विमान दुर्घटना जांच ब्यूरो ने अहमदाबाद में एयर इंडिया विमान दुर्घटना की औपचारिक जांच शुरू कर दी है। नागर विमानन मंत्री राम मोहन नायडू ने बताया कि जांच अंतरराष्ट्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन संगठन की निर्धारित प्रक्रिया के अनुरूप की जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि सरकार इस मामले की विस्तृत जांच के लिए विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के विशेषज्ञों की समिति गठित कर रही है।
एयर इंडिया ने अहमदाबाद से लंदन जा रहे विमान की दुर्घटना में 241 लोगों की मृत्यु होने की पुष्टि की है। विमान कल दिन में अहमदाबाद हवाई अड्डे से उड़ान भरने के तुरंत बाद दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया था। विमान में यात्री और चालक दल सहित कुल 242 लोग सवार थे। यात्रियों में भारत के 169, ब्रिटेन के 53, पुर्तगाल के सात और कनाडा से एक नागरिक था। गुजरात के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और भारतीय जनता पार्टी नेता विजय रूपाणी भी मृतकों में शामिल हैं। रमेश विश्वास कुमार नाम के एक यात्री इस हादसे में सुरक्षित बच गये।
विमान विनिर्माता कंपनी बोईंग ने कहा है कि वह एयर इंडिया के संपर्क में हैं और उसे किसी भी प्रकार की सहायता देने को तैयार है। दुर्घटनाग्रस्त बोईंग 787-8 ड्रीमलाईनर विमान वर्ष 2014 में एयर इंडिया को सौंपा गया था।
टाटा समूह के अध्यक्ष एन. चंद्रशेखरन ने प्रत्येक मृतक के परिजनों को एक-एक करोड़ रुपये दिये जाने की घोषणा की है। उन्होंने कहा कि टाटा समूह, घायलों का समुचित उपचार सुनिश्चित करेगा और उपचार का खर्च वहन करेगा।
गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने कल अहमदाबाद में दुर्घटना स्थल का दौरा किया। उन्होंने नागर विमानन मंत्री राम मोहन नायडू, गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र पटेल और वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ राहत और बचाव कार्यों की समीक्षा के लिए बैठक की। बैठक के बाद श्री शाह ने कहा कि इस हादसे से पूरा देश स्तब्ध है और मृतकों के परिजनों के साथ है। उन्होंने पुष्टि की कि नागर विमानन मंत्रालय ने दुर्घटना के कारणों का पता लगाने के लिए औपचारिक जांच शुरू कर दी है।

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches at multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana related to the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror organization, in connection with the Amritsar Police Post grenade attack case. In a statement, the NIA informed that a total of 15 locations were searched across Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, and Rupnagar districts in Punjab, as well as in Sirsa, Haryana yesterday.During the searches, several incriminating materials, including mobile phones, digital devices, and documents, were seized. These are being examined for further clues related to the BKI terror syndicate. The grenade attack on Police Chowki Gumtala under Police Station Cantonment was part of a series of similar attacks carried out by BKI operatives targeting law enforcement establishments in the two northern states. The attack was claimed by Happy Passian, a foreign-based operative of the proscribed BKI. The NIA further informed that investigations revealed that the grenade, along with the funding for the terror attack, were provided by Sarwan Singh to the perpetrators, Bagga Singh and Mandeep Singh. Bagga was arrested by Punjab Police in February this year, which initially investigated the case. Mandeep Singh, however, remains absconding.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has urged Indian nationals to take suitable safety precautions amid protests in Los Angeles, United States. While responding to a question about the situation in Los Angeles, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that New Delhi takes the safety, security, and welfare of Indian citizens abroad with utmost seriousness. He noted that the Los Angeles region is home to a significant number of Indians. Mr. Jaiswal further said that the Indian Consulate in San Francisco is closely monitoring the situation and remains in close touch with community members.

Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on Iran last night. Explosions were heard across Iranian capital Tehran. Israeli defense minister Israel Katz said, his country targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites. Local media is also reporting fire and smoke coming out of the site.
Israel has declared a special state of emergency across the country. Israeli defense minister said, schools will be closed in Israel today.
The attack comes as tensions have reached new heights over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme. Board of Governors at International Atomic Energy Agency for the first time in 20 years censured Iran over it not working with its inspectors. Iran has announced that it will establish a third enrichment site in the country and swap out some centrifuges for more-advanced ones. Israel for years has warned it will not allow Iran to build a nuclear weapon. US has already pulled some diplomats from Iraq’s capital and offered voluntary evacuations for the families of US troops in the wider Middle East.

Through specially designed Lesson Plans, BIS demonstrates how scientific principles operate in everyday products, thereby reinforcing classroom learning in a practical and relatable manner. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched a dedicated complaint centre and introduced a WhatsApp helpline for the citizens to report waste related complaints. The citizens can take photos of the blackspots in the city and Whatsapp on ’94 48 19 71 97′ with the location details. The Corporation has assured, the concerned officials will take necessary action within stipulated time and update the complainant on the resolution. The complaint on uncleared garbage dump can also be registered on municipal corporation helpline ’15 33′. In addition the public can access ‘www.bbmp.gov.in‘ website and request for waste management services or register a complaint through the Namma Bengaluru Sahaya App 2.0. The city Municipal body has requested the public to help keep the city clean and green. The Chief Operating Officer looking after solid waste management in the Corporation has said, public attitude should change in a way that they do not dump garbage on streets and vacant plots. He sought their partnership in keeping the city clean by adding that dumping garbage at night or during early hours on roadsides, footpaths, empty spaces, stormwater drains and other public areas adversely impacts the residents.

In Telangana, six farmers, including four women, lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in three separate incidents of lightning strike in Adilabad district. The lightning struck at three different locations in the district as the region witnessed sudden rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. The first lightning strike took place at Bela village in which two women working in the fields were killed. Shortly after, another incident occurred in Pipri village, where four people, including two women, died. Two others in the group suffered burn injuries. Later, another lightning strike hit Kummari Tanda, leaving three individuals injured. All five injured persons from the incidents were rushed to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Adilabad. Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were engaged in agricultural work when the lightning strikes occurred.

Albinism is a rare, non-contagious, genetically inherited difference present at birth. In almost all types of albinism, both parents must carry the gene for it to be passed on, even if they do not have albinism themselves. The condition is found in both sexes regardless of ethnicity and in all countries of the world. Albinism results in a lack of pigmentation (melanin) in the hair, skin and eyes, causing vulnerability to the sun and bright light. As a result, almost all people with albinism are visually impaired and are prone to developing skin cancer. The purpose of this day is to dispel myths related to albinism and mobilize global support for the safety, health, education, equal rights of the victims.

अब बात उन महान व्यक्तियों की, जिनकी आज पुण्यतिथि, जयंती या जन्मदिन है।
भारत के जाबाज सैनिक मेजर विवेक गुप्ता की आज पुण्यतिथि है। करगिल युद्ध के दौरान 13 जून, 1999 को तोलोलिंग टॉप में दुश्मन के ठिकानों पर शुरुआती हमले में मेजर विवेक गुप्ता को अपनी कंपनी का नेतृत्व करने का मौका दिया गया। इस दौरान उन्होंने अदम्य साहस व पराक्रम का परिचय दिया। युद्ध के दौरान उन्हें दो गोलियां लगीं, लेकिन उन्होंने फिर भी दुश्मनों पर हमला जारी रखा। आमने-सामने की लड़ाई में उन्होंने दुश्मन के तीन सैनिक मारे गिराये, लेकिन वह इस बीच दुश्मनों के हमले में वीर गति को प्राप्त हो गए। विवेक गुप्ता की वीरता के चलते ही भारत ने तोलोलोंग टॉप पर विजय प्राप्त की थी। मेजर विवेक गुप्ता को उनकी वीरता के लिए मरणोपरांत ‘महावीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया।

भारतीय सेना के वीर सैनिकों में से एक मेजर मनोज तलवार की आज पुण्यतिथि है। ऐसे वीर सपूत कम ही पैदा होते हैं, जो देश की खातिर अपना सर्वस्व न्योछावर कर देते हैं। ऐसे ही वीर सपूत थे मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर के मेजर मनोज तलवार। जून, 1999 को जब देश के दुश्मनों ने अपने नापाक इरादों से हमला किया, तो मनोज तलवार अपने साथियों के साथ शत्रुओं को करारा जवाब दे रहे थे। 13 जून को करगिल में दुश्मनों को ढेर कर टुरटक की पहाड़ियों पर तिरंगा लहराने के बाद वे शहीद हो गए। मेजर मनोज तलवार को मरणोपरांत ‘वीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया।

आज हिंदी सिनेमा जगत् के मशहूर गीतकार प्रेम धवन की जयंती है। उन्होंने हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के लिये कई मशहूर गीत लिखे। प्रेम धवन ने पं.रवि शंकर से संगीत और पंडित उदय शंकर से नृत्य की शिक्षा ली। उन्होनें लगभग 50 फ़िल्मों में नृत्य निर्देशन किया। फ़िल्म ‘नया दौर’ का ‘उड़े जब-जब जुल्फें तेरी’- प्रेम धवन के ही निर्देशन का कमाल था। फ़िल्म ‘दो बीघा ज़मीन’ के गीत ‘हरियाला सावन ढोल बजाता आया’ में तो प्रेम थिरके भी हैं। फ़िल्म ‘ज़िद्दी’ से उन्हें उनका पहला ब्रेक मिला। गायिका लता मंगेशकर का ‘चंदा जा रे जा रे…’ पहला हिट इसी फ़िल्म में था। आख़िरी बार प्रेम ने फ़िल्म ‘अप्पूराजा’ के लिए लिखा। भारत सरकार ने प्रेम धवन को 1970 में पद्मश्री पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया।
