India has appreciated the UK government’s expression of solidarity and support to its fight against terrorism. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri conveyed New Delhi’s appreciation during his meeting with the Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Oliver Robbins yesterday. The discussions were held during the 17th India-UK Foreign Office Consultations and 1st Strategic Exports and Technology Cooperation Dialogue held in New Delhi.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, India and the UK are Comprehensive Strategic Partners. It said, the India-UK Foreign Office Consultations provided an opportunity to review and discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations. Both sides welcomed the conclusion of the India-UK FTA and Double Contribution Convention. Foreign Secretary and UK Permanent Under-Secretary discussed ways of strengthening cooperation in trade, investment and financial sector, defence and security, counter-terrorism, technology among others.

In Sikkim ,the evacuation process at Lachen and Chaten is yet to start due to inclement weather . The IAF helicopter couldn’t operate due to bad weather . But official sources said that IAF chopper and NDRF teams are trying all possible options to evacuate the stranded passengers at Mangan district. Yesterday 34 persons were rescued safely by the IAF and NDRF teams. The District Collector of Mangan Anant Jain said that there are around 130 tourists still stranded at Lachen. He said that they all are safe and staying in their hotels. He said that mobile communication has been disrupted at Lachen but communication is on through NDRF’s sattelite phones.
The tourism department has issued advisory for tourists that roads lead to Lachen and Lachung are temporarily closed due to landslides but there is no problem in visiting other places in Sikkim.

The annual Mela Kheer Bhawani was celebrated with great traditional fervor and gaiety yesterday at the sacred shrine of Mata Ragnya Devi at Tulmulla in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The Ganderbal is gateway to famous tourist spot Sonamarg along the Srinagar Kargil highway. As we celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, the Nation salutes the valour of the Indian soldiers. As a tribute to the Armed Forces, Akashvani News is presenting a special series. Today we remember Param Vir Chakra awardee Naik Jadunath Singh, who made supreme sacrifice during the India-Pakistan war of 1947-48.
Born in 1916 in Uttar Pradesh, Naik Jadunath Singh was commissioned into 1 Rajput Regiment 1941. During the Indo-Pak war of 1947-48, following the capture of Jhangar on December 1947, Pakistani raiders gained a strategic advantage in the Naushahra Sector. Anticipating further attacks, Indian forces fortified key positions, including Tain Dhar ridge, where Naik Jadunath Singh commanded aforward post of nine men.On the foggy morning of February 6, in 1948, the enemy launched a massive assault on Tain Dhar. In the first wave, hundreds of raiders advanced toward Picket No. 2. Despite being outnumbered, Naik Jadunath Singh led a fierce resistance, forcing the enemy to retreat in confusion. When four of his men were wounded, he quickly reorganized the remaining soldiers. Though injured himself, he took over the Bren gun from the wounded gunner and delivered devastating fire, halting a second enemy wave and turning near-defeat into a desperate but determined defense. With all his comrades either killed or wounded, a third and final wave of attackers charged the post. Bleeding and alone, Naik Jadunath Singh emerged from his sangar with a sten gun and charged at the enemy. His fearless assault unnerved the attackers, who fled in panic. In this final act of valour, he was struck down by two bullets to the head and chest. Naik Jadunath Singh’s gallantry and unyielding leadership saved his post from being overrun. For his supreme sacrifice and extraordinary courage, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. Saklen Akhtar, Akashvani News, Delhi.

He was briefed on steps taken by the station towards improving the quality of life and living standards of the station personnel. The State owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited has achieved a monthly record turnover of 186 crore rupees in May, the highest in its history of 108 years. It surpassed its target for May by 125 percent and recorded a 15 percent growth. The State minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil announced this in Bengaluru yesterday. He has informed that 1.81 crore rupees turnover for the Month of May came from exports.

सूचना और प्रसारण सचिव संजय जाजू ने कल मुंबई में भारतीय सिनेमा के राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय परिसर में भारतीय रचनात्मक प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान यानि आईआईसीटी का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने फैज-1 कैम्पस की तैयारियों की समीक्षा के लिए दूसरी बोर्ड बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। उन्होंने आगामी आईआईसीटी गोरेगांव केंद्र के लिए भी बोर्ड समीक्षा बैठक की, जो मुंबई में फिल्म सिटी में निर्माणाधीन है।
श्री जाजू ने कहा कि फैज-1 कैम्पस के जुलाई 2025 तक शुरू होने की संभावना है। और यहां शैक्षणिक गतिविधियाँ अगस्त 2025 तक शुरू होने की संभावना है। आपको बता दे कि आईआईसीटी के लॉच की घोषणा वेव्स 2025 में की गई थी। इस संस्थान में एनीमेशन, गेमिंग और डिजिटल ऑर्ट को बढावा दिया जाएगा। यह सस्थान आईआईटी और आईआईएम्स की तरह एक विश्वस्तरी संस्थान होगा।

The Telangana state government has announced plans to develop a state-of-the-art Eco-Town in Hyderabad, inspired by the Japanese city of Kitakyushu. The project will span 80 acres and focus on sustainability, zero-emission goals, and inclusive economic growth, ensuring the needs of future generations are met.
State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu has announced this during a special event – from Kitakyushu to Telangana: Promoting Sustainable Industrial Development- held in Hyderabad. He stated that the initiative is a result of a bilateral cooperation agreement between Telangana and Kitakyushu, which will serve as a strategic roadmap for the proposed Eco-Town. It is expected to bring in advanced Japanese technologies and urban innovation strategies to Telangana.

मुम्बई में भी आज बादल छाए रहेंने और हल्की बारिश का अनुमान है। आज का न्यूनतम तापमान 26 डिग्री दर्ज किया गया जबकि अधिकतम तापमान 33 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहने की संभावना है ।
कोलकाता की बात करे तो वहां आज मौसम हॉट और हयूमिड है। यहां आंशिक रूप से बादल छाए रहेंगें। न्यूनतम तापमान 28 डिग्री दर्ज किया गया वहीं आज का अधिकतम तापमान 38 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहने की संभावना है।

आज ही पुण्य तिथि है अचंत लक्ष्मीपति की जिन्हे आयुर्वेदिक औषधियों के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए जाना जाता है । वे अलग आंध्र प्रदेश राज्य की स्थापना के समर्थक थे। प्रसिद्ध संत रमण महर्षि के विचारों का उन पर बहुत प्रभाव था। अचंत लक्ष्मीपति का जन्म 3 मार्च 1880 को आंध्र प्रदेश के गोदावरी ज़िले में हुआ था। उन्होंने 1909 में तत्कालीन मद्रास मेडिकल कॉलेज से चिकित्सा की डिग्री प्राप्त की और अपने किसान पिता अचंत रमय्या की प्रेरणा से संस्कृत भाषा सीखी। वेदों, पुराणों और आयुर्वेद के ग्रंथों का गहन अध्ययन किया और अपने समय के प्रसिद्ध वैद्य रत्न पंडित गोपालाचार्य लू के शिष्य बन गए। अचंत लक्ष्मीपति ने अपनी शक्ति आयुर्वेद के प्रचार में लगाई। अचंत लक्ष्मीपति ने स्वदेशी आंदोलन में भी योगदान किया। वे गांधीजी के विचारों के समर्थक थे। अचंत लक्ष्मीपति का ने 4 जून, 1962 को इस दुनिया को अलविदा कहा ।
Nutan Samarth-Bahl (Samarth; 4 June 1936 – 21 February 1991), known mononymously as Nutan was an Indian actress who worked in Hindi films. In a career spanning four decades, she appeared in more than 80 films, that ranged in genre from urban romances to socio-realist dramas. Regarded as one of the greatest actresses in the history of Indian cinema, Nutan was noted for her naturalistic acting in parts of conflicted women often deemed unconventional. She was the recipient of six Filmfare Awards, including a record five Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 1974, Nutan received the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award.

सुजाता, बंदिनी, मैं तुलसी तेरे आंगन की, सीमा, सरस्वती चंद्र, और मिलन जैसी ब्लॉकबस्टर फ़िल्मों में अपने शानदार अभिनय से नूतन ने सभी के दिलो में अपनी पहचान बनाई। सुनते हैं सुर सरस्वती चंद्र यह यह गीत छोड दे सारी दुनिया किसी के लिए।
नूतन का जन्म 4 जून, 1936 को हुआ था।घर में फ़िल्मी माहौल का प्रभाव नूतन पर भी पड़ा और नूतन ने बतौर बाल कलाकार फ़िल्म ‘नल दमयंती’ से अपने सिने करियर की शुरूआत की। इस बीच नूतन ने अखिल भारतीय सौंदर्य प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लिया जिसमें वह प्रथम चुनी गई लेकिन बॉलीवुड के किसी निर्माता का ध्यान उनकी ओर नहीं गया। बाद में नूतन को 1950 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘हमारी बेटी’ में अभिनय करने का मौका मिला। इस फ़िल्म का निर्देशन उनकी माँ शोभना समर्थ ने किया। इसके बाद नूतन ने ‘हमलोग’, ‘शीशम’, ‘नगीना’ और ‘शवाब’ जैसी कुछ फ़िल्मों में अभिनय किया लेकिन इन फ़िल्मों से वह कुछ ख़ास पहचान नहीं बना सकी। 1955 का साल उनके फ़िल्मी जीवन में अहम् साबित हुआ जब नूतन ने फ़िल्म ‘सीमा’ में विद्रोहिणी नायिका के सशक्त किरदार को रूपहले पर्दे पर साकार किया। इस फ़िल्म में नूतन ने सुधार गृह में बंद कैदी की भूमिका निभायी जो चोरी के झूठे इल्जाम में जेल में अपने दिन काट रही थी। इस फ़िल्म में अपने दमदार अभिनय के लिये नूतन को अपने सिने करियर का सर्वश्रेष्ठ फ़िल्म अभिनेत्री का पुरस्कार भी मिला। नूतन ने हर तरह का किरदार निभाया। उन्होंने देवानंद के साथ ‘पेइंग गेस्ट’ और ‘तेरे घर के सामने’ में नूतन ने हल्के-फुल्के रोल कर अपनी बहुआयामी प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया।

She continued playing leading roles through the 1960s until the late 1970s and went onto win the award on four other occasions for her roles in Sujata (1959), Bandini (1963), Milan (1967) and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978).
William Halse Rivers Rivers FRS FRAI (12 March 1864 – 4 June 1922) was an English anthropologist, neurologist, ethnologist and psychiatrist known for treatment of First World War officers suffering shell shock, so they could be returned to combat. Rivers’ most famous patient was the war poet Siegfried Sassoon, with whom he remained close friends until his own sudden death.During the early years of the 20th century, Rivers developed new lines of psychological research. He was the first to use a double-blind procedure in investigating physical and psychological effects of consumption of tea, coffee, alcohol and drugs. For a time he directed centres for psychological studies at two colleges, and he was made a Fellow of St John’s College, Cambridge. He also participated in the Torres Strait Islands expedition of 1898 and his consequent seminal work on the subject of kinship.
Murry Gage Wilson (July 2, 1917 – June 4, 1973) was an American songwriter, talent manager, record producer, and music publisher, best known as the father of the Beach Boys’ Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson. After the band’s formation in 1961, Murry became their first manager, and in 1962, he founded their publishing company, Sea of Tunes, with Brian.
Later in his life, Wilson was accused of physically and verbally abusing his children, charges which he denied. Wilson authored or co-authored at least 50 compositions in his lifetime, albeit with little commercial success. His most popular songs were “Two-Step, Side-Step”, recorded by Johnnie Lee Wills and Bonnie Lou in the 1950s, and “Break Away”, released as a Beach Boys single in 1969. Wilson was also credited as producer for some of the band’s early records, including the 1962 singles “409” and “Surfin’ Safari”.The Beach Boys dismissed Wilson as their manager in early 1964 due to his overbearing and disruptive presence at the group’s concerts and recording sessions. Following this, he produced the sound-alike group the Sunrays, and recorded an easy listening album, The Many Moods of Murry Wilson (1967). Wilson controlled the Beach Boys’ publishing until 1969, when he sold Sea of Tunes to Irving Almo Music in exchange for $700,000 (equivalent to $6 million in 2024). In 1973, he died, aged 55, of a heart attack. His management of the group’s publishing became the subject of numerous lawsuits decades later.
Herbert Reed (August 7, 1928 – June 4, 2012) was an American musician, vocalist, and founding/naming member of The Platters, known for songs such as “Only You (and You Alone)” and “The Great Pretender”. Reed was the last surviving original member of the group, which he co-founded with Joe Jefferson, Alex Hodge, and Cornell Gunter (who later founded The Coasters).

P ने अपने 5 दशक लम्बे फ़िल्मी करियर में एक से बढ़कर एक गीत गाये। पार्श्वगायक होने के साथ-साथ वह एक अभिनेता, संगीत निर्देशक,और फ़िल्म निर्माता भी थे। एस. पी. बालासुब्रमण्यम ने छह बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ पार्श्वगायक के लिए ‘राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार’ और आन्ध्र प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा 25 बार तेलुगू सिनेमा में ‘नन्दी पुरस्कार’ जीता। फ़िल्म ‘मैंने प्यार किया’ , ‘साजन ,और ‘हम आपके हैं कौन’- जैसी फिल्मों गीतों ने सभी के दिलों को छू लिया।
