Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution denouncing Pahalgam terror attack. In a strongly-worded resolution, assembly expressed shock and anguish over the incident and resolved to fight resolutely to defeat the nefarious designs to disturb communal harmony and hinder progress of the nation and of Jammu and Kashmir. The resolution, moved by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary during a special session of the Assembly, was passed by voice vote.
Addressing the Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Kashmir has revolted against terrorism for the first time since the onset of terrorism, following the Pahalgam attack. The Chief Minister praised the spontaneous outpouring of grief and condemnation across the region, marking the beginning of the end of terrorism.

उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कल से शुरू हो रही चार धाम यात्रा – 2025 के दौरान व्यवस्था की समीक्षा के लिए राज्य के सभी जिलाधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की। एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में श्री धामी ने कहा कि दो मई से श्रद्धालु बाबा केदार और केदारनाथ धाम के दर्शन कर सकेंगे। चार धाम यात्रा – 2025 के लिए Offline पंजीकरण कल से शुरू हो गया है। दिव्यांगजनों, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों, और विदेशी नागरिकों के लिए विशेष काउंटर स्थापित किए गए हैं। इसके अलावा बीस नि:शुल्क पंजीकरण काउंटर भी स्थापित किए गए हैं। उत्तराखंड सरकार ने वार्षिक तीर्थ यात्रा के लिए श्रद्धालुओं की भीड नियंत्रित करने के लिए व्यापक प्रबंध किए हैं। हर वर्ष यमुनोत्री, गंगोत्री, केदारनाथ और बद्रीनाथ के पवित्र स्थलों के लिए हजारों श्रद्धालु दर्शनों के लिए आते हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने चार धाम यात्रा को देखते हुए राज्यभर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कडी करने के निर्देश दिये हैं।

Mr Goyal arrived in London for two days of discussions aimed at strengthening investment ties and bilateral trade. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the talks on the Free Trade Agreement between India and the UK are being relaunched, and both sides are committed to moving the agreement forward.

Pondicherry University and Central Power Research Institute Bangalore officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding marking a significant milestone in fostering academic and research collaboration. The agreement, signed in a ceremony brings together two premier institutions to drive innovations in the electrical power systems, renewable energy technologies, and sustainable development solutions.
The Vice chancellor of the University Prof. P. Prakash Babu, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating that it aligns well with the university’s aspiration to strengthen industry-academic linkages. The MoU establishes multiple avenues for the collaboration, including joint research projects, faculty exchange programs and expert lectures, student internships and hands-on training at CPRI facilities.

The Zilla Panchayat and Education department in Karnataka will jointly organise the Summer Camp for students studying from class three to eighth standard. To be organised from May 2nd to 26th, the Summer camp will entertain children along with creating awareness on various subjects. The Camp will teach the students leadership qualities and communication skills along with reading and writing skills. They will be educated about nature conservation, Civic sense, social responsibilities and local culture, traditions, lifestyles, historical significance and Yoga among other things.

In Telangana, several women in distress turned up at the Jan Sunwai public hearing organised under the Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwaar initiative by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in Hyderabad yesterday. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar personally heard several cases and departments concerned have been instructed to respond within a week and complaints were immediately documented via email. The NCW has assured that the programme will be conducted in districts too soon, as most of the women have come from the surroundings of Hyderabad. Many well educated women also narrated struggles involving domestic violence, dowry harassment, sexual harassment and NRI marital disputes.

केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम और गैस मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी तथा दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कल नई दिल्ली के त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री वय वंदना योजना का शुभारंभ किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने लाभार्थियों को वय वंदना कार्ड वितरित किए। कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए श्री पुरी ने कहा कि इस योजना को वैश्विक स्तर पर एक स्वास्थ्य मॉडल के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि कैशलेस सुविधा इस योजना की एक बड़ी विशेषता है, जो किसी अन्य स्वास्थ्य योजना में उपलब्ध नहीं है। वहीं, दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार इस योजना के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के वरिष्ठ नागरिकों का सम्मान कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार आज से इस योजना के लिए पंजीकरण शुरू कर रही है। योजना के अंतर्गत 70 वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को प्रति वर्ष 10 लाख रुपये तक की निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य सुविधा प्रदान की जाती है।

राजधानी में नागरिकों को सडक सुरक्षा के बारे जागरूक करने के लिए दिल्ली यातायात पुलिस द्वारा विभिन्न जागरूकता अभियान चलाए जा रहे हैं। इसी कडी में कल कई निजी स्कूलों में कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रमों में शामिल छात्रों ने सड़क सुरक्षा से जुड़ी जानकारी प्राप्त की। दिल्ली यातायात पुलिस ने बताया कि इन कार्यक्रमों का उद्देश्य छात्रों को यातायात के नियमों, सड़क सुरक्षा और अनुशासन के साथ-साथ वाहन चलाने के प्रति संवेदनशील बनाना है।

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा है कि महाराष्ट्र लोक सेवा अधिकार अधिनियम को और अधिक जनोन्मुखी बनाने के प्रयास किए जाने चाहिए। मुख्यमंत्री, महाराष्ट्र लोक सेवा अधिकार अधिनियम, 2015 के “कार्यान्वयन के दशक” और “प्रथम सेवा अधिकार दिवस” के उपलक्ष्य में सामान्य प्रशासन विभाग (प्रशासनिक नवाचार, उत्कृष्टता और सुशासन) और महाराष्ट्र राज्य सेवा अधिकार आयोग के सहयोग से सह्याद्री गेस्ट हाउस में आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय समारोह में बोल रहे थे। फडणवीस ने कहा कि वर्तमान में महाराष्ट्र लोक सेवा अधिकार अधिनियम के तहत 1,000 से अधिक सेवाओं को अधिसूचित किया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि लगभग 583 सेवाएं ऑनलाइन प्रदान की जा रही हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने निर्देश दिया कि सभी सरकारी विभाग 15 अगस्त 2025 तक सभी सेवाओं को ऑनलाइन करें।

मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा है कि बुलेट ट्रेन परियोजना पर काम तेजी से आगे बढ़ रहा है और 2028 तक बुलेट ट्रेन चालू हो जाएगी। श्री फडणवीस सोमवार को मुंबई में भारत-मध्य पूर्व-यूरोप कॉरिडोर शिखर सम्मेलन में एक साक्षात्कार के दौरान बोल रहे थे, जहां उन्होंने महाराष्ट्र में चल रही विभिन्न बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं की चर्चा की। इन परियोजनाओं में वधावन पोर्ट, शक्तिपीठ राजमार्ग, तटीय सड़क और अटल सेतु शामिल हैं।

बांद्रा (पश्चिम) में पाली हिल की ओर जाने वाली सड़क पर भारी ट्रैफिक जाम की समस्या के समाधान के लिए मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने बांद्रा किले के पास होटल ताज लैंड्स एंड के पास स्वातंत्र्यवीर सावरकर सी ब्रिज परियोजना को अतिरिक्त संपर्क मार्ग बनाने की सैद्धांतिक मंजूरी दे दी है। मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस की अध्यक्षता में सोमवार को सह्याद्री गेस्ट हाउस में बांद्रा (पश्चिम) विधानसभा क्षेत्र में विभिन्न सार्वजनिक कार्यों के संबंध में बैठक हुई। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री ने एमएमआरडीए को इस उद्देश्य के लिए एक योजना तैयार करने के निर्देश दिए।

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने पर्यटन क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा देने और पर्यटकों की सुरक्षा को प्राथमिकता देने के लिए ‘महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन सुरक्षा बल (पर्यटन मित्र)’ की स्थापना करने का निर्णय लिया है। महाराष्ट्र के पर्यटन मंत्री शंभुराज देसाई ने बताया कि पर्यटन क्षेत्र में बढ़ते अवसरों और प्राकृतिक और सांस्कृतिक विविधता को देखते हुए, इस समर्पित सुरक्षा बल के माध्यम से सुरक्षित पर्यटन अनुभव प्रदान करने के लिए यह निर्णय लिया गया है।

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार 744 प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों या आयुष्मान आरोग्य केंद्रों का जीर्णोद्धार करेगी। उत्तर बंगाल के 6 जिलों में 192 आयुष्मान आरोग्य केंद्र हैं। प्रत्येक आरोग्य केंद्र के लिए सात लाख रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं। इन केन्दों पर टेलीमेडिसिन सेवा भी उपलब्ध होगी।

बालकृष्ण शर्मा नवीन (8 दिसम्बर, 1897 – 29 अप्रैल, 1960) आज हम स्मरण कर रहे हैं हिन्दी सहित्यकार बालकृष्ण शर्मा नवीन को जिनकी आज पुण्य तिथि है। बालकृष्ण शर्मा ने एक कवि और गद्यकार के रूप में साहित्य की सेवा की। वह अद्वितीय वक्ता भी थे। प्रगतिशील लेखन के अग्रणी सहित्यकार पंडित बालकृष्ण शर्मा “नवीन” का जन्म 8 दिसम्बर, 1897 में ग्वालियर में हुआ था। उन्होंने उज्जैन से दसवीं और कानपुर से इंटर की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की। उन्होंने ‘उर्मिला’ का लेखन 1921 में प्रारम्भ किया, जो पूरा हुआ 1934 में। यह कृति प्रकाशित होती है सन् 1957 में। इस काव्य में द्विवेदी युग की इतिवृत्तात्मकता, स्थूल नैतिकता या प्रयोजन स्पष्ट देखे जा सकते हैं। छह सर्गों वाले इस ग्रन्थ में उर्मिला के जन्म से लेकर लक्ष्मण से पुनर्मिलन तक की कथा कही गयी है। उर्मिला का विरह कवि की प्रकृति के अनुकूल था और कला की दृष्टि से सबसे सरस एवं प्रौढ़ अंश वही है।

अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ (29 अप्रैल, 1919 – 3 फ़रवरी, 2000) सुविख्यात तबला वादक अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ का भी हम आज स्मरण कर रहे हैं जिनकी आज जयंती है। अल्ला रक्खा भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ एकल तबला वादकों में से एक थे। अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ 12 वर्ष की उम्र से ही तबले पर ताल में माहिर हो गए थे। अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ ने उस्ताद क़ादिर बक्श से तबले की तालीम ली। इसी दौरान आपको गायकी सीखने का भी अवसर मिला। अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ ने 1945 से 1948 के बीच सिनेमाई दुनिया में भी अपनी किस्मत आज़मायी। लेकिन इनका मन फिल्मी दुनिया में बहुत समय तक नहीं लगा। उन्होंने बड़े ग़ुलाम अली ख़ाँ, उस्ताद अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ, पंडित वसंत राय और पंडित रविशंकर जैसे बडे कलाकारों के साथ संगत की। पंडित रविशंकर के साथ उस्ताद अल्ला रक्खा ख़ाँ का तबला वादन काफी लोकप्रिय हुआ। इस श्रंखला में 1967 का मोन्टेनरि पोप फ़ेस्टिवल तथा 1969 का वुडस्टाक फ़ेस्टिवल बहुत लोकप्रिय हुए। संगीत के क्षेत्र में आपके योगदान के लिए भारत सरकार ने 1977 में पद्मश्री सम्मान से अलंकृत किया। 1982 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी ने अकादमी अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया।

Gesner invented kerosene oil and, because of his patents for distilling bituminous material, was a founder of the modern Petroleum Industry. He studied, described and mapped the distribution of rock formations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. His father, Col Henry Gesner, was exiled from a large farm in New York State and moved to the Annapolis Valley.

भारत के धार्मिक महाकाव्य रामायण को जब टीवी पर्दे पर उतारा गया तो समूचा भारत उस धारावाहिक का जैसे हिस्सा बन गया। रामानन्द सागर के सुप्रसिद्ध टीवी धारावाहिक के कलाकारों को देवतुल्य सम्मान मिला। सीता की भूमिका निभाने वाली दीपिका चिखालिया भी उन्हीं में से एक हैं, आज दीपिका जी का जन्म दिन है। वह समय ऐसा था कि लोग दीपिका को सीता समझने लगे थे। दीपिका चिखालिया ने कई अन्य पौराणिक धारावाहिकों में भी अभिनय किया। रामायण धारावाहिक की लोकप्रियता पर दीपिका चिखालिया का कहना है कि लोग हमें देख का श्रद्धा भाव से झुक जाते थे।

Especially, he was notable for making affordable lithographs of his paintings available to the public, which greatly enhanced his reach and influence as a painter and public figure. His lithographs increased the involvement of common people with fine arts and defined artistic tastes among the common people. He was part of the royal family of erstwhile Parappanad, Malappuram district.

इरफ़ान अली ख़ान (7 जनवरी 1967-29 अप्रैल 2020) सुप्रसिद्ध अभिनेता इरफ़ान ख़ान की आज पुण्यतिथि है। भारतीय सिनेमा और सिने प्रेमियों के बीच कभी न भुलाए जा सकने वाले उनके अभिनय ने उन्हें अमर बना दिया। यह अलग बात है कि महज 53 वर्ष की अल्पायू में 2020 में आज ही के दिन दु दुनिया से अलविदा कह गए। उन्होंने द वारियर, मकबूल, हासिल, द नेमसेक, हिन्दी मीडियम जैसी फिल्मों में जबरदस्त अभिनय किया। हासिल फिल्म के लिये उन्हे वर्ष 2004 का सर्वश्रेष्ठ खलनायक के लिए फ़िल्मफ़ेयर पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ। उन्होंने बहुत अधिक फिल्मों में अभिनय तो नहीं किया लेकिन जिस भी फिल्म में उन्हें मौका मिला, उन्होंने अपने किरदार को यादगार बना दिया। हिन्दी सिनेमा की 30 से ज्यादा फिल्में करने वाले इरफान को हॉलीवुड में भी पहचान मिली। 2011 में उन्हें पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया। 2017 में प्रदर्शित हिंदी मीडियम के लिए उन्हें फ़िल्मफ़ेयर सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेता चुना गया।

She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her rendition of the song “Porale Ponnuthayi” from the film Karuththamma. The song was composed by A. R. Rahman.
