Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India and US desire to give preferential market access to each other’s businesses. Talking to Media persons in Paris, he said that both the countries are working together on the proposed bilateral trade agreement. When asked about an announcement of US President Donald Trump to double tariffs on steel and aluminium to 50 per cent, Mr Goyal said, two countries will continue to work together to resolve all these issues bilaterally. Mr Goyal is in Pais on an official visit to hold talks with French leaders and business representatives to boost trade and investments.
In February, US President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to negotiate the first tranche or phase of a mutually beneficial, multi-sector Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) by fall (September-October) of 2025. It is aimed at more than doubling the bilateral trade to 500 billion dollars by 2030 from the current level of 191 billion dollars.

In Tamil Nadu, a total of 2 lakh 81 thousand and 266 students have registered for engineering professional courses in the past 27 days of counselling. According to State Higher Education Minister Kovi Chezhian, the counselling for engineering courses began on 7th of last month for the 11 Government Engineering Colleges and affiliated ones. The Government has added 12 new courses this academic year. Students who completed their higher secondary in Government schools to get 7.5 per cent reservation in professional courses. Students can enroll themselves for counselling till 6th of this month. Admissions are provided in 110 Government counselling centres all over the State .

The Tamil Nadu Police Department has said that as part of the SimpleGov initiative, the procedure for the verification of character and antecedents will follow the protocol. The updated verification process is now facilitated through the police department portal, which is in the Tamil Nadu State Crime Records Bureau portal. The integrated platform provides an efficient, responsive and citizen friendly mechanism for obtaining character verification. Accordingly the existing practice of submitting applications to the office of the district collector for this purpose is hereby discontinued with immediate effect and individuals requiring character verifications and antecedents need to apply in tamilnadu police website.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah yesterday announced a cash prize of 10 lakh rupees each to International Booker Prize winning authors Banu Mushtaq and translator Deepa Bhasthi in Bengaluru. The announcement was made by him during the felicitation ceremony organised by the Kannada and Culture department. Siddaramaiah added that the Government will extend all the assistance to translate Mushtaq’s Kannada books into English. Banu Mushtaq is the first Kannada author to win the Booker prize for her English translated short stories. Deepa Bhasthi had translated the stories and titled it as Heart Lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Banu Mushtaq voiced the predicaments of women, especially from the Muslim community. Her writings, he noted, draws the attention of humanity and the entire society towards the downtrodden. Moreover, Banu Mushtaq also defined Kannada as a language that binds everyone, that gives expression to all kinds of creative thinking. Kannada literature has won eight Jnanpith Awards and one Booker Prize and deserves to be read across the world.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has said the state government and the Japanese city of Kitakyushu will work together to foster green innovation and urban development, including the Musi Rejuvenation Project. Representatives of the state government and the Kitakyushu city administration signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday in the presence of the Chief Minister and Kitakyushu City Mayor Kazuhisa Takechi. The Kitakyushu team led by Mayor Takechi was in Hyderabad to take part in Telangana State Formation Day celebrations. The Japanese delegation was in Hyderabad on an invitation extended by the Chief Minister during his visit to Japan.
The Chief Minister stated that the MoU will focus on inclusive economic growth, zero emission initiatives and urban innovation. Among the key priorities highlighted were the Musi River development and revitalisation project and skilling Telangana’s youth. Mr Reddy said the state government will facilitate Japanese language training for students in the state, and help them explore educational and career opportunities in Japan. He also stated that efforts are underway to establish direct air connectivity between Hyderabad and Kitakyushu.

दिल्ली पुलिस के साइबर थाने ने कल दिल्ली जल बोर्ड के नाम पर साइबर ठगी करने वाले गिरोह का पर्दाफाश करते हुए तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस के अनुसार, यह आरोपी लोगों को फर्जी मैसेज भेजकर पानी कनेक्शन काटे जाने की धमकी देकर वारदात करते थे। आरोपी एंड्रायड एप्लीकेशन के लिंक फाइल भेजकर फर्जी भुगतान करवाते थे और बैंकिंग डिटेल्स पाकर बैंक खातों से पैसे हस्तांतरित करते थे।

Today is World Bicycle Day. The day draws attention to the benefits of using the bicycle – a simple, affordable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation. In 2022, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution on integration of mainstream bicycling into public transportation systems for sustainable development.
Similar initiatives have been taken in India to promote cycling as a way to stay fit. One of such capaign is “Sundays on Cycle” by the Government. भारत में दुग्ध क्रान्ति, और जिसे ‘श्वेत क्रान्ति’ भी कहा जाता है, उनके जनक वर्गीज़ कुरियन के साथ मिलकर इस महान विभूति ने देश में सहकारी दुग्ध उद्योग के मॉडल की आधारशिला रखी इनका नाम है- त्रिभुवनदास कृषिभाई पटेल आज इनकी पुण्यतिथि है। वर्गीज़ कुरियन तथा त्रिभुवनदास पटेल ने मिलकर दूध के पाउडर, कंडेस्ड मिल्क तथा बच्चों के लिए मिल्क फूड का भारत में पहला प्लांट खड़ा किया था। यह दुनिया में एक अनोखा अकेला प्लांट था, जो भैंस के दूध को पाउडर में बदल सकता था। और इस तरह ‘अमूल’ की स्थापना हुई। सामुदायिक नेतृत्व के लिए त्रिभुवनदास पटेल को 1963 में रेमन मैग्सेसे पुरस्कार मिला वर्ष 1964 में उन्हें पद्मभूषण पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया।
