Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh has said that India will have its own space station by 2035, which will be known as Bharatiya Antriksh Station. He made the announcement at the signing ceremony of an MoU between Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Department of Biotechnology in New Delhi yesterday. The MoU aims to integrate biotechnology with space technology, heralding a new era of scientific innovation in the country. The MoU outlines several key initiatives, including the establishment of a ‘Bharatiya Antriksh Station’ and the unveiling of the ‘BioE3’ (biotechnology for economy, environment and employment) policy.

केन्द्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह आज पश्चिम बंगाल के पेट्रापोल में भारत-बांग्लादेश सीमा पर यात्री टर्मिनल भवन और ‘मैत्री द्वार’ कार्गो गेट का उद्घाटन करेंगे। टर्मिनल का उद्देश्य अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय व्यापार तथा भारत और बांग्लादेश के नागरिकों की आवाजाही को सुविधाजनक बनाना है। उत्तर 24 परगना जिले में स्थित यह बन्दरगाह दक्षिण एशिया का सबसे बडा भूमि बन्दरगाह है जो दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार और वाणिज्य के लिए महत्वपूर्ण प्रवेश द्वार है। पेट्रापोल-बेनापोल क्रासिंग महत्वपूर्ण सीमा क्षेत्रों में से एक है जहां से दोनों देशों के बीच लगभग 70 प्रतिशत व्यापार होता है। यह भारत का आठवां सबसे बडा अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय आव्रजन बन्दरगाह भी है जो सालाना तेइस लाख से अधिक यात्रियों को आवाजाही की सुविधा प्रदान करता है। नए यात्री टर्मिनल के चालू हो जाने से बुनियादी ढांचे में बढोतरी होगी और आव्रजन, सीमा शुल्क तथा सुरक्षा सेवाएं एक ही छत के नीचे उपलब्ध होंगी। इसके अलावा इस टर्मिनल से प्रतिदिन 20 हजार यात्रियों की आवाजाही होगी।’मैत्री द्वार’ कार्गो गेट एक संयुक्त सुविधा है जिस पर दोनों देशों ने सहमति जताई है। श्री शाह ने पिछले वर्ष नौ मई को इस परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी थी। भारतीय भूमि बंदरगाह प्राधिकरण ने इस सीमा क्षेत्र से प्रतिदिन लगभग छह-सात सौ ट्रकों के आवागमन को देखते हुए नया कार्गो गेट का निर्माण किया है। श्री शाह बाद में हुगली जिले के आरामबाग में सहकारिता विभाग द्वारा आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लेंगे। वे शाम में कोलकाता के साल्ट लेक में पार्टी द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम में भी शामिल होंगे।

Over 20 lakh 74 thousand new workers have been enrolled under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in August this year. The year-on-year analysis shows a growth of 6.80 percent in net registrations compared to August last year. Out of 20.74 lakh, 9.89 lakh employees, which is around 47.68 percent, belong to the age group of upto 25 years. Gender-wise analysis of the payroll data indicates that net enrolment of female members has been 4.14 lakh in August.

The aerospace and defence player Ananth Technologies Private limited company which is a part of India’s mission to have its own space station, has integrated two 400 kg satellites for ISRO. According to the company, it is the first time that ISRO has awarded such a project to a private industry partner. Dr.Subba Rao Pavuluri Chairman of the company said that the twin satellites called Spadex will achieve the objective of docking in space which is a prior activity for planning moon landing by astronauts and to plan for an Indian Space Station. He told that the company had been manufacturing electronic subsystems for ISRO since 2000 and have been an integral part of every Indian space program over the last two decades. The assembly integration and testing of the two satellites were conducted at the Company’s 10 thousand sq. metre facility in Bengaluru. The satellite will be orbited by ISRO’s PSLV later this year or early next year.

he Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Development, Shri Manohar Lal reviewed the progress of power projects at Chennai, yesterday. State Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise V. Senthil Balaji and officials of the department were also present in the meeting. The Ministers discussed the progress in the four ongoing thermal power projects in Tamil Nadu. The ongoing works under the Improved Power Distribution Scheme to reduce losses at a cost of nearly 9 thousand crore rupees was also discussed. Addressing the Media after the review meeting, Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that there is no shortage of power in Tamil Nadu and the state is implementing power projects effectively.

he Tambaram Corporation imposed a penalty of One lakh rupees on a builder for failing to address mosquito breeding at an apartment construction site despite repeated warnings. Two workers at the Construction site and three residents of a nearby apartment complex have tested positive for dengue in the past few days. The officials who inspected the construction site identified 16 breeding locations. Workers abandoned items like large tyres, boxes, broken chairs and plastic bottles.

Telangana State Cabinet has approved the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project, a significant expansion aimed at improving connectivity across the city. The project, estimated to cost 24 thousand 200 crore rupees, will span 76.4 kilometres and cover the five major corridors. The Cabinet meeting, headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held in Hyderabad last evening, approved the detailed project report (DPR) for Phase-2, with plans to execute the project through a public-private partnership (PPP) model in collaboration with the Centre. The DPR will be referred to the Centre for final approval.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate an additional 2,000 buses from Bengaluru to various parts of Karnataka and cities in neighboring states from October 30 to November 1 to accommodate the Deepavali holiday rush. With Naraka Chaturdashi on October 31, Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, and Balipadyami on November 2, KSRTC aims to support travelers making use of the extended holiday period. Special buses will also run from various intra- and inter-state destinations back to Bengaluru on November 3 and 4.
All premier special buses will depart from BMTC Bus Station at Shanthinagar (TTMC) and will travel to destinations such as Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Calicut, and other locations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

A recent study has identified trucks and commercial vehicles as the largest contributors to air pollution in Bengaluru, responsible for 39% of lethel particulate matter (PM) 2.5 emissions in the Bengaluru Urban district and 48% in the BBMP area. Following these, industries remain a significant source, with many still using wood and coal as fuel despite cleaner alternatives according to the study, led by Prof. Gufran Beig of the School of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the National Institute of Advanced Studies. Prof. Beig emphasized the need for strict enforcement of emission norms for commercial vehicles and suggested additional mitigation measures such as streamlining traffic by segregating vehicle types, improving last-mile connectivity with seamless ticketing options, reducing metro fares.

दिवाली और छठ पूजा के दौरान यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए उत्तर रेलवे सात नवम्बर तक विशेष रेलगाडियों के 195 अतिरिक्त फेरे लगाएगा। यह रेलगाडियां नई दिल्ली और आनंद विहार रेलवे स्टेशन से उपलब्ध होंगी। इन रेलगाडियों में विशेष तौर पर पटना, कटिहार, दरभंगा सहित पूर्व दिशा की ओर जाने वाली रेलगाडियां शामिल हैं। पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में इस वर्ष एक लाख सत्तर हजार से अधिक अतिरिक्त सीटें उपलब्ध होंगी। उन्होंने आगे बताया कि इन विशेष रेलगाडियों में अनारक्षित श्रेणी के लगभग 54 हजार यात्रियों के लिए भी सीटें बढ़ाई गई हैं।
यात्रियों की भीडभाड को व्यवस्थित करने के लिए नई दिल्ली और आनंद विहार रेलवे स्टेशन पर विशेष पंडाल लगाए जा रहे हैं। जहां यात्री टिकट खरीदने के साथ ही आराम कर सकेंगे। उन्होंने बताया कि नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन से पूर्व दिशा की ओर जाने वाली सभी विशेष रेलगाडियां प्लेटफार्म नंबर 16 से परिचालित की जाएगी।

दिल्ली में बढ़ते प्रदूषण के मुद्दे पर एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक आयोजित की गई, जिसमें केन्द्रीय कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान, केंद्रीय वन, पर्यावरण और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री भूपेंद्र यादव, केंद्रीय कृषि राज्य मंत्री भागीरथ चौधरी तथा उत्तर प्रदेश, पंजाब, हरियाणा और दिल्ली के कृषि मंत्रियों सहित प्रमुख अधिकारी वर्चुअली शामिल हुए।
इस बैठक के बाद श्री चौहान ने बताया कि पिछले साल के मुकाबले पंजाब में पराली जलाने की घटनाओं में 35 प्रतिशत और हरियाणा में 21 प्रतिशत की कमी आई है। उन्होंने कहा कि 2017 के मुकाबले पराली जलाने की घटनाएं 51 प्रतिशत से अधिक घट गई हैं, लेकिन अभी भी स्थिति पर निगरानी जरूरी है। श्री चौहान ने बताया कि केन्द्र सरकार से तीन लाख से ज्यादा मशीनें दी हुई हैं, जो पराली प्रबंधन का काम करती हैं।

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है राजेन्द्र सिंह (ब्रिगेडियर) की। वे भारतीय सेना में एक अधिकारी थे। वह स्वतंत्र भारत में ‘महावीर चक्र’ पाने वाले वीर जांबाजों में से एक थे। उन्हें तत्कालीन सेना प्रमुख फील्ड मार्शल के. एम. करिअप्पा द्वारा मरणोपरांत महावीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया था। देश की आजादी के बाद पाकिस्तान सेना ने कबायलियों के साथ मिलकर ‘आपरेशन गुलमर्ग’ के तहत कश्मीर पर कब्जा करने की तैयारी कर ली थी। पांच हजार सैनिकों के इस मंसूबे को ब्रिगेडियर राजेन्द्र सिंह ने अपने सत्तर साथियों के साथ अंतिम सांस तक लड़कर नाकाम कर दिया। इस असाधारण वीरता की गवाही देने के लिए 27 अक्टूबर, 1947 को देश से जम्मू-कश्मीर की विलय के दिन महाराजा की फौज के इन सिपाहियों में से 30 सैनिक ही जिंदा बचे थे।

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है एस. एम. श्रीनागेश की। वे भारतीय थल सेना के तीसरे सेनाध्यक्ष थे। इस पद पर वह 14 मई, 1955 से 7 मई, 1957 तक रहे। इसके बाद वह 1957 से 1962 तक भारतीय प्रशासनिक कॉलेज, हैदराबाद के प्रधान के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था। जनरल एस. एम. श्रीनागेश ने बर्मा में 19वीं भारतीय डिवीजन की 64वीं भारतीय इन्फैंट्री ब्रिगेड की कमान भी संभाली। 1945 में उन्हें जर्मनी में भारतीय सैन्य मिशन के उप प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया।

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है डॉ. नगेन्द्र की। वे देश के जाने-माने हिंदी साहित्यकार थे। आधुनिक हिन्दी की आलोचना को समृद्ध करने में डॉ. नगेन्द्र का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा था। वे काव्य शास्त्र के प्रकाण्ड विद्वान् माने जाते थे। उनके निबन्धों में वैचारिक औदात्य के साथ-साथ उनका व्यक्तित्व भी अभिव्यक्ति पा गया है। उनके निबन्धों में एक सहृदय तथा भावुक निबन्धकार के गुण भली-भाँति लक्षित होते हैं। इसका कारण यह है कि नगेन्द्र जी का हिन्दी साहित्य के क्षेत्र में प्रवेश एक कवि के रूप में हुआ था। उन्हें साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार (‘रस-सिद्धांत’ के लिए 1965 में) दिया गया था। उनकी मुख्य रचनाएँ ‘विचार और विवेचन’ (1944), ‘विचार और अनुभूति’ (1949), ‘विचार और विश्लेषण’ (1955), ‘अरस्तू का काव्यशास्त्र’ (1957), ‘अनुसंधान और आलोचना’ (1961), ‘रस-सिद्धांत (1964), ‘आलोचक की आस्था’ (1966), ‘समस्या और समाधान’ (1971), भारतीय साहित्य, भारतीय महाकाव्य हैं।

आज ही पुण्यतिथि है प्रदीप कुमार की। वे हिन्दी और बंगाली फ़िल्मों के प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता थे। हिन्दी सिनेमा में उनको ऐसे अभिनेता के तौर पर याद किया जाता है, जिन्होंने 1950 और 60 के दशक में अपने ऐतिहासिक किरदारों के ज़रिये दर्शकों का भरपूर मनोरंजन किया।
उस जमाने में फ़िल्मकारों को अपनी फ़िल्मों के लिए जब भी किसी राजा, महाराजा, राजकुमार अथवा नवाब की भूमिका की ज़रूरत होती थी तो वह प्रदीप कुमार को याद किया जाता था। उनके उत्कृष्ट अभिनय से सजी ‘अनारकली’, ‘ताजमहल’, ‘बहू बेगम’ और ‘चित्रलेखा’ जैसी फ़िल्मों को दर्शक आज भी नहीं भूले हैं। प्रदीप कुमार के सिने कॅरियर में उनकी जोड़ी मीना कुमारी के साथ खूब जमी। उनकी और मीना कुमारी की जोड़ी वाली फ़िल्मों में ‘अदले जहांगीर’, ‘बंधन’, ‘चित्रलेखा’, ‘बहू बेगम’, ‘भींगी रात’, ‘आरती’ और ‘नूरजहां’ शामिल हैं। वर्ष 1952 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म आंनद मठ में प्रदीप कुमार पहली बार मुख्य अभिनेता की भूमिका में दिखाई दिए। हालांकि इस फ़िल्म में पृथ्वीराज कपूर जैसे महान् अभिनेता भी थे फिर भी प्रदीप कुमार पृथ्वीराज की उपस्थिति में भी दर्शकों के बीच अपने अभिनय की छाप छोड़ने में कामयाब रहे।

आज ही है जयंती दत्ताजी राव गायकवाड़ की। वे जाने -माने क्रिकेटर थे। उन्होंने सन 1952 से 1961 के बीच देश के लिये कुल 11 टेस्ट मैच खेले। बड़ौदा के लिये खेलने वाले उनके पुत्र अंशुमन गायकवाड़ ने भी भारत के लिये 40 टेस्ट मैच खेले। दत्ताजी राव गायकवाड़ की नज़र प्रतिभाओं पर रहती थी और उन्होंने ऐसे कई क्रिकेटरों की खोज की, जो बड़ौदा के लिए खेले। उन्होंने अंतिम टेस्ट सन 1961 में पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ खेला। रणजी में बड़ौदा के लिये 47.56 की औसत से 3139 रन बनाये, जिसमें 14 शतक शामिल हैं। लगभग नौ साल के करियर में 11 टेस्ट मैचों में देश का प्रतिनिधित्व किया है।
