Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore of NASA have returned on earth early this morning aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon Spacecraft. Their SpaceX capsule parachuted into the Gulf of Mexico. Splashdown occurred off the coast of Tallahassee in the Florida Panhandle, bringing to an end the nine month ordeal of the two astronauts.
With this the astronauts concluded their trip with SpaceX’s Crew-9, a routine International Space Station, ISS staff rotation mission, alongside NASA’s Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. Wilmore and Williams were on the International Space Station since June of last year, following the maiden crewed mission of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which encountered technical issues that rendered it unsuitable for their return journey.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to temporarily halt attacks on energy and infrastructure targets in Ukraine after a lengthy telephone call with US President Donald Trump yesterday. The White House and Kremlin both have confirmed this. The White House said, the highly anticipated phone call between the two Presidents began as the Trump administration looks to persuade the Russian leader to sign-off on a 30-day ceasefire proposal with Ukraine as a possible pathway to end the war. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and the situation in West Asia. However, the plan agreed by them is yet to be affirmed by the Ukraine.
On the other hand, the Kremlin said, the Russian president is resistant to a fuller ceasefire adding that a number of significant points were raised on the issue during the call.
In an interview to a news outlet, President Donald Trump said his call with Russian President a very good call and said the Kremlin’s agreement to pause attacks on Ukraine’s energy and infrastructure targets is a big thing.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed resuming combat in full force against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. His comments came after the launch of massive airstrikes that killed more than 400 Palestinians in Gaza. He called the airstrikes, just the beginning and said that fighting in the enclave had resumed with full force.
In a video statement on national television, he warned that negotiations will continue only under fire. Mr Netanyahu said, Israel would press ahead until it achieves all of its war aims, destroying Hamas and freeing all hostages held by the militant group. The White House said it had been consulted and voiced support for Israel’s actions.
Earlier yesterday, Mr Netanyahu said he ordered the strikes because of a lack of progress in talks to extend the truce. Officials said the operation was open-ended and was expected to expand.
The strikes came as Mr Netanayahu comes under mounting domestic pressure, with mass protests planned over his handling of the hostage crisis and his decision to fire the head of Israel’s internal security agency. His latest testimony in a long-running corruption trial was cancelled after the strikes.
In a video statement, he warned that “negotiations will continue only under fire” and that this is just the beginning.

Khelo India Para Games 2025 has launched its anthem, mascot and logo in the presence of Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi. The Para Games are going to be held from 20th of this month till 27th March in the National Capital.
Speaking at the occasion, The Minister said that Khelo India initiative has given a remarkable platform to athletes who can participate, thereby elevating the country’s reputation on the global stage. He also extended his wishes to the participants of the Para India Games. He added that Khelo India Para games will see over 1300 athletes competing.
Launched on the sidelines of the Fit India Carnival, the Khelo India Para Games mascot Ujjwala is inspired by the house sparrow of Delhi symbolising the pride and fighting spirit of the city.

A team of Officials from Bureau of Indian Standards, Chennai Branch Office, conducted an Enforcement Search and Seizure Raid operation yesterday at the premises of Aluminium alloy ingot manufacturer at SIPCOT Industrial park, Vallam Vadgal, Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram based on an information of suspected violation of BIS Act, 2016.
During the operation conducted by a team of BIS Officials, evidence of violation of Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023 was collected. It was found that the firm had violated Section 17 of BIS Act 2016 by not following the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

The National Institute of Mental Health, NIMHANS in Bengaluru has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Armed Forces Medical Services to foster collaborative research and training in the field of mental health and neurosciences. The MoU will pave the way for joint academic initiatives, faculty exchange programs and research projects to address critical healthcare challenges. The understanding will advance in patient care and scientific innovation. Both the institutions will work on state of the art approaches to mental healthcare, neurosciences, forensic psychiatry, community psychiatry and primary care psychiatry.

The Telangana State Legislative Assembly has passed the Scheduled Castes (Rationalisation of Reservation) Bill, 2025, paving the way for sub-categorisation in reservation for 59 communities among SCs. The bill tabled by Health minister D. Rajanarasimha and explained that, the Scheduled Castes will be divided into three categories. Group- I will get 1 per cent reservation within the 15% quota for SCs, while Group II will get 9 per cent reservation and Group III will get 5 per cent reservation.

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम ने कल एरोसिटी-तुगलकाबाद कॉरिडोर गोल्डन लाइन की इग्नू स्टेशन साइट पर टनल बोरिंग मशीन की सफलता के साथ चौथे चरण के सबसे गहरे भूमिगत खंड पर सुरंग बनाने का काम पूरा कर लिया है। इस उपलब्धि पर मेट्रो को बधाई देते हुए दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा की यह परियोजना एयरपोर्ट, अस्पतालों व शिक्षण संस्थानों को जोड़ेगी और ट्रैफिक व प्रदूषण कम करेगी। 23 किलोमीटर की है।

भारत-बांग्लादेश के बीच दोस्ती के रिश्ते की नई शुरुआत हुई
1971 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध के बाद एक नया देश बांग्लादेश अस्तित्व में आया। इसके अस्तित्व में आने के महज चार महीने के भीतर यानि आज ही के दिन 1972 में उसकी भारत से ऐतिहासिक संधि हुई। इस संधि में शांति, सहयोग, उपनिवेशवाद की निंदा और गुटनिरपेक्षता का जिक्र था। इसके साथ ही दोनों देशों ने एक दूसरे को कला, साहित्य और सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्रों में सहयोग करने का भी वादा किया। इस संधि के बाद दोनों देशों के बीच आपसी सहयोग का एक नया दौर शुरू हुआ।

पण्डित गुरुदत्त विद्यार्थी
आज आर्य समाज के प्रसिद्ध नेता पण्डित गुरुदत्त विद्यार्थी की पुण्यतिथि है। (अंग्रेज़ी: Pandit Gurudatta Vidyarthi; जन्म- 26 अप्रैल, 1864, मुल्तान, पाकिस्तान; मृत्यु- 19 मार्च, 1890) वे स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती के शिष्य थे। पण्डित गुरुदत्त विद्यार्थी की गिनती आर्य समाज के प्रमुख नेताओं में की जाती थी। दयानन्द सरस्वती के देहान्त के बाद गुरुदत्त विद्यार्थी ने उनकी स्मृति में ‘दयानन्द एंग्लो वैदिक कॉलेज’ की स्थापना का प्रस्ताव रखा था। गुरुदत्त विद्यार्थी, लाला लाजपत राय और लाला हंसराज के प्रयत्नों से ही 1 जून, 1886 को लाहौर, पाकिस्तान में डीएवी स्कूल की स्थापना हुई थी।

आज दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित हिंदी सिने जगत के गीतकार योगेश की जन्म जयंती है। उनके लिखे सीधे सरल और भावों से भरे गीत आज भी बरबस हमारे होठों पर आ जाते हैं और दिन भर हम उन्हीं की यादों में खोये रहते हैं। योगेश का जन्म 19 मार्च 1943 में उत्तर प्रदेश के राजधानी लखनऊ में हुआ था। वह जब बेरोजगार थे तब उन्होंने काम की तलाश में मुंबई आना ही उचित समझा। यहां उनके चचेरे भाई एक स्क्रीनप्ले निदेशक हुआ करते थे। उन्हीं के साथ योगेश ने भी काम करना शुरू कर दिया।
गीतकार योगेश ने अपने समय में सबसे बेहतरीन फिल्मकार रहे ऋषिकेश मुखर्जी, बासु चटर्जी आदि के साथ खूब काम किया है। हिंदी सिनेमा के पहले सुपरस्टार राजेश खन्ना की फिल्म ‘आनंद’ के लिए भी उन्होंने गीत लिखे हैं। उनके लिखे सबसे बेहतरीन गीतों में ‘कहीं दूर जब दिन ढल जाए’, ‘जिंदगी कैसी है पहेली’, ‘रिमझिम गिरे सावन’, ‘कई बार यूं ही देखा है’, ‘ना बोले तुम ना मैंने कुछ कहा’ आदि शामिल हैं।
योगेश ने कई बेहतरीन गीत लिखे जिन्हें सिनेमा के बेहतरीन गायकों ने अपनी आवाज दी। योगेश सिर्फ गीतों तक ही सीमित नहीं थे। उन्होंने फिल्मों के अलावा कई टीवी धारावाहिकों की कहानी भी लिखी।
