लोकसभा चुनाव के पहले चरण के लिए नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने का आज आखिरी दिन है, जबकि बिहार में नामांकन पत्र कल तक दाखिल किए जा सकेंगे। पहले चरण में 17 राज्यों और चार केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की 102 लोकसभा सीटों पर चुनाव होंगे। तमिलनाडु की 39, राजस्थान की 12, उत्तर प्रदेश की आठ, मध्य प्रदेश की छह, उत्तराखंड, असम और महाराष्ट्र की पांच-पांच, बिहार की चार, पश्चिम बंगाल की तीन, अरुणाचल प्रदेश, मणिपुर और मेघालय की दो-दो सीटों तथा छत्तीसगढ़, मिजोरम, नागालैंड, सिक्किम, त्रिपुरा, अंडमान निकोबार द्वीप समूह, जम्मू-कश्मीर, लक्षद्वीप तथा पुदुचेरी की एक-एक सीट पर मतदान होगा। नामांकन पत्रों की जांच 28 मार्च को होगी और 30 मार्च तक नाम वापस लिये जा सकते हैं। बिहार में नामांकन पत्रों की जांच 30 मार्च को की जाएगी और दो अप्रैल तक नाम वापस लिये जा सकेंगे। पहले चरण का मतदान 19 अप्रैल को होगा। दूसरे चरण के लिए विभिन्न राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की 89 लोकसभा सीटों के लिए अधिसूचना कल जारी की जायेगी।

The Election Commission has issued advisory to Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all the States and Union Territories in view of heat wave. The advisory followed forecast of above normal temperatures by India Meteorological Department during forthcoming summer season, which may translate into stronger and longer spells of heatwave especially during March to June this year. The Commission has shared a copy of Do’s and Do not’s issued by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) regarding minimization of heat wave impact. The NDMA has advised people to avoid going out in the sun, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm to minimise the impact during the heatwave. It has also advised to drink sufficient water and avoid stale food. The commission has asked CEOs to ensure minimum basic facilities including drinking water and shade at the polling stations.

Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has expressed his gratitude to India for its swift and decisive action in rescuing Filipino crew members of a merchant ship attacked by Houthi rebels in the Gulf of Aden this month. The Indian Navy’s medical team had rescued all the crew members of MV Confidence and provided them critical care after the merchant ship was hit by Houthi missile in Gulf of Aden on March 6. Three crew members, including two Filipinos, were killed.
All the Filipino crew members who survived the attack have been repatriated.
Extending his gratitude to External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, who is visiting the Philippines, Mr Marcos, said that he express his profound gratitude to the Indian government for their swift and decisive action in rescuing Filipino seafarers. Mr Marcos said in a Facebook Post that he look forward to further strengthening their bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both the nations.

In the United States, Maryland state police has said that the six people who were missing after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed yesterday in Baltimore, Maryland have been presumed dead. The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore was rammed by a cargo ship and collapsed into the Patapsco River. Authorities said they are presumed dead due to the water temperature and time that has passed.
The Singapore-flagged Dali cargo ship was setting off from the Port of Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka, when it apparently lost power and struck a pillar of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. All 22 crew on the ship were Indian. India is a major player in the global seafaring industry.
Emergency responders rescued two people from the water.
Maryland Governor Wes Moore hailed the crew as “heroes” and said that their quick response “saved lives” because authorities were able to stop the flow of vehicle traffic onto the bridge in the two minutes between the call and the collision.
US President Joe Biden has said he will seek funds from Congress to rebuild the bridge.
The federal transportation safety agency has said it will launch an investigation into the safety record of the cargo ship as well as the construction and design of the bridge.

The Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Narayan Singh held a bilateral conference with their counterparts of Armenia on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) event in Switzerland. The Armenian delegation was represented by Vice President of the national assembly, Hakob Arshakyan.
While discussing about the bilateral relations between the two countries, Mr. Harivansh said that there is an immense potential to explore various areas of engagement in parliamentary affairs. Referring to the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, Harivansh said that India and Armenia have common ideas of governance which gives an opportunity to collaborate and share experience of the two countries. The Deputy Chairman also met the Inter-Parliamentary Union President, Tulia Ackson. He congratulated her on assuming the charge of IPU President.

French aerospace and defence firm Starburst Accelerator SARL is partnering with IIT Madras to set up an innovative hub for start ups with a funding of 100 million Euros. Through this collaboration, IIT Madras will enable the company to set up an accelerator program to boost the aviation, space and defence eco system in India. Starburst Accelerator is looking to create venture capital funds for ASD technology . The partnership will enable export promotion and provide support for Indian ASD startups to explore international markets through the extensive network of the French firm. The aim is to create innovative startups and help them grow rapidly to work in tandem with future aerospace and new space worldwide programs.

In Karnataka, an amount of over Rs 56 lakh in cash, sarees worth Rs 15.36 lakh, 11,781 litres of liquor worth Rs 38 lakh were among materials worth Rs 1.3 crore seized by the election officials in the last 24 hours . The total value of the cash and materials seized for the violation of the model code of conduct has reached Rs 48.56 crore, which includes 118.4 kg drugs worth Rs 83 lakh and around eight lakh litres of liquor worth around 24 crore rupees. As many as 760 FIRs have been booked. Public have filed 4,924 complaints through Election Commission’s cVigil app. While many of them were related to illegal posters and banners, 53 complaints included illegal distribution of money, 14 others for distributing gifts and coupons and 12 for religious and communal speeches.

Elaborate security arrangements are being taken-up by the police for the smooth organization of IPL T20 matches to be held today and for April 5th matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium in Uppal in Hyderabad. Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Tarun Joshi said around 2800 policemen drawn from various wings of State police including TSSP, Octopus, mounted police would be deployed as part of the security arrangements. The security will be augmented with 360 surveillance cameras and anti-sabotage checks. A joint command and control room has been set up to monitor CCTV footage for taking immediate action. Anti-sabotage checks will be conducted uninterrupted till the completion of each match,” said Tarun Joshi.

आबकारी नीति घोटाले में दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की गिरफ्तारी के बाद उनके इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर कल दिल्ली प्रदेश भाजपा ने आज प्रदर्शन किया। दिल्ली प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष वीरेंद्र सचदेवा के नेतृत्व में पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं ने आईटीओ से दिल्ली सचिवालय तक मार्च निकाला।इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए पार्टी के दिल्ली इकाई के अध्यक्ष वीरेन्द्र सचदेवा ने कहा कि श्री केजरीवाल में यदि नैतिकता है तो उन्हें इस्तीफा देना चाहिए। उन्हेांने मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा जेल से जारी किए जा रहे कथित आदेशों पर भी तीखी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त की। श्री सचदेवा ने कहा कि यह अनैतिक है। इस प्रदर्शन में रामवीर सिंह विधूड़ी, मनोज तिवारी, विजेन्द्र गुप्ता, बांसुरी स्वराज के अलावा कई वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता मौजूद थे। इस बीच, आम आदमी पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं ने भी दिल्ली में श्री केजरीवाल की गिरफ्तारी के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। पार्टी नेताओं ने तख्तियां लेकर प्रदर्शन किया और केंद्र सरकार के खिलाफ नारे लगाए। पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता और दिल्ली के मंत्री गोपाल राय ने कहा कि उनकी पार्टी गिरफ्तारी के विरोध में लगाातर आवाज उठाती रहेगी। इस प्रदर्शन में आम आदमी पार्टी के सोमनाथ भारती, सौरभ भारद्वाज, आतिशी सहित कई वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने भाग लिया।
दिल्ली विधानसभा का एक दिन का विशेष सत्र आज आयोजित किया जाएगा। विधानसभा का यह सत्र ऐसे समय में आयोजित किया जा रहा है, जबकि मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल को आबकारी मामले में गिरफ्तार किया गया है। सत्र के हंगामेदार रहने के आसार है।
उत्तर रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक शोभन चौधुरी ने कल अपने जोन के विभागाध्यक्षों और मण्डल रेल प्रबंधकों के साथ कार्य प्रगति की समीक्षा की। नई दिल्ली में आयोजित बैठक में श्री चौधुरी ने कहा कि संरक्षा सर्वोपरि है और इसके लिए रेलपथों, चल स्टॉक, सिगनल एवं बिजली की ओवर हैड तारों के रख-रखाव पर अधिक ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने विभागों से रेल कर्मचारियों के लिए नियमित रूप से प्रशिक्षण आयोजित करने को कहा ताकि रेल प्रणाली में मानवीय त्रुटियों को कम किया जा सके। उन्होंने सभी विभागाध्यक्षों और मण्डल रेल प्रबंधकों को निर्देश दिया कि आगामी ग्रीष्मकाल के मद्देनजर सिगनल प्रणाली को सुचारू रूप से चलाने के लिए सभी आवश्यक कदम उठाए जायें। महाप्रबंधक ने रेल पटरियों में आने वाली दरारों पर विशेष ध्यान देने के अलावा सिगनलों और रेल वेल्डों की व्यापक रूप से सतत निगरानी के भी निर्देश दिये। उन्होंने रेलपथों पर विद्युत संरक्षा के साथ-साथ रेलगाड़ियों के निर्बाध परिचालन के लिए रिले और पैनल रूमों की संरक्षा पर भी ध्यान केन्द्रित करने को कहा।
दिल्ली पुलिस ने राजधानी के शाहदरा इलाके में फर्जी सिक्के बनाने वाले एक अंतर्राज्य गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ किया है। कल दिल्ली पुलिस की अपराध शाखा ने इस मामले में दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस ने इस दौरान लगभग दो लाख मूल्य के फर्जी सिक्के भी बरामद किए हैं। इन गिरफ्तार आरोपियों द्वारा मंडोली इलाके में फर्जी सिक्के बनाने वाले एक फैक्ट्री चलाई जा रही थी। इस फैक्ट्री में 20 रूपये के नकली सिक्के बनाए जाते थे।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम प्रशासन ने जानकारी दी है कि हालांकि जून और सितंबर 2023 के बीच कम वर्षा के कारण, मुंबई को पानी की आपूर्ति करने वाले बांधों में जल भंडारण पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में अपेक्षाकृत कम है, लेकिन मुंबईकरों की जल आपूर्ति पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ेगा। नगर निकाय ने मंगलवार को एक अधिसूचना में बताया कि नगर निगम प्रशासन बांध में उपलब्ध जल भंडारण पर कड़ी नजर रख रहा है। राज्य सरकार पहले ही निभवानी जलाशय से नगर निगम को पानी की आपूर्ति करने पर सहमत हो चुकी है। बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम के पास फिलहाल पानी की आपूर्ति कम करने का कोई प्रस्ताव नहीं है।

रामकृष्ण मठ और रामकृष्ण मिशन के अध्यक्ष श्रीमत स्वामी स्मरणानंदजी महाराज का कल कोलकाता के रामकृष्ण मिशन सेवा प्रतिष्ठान अस्पताल में निधन हो गया। वह उम्र संबंधी बीमारियों से पीड़ित थे और हाल ही में उन्हें वेंटिलेशन पर रखा गया था। आज सुबह से शाम 8 बजे तक उनके पार्थिव शरीर को आम लोगों के अंतिम दर्शन के लिए बेलूर मठ में रखा जाएगा। उसके बाद बेलूर मठ में अंतिम संस्कार किया जाएगा। स्वामी स्मरणानंदजी महाराज रामकृष्ण मठ और रामकृष्ण मिशन के 16वें अध्यक्ष थे और उन्होंने 17 जुलाई 2017 को कार्यभार संभाला था। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने श्रीमत स्वामी स्मरणानंदजी महाराज के निधन पर दुख और शोक व्यक्त किया है।

तो पुण्यतिथियों में आज सबसे पहले बात मुस्लिम शिक्षक, विधिवेत्ता और लेखक, ऐंग्लो-मोहमडन ओरिएंटल कॉलेज अलीगढ़, उत्तर प्रदेश के संस्थापक सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ की जिनका जन्म: तो हुआ था 17 अक्टूबर, 1817; को लेकिन उन्होंने इस दुनिया से रुखसत ली 27 मार्च, 1898) को। सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ ऐसे महान् मुस्लिम समाज सुधारक और भविष्यद्रष्टाथे, जिन्होंने शिक्षा के लिए जीवन भर प्रयास किया। सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ ने लोगों को पारंपरिक शिक्षा के स्थान पर आधुनिक ज्ञान हासिल करने के लिए प्रेरित किया, क्योंकि वह जानते थे कि आधुनिक शिक्षा के बिना प्रगति संभव नहीं है। सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ मुसलमानों और हिन्दुओं के विरोधात्मक स्वर को चुप-चाप सहन करते रहे। इसी सहनशीलता का परिणाम है कि आज सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ को एक युग पुरुष के रूप में याद किया जाता है और हिन्दू तथा मुसलमान दोनों ही समुदाय उनका आदर करते हैं। सर सैयद अहमद ख़ाँ ने सदा ही यह बात अपने भाषणों में कही थी कि, ‘हिन्दू और मुसलमान भारत की दो आँखें हैं’।

अब जानकारी पंडित कांशीराम के बारे में जो ना सिर्फ ग़दर पार्टी के प्रमुख नेता थे बल्कि उनहोंने देश की स्वाधीनता के लिए अपने प्राण न्यौछावर कर दिये थे। वैसे पंडित कांशीराम का जन्म 1883 ई. में पंजाब के अंबाला ज़िले में हुआ था। मैट्रिक पास करने के बाद उन्होंने तार भेजने प्राप्त करने का काम सीखा और कुछ दिन अंबाला और दिल्ली में नौकरी की। इसके बाद वे अमेरिका चले गए। यहीं से उनका क्रांतिकारी जीवन आरंभ होता है। आजीविका के लिए पंडित कांशीराम ने ठेकेदारी का काम किया। साथ ही वे ‘इंडियन एसोसिएशन ऑफ अमेरिका’ और ‘इंडियन इंडिपैंडेंट लीग’ में शामिल हो गए। उनके ऊपर लाला हरदयाल का बहुत प्रभाव पड़ा। वे संगठन भारत को अंग्रेजों की चुंगल से छुड़ाने के लिए बनाए गए थे। 1913 में पंडित कांशीराम ‘ग़दर पार्टी’ के कोषाध्यक्ष बन गए। जिस समय यूरोप में प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध के बादल मंडरा रहे थे, ग़दर पार्टी ने निश्चय किया कि कुछ लोगों को अमेरिका से भारत वापस जाना चाहिए ताकि वे वहां जाकर भारतीय सेना में अंग्रेजों के विरुद्ध भावनाएँ भड़काएँ। इसी योजना के अंतर्गत पंडित कांशीराम भी भारत आए। उन्होंने सेना की कई छावनियों की यात्रा की और सैनिकों को अंग्रेजों की सत्ता उखाड़ फेंकने के लिए प्रेरित किया। कांशीराम और उनके साथियों ने अपने कार्य के लिए धन जुटाने के उद्देश्य से मोगा का सरकारी कोषागार लूटने का असफल प्रयत्न भी किया। इसी सिलसिले में एक सब इंस्पेक्टर और एक जिलेदार इनकी गोलियों से मारे गए। कांशीराम और उनके साथी पकड़े गए, मुकदमा चला और 27 मार्च, 1915 को कांशीराम को फाँसी दे दी गई।

प्रिया राजवंश ने सिर्फ चेतन आनन्द की बनाई फ़िल्मों में ही अभिनय किया था। प्रिया राजवंश जब नाटकों में काम करती थीं,तभी एक फोटोग्राफर ने उनकी फोटोज खींची। चेतन आनंद ने अपने एक दोस्त के घर यह तस्वीर देखी तो वह प्रिया राजवंश की खूबसूरती के क़ायल हो गए। उन दिनों चेतन आनंद को अपनी नई फ़िल्म के लिए नए चेहरे की तलाश थी। 20 अक्टूबर,1962 को चीन ने देश पर हमला कर दिया था। हिंदुस्तानी फौज को भारी नुक़सान हुआ था और फौज को पीछे हटना पड़ा। इस थीम पर चेतन आनंद हक़ीक़त नाम से फ़िल्म बनाना चाहते थे। उन्होंने प्रिया राजवंश से संपर्क किया और उन्हें फ़िल्म की नायिका के लिए चुन लिया गया। फिलहाल सुनते हैं फिल्म हिन्दुस्तान की कसम से प्रिया राजवंश पर फिल्माया गया ये गीत
