Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh very proudly praised the air warriors and said “The Indian Air Force needed just 23 minutes to dismantle the terror infrastructure nurtured in Pakistan. He said it wouldn’t be wrong to say “In the time, it takes people to have breakfast, you finished off your enemies”.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has hailed Operation Sindoor as a turning point in India’s security doctrine. Addressing a public meeting at Gandhinagar in Gujarat, he said that Operation Sindoor marked a historic shift in India’s national security response. Mr Shah emphasised that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership, Indian armed forces struck deep into Pakistani territory, dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

 

The Home Minister, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, will also address a conference organised by the Gujarat State Co-operative Union at Science City in Ahmedabad in the morning.  Mr Shah will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various people centric projects of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation worth over 1500 crore rupees today. We have a report from our correspondent:

 

“The conference titled Role of Cooperatives in Developed India is being organized as part of the celebrations of the International Year of Cooperatives.  It aims to provide an understanding of the various steps taken by the Ministry of Cooperatives as well as to accelerate cooperative activities in the state. Nearly 4500 cooperative representatives from various cooperative institutions at the village, taluka, district and state levels will be present in this conference. Later, Mr. Shah will visit Gozaria village in Mehsana district to inaugurate a newly-constructed nursing college and address a gathering at the same venue. In the afternoon, Mr Shah will inaugurate a Frozen potato processing plant in Sadra village of Mehsana. In the evening, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various infrastructure projects of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. कृषि मंत्री – नागपुर

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced new port restrictions on the import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India. In a notification, Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry clarified that these restrictions will not apply to goods from Bangladesh that are transiting through India and destined for Nepal and Bhutan. The directive, issued through a notification, has come into immediate effect. The import of all types of readymade garments from Bangladesh will be prohibited through land ports. However, these goods will still be allowed through the seaports of Nhava Sheva and Kolkata.

 

Additionally, the import of fruit, fruit-flavored and carbonated drinks, processed food items, cotton and cotton yarn waste, plastic and PVC finished goods excluding pigments, dyes, plasticizers, and granules used as inputs for domestic industries, and wooden furniture will be restricted.

Israel and Hamas have resumed negotiations to end the ongoing war in Gaza, following a new military offensive launched by Israel. Talks began yesterday in Doha, brokered by Qatari and US mediators. According to an official, Hamas has agreed to release nine hostages in exchange for a 60-day truce and the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel. Israel has yet to respond to the proposal, but prior to the talks, it stated that it would not withdraw troops from Gaza or commit to ending the war.

 

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have intensified, with at least 300 casualties reported since Thursday.

In the IPL cricket, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were eliminated from IPL 2025 as their match against hosts Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was abandoned without a toss due to heavy rain at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium last evening.

 

The washout saw RCB move to the top of the points table with 17 points from 12 matches, ahead of Gujarat Titans 16 points from 11 and Punjab Kings 15 from 11, though both teams still have a game in hand.

 

KKR, with 12 points from 13 matches, are now out of playoff contention, and their final league fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be a mere formality.

As a tribute to the Armed Forces, Akashvani News is presenting a special series. Today we remember the valour of Param Vir Chakra awardee Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav who displayed exemplary bravery during the Kargil War.

 

“A resident of Bulandshahr District of Uttar Pradesh, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav is the youngest person who has been awarded the highest war time gallantry medal Param Vir Chakra for his role during the capture of Tiger Hill in Drass during the Kargil war against Pakistan. Yogendra Singh Yadav was part of the leading team of Ghatak Platoon tasked to capture Tiger Hill on the night of 3rd and 4th July 1999. The approach to the top was steep, snow bound and rocky. Unmindful of the risk involved, he volunteered to be in the lead and fixed rope of his team to climb up. Halfway up, an enemy bunker spotted him and opened up machine gun and rocket fire killing the commander and two of his colleagues and the platoon was stalled. Realising the gravity of the situation, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav crawled up to the enemy position to silence it and in the process sustained multiple injuries. Unmindful of his injuries and in the hail of enemy bullets, he continued climbing towards the enemy positions. Lobbing grenades and continuously firing from his weapon, he killed four enemy soldiers in close combat. Despite multiple injuries, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav refused to be evacuated and continued the charge. Inspired by his gallant act, the platoon charged on to the other positions with renewed punch and captured Tiger Hill Top. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav displayed the most conspicuous courage, indomitable gallantry, grit and determination under extreme adverse circumstances. The Nation Salutes him. The Indian Coast Guard thwarted a fuel smuggling attempt in the Gulf of Mannar on Saturday. In response to an input from the customs department about suspicious activities in the Gulf of Mannar, the Indian Coast Guard Station Mandapam carried out a joint operation resulting in the seizure of about 600 litres  of petrol , way beyond permissible limits, onboard an Indian fishing boat along with three crew members off the Musal Theevu, Gulf of Mannar. Investigations by the Department of Customs are in progress. This is yet another successful operation to thwart illegal trade through sea.

Valluvar Kottam, a landmark in Chennai city, is all set to open by the end of this month with a new look. A sprawling 1600 seater AC auditorium is the centerpiece of an ambitious 80 Crore renovation project. दिल्‍ली–मास्‍टर प्‍लान 2041

 

दिल्ली के लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री प्रवेश वर्मा ने बताया कि राजधानी का बहुप्रतीक्षित मास्टर प्लान 2041 जल्द ही लागू किया जाएगा। श्री वर्मा ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के भविष्य को नया आकार देने की दिशा में इस प्‍लान को एक बड़ा कदम बताया। पेश है एक रिपोर्ट-

 

इस मास्टर प्लान के लागू होने पर दिल्ली के लगभग 48 गांवों का शहरीकरण किया जाएगा। यह केवल एक तकनीकी प्रक्रिया नहीं है, बल्कि एक बड़ा सामाजिक और आर्थिक परिवर्तन है, जिससे गांवों को आधुनिक शहरी सुविधाओं से जोड़ा जाएगा। शहरीकरण के बाद इन गांवों में सड़कों का जाल, बेहतर सीवरेज, पानी की आपूर्ति, स्ट्रीट लाइटिंग, स्कूल, अस्पताल और अन्य मूलभूत सुविधाएं विकसित की जाएंगी। श्री वर्मा ने कहा कि राजधानी में अब ग्रामीण चौपालों, सामुदायिक केंद्रों, गलियों का विकास शुरू हो गया है। उन्‍होंने कहा कि  नई दिल्ली की तरह दिल्ली के ग्रामीण इलाकों का विकास करना भी उनकी सरकार की प्राथमिकता है।

 

लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री ने संबंधित विभागों और अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि इस प्‍लान से जुड़े सभी कार्य समयबद्ध और जनहित को ध्यान में रखकर पूरे किए जाएं।

केंद्रीय संस्कृति मंत्रालय ने पुष्टि की है कि एएसआई आज अपने 52 संग्रहालयों और टिकट से प्रवेश वाले वाले स्मारकों को बिना किसी शुल्क के जनता के लिए खोल रहा है। इसका उद्देश्य व्यापक सार्वजनिक भागीदारी को प्रोत्साहित करना है।

रीमा लागू (अंग्रेज़ी: Reema Lagoo, जन्म- 3 फ़रवरी, 1958; मृत्यु- 18 मई, 2017, मुम्बई) हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की शानदार अभिनेत्री थीं। मुख्यत: उन्हें फ़िल्मों में माँ की शानदार भूमिकाएँ निभाने के लिए जाना जाता है। फ़िल्म ‘मैंने प्यार किया’ की साथिन माँ हो या ‘वास्तव’ की कठोर माँ या फिर ‘ये दिल्लगी’ की मालिकाना माँ, रीमा लागू की इन भूमिकाओं का कोई सानी नहीं था इनकी मुख्‍य फिल्‍में हैं -‘मैंने प्यार किया’, ‘वास्तव’, ‘आशिकी’, ‘साजन’, ‘हम आपके हैं कौन’, ‘हम साथ साथ हैं’, ‘कयामत से कयामत तक’, नाजायज़, ‘पत्थर के फूल’ आदि

 

। उन्होंने नए जमाने की माँ की भूमिकाओं को खूब चरितार्थ किया। ‘आशिकी’, ‘साजन’, ‘हम आपके हैं कौन’, ‘मैंने प्यार किया, ‘वास्तव’, ‘कुछ कुछ होता है’ और ‘हम साथ साथ हैं’ जैसी कई फ़िल्मों में रीमा ने माँ का जीवंत किरदार निभाया। उन्होंने सलमान ख़ान के लिए कई फ़िल्मों में उनकी माँ की भूमिका निभाई। टीवी सीरियल ‘तू तू मैं मैं’ में वह सास के किरदार में थीं।
