मध्य प्रदेश में धार्मिक महत्व के 19 शहरों और कुछ ग्राम पंचायतों के अंतर्गत आने वाले क्षेत्रों में शराब पर प्रतिबंध आज से लागू हो गया है। इनमें उज्जैन, ओंकारेश्वर, महेश्वर, मंडलेश्वर, ओरछा, मैहर, चित्रकूट, दतिया, पन्ना, मंडला, मुलताई, मंदसौर और अमरकंटक शामिल हैं। इसके अलावा सलकनपुर, कुंडलपुर, बांदकपुर, बरमानकलां, बरमानखुर्द और लिंगा की ग्राम पंचायतों में भी शराबबंदी लागू रहेगी।
प्रदेश की भाजपा सरकार ने इन 19 शहरों और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों को पवित्र घोषित करते हुए इनमें शराबबंदी लागू की है। इस वर्ष 24 जनवरी को महेश्वर में हुई मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक में मुख्यमंत्री मोहन यादव द्वारा घोषित और स्वीकृत किए गए इस निर्णय को क्षेत्र के धार्मिक महत्व को देखते हुए लिया गया है। श्री यादव ने इस पहल को धार्मिक स्थलों की पवित्रता बनाए रखने और आध्यात्मिक महत्व वाले क्षेत्रों में शराब के सेवन को बंद करने की दिशा में एक सराहनीय कदम बताया।

Under Operation Brahma, 50 tonnes of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) material, carried by INS Satpura and INS Savitri, were handed over to Myanmar authorities in Yangon yesterday. The relief materials were presented by India’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Abhay Thakur. In a social media post, the Embassy of India in Yangon stated that with six Indian Air Force aircraft and five Indian Navy ships, India’s large-scale first-responder assistance has been delivered to Yangon, Naypyitaw, and Mandalay.
Meanwhile, the death toll in last week’s devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has crossed two thousand.

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Elementary Education has advanced the third-term annual exam schedule for classes 1 to 5 in government schools this year. According to the revised schedule, exams will be held from April 7 to 17. Students in classes 1 to 3 will take their final exam on April 11. The decision to reschedule was made following requests from parents and an order from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Approximately 20 lakh children are enrolled in classes 1 to 5 in government primary and middle schools.
The Indian Coast Guard seized an illegal consignment of sea cucumbers worth 80 lakh rupees off South Uchipuli on March 30.
Acting on intelligence about the likely transshipment of contraband near the South Uchipuli seashore, close to Rameshwaram, the Coast Guard unit at Mandapam swiftly launched an anti-smuggling operation. The intelligence team of ICGS Mandapam deployed the Air Cushion Vehicle H-197 for extensive surveillance. During the operation, officials discovered and recovered five drums containing approximately 200 kg of sea cucumbers.

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कल नवरात्रि के दूसरे दिन कल रोहिणी स्थित काली माता मंदिर का दौरा किया। पत्रकारों से बात करते हुये, श्रीमती गुप्ता ने कहा कि नवरात्रि पर विशेष रूप से सफाई अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि सभी अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिये गये है कि वे धार्मिक स्थलों के आस-पास सफाई व्यवस्था को दुरुस्त रखें।
दिल्ली के शिक्षा मंत्री आशीष सूद ने कल अपने विधानसभा क्षेत्र जनकपुरी में मुख्य सीवर लाइन बदलने के कार्य की शुरुआत। उन्होंने कहा कि इस सीवर लाइन के खराब होने के कारण यहां के आसपास के क्षेत्र में गंदे पानी का ओवरफ्लो हो रहा था। श्री सूद ने कहा कि इस सीवर लाइन का काम एक महीने के भीतर पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बरसात के मौसम को देखते हुए इस क्षेत्र के साथ-साथ जनकपुरी क्षेत्र की सभी सीवर लाइन की जांच भी की जा रही है। उन्होने जल बोर्ड के अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिये कि सभी सीवर लाइन को जल्द से जल्द बदलने या मरम्मत करें। इसके अलावा जहां-जहां नालियां और सीवर टूटे हुए हैं उनको भी तत्काल प्रभाव से मरम्मत करने के आदेश दिए। श्री सूद ने कहा कि दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता के नेतृत्व में दिल्ली को साफ सुथरा शहर बनाने के प्रयास जारी हैं और इसके सकारात्मक परिणाम भी देखने को मिलेंगे।

Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil has announced the establishment of an Organ Retrieval Centre at the government-run Victoria Hospital.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the minister said that the Department of Medical Education has sanctioned one crore rupees to set up the modern facility within the next four to six months. The initiative coincides with the 125th anniversary of Victoria Hospital.
The Centre aims to facilitate seamless organ donation and transplantation, benefiting patients in need. The minister stated that this will be the largest such facility in South India. To ensure quick transportation of organs, a helipad will also be built within the hospital premises.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced a 5 per cent rebate on property tax for the financial year 2025-26 under its Early Bird Scheme. In a statement, the GHMC said the scheme, introduced for the benefit of property taxpayers, allows citizens to avail themselves of the rebate if they pay their entire current year’s property tax by April 30, 2025.
The scheme does not apply to arrears from previous years. The GHMC has urged citizens to take advantage of this initiative, with tax collection under the scheme commencing today.
In Telangana, the design for the Mahbubnagar railway station has been finalized under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme. It is one of 30 railway stations being developed across the state and will undergo a complete transformation.
Notably, the modernization of Secunderabad Railway Station is already underway. The station will be upgraded to provide better amenities for passengers. As part of the redevelopment, the old Nizam-era building will be demolished, and a new structure will be built in its place.
Meanwhile, the doubling of railway tracks between Mahbubnagar and Secunderabad has already been completed.

आज जयंती है एक सौ 14 वर्षीय भारतीय मूल के धावक फ़ौजा सिंह की। (जन्म- 1 अप्रॅल, 1911, पंजाब, ब्रिटिश भारत) उन्होंने सबसे अधिक उम्र में टोरंटो मैराथन पूरा करके नया कीर्तिमान स्थापित करते हुए गिनीज बुक ऑफ़ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में अपना नाम दर्ज़ कराया है। फ़ौजा सिंह को सौ साल के बुजुर्ग के बजाय ‘जवान’ कहना ज़्यादा उचित होगा। इस धावक ने दिखा दिया है कि अगर इच्छाशक्ति हो तो उम्र इरादों को नहीं बांध सकती। 100 वर्षीय फ़ौजा सिंह ने 16 अक्टूबर, 2011 को हुई मैराथन दौड़ पूरी करने में आठ घंटे से ज़्यादा का समय लिया। फ़ौजा सिंह ने दौड़ को भले ही सबसे बाद में पार किया हो, लेकिन संकल्प के धनी इस बुजुर्ग की उपलब्धि को कम करके नहीं आंका जा सकता।
