External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will host the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for the 4th meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi today. The Ministers will discuss further strengthening of relations between India and Central Asian countries with particular focus on trade, connectivity, technology, and development cooperation. They will also share perspectives on challenges to regional security and other regional and global issues of mutual interest. The third meeting of the Dialogue was hosted by India in New Delhi in December 2021.
India and Central Asia enjoy close and cordial contemporary diplomatic relations underpinned by millennia old cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The first India-Central Summit was held virtually in January 2022.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has suspended Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda and several other senior police officials in connection with the stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the state capital that killed 11 people. He also ordered the arrest of representatives of the RCB team, event management firm DNA Entertainment, and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). An FIR has been registered against them under various charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister also announced a one-man judicial probe, headed by Justice Michael D’Cunha, a retired High Court judge of Karnataka, into the tragic incident. The commission will submit its report within 30 days.

Reserve Bank of India will announce its bi-monthly monetary policy review today. Chaired by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra, Reserve Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) began its 3-day meeting on Wednesday to decide on the repo rate cut. According to economists and industry experts, the Central Bank is likely to go for a third 25 basis point cut in the repo rate to 5.75 percent. A new SBI report has even projected a mega 50-basis point rate cut in today’s policy review. The Reserve Bank has already reduced the repo rate by 50 basis points in the previous two monetary policy reviews, lowering it to 6 per cent.

While in the Himalayas, the redevelopment of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham has strengthened infrastructure and safety for pilgrims visiting these sacred shrines. The Swadesh Darshan scheme has further boosted travel infrastructure, with more that 5,000 crore rupees sanctioned for 76 projects across identified thematic circuits. Complementing these efforts, the HRIDAY (Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana) scheme has focused on developing 12 heritage cities. Together, these initiatives are preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage while driving a surge in tourism across the country. The National Green Tribunal has slammed the Tamilnadu Government for inaction in auctioning the attached properties of a firecracker unit , where an explosion killed 21 people in 2021. It ordered the government to treat the issue as urgent and pass necessary orders by June 24, the next date of hearing. Chief Secretary N.Muruganandham shall urgently obtain government orders for allocating Rs. 5.7 Crore as pending compensation to the victims of the accident at a fireworks unit in Virudhunagar. The amount shall be recovered from the Unit’s owner or lessee it said.

The project focuses on upgrading traffic infrastructure while integrating renewable energy solutions. This will reduce congestion, streamline vehicle movement, and enhance pedestrian safety . Proposed interventions include solar powered traffic signals, solar street lights, centre line realignment, lane balancing , fresh road markings, and junction geometry correction.

The Bengaluru University celebrated World Environment Day yesterday. The event was organised by the Department of Education with a theme of Beat Plastic Pollution. As part of the Environment Day, a pre event cleanliness drive was organised where the students and faculty teamed up to clear plastic waste and weed out plants from the campus garden. An awareness march was organised to create awareness about the hazards of plastic usage. A distinguished ecologist and recipient of the Young Scientist Award Dr Nagaraja was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He planted a sapling in the Department of Education garden. In his address, Dr Nagaraja outlined the causes and consequences of plastic pollution. He stressed the need for immediate action to address the menace of plastic, harming ecosystems and human health. He called upon the students to play an active role in the environmental preservation.

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कल अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान-एम्स में प्रतीक्षालय का उद्घाटन किया। इस दौरान श्रीमती रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि एम्स अस्पताल की सुविधाओं में पिछले 10 वर्ष में बहुत सुधार हुआ है। श्रीमती गुप्ता ने कहा कि यहां पूरे भारत से हजारों मरीज रोजाना आते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि यह प्रतीक्षालय मरीजों के साथ आने वालों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण सुविधा है।

विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस पर राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र परिवहन निगम-एनसीआरटीसी ने मेरठ साउथ नमो भारत स्टेशन पर इलेक्ट्रिक बाइक टैक्सी सेवा की शुरुआत की। इसका संचालन विशेष रूप से प्रशिक्षित महिला ड्राइवरों द्वारा केवल महिला यात्रियों के लिए किया जाएगा। एन.सी.आर.टी.सी. के अनुसार इसके तहत पीक ऑवर्स के दौरान लगभग 10 इलेक्ट्रिक बाइकें तैनात की जाएँगी, जो मेरठ साउथ स्टेशन के 5 किलोमीटर के दायरे में महिला यात्रियों को कम किराए पर कनेक्टिविटी की सेवा प्रदान करेंगी।

महाराष्ट्र में मुख्यमंत्री देवेन्द्र फडणवीस ने विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के अवसर पर मुंबई में विशेष वृक्षारोपण अभियान ‘एक पेड़ माँ के नाम’ को बढावा देने के लिए अपने आधिकारिक आवास पर वृक्षारोपण किया। प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण को समाप्त करने के लिए गिरगांव चौपाटी पर पर्यावरण और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री पंकजा मुंडे की मौजूदगी में एकल उपयोग प्लास्टिक उन्मूलन अभियान चलाया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में सांस्कृतिक मामले और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री तथा मुंबई उपनगरीय जिले के संरक्षक मंत्री एडवोकेट आशीष शेलार भी शामिल हुए।

देश और दुनिया के इतिहास में 6 जून के दिन कई महत्वपूर्ण घटनाएं हुईं, जो इतिहास के पन्नों में हमेशा के लिए दर्ज हो गई हैं।
आज सबसे पहले बात उस काले इतिहास की जिसे याद कर आज भी रूह कांप जाए. 6 जून 1981 को बिहार के मानसी स्टेशन से एक ट्रेन सहरसा जा रही थी। ट्रेन में 1 हजार से ज्यादा लोग सवार थे। रास्ते में बारिश होने लगी तो यात्रियों ने खिड़की-दरवाजे बंद कर लिए और ट्रेन के अंदर ही सफर खत्म होने का इंतजार करने लगे। ट्रेन बागमती नदी के पुल से गुजर रही थी तभी अचानक से एक झटका लगा। इससे पहले कि कोई कुछ समझ पाता ट्रेन के 7 डिब्बे पुल से नदी में जा गिरे.बरसात की वजह से लबालब भरी बागमती ने सातों डिब्बों को अपने अंदर समा लिया. मरने वालों की सही संख्या आज तक पता नहीं है.

सुनील दत्त
1930 – आज हिन्दी सिने जगत के मशहूर अभिनेता सुनील दत्त की जयंती है। सुनील दत्त का वास्तविक नाम बलराज रघुनाथ दत्त था। सिनेमा की ऊचाइंयों तक पहुंचने का सफर सुनील दत्त के लिए बिल्कुल भी आसान नहीं था। शुरुआत श्रीलंका में रेडियो सिलॉन में एक अनाउन्सर के रूप में हुई। आवाज अच्छी थी, देखने में हैंडसम थे, …तो किसी ने कहा मुम्बई जाकर किस्मत क्यों नहीं आजमाते। मुम्बई पहुंचे, संघर्ष किया, टिकट चैकर की नौकरी की। पहली तन्ख्वाह 120 रुपये थी। और पहली फिल्म थी रेलवे प्लेटफॉर्म। फिल्म ज्यादा नहीं चल, मगर संघर्ष जारी रहा और फिर वो दिन भी आया जब मदर इंडिया में बिरजू का रोल करने के बाद सुनील दत्त ने कभी पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा। प्रसार भारती के संग्रहालय से एक साक्षात्कार हम आपके लिए लेकर आते हैं, जिेसमें सुनील दत्त साहब ने कितनी खूबसूरत बात कही है।

keyboardist, singer, and songwriter whose work encompassed R&B, rock, soul, funk, and gospel. Preston was a top session keyboardist in the 1960s, backing Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, the Everly Brothers, Reverend James Cleveland, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. He gained attention as a solo artist with hit singles “That’s the Way God Planned It”, the Grammy-winning “Outa-Space”, “Will It Go Round in Circles”, “Space Race”, “Nothing from Nothing”, and “With You I’m Born Again”. Additionally, Preston co-wrote “You Are So Beautiful”, which became a hit for Joe Cocker.
Preston is one of very few musicians to be given a credit on a Beatles recording, which was done at the band’s request; the group’s 1969 single “Get Back” was credited as “The Beatles with Billy Preston”. He is one of several people referred to as a fifth Beatle. Preston continued to record and perform with George Harrison after the Beatles’ breakup, along with other artists such as Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones on many of the group’s albums and tours during the 1970s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

ये शेर है शायर शौक़ बहराइची का। आज इनकी जयंती है। शौक़ बहराइची का जन्म 6 जून, 1884 को अयोध्या के सैयदवाड़ा मोहल्ले में एक साधारण मुस्लिम शिया परिवार में हुआ था। इनके जन्म का नाम ‘रियासत हुसैन रिज़वी’ था जो बाद में बहराइच में रहने के कारण बहराइची हुआ। उन्होंने उनके शेरों को संकलित कर ‘तूफ़ान’ किताब की शक्ल दी गयी है

आज प्रसिद्ध गीतकार राजेंद्र कृष्ण की भी जयंती है। राजेंद्र कृष्ण का जन्म 6 जून, 1919 को पाकिस्तान के ज़िला गुजरात के जलालपुर जट्टन नामक गांव में एक दुग्गल परिवार में हुआ था। कई ऐसे खूबसूरत गीत है जिनकी रचना राजेंद्र कृष्ण ने की।
उन्होंने फिल्म “खानदान” के गीत “तुम्ही मेरे मंदिर, तुम्ही मेरी पूजा” के लिए फिल्मफेयर सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीतकार पुरस्कार जीता.
उनकी कुछ प्रसिद्ध रचनाएँ:
“न झटको जुल्फ से पानी ये मोती टूट जाएंगे” (फिल्म: एक अदृश्य प्रेम)

आज आम आदमी से जुडी सीढ़ी सच्ची कहनियों पर फिल्म बनाने वाले हिंदी और बंगाली सिनेमा के जाने-माने पटकथा लेखक और निर्देशक बासु चटर्जी की पुण्यतिथि है। (अंग्रेज़ी: Basu Chatterjee, जन्म- 10 जनवरी, 1927; मृत्यु- 6 जून, 2020) थे। बासु चटर्जी की फिल्में हल्के मूड वाली मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार की कहानियां होती थीं। 70 व 80 के दशक में हिंदी सिनेमा को बासु चटर्जी ने कई ऐसी फिल्में दी जिन्होंने इंडस्ट्री के कई आयामों को बदल दिया। बासु दा ने 1969 में आई अपनी फिल्म ‘सारा आकाश’ के जरिए फिल्मी दुनिया में कदम रखा था।
