रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने पहलगाम आतंकी हमले के बाद सेना की तैयारियों पर विचार-विमर्श के लिये कल प्रमुख रक्षा अध्यक्ष जनरल अनिल चौहान से मुलाकात की। रक्षा मंत्री के निवास पर लगभग चालीस मिनट तक चली बैठक में रक्षा मंत्री को सेना की रणनीति और तैयारियों की जानकारी दी गयी।
सीमा सुरक्षा बल के अधिकारी भी बल की तैयारियों से संबंधित मुद्दों पर बैठक के लिये कल दिल्ली में थे। बल के महानिदेशक दलजीत सिंह चौधरी कल गृह मंत्रालय गये।
इस बीच भारतीय नौसेना ने कल भी सफलतापूर्वक पोतरोधी मिसाइल अभ्यास किया और कहा कि वह किसी भी स्थिति से निपटने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है।

In Jammu and Kashmir, on the request of the Cabinet, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned a one-day Special Session of the Legislative Assembly today to discuss Pahalgam terror attack in which 25 tourists and a local were killed and many others were injured. The Assembly will pay tribute to those killed in the terror attack followed by discussion on the incident and related issues and then passing a resolution strongly condemning the incident which sent shock waves not only in the country but across the world.
The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on April 23 had recommended to the Lieutenant Governor for the convening of special Assembly session on April 28 in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. The Assembly has been called at 10.30 AM today which is likely to adopt a resolution condemning the terror attack on the tourists. The resolution has been drafted and will be introduced in the House followed by speeches by leaders of different political parties and reply by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The resolution will be adopted unanimously as all political parties have strongly condemned the terror attack. There could be around two-hour discussion on the resolution in the Assembly before it is adopted and it will send a strong message that entire House is united in condemning the terrorism. There is no other agenda before the House except for the Pahalgam terror attack. The Lieutenant Governor in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under section 18 (1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, has summoned the Legislative Assembly to meet at Jammu today at 10.30 AM. This is a rare occasion when a special session of the Legislature is being called. The Budget session of the Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on April 9. A teams of Officials from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), COIMBATORE Branch Office, conducted Enforcement Search and Seizure Raid operations at M/s. Sandfits Foundaries Private Limited, Kannampalayam, Sulur, — based on information of suspected violation of BIS Act, 2016. The factory was found to be manufacturing, storing and selling the Grey Iron Castings without valid BIS Licence. Stock of more than 20 Metric Tonnes of Grey Iron Castings worth approximately Rs.25 Lakhs were seized for violation of Cast Iron Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
V Gopinath, head of Coimbatore Branch of the BIS stated that action would be initiated against the offender under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना के तहत दिल्ली में 70 वर्ष या इससे अधिक उम्र के वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को आज से आयुष्मान वय वंदना कार्ड जारी किए जाएंगे। ये वरिष्ठ नागरिक दस लाख रुपये तक के निशुल्क उपचार की सुविधा ले सकेंगे। कार्ड वितरण के लिये दिल्ली के त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में केन्द्रीय पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी और मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता शामिल होंगे।
इस योजना के तहत पांच लाख रुपये का इलाज आयुष्मान भारत के तहत मिलेगा और पांच लाख रुपये का अतिरिक्त स्वास्थ्य बीमा दिल्ली सरकार मुहैया कराएगी। योजना के अंतर्गत उपचार के लिये देश के लगभग 32 हजार सरकारी और निजी अस्पताल सूचीबद्ध हैं।

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा है कि राजधानी के ग्रामीण इलाकों के समग्र विकास के लिए सरकार ने एक हजार दो सौ करोड़ रुपये का विशेष कोष बनाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार गांवों के बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत करने के लिए तेजी से काम कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसी दिशा में अब तक 110 गांवों को इन्द्रप्रस्थ गैस पाइपलाइन से जोड़ा जा चुका है। मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि आने वाले समय में सरकार ग्रामीण इलाकों के लोगों को बेहतर सुविधाएं मुहैया कराएगी।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर पालिका (BMC) 2 मई से 12 जून, 2025 तक छात्रों के लिए “लेट्स रीड! वेकेशन लाइब्रेरी” नामक एक अभिनव पहल शुरू कर रहा है। इस अवधि के दौरान, प्रत्येक प्रशासनिक क्षेत्र में एक पुस्तकालय प्रतिदिन सुबह 10:00 बजे से दोपहर 1:00 बजे तक और शाम 4:00 बजे से शाम 6:00 बजे तक खुला रहेगा। BMC स्कूलों (कक्षा 6 से 10) और निजी स्कूलों के छात्र इस पहल से लाभान्वित हो सकते हैं। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य छात्रों को गर्मी की छुट्टियों के दौरान मोबाइल फोन और टेलीविजन से दूर रखना और पढ़ने की आदतों और मनोरंजक पढ़ने को प्रोत्साहित करना है। गर्मी की छुट्टियों के दौरान प्रत्येक प्रशासनिक (वार्ड) कार्यालय के केंद्रीय विद्यालय भवनों में कुल 25 पुस्तकालय संचालित होंगे। छात्रों को नामांकन के लिए अपना स्कूल आईडी, आधार कार्ड और माता-पिता की सहमति पत्र प्रस्तुत करना होगा।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) ने शहर भर में सीमेंट कंक्रीट (सीसी) सड़क निर्माण कार्य में तेज़ी ला दी है, जिसका लक्ष्य 2025 के मानसून से पहले ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा सड़कें बनाना है। पिछले हफ़्ते (17-23 अप्रैल) में 2,650 रेडी-मिक्स कंक्रीट मिक्सर ट्रकों का इस्तेमाल किया गया, यानी औसतन 378 ट्रक प्रतिदिन। लगभग 18,560 क्यूबिक मीटर उच्च गुणवत्ता वाली पेवमेंट क्वालिटी कंक्रीट (पीक्यूसी) बिछाई गई है। डामर की तुलना में कंक्रीट की सड़कों को ज़्यादा टिकाऊ समाधान माना जाता है, जो भारी ट्रैफ़िक और मौसम के बदलावों के लिए बेहतर प्रतिरोध प्रदान करती हैं। बीएमसी के अधिकारी गुणवत्ता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए लगातार साइट निरीक्षण कर रहे हैं। इसे पूरा करने के प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।

Telangana state Government has appointed the Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, K. Ramakrishna Rao, of 1991 IAS batch, as the Chief Secretary of Telangana in place of A. Ramakrishna Rao played a key role in taking decisions regarding finances and seeking funds from the Centre. The government issued orders appointing K. भारतीय उद्योगपति और ऑटोमोबाइल क्षेत्र के अग्रणी उद्यमी थ्रिस्सुर वेंगाराम सुन्दरम अयंगर (जन्म- 22 मार्च, 1877; मृत्यु- 28 अप्रॅल, 1955) ने भी आज ही के दिन दुनिया को अलविदा कहा था। 1930 के दशक में जब मोटर की सवारी करना एक दुर्लभ सपना था, तब टी. वी. सुन्दरम अयंगर ने मदुरै के ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में बस सेवा शुरू की। उन्होंने वर्ष 1911 में ‘टी वी सुन्दरम अयंगर एंड संस’ नामक एक बस कंपनी की स्थापना की, जो आगे चलकर ऑटोमोबाइल निर्माण के क्षेत्र में विकसित हुई। यह समूह आगे जाकर ‘टीवीएस ग्रुप’ बन गया। आज ‘टीवीएस ग्रुप’ भारत के बड़े व्यापारिक और औद्योगिक घरानों में से एक है।

आज महान सेनानायक बाजीराव पेशवा प्रथम की भी पुण्यतिथि है। बाजीराव पेशवा को लोग ‘बाजीराव बल्लाल’, ‘थोरले बाजीराव’ के नाम से जानते थे और उन्हें प्रेम से लोग अपराजित हिन्दू सेनानी सम्राट भी कहते थे। उन्होंने अपने कुशल नेतृत्व और रणकौशल के बल पर मराठा साम्राज्य का विस्तार किया था। बाजीराव पेशवा का जन्म ब्राह्मण परिवार में बालाजी विश्वनाथ राव के यहां हुआ था। तलवारबाजी में दक्ष, घुड़सवारी में निपुण, सर्वोत्तम रणनीतिकार और नेता के रूप में प्रख्यात बाजीराव प्रथम ने मात्र 20 वर्ष की आयु में शाही औपचारिकताओं के साथ पेशवा का पद ग्रहण किया। बताया जाता है कि उन्होंने लगातार 42 युद्ध लड़े और खास बात यह है कि वे एक भी लड़ाई में हारे नहीं। उनके जीवन पर संजय लीला भंसाली ने बाजीराव-मस्तानी फइल्म भी बनाई है।
