The second round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran over Iran’s nuclear program has concluded in Rome with signs of cautious optimism. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that there is movement forward and that the two sides have reached an agreement on some principles yesterday. In a social media post, he said relatively positive atmosphere in Rome has enabled progress on principles and objectives of a possible deal.

US Vice President J.D. Vance will be on a four-day official visit to India beginning tomorrow. External Affairs Ministry in a statement said, this will be Mr Vance’s first visit to India. During his stay, he will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. The Vice President and his delegation will have other engagements in Delhi and are also scheduled to visit Jaipur and Agra. The visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to review the progress in bilateral relations and the implementation of the outcomes of the India-U.S. Joint Statement issued on 13th of February this year during the visit of the Prime Minister to the US. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

The Southern Railways introduced an AC Sub urban train between Chennai Beach to Chengalpet. There will be three up and down trips daily with two full length train services between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu and one shorter service between Chennai Beach and Tambaram. These services will not operate throughout the day. Instead, the AC rake will run in two sessions -morning and evening – with a nearly five hour break in between for routine maintenance. As maintenance window is essential and only one AC rake is currently available, it will be serviced at Tambaram. An additional run train will operate between Chennai Beach and Tambaram at night and early morning with the up service starting from Chennai Beach at 7.35 pm from April 19 and the down trip from Tambaram at 5.45 am from April 21. Unlike regular suburban trains, the new AC service will skip several stops between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu. However, when the trains run only between Tambaram and Chennai Beach, it will stop at all intermediate stations. Ticket fares are equal to Chennai Metro fares.

Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology function has announced a scheme to support the students of PG Arts and Science Courses and UG Professional courses to inculcate and promote research. The Council has done the selection process with a very systematic way through eminent professors, scientists, Directors as experts from Universities. Central Institutions such as IIT, CLRI, NIOT, identified 1014 potential projects and the same was approved by the Government. The selected project will get a maximum grant of Rs.10,000/- for its implementation.

दिल्ली के पर्यावरण और खाद्य आपूर्ति मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने कहा कि अगले पांच वर्षों में राजधानी में स्थित कूडें के पहाड का निपटारा कर दिया जाएगा। श्री सिरसा ने कहा कि वर्तमान में करीबन सवा लाख मीट्रिक टन कूडा उठाया जा रहा है, जिसमें वृद्धि की जरूरत है। इसके अतिरिक्त पर्यावरण मंत्री ने बताया कि दिल्ली नगर निगम के उपायुक्त को जमीनी स्तर पर काम करने के लिए एक टास्क फोर्स गठित के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।
दिल्ली पुलिस की अपराध शाखा ने मादक पदार्थ की तस्करी करने वाले एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय गिरोह का भंडाभोड किया है। यह गिरोह अफगानिस्तान, पाकिस्तान और भारत में सक्रिय है। संयुक्त पुलिस आयुक्त- अपराध शाखा सुरेन्द्र सिंह जाखड ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में बताया कि इस अभियान में कुल दस आरोपी गिरफ्तार किए गए हैं।

Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd. (BSWML) Chief Operations Officer Ramamani announced that a massive cleanliness drive will be held across all wards under the eight BBMP zones from April 21 to April 30, 2025.
The initiative comes in response to increasing instances of citizens dumping waste in public spaces such as roadsides, footpaths, and vacant lots — practices that not only mar the city’s aesthetics but also harm the environment. To address this, BSWML has already identified major waste dumping sites across the city and drawn up a plan to clean them simultaneously.
The 10-day drive will involve active participation from the public, non-governmental organizations, resident welfare associations, apartment owners’ associations, and volunteer groups. The goal is to clean roads, footpaths, medians, and public areas across Bengaluru.

The Karnataka High Court has directed the state government to take strict action against clinics run by unqualified individuals, stating that such establishments pose a serious threat to public health.
The observation came in response to a petition filed by the proprietor of a clinic in Mandya, who sought the court’s direction to facilitate the registration of his clinic under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act.
The court expressed concern over the growing number of quacks operating in remote areas, particularly in rural regions. It noted that such individuals are “endangering the lives of innocent rural people by opening clinics in far-flung areas and hoodwinking them.”
The court emphasized the need for the state government to identify and take firm action against such illegal medical practices.

In Telangana, three students, V. Ajay Reddy, Bani Brata Majee and Harssh A Gupta from the state scored 100 percentile in the results declared by National Testing Agency of JEE Mains session 2. A total of 24 candidates have scored 100 NTA score. Topper Bani Brata Majee had topped in the JEE Main January session as well. He has scored 100 percentile again. The candidates who rank within the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main 2025 will be eligible to take JEE advanced 2025 exam. The examination was conducted in computer based test(CBT) mode.

डॉ. कोमल कोठारी का जन्म 4 मार्च, 1929 को राजस्थान के जोधपुर जिले में हुआ, इन्होंने अपनी शिक्षा उदयपुर में पाई। इन्होंने राजस्थानी लोक कलाओं, लोक संगीत तथा लोक वाद्ययों के संरक्षण लोक कलाओं की खोज एवं उन्नयन, लोक गीतो व कथाओं का संकलन और शोध हेतु पूर्ण रूप से समर्पित होकर आजीवन कार्य किया।
श्री कोठारी ने सन् 1953 में देश के अग्रणी कहानीकारो में गिने जाने वाले श्री विजयदान देथा के साथ मिलकर “प्रेरणा” नामक पत्रिका शुरू की। पत्रिका का उद्देश्य हर महीने एक नया लोक गीत खोजकर उसे लिपिबद्ध करना था। उन्होने 40 वर्षों तक एक जुनून की तरह राजस्थान के लोक संगीत को संरक्षित करने का बीडा उठाया। उनके अथक प्रयासों से सन् 1964 में “रूपायन” नामक संस्था की स्थापना की गई। उनके अथक प्रयासों से लंगा मंगणियार संगीत को पहली बार अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मंच प्राप्त हुआ।
इन्हें ‘भारत सरकार’ द्वारा सन 2004 में कला के क्षेत्र में महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए ‘पद्म भूषण’ से सम्मानित किया गया था।
