During the meeting, the discussion took place about the appointment of the next CBI Director. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and extended condolences to the families of the victims. He said that targeting civilians is unacceptable and those responsible must be brought to justice through credible lawful means. IIT Madras Swayam Plus has launched free AI courses for students and working professionals. These courses aim to make AI accessible across disciplines such as arts, science, commerce and other fields beyond engineering with 12th May being the last date to apply. The key focus of these courses is to make AI available for everyone as no prior AI knowledge is required to apply for these courses. Prof. R.Sarathi, Dean and Coordination of Swayam Plus said that these Courses which are aligned to the National Credit Framework can be taken by Higher Education institutions as a credit program for the upcoming academic calendar as well. These Courses aim to make AI accessible across disciplines not only to engineering students but also to the others.

Administrator Tushar Giri Nath has directed Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials to be fully prepared for the upcoming monsoon and take steps to prevent flooding and rain-related issues in the city. In a recent meeting, he instructed officials and other civic agencies to act swiftly in 209 flood-prone areas. He also informed that so far, 166 flood-prone locations have been addressed, while work is still pending at 43 sites.
He also asked officials to inspect ongoing works by departments like Metro Rail, K-RIDE, and KPTCL, list necessary repairs, and assign tasks to the relevant agencies to avoid rain-related mishaps. Additionally, traffic police have identified 82 waterlogging spots on major roads, and BBMP has been told to clean side drains by dredging them.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to speed up clearances for several key infrastructure projects in Telangana, especially in and around Hyderabad. The Chief Minister met him at Begumpet airport last evening and discussed in detail pending issues regarding the Regional Ring Road (RRR), radial roads and greenfield expressways that are crucial for easing traffic congestion and promoting connectivity in the capital. The Chief Minister requested Union Minister to accord early financial and cabinet approvals for the northern part of the RRR, for which tenders have already been invited. The Union Minister has inaugurated several highway projects and laid foundation stone to several others worth a total 6100 crore rupees yesterday in Telangana.

अपने संबोधन में श्री शाह ने कहा कि इन तीन नए आपराधिक कानूनों के कार्यान्वयन से ज़मीनी स्तर पर पुलिस विभाग की कार्यकुशलता और ज़िम्मेदारी बढ़ेगी।

पिछले सप्ताह नई दिल्ली के राष्ट्रीय प्राणी उद्यान में पांच वर्षीय एशियाई शेरनी महागौरी ने 16 वर्षों में पहली बार चार शावकों को जन्म दिया। दुर्भाग्य से, दो शावकों की खराब स्वास्थ्य के कारण मृत्यु हो गई। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया कि वर्तमान में शेष शावकों और महागौरी पर सीसीटीवी कैमरों के माध्यम से चिड़ियाघर के अधिकारियों द्वारा चौबीसों घंटे निगरानी की जा रही है।

एक हजार से अधिक जानवरों को आश्रय देने वाले राष्ट्रीय प्राणी उद्यान ने भीषण गर्मी से निपटने के लिए भी कई कदम उठाए हैं। आकाशवाणी समाचार से बात करते हुए निदेशक ने बताया कि चिड़ियाघर प्राधिकरण मौसम के अनुसार जानवरों के आहार में बदलाव कर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि जानवरों को पानी से भरपूर वाली सब्जियां और फल भी दिए जा रहे हैं।

नई दिल्ली नगरपालिका परिषद-एनडीएमसी ने कल से अपने सभी 14 स्वच्छता सर्किलों में श्रमदान के रूप में एक मेगा स्वच्छता अभियान शुरू किया है। एनडीएमसी के बताया कि इस अभियान के दौरान, जीरो टॉलरेंस की नीति अपनाते हुए सख्त प्रवर्तन और निगरानी के साथ, अनधिकृत विक्रेताओं, विक्रेताओं के पास कूड़ेदानों की कमी, एकल-उपयोग प्लास्टिक का उपयोग, सार्वजनिक कूड़ा-कचरा और अवैध होर्डिंग तथा सार्वजनिक संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचाने वालों पर कार्रवाई होगी। इस अभियान के अंतर्गत अगले 20 दिनों तक परिषद के सभी अधिकारी और कर्मचारी प्रतिदिन एक घंटा श्रमदान करेंगे।

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग ने कल नई दिल्ली स्थित अपने मुख्यालय में महिला महा जनसुनवाई शिविर की शुरूआत की। पांच दिनों तक चलने वाले इस शिविर का उद्देश्य महिलाओं की समस्याओं का त्वरित समाधान उपलब्ध कराना है। शिविर के उद्घाटन के बाद मीडिया से बातचीत में दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि यह एक अच्छी पहल है। उन्होंने कहा कि पांच दिनों तक चलने वाले इस शिविर में लंबित मामलों में तेज़ी लाकर उनका समाधान किया जायेगा।

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने कल भारत में गोद लेने के मामलों में हो रही देरी और बढ़ते बैकलॉग का स्वतः संज्ञान लेते हुए केंद्र सरकार और केंद्रीय दत्तक ग्रहण संसाधन प्राधिकरण को नोटिस जारी किया। यह कदम मुख्य न्यायाधीश आलोक अराधे और न्यायमूर्ति एमएस कार्णिक की पीठ द्वारा एक पत्र और हाल ही में प्रकाशित एक समाचार रिपोर्ट की समीक्षा के बाद उठाया गया, जिसमें भावी दत्तक माता-पिता द्वारा सामना किए जाने वाले अत्यधिक प्रतीक्षा अवधि को उजागर किया गया था।

भारत में उद्योगों के लिए कोयले की कमी नहीं होगी। सरकार कम प्रदूषण फैलाने वाले कोयले के इस्तेमाल पर ध्यान दे रही है। केंद्रीय कोयला एवं खनन राज्य मंत्री सतीश चंद्र दुबे ने सोमवार को पश्चिम बंगाल के पश्चिम बर्धमान जिले के सतकोड़िया स्थित ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड ईसीएल मुख्यालय में यह बात कही। उन्होंने बताया कि लौह एवं इस्पात उद्योग, लघु उद्योग, बिजली उत्पादन संयंत्रों आदि के लिए कोयले की उपलब्धता सामान्य रहेगी।

वो भारतीय सेना के उन जांबाज सैनिकों में से एक थे, जिन्होंने मातृभूमि की रक्षा के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहूति दी। उत्तर प्रदेश के ज़िला हरदोई में पाली नगर के मोहल्ला काजीसराय में 6 मई, 1972 को जन्मे आबिद ख़ान बचपन से ही वीर थे। लांस नायक आबिद ख़ान ने कारगिल युद्ध में टाइगर हिल की चोटी पर 17 पाकिस्तानी घुसपैठियों को मौत की नींद सुलाया था। इस युद्ध में अपनी वीरता का परिचय देते हुए कई भारतीय सैनिक शहीद हुए थे। शहीद सैनिकों में लांस नायक आबिद ख़ान भी शामिल थे। उनके बलिदान पर आज भी पूरा देश गर्व करता है।30 जून, 1999 को आबिद ख़ान जत्था रवाना हुआ। दुश्मन की गोलाबारी के बीच कई सैनिक शहीद हो गए। एक गोली आबिद के पैर में भी आ लगी। उसके बाबजूद उन्होंने हिम्मत न हारते हुए आगे बढ़कर एक साथ 32 फायर झोंक दिए। आबिद के इस ताबड़तोड़ हमले में 17 पाक सैनिकों की लाशें बिछ गईं। इसी बीच एक और गोली आबिद को आ लगी, जिससे यह वीर सपूत देश की रक्षा करता हुआ 1 जुलाई, 1999 को शहीद हो गया।
