनके बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत करने, पुराने ग्रिडों को बदलने और नई तकनीक अपनाने के निर्देश दिए हैं। ऊर्जा मंत्री ने शहर में बिजली की बढ़ती मांग को देखते हुए बिजली कंपनियों और ऊर्जा विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ समीक्षा बैठक की थी। इस दौरान श्री सूद ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता के नेतृत्व में दिल्ली सरकार हर नागरिक को सुचारू और निर्बाध बिजली उपलब्ध कराने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने पीएम सूर्यघर योजना के तहत सोलर पैनल लगाने को बढ़ावा देने के भी निर्देश दिए।

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कल शुक्रवार को इस साल के अंत में होने वाले दो प्रमुख सिख धार्मिक स्मारक कार्यक्रमों के लिए पूर्ण सरकारी सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया। अपने आधिकारिक निवास ‘वर्षा’ में संतों, महंतों और समुदाय के नेताओं के साथ बैठक में बोलते हुए, मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य गुरु तेग बहादुर जी के 350वें शहीदी समागम और गुरु गोविंद सिंह जी के 350वें गुरु-ता-गद्दी समागम के आयोजन में पूरा सहयोग करेगा। ये कार्यक्रम 15-16 नवंबर को नांदेड़ में, 6 दिसंबर को नागपुर में और 21-22 दिसंबर को नवी मुंबई में आयोजित किए जाएंगे। सीएम फडणवीस ने जोर देकर कहा कि औरंगजेब के अत्याचारी शासन के अंतर्गत गुरु तेग बहादुर जी की शहादत को न्याय और धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता के लिए बलिदान के प्रतीक के रूप में याद किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि इस तरह के कार्यक्रम युवा पीढ़ी को यह विरासत सौंपने के लिए जरूरी हैं। उन्होंने समागम को समुदायों में एकता को बढ़ावा देने और यह सुनिश्चित करने का अवसर बताया कि सिख गुरुओं का समृद्ध इतिहास भविष्य की पीढ़ियों को प्रेरित करता रहे।

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने अधिकारियों को वधोना-पिंपलखुटा लिफ्ट सिंचाई योजना पर काम में तेजी लाने का निर्देश दिया है, जिससे 7,100 हेक्टेयर से अधिक सिंचाई के अंतर्गत आरवी और करंजा तालुका के 31 गांवों को लाभ होगा। वर्धा के आरवी विधानसभा क्षेत्र में विकास परियोजनाओं पर शुक्रवार को एक समीक्षा बैठक की अध्यक्षता करते हुए, सीएम ने निर्देश दिया कि सिंचाई परियोजना का प्रस्ताव 15 जुलाई तक राज्य तकनीकी सलाहकार समिति को सौंपा जाए और फिर इसे मंजूरी के लिए कैबिनेट के समक्ष पेश किया जाए।

कोलकाता के मेयर फिरहाद हकीम ने शुक्रवार को संवाददाताओं को बताया कि कई बार कोर्ट के आदेश के कारण शहर में अवैध निर्माण को ध्वस्त नहीं किया जा सकता। ऐसे मामलों में कोलकाता नगर निगम निर्माण के सामने एक होर्डिंग लगाएगा। इसमें ध्वस्तीकरण कार्य को स्थगित करने के कारणों का उल्लेख किया जाएगा। कोलकाता के मेयर ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि केएमसी की छवि को और अधिक पारदर्शी बनाने के लिए यह निर्णय लिया गया है।

और इससे पहले कि हम इतिहास के पन्नों को पलटें अपने श्रोताओं को जानकारी दे दें कि आज विश्व रक्तदान दिवस है जो विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन द्वारा हर साल 14 जून को मनाया जाता है। वर्ष 1997 में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने 100 फीसदी स्वैच्छिक रक्तदान नीति की नींव डाली और वर्ष 1997 में ही संगठन ने यह लक्ष्य रखा था कि विश्व के प्रमुख 124 देश अपने यहाँ स्वैच्छिक रक्तदान को ही बढ़ावा दें। उद्देश्य यह था कि रक्त की ज़रूरत पड़ने पर उसके लिए पैसे देने की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़नी चाहिए, पर अब तक लगभग 49 देशों ने ही इस पर अमल किया है।
World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) is held on June 14 each year. The event was organised for the first time in 2004, by four core international organizations: the World Health Organization, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations (IFBDO) and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood. World Blood Donor Day is one of 11 official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with World Health Day, World Chagas Disease Day, World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Patient Safety Day, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World Hepatitis Day, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week and World AIDS Day.

उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ (अंग्रेज़ी: Asad Ali Khan, जन्म: 1937 अलवर – मृत्यु: 14 जून 2011, दिल्ली) को रुद्रवीणा वादक के नाम से आज पूरे भारत में जाना जाता है। उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ को वर्ष 2008 में पद्मभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था। श्री असद अली ख़ाँ आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन के उच्च श्रेणी के कलाकार थे। पुरस्कारों की बात करें तो उस्ताद असद अली ख़ाँ को वर्ष 2008 में भारत सरकार द्वारा पद्मभूषण, वर्ष 1994 में मध्य प्रदेश शासन द्वारा तानसेन सम्मान तथा वर्ष 1977 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी सम्मान आदि से विभूषित किया जा चुका है।

He played a leading role in establishing the distinct identity of Odia, Senapati is regarded as the father of Odia nationalism and modern Odia literature.
Mayadhar Mansingh had described Senapati as the Thomas Hardy of Odisha. Though he translated from Sanskrit, wrote poetry, and attempted many forms of literature, he is now known primarily as the father of modern Odia prose fiction. His four novels, written between 1897 and 1915, reflect the socio-cultural conditions of Odisha during the eighteenth and the nineteenth centuries. While the three novels, Chha maana Atha Guntha, Mamu and Prayaschita explore the realities of social life in its multiple dimensions, ‘Lachhama’ is a historical romance dealing with the anarchical conditions of Odisha in the wake of Maratha invasions during the eighteenth century.

K.Asif (born Karimuddin Asif; 14 June 1922 – 9 March 1971) was an Indian film director, film producer and screenwriter who is known for his epic film, Mughal-e-Azam (1960)
His directorial debut, Phool (1945), did very well at the box-office. In 1944, Asif planned to make a film called Mughal-e-Azam based on the life and times of Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great’s court dancer, based on an Urdu novel ‘Anarkali’ written by Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj, with Chandramohan in the male lead and the then upcoming actress Nargis in the female lead.He produced the film Hulchul and released it in 1951. At that time, Asif recast Mughal-e-Azam with Dilip Kumar in the male lead and Madhubala in the female lead and began the production of the film in the same year. In 1960, after twelve years in production, Mughal-e-Azam was released and became a huge hit at packed cinema houses across India.

सुशांत सिंह राजपूत (अंग्रेज़ी: Sushant Singh Rajput, जन्म- 21 जनवरी, 1986, पटना, बिहार; मृत्यु- 14 जून, 2020, मुम्बई, महाराष्ट्र) भारतीय फ़िल्म अभिनेता, थियेटर और टीवी कलाकार थे। उन्होंने सबसे पहले ‘किस देश में है मेरा दिल’ नामक धारावाहिक में काम किया, लेकिन उनको पहचान एकता कपूर के धारावाहिक ‘पवित्र रिश्ता’ से मिली। इसके बाद उन्हें फ़िल्मों के प्रस्ताव मिलना शुरू हुए। उनकी पहली फ़िल्म ‘काय पो छे!’ थी, जिसमें उनके अभिनय की काफी तारीफ़ भी हुई। ‘काय पो छे’ के बाद सुशांत सिंह राजपूत ‘शुद्ध देसी रोमांस’ में वाणी कपूर और परिणीति चोपड़ा के साथ दिखे। फ़िल्म सफल रही और सुशांत का फ़िल्मी कॅरियर परवान चढ़ गया।

Bharatbhushan Gupta, better known as Bharat Bhushan (14 June 1920 – 27 January 1992) was an Indian actor in Hindi language films, scriptwriter and producer. He was born in Meerut, and brought up in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Bharat Bhushan began his career in 1941 with a small role in Kidar Sharma’s superhit film Chitralekha. Despite this, his career didn’t took off as his films apart from another Kidar Sharma’s directional Suhaag Raat (1948) did not perform well commercially. In 1952, he appeared and played the lead in Vijay Bhatt’s musical romantic drama film Baiju Bawra. The film emerged a huge blockbuster at the box office and made Bhushan a bankable star. Its music by Naushad and songs by Mohammed Rafi, such as “Tu Ganga Ki Mauj Mein Jamana Ka Dhara”, “O Duniya Ke Rakhwale Sunn Dard Bhare Mere Naaley” and “Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj” were also very successful and won Naushad the inaugural Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. The same year with two more successes, Maa and Anand Math, Bhushan further solidified his stardom. In 1953, he delivered another blockbuster and second highest earner of the year with Ladki, co-starring Vyjayanthimala, Kishore Kumar and Anjali Devi.

हीराबाई बरोदेकर (अंग्रेज़ी: Hirabai Barodekar, जन्म- 29 मई, 1905; मृत्यु- 20 नवंबर, 1989) किराना घराने की हिन्दुस्तानी शस्त्रीय गायिका थीं। उन्हें कला के क्षेत्र में भारत सरकार द्वारा सन 1970 में ‘पद्म भूषण’ से सम्मानित किया गया था। हीराबाई बरोदेकर एक प्रतिभाशाली गायिका ही नहीं, बल्कि भारत की पहली महिला कलाकार थीं जिन्हें पुरुषों के वर्चस्व के दौर में लोग कॉन्सर्ट में सुनने आए। साल 1947 में हीराबाई ने अपने जीवन की सबसे ख़ास प्रस्तुति दी थी। 15 अगस्त के दिन जब देश आज़ाद हुआ, उन्हें लाल क़िले पर ख़ासतौर पर आमंत्रित किया गया था, जहाँ उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय गीत ‘वंदे मातरम’ गाया था।

Pritam Chakraborty (born 14 June 1971), also popularly known mononymously as Pritam, is a National Award winning Indian composer, instrumentalist, music producer and singer. Graduating from FTII in Sound Engineering, he worked as an ad jingle composer, sound designer & theme music composer for TV Serials, later debuted as a co-composer alongside Jeet Gannguli in the 2001 Hindi film Tere Liye.
He debuted as a solo composer with the 2003 film Stumped. However, it was the soundtrack of Dhoom (2004), most notably the title track, which earned him his first big break in the industry and helped him win the Zee Cine Award for Best Track of the Year & vast acknowledgements.

Jubin Nautiyal (born 14 June 1989) is an Indian playback singer and live performer. In June 2022, he won the IIFA award for “Playback Singer (Male)” for the song “Raataan Lambiyan” from Shershaah and “Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year” at 8th Mirchi Music Awards for his song “Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata (Reprise)” from Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He also won the Rising Musical Star Award at Zee Business Awards. He has since recorded songs for films in various Indian languages.
