Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the new Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Portal in New Delhi yesterday. The new portal will provide enhanced functionality, advanced security, and a user-friendly experience for the existing over 5 million OCI cardholders and new users. On this occasion, the Home Minister said that India is continuously striving to provide world-class immigration facilities to the OCI cardholders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the new Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Portal. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that with enhanced features and improved functionality, the new OCI Portal marks a major step forward in boosting citizen friendly digital governance.

The inaugural edition of Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) began at Ghoghla Beach in Diu yesterday. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya formally declared the Games open at a colourful ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mandaviya reiterated India’s commitment to become a sporting superpower by 2047.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the inaugural Khelo India Beach Games as a watershed moment in the country’s sporting history. Promising that the Games would make waves in India’s sporting calendar, Prime Minister said, in a nation as diverse as ours, sports has always held a unique power that unites cultures, regions and languages.
Over 1,350 athletes from over 30 states and Union Territories will compete in the KIBG. Athletes will compete across six medal sports: football, volleyball, sepaktakraw, kabaddi, pencak silat and open water swimming. Mallakhamb and tug-of-war are the two non-medal (demonstration) disciplines.

रूस के राष्ट्रपति पुतिन ने पुष्टि की है कि रूस संभावित शांति समझौते पर यूक्रेन के साथ काम करने के लिए तैयार है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वार्ता सही दिशा में आगे बढ़ रही है।

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert warning for Karnataka to predict very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during the next two day. IMD has also issued a red alert warning for Karnataka and adjoining areas of Tamil Nadu, Konkan, Goa and Maharashtra to get very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during the next 3 days. Talking to media, Senior Scientist in IMD, RK Jenamani said that Mumbai will also receive moderate to heavy rainfall from tomorrow. He said that there is no chance of a heat wave intensifying in the northern regions of the country.

The Greater Chennai Corporation is working on a plan to convert vacant land and underused municipal buildings in busy parts of the city into food courts. In the first phase, the Corporation has picked three sites. All three spots will be cleaned up and given a facelift to make affordable food courts with a range of popular cuisines. Deputy Commissioner M.Birathiviraj said that this will be based on the model CMRL adopted near Ashok Nagar metro station. He also told that a consultant will be hired to prepare a detailed project report.

The Greater Chennai Corporation has also proposed air conditioning waiting rooms for gig workers. The Corporation has floated tenders worth Rs. 50 lakh to build two such facilities one in GN Chetty Road in T Nagar and another on Third Avenue in Annanagar. Each facility will be 600 -700 sqft with seating for 20 people, charging points, drinking water, rest rooms, lighting and 24\7 access. The rooms are expected to benefit delivery workers who need a place to wait before completing orders. Each facility will also include 20 to 30 biking slots.

To reduce man elephant conflict in Karnataka-Andhra state border, the Karnataka forest department will hand over trained Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh tomorrow.
Kumki refers to trained captive elephants used to manage wild elephants and particularly to control human elephant conflict. Kamki elephants are also used to nab poachers and for elephant capture operations.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will hand over six elephants to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Forest Minister Pawan Kalyan during a ceremonial function at the state Secretariat building.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has launched the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme from Macharam village in Nagarkurnool district. Under the scheme, tribal farmers will receive free solar pumps for irrigating horticultural crops. The 12-point ‘Nallamala Declaration’ was passed during the launch of the new scheme, which talks about the developmental initiatives for tribals living in the forest areas. The pilot project was launched in 45 acres in Macharam benefiting 45 tribals.
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said the solar pumps will be provided to every farmer across Achampet assembly constituency in 100 days. He also directed the officials to prepare plans to set up solar power plants through the women’s self-help groups (SHG), so that they could gain revenues from that.

दिल्ली नगर निगम के सभी 12 जोन की वार्ड समितियों के अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष पद के निर्वाचन के लिए अगले महीने की दो तारीख को मतदान होगा। निगम सचिव कार्यलय ने इस सम्बन्ध में एक नोटिस जारी कर बताया है कि इसी दिन हर वार्ड समिति से स्थाई समिति के 12 सदस्यों का चुनाव भी किया जायेगा। इन चुनावों के लिए इस महीने की 27 तारीख तक नामांकन दाखिल किया जा सकता है।

दिल्ली पुलिस ने राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण परिषद-एनसीईआरटी की नकली किताबों को छापने और बेचने वाले एक गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ किया है। मीडिया से बातचीत में शाहदरा के उपायुक्त प्रशांत गौतम ने बताया कि पुलिस को गुप्त सूचना मिली थी कि शाहदरा के मंडोली रोड इलाके में इन किताबों की अवैध बिक्री हो रही है।

‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के दौरान भारतीय सेना की बहादुरी को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए आज मुंबई में महिलाओं द्वारा तिरंगा यात्रा निकाली जाएगी। यह यात्रा मुंबई के गावदेवी क्षेत्र से शाम 4:30 बजे शुरू होगी। इस यात्रा में शहीद सैनिकों के परिवार, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता, फिल्म अभिनेत्रियाँ और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति सहित 1,500 से अधिक महिलाएँ भाग लेंगी। इस यात्रा का उद्देश्य ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के प्रति जागरूकता बढाना और भारतीय सेना के प्रति सम्मान व्यक्त करना है।

समय पर कर भुगतान को प्रोत्साहित करने और नागरिक राजस्व को बढ़ाने के लिए, नवी मुंबई नगर निगम (एनएमएमसी) ने 30 जून, 2025 तक अपने 2025-26 संपत्ति कर बिलों का भुगतान करने वाले संपत्ति मालिकों के लिए सामान्य कर घटक पर 10 प्रतिशत ‘अर्ली बर्ड’ छूट की घोषणा की है। यह पहल राजस्व संग्रह को पिछले वर्ष के 826 करोड़ रुपये से बढ़ाकर 1200 करोड़ रुपये करने के लक्ष्य को बढ़ाने के लिए एक व्यापक सुधार रणनीति का हिस्सा है।

He was one of the early officers along with Ranoji Scindia to help spread the Maratha rule to northern states and was given the estate of Indore to rule by the King chief, during the reign of the Maratha emperor Shahu I. He was founder of the Holkar dynasty that ruled Malwa.
