प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी आज गुजरात के दाहोद में 24 हजार करोड रूपये लागत की विभिन्न विकास परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास और शुभारंभ करेंगे। दो दिन के गुजरात दौरे में श्री मोदी दाहोद लोकोमोटिव विनिर्माण संयत्र का लोकार्पण करेंगे। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया कि इस सयंत्र से अगले 11 वर्षों में एक हजार दो सौ मालगाड़ी विद्युत इंजनों का विनिर्माण होगा। 21 हजार करोड रूपये से अधिक की लागत से विनिर्मित इस कार्यशाला से आधुनिक उपकरणों के जरिए रेलवे की माल ढुलाई क्षमता बढेगी। विद्युत रेल इंजन न केवल सरकार के मेक इन इंडिया लक्ष्य को साकार करेगा बल्कि पूरे विश्व में निर्यात से मेक फॉर वर्ल्ड पहल भी करेगा। रेलवे बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी सतीश कुमार ने मीडिया से बातचीत में कहा कि उद्योग जगत की भागीदारी और स्वदेशी उपकरणों के उपयोग से यह संयंत्र रिकॉर्ड समय में बनकर तैयार हुआ है। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी नौ हजार हॉर्स पावर के विद्युत इंजन का भी शुभारंभ करेगे। यह देश का सर्वाधिक शक्तिशाली सिंगल इंजन है। इससे एक सौ 20 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटे की रफ्तार से पांच हजार टन वजन तक की मालगाड़ियों का परिचालन सुनिश्चित होगा। आकाशवाणी समाचार से बातचीत में पश्चिम रेलवे के मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी विनीत अभिषेक ने देश में अपनी तरह के इस पहले इंजन की विशेषताओं का उल्लेख किया। इसके बाद प्रधानमंत्री आज भुज में 53 हजार चार सौ करोड रूपये लागत की विभिन्न परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास और शुभारंभ करेंगे।

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has said that India now has a new approach in combating cross-border terrorism from Pakistan and anyone involved in such crimes will not go unpunished. He said no one sitting in Pakistan is going to be allowed to believe that they can just walk across the border and kill our citizens with impunity. There will be a price to pay, and that price has been going up systematically, Mr Tharoor said. He made the remarks at a community event in New York, US. The interaction was hosted by the Consulate General of India in New York with a select group of prominent members of the Indian-American community and individuals from leading media and think tanks. Mr Tharoor and other members of the delegation visited the 9/11 Memorial in New York in a spirit of solidarity.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said lauded the efforts put in by the all-party delegations. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said, India stands together in declaring zero tolerance for terrorism.
In Bahrain, all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda briefed Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa about the challenge of cross-border terrorism facing India and New Delhi’s firm resolve to combat it.
In South Korea, all-party delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha shared with the members of the Indian diaspora the insights on the military campaign Operation Sindoor. The delegation reiterated the Modi government’s stand against terrorism and said that dialogue with Pakistan cannot co-exist with terror. The team also held interactions with eminent Korean dignitaries, including former Foreign Minister Dr. Yoon Young-kwan.
The multi-party delegation led by NCP MP Supriya Sule met with Dr. Hamda Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Qatar Shura Council and other Qatari MPs in Doha taking India’s strong message against terrorism to the world.
In his Mann ki Baat programme yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Operation Sindoor is not just a military mission, but the face of a changing India that reflects the country’s resolve, courage, and growing strength on the global stage. Mr Modi praised the valour displayed by armed forces during Operation Sindoor and lauded the precision and accuracy with which they destroyed the terrorist hideouts across the border.

As we celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, the Nation salutes the valour of the Indian soldiers. As a tribute to the Armed Forces, Akashvani News is presenting a special series. Today we remember Param Vir Chakra awardee Company Quarter Master Havildar Abdul Hamid who made the supreme sacrifice during the India -Pakistan War in 1965.
“During the 1965 Indo-Pak war, the 4 Grenadiers occupied a vital position near the village of Chima on the Khem Karan-Bhikhiwind road. Holding this ground was crucial to the overall defence strategy. On the night of September 8, Pakistani forces launched several probing attacks on the Grenadiers’ positions, all of which were repelled. The situation escalated on the morning of September 10 when a regiment of Pakistani Patton tanks launched a major offensive, preceded by intense artillery shelling that heavily damaged the battalion’s area. By 9 am., enemy tanks had breached the forward positions. At this critical moment, Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid, commanding a recoilless gun detachment, took swift action. Mounting his gun on a jeep, he moved to a flank under heavy fire. With remarkable accuracy, he destroyed the lead tank and then shifted position to take out another. Despite being targeted by concentrated machine gun and shell fire, he continued engaging the enemy until he was fatally wounded by a high explosive shell while attempting to destroy another tank. CQMH Abdul Hamid’s fearless actions and steadfast courage inspired his comrades and were instrumental in halting the enemy advance. The first cherry cargo train is set to roll from Jammu and Kashmir to Mumbai next month. In a first-of-its-kind initiative to transport perishable produce outside Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu railway division has gotten its first VP indent (a request for the allocation of a full parcel van for the shipment of goods) from Katra railway station to Bandra in Mumbai for June 3. The move, undertaken after extensive consultations with the Horticulture Department and fruit grower associations, will enable perishable goods like cherries reach its intended markets with minimal damage or deterioration in quality.

Moving on to the world of sports, in Chess, world champion D Gukesh to take on Magnus Carlsen in opening round of the prestigious Norway Chess tournament starting today at Stavanger.
The event features six elite players each in the men’s and women’s sections and follows a double round-robin format.
Gukesh is set to open his campaign with a highly anticipated match against world No.1 Magnus Carlsen, while debutant Erigaisi will take on China’s Wei Yi. This is the first time India has two male players in the tournament, boosting hopes for a historic title.

Simon Lee, Vice General President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in India, credits brands and OEMs for attracting Taiwanese investment. A key challenge remains the lack of vertical integration and tier-1 and smaller suppliers, but this is improving. Critical footwear components such as uppers, PU, Textiles, Midsoles, outsoles, gums come from a vast supplier network. Lee, who also chairs the Allegiance Group, recently signed an agreement to set up operations at the newly announced Taiwanese Industrial Park near Chennai. As a cluster , the resources could be shared effectively for compliance, workforce and machinery. This will significantly reduce process impediments and cut down the timeline . This will help the State compete with manufacturing parks in Vietnam Cambodia and Indonesia. Tamilnadu is seeing a major expansion in manufacturing, producing goods for global consumer electronics and footwear majors such as Apple, Nike, Puma and Adidas thereby integrating deeply into global supply chains.

Tamilnadu’s electronic and electrical production ecosystem is diversifying into EV charger manufacturing. Top players such as Delta India and Eaton are looking at the entire range of chargers from small 60kw to 350 kw as the demand switches towards fast charging and multiple charging guns for both big and small EVs. While India’s 30 thousand strong EV charging network offers huge opportunities , manufacturers are looking to export too.

In Karnataka, a three day synchronised elephant survey concluded yesterday. The elephant survey was conducted in 10 Forest divisions located on the interstate boundary with Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. It was conducted in 65 forest ranges and 563 beats of Nagarhole Tiger Reserve, Bandipur Tiger Reserve, MM Hills Wildlife, BRT Tiger Reserve, Bannerghatta National Park, Madikeri Wildlife, Cauvery Wildlife sanctuaries and Kolar. The forest department engaged 1689 personnel for the exercise. The waterholes, salt licks and open areas were surveyed with photographic evidence.

Telangana state is set to get the Southwest Monsoons early as Kerala already received eight days ahead of usual time. The IMD-Hyderabad has issued a heavy rainfall warning to several districts of Telangana for the next five days till May 30. The officials also noted the advancement of monsoons into West-Central and East-Central Arabian Sea, parts of Karnataka, entire Goa and parts of Maharashtra, parts of West-Central and North Bay of Bengal and parts of Mizoram.
Hyderabad Met Centre chief, Dr K Nagaratna informed that the weather is fast changing in Telangana with the onset of Southwest Monsoons in Kerala. She said there will be a drop in thunderstorms, which were pretty intense till recently during summer.
The officials forecast that light to moderate rainfall is very likely at several locations in the state and the maximum temperatures are likely to remain below the normal by at least 5 and 7 degrees Celsius.

पश्चिम बंगाल के दक्षिणी जिलों में आज सोमवार से हल्की से मध्यम बारिश होने की संभावना है। बारिश कल मंगलवार तक जारी रहेगी। इस सप्ताह मंगलवार को बंगाल की खाड़ी के उत्तर और पश्चिम-मध्य में कम दबाव का क्षेत्र बनने की संभावना है। इसके कारण 28 मई से दक्षिण बंगाल के सभी जिलों में बारिश की तीव्रता बढ़ जाएगी। उत्तर बंगाल के जिलों में भी बारिश हो रही है और 29, 30 और 31 मई को इसकी तीव्रता बढ़ जाएगी। मछुआरों को सलाह दी गई है कि वे 28 मई से अगले आदेश तक समुद्र में न जाएं।

पुण्यतिथि और जयंति –
चम्पक रमन पिल्लई
चम्पक रमन पिल्लई का जिनका जन्म हुआ – 15 सितम्बर, 1891; और निधन – 26 मई, 1934) को! वे भारतीय राजनैतिक कार्यकर्ता और क्रांतिकारी थे। हालाँकि उनका जन्म भारत में हुआ था पर उन्होंने अपने जीवन का ज्यादातर भाग जर्मनी में बिताया। उनका नाम उन महान क्रांतिकारियों में शामिल है जिन्होंने अपना सब कुछ दांव पर लगाकर देश की आजादी के लिए प्राण गंवा दिए।
The revolutionary He was born in Thiruvananthapuram in 15 September 1891. His father was a police constable Chinnaswamy Pillai and his mother was Nagammal. He started his struggle for freedom by protesting the Partition of Bengal in 1905. He joined with Bala Gangadhara Tilak in his resistance against the Partition of Bengal. When the British police tried to arrest him because of his revolutionary speeches against the Travancore State government, he escaped to Germany in 1908 with the help of his friend Sir Walter Williams Strickland.

हिन्दी साहित्य में कथाकार, गीतकार और एक समीक्षक के रूप में विशेष तौर पर प्रसिद्ध श्रीकांत वर्मा के बारे में जिनका जन्म तो हुआ था – 18 सितम्बर, 1931, बिलासपुर, छत्तीसगढ़; में लेकिन इन्होने इस संसार से विदा ली – 26 मई, 1986, न्यूयार्क) में। वैसे श्रीकांत वर्मा राजनीति से भी जुड़े हुए थे और 1976 में राज्य सभा के लिए निर्वाचित हुए थे। श्रीकांत वर्मा दिल्ली में पत्रकारिता से भी जुड़ गये थे। वर्ष 1965 से 1977 तक उन्होंने एक प्रसिद्ध अंग्रेजी दैनिक से निकलने वाली पत्रिका ‘दिनमान’ में संवाददाता की हैसियत से कार्य किया। श्रीकांत वर्मा को कई पुरस्कारों से भी सम्मानित किया गया था। श्रीकांत वर्मा द्वारा लिखी गईं मुख्य रचनाओं में शामिल हैं -‘भटका मेघ’, ‘जलसाघर’, ‘गरुड़ किसने देखा’, ‘दूसरे के पैर’, ‘अपोलो का रथ’, ‘फैसले का दिन’ (अनुवाद) आदि।

He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a roughly five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz.
In 2006, Davis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which Recognized him as “one of the key figures in the history of jazz”. Rolling Stone described him as “the most revered jazz trumpeter of all time, not to mention one of the most important musicians of the 20th centurydeaths.

छगनराज चौपासनी वाला, राजस्थान के प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारियों में से एक थे। उन्होंने ‘भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम’ में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी। उनका जन्म 26 मई, 1912 ई. को जोधपुर, राजस्थान में हुआ था। छगनराज जी प्रारम्भ से ही महात्मा गाँधी के रचनात्मक कार्यों में खुलकर भाग लेते थे। सन 1932 से 1939 ई. तक छगनराज चौपासनी वाला जोधपुर के प्रसिद्ध आन्दोलनकारी बने रहे।
