Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts with the people of the country and abroad in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on Akashvani at 11 AM today. It will be the 113th episode of the monthly radio programme.

The programme will be broadcast on the entire network of Akashvani and Doordarshan, AIR News website and newsonair mobile app. It will also be live streamed on the YouTube channels of the AIR News, DD News, PMO and Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

Akashwani will broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज महाराष्ट्र में जलगांव और राजस्थान में जोधपुर का दौरा करेंगे। वे जलगांव में लखपति दीदी सम्मेलन में भाग लेंगे। श्री मोदी वहां 11 लाख लखपति दीदियों को प्रमाण-पत्र देकर सम्मानित करेंगे। वे देशभर की लखपति दीदियों से भी बातचीत करेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री ढाई हजार करोड़ रुपये के कोष की शुरूआत भी करेंगे जिससे स्व-सहायता समूहों के करीब 48 लाख सदस्यों को फायदा होगा। श्री मोदी पांच हजार करोड़ रुपये का बैंक ऋण भी वितरित करेंगे, जिससे स्व-सहायता समूहों के लगभग 26 लाख सदस्यों को लाभ होगा। लखपति दीदी योजना की शुरुआत के बाद से अब तक एक करोड़ महिलाओं को लखपति दीदी बनाया जा चुका है। सरकार ने तीन करोड़ लखपति दीदी बनाने का लक्ष्य रखा है।

प्रधानमंत्री दोपहर बाद राजस्थान के जोधपुर पहुंचेंगे। वे राजस्थान उच्च न्यायालय के हीरक जयंती समापन समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि होंगे। श्री मोदी राजस्थान उच्च न्यायालय संग्रहालय का उद्घाटन भी करेंगे।

The Union Cabinet has approved the Unified Pension Scheme for government employees, which provides for an assured pension. Addressing the media after the Cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the first pillar of the scheme ensures 50 percent of the average basic pay drawn over the last twelve months prior to superannuation for a minimum qualifying service of 25 years. The second pillar guarantees that 60 percent of the pension is assured for the family after the employee’s demise. There will be assured minimum pension at least 10 thousand rupees per month on superannuation after minimum 10 years of service. There is Inflation indexation on assured pension, on assured family pension and assured minimum pension. There will be Dearness Relief based on All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers as in case of service employees. There will be lump sum payment at superannuation in addition to gratuity. Mr. Vaishnaw noted that about 23 lakh central government employees would benefit from this scheme. It will be effective from 1st April 2025.

Mr. Vaishnaw said that the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also approved the Bio E3-Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, and Employment policy to foster high-performance biomanufacturing. Mr Vaishnaw said that the policy will provide innovation-driven support to research and development and entrepreneurship across thematic sectors.

जम्‍मू-कश्‍मीर में आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए इलेक्‍ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग मशीन-ईवीएम और मतदान सत्यापन पर्ची मशीन- वीवीपैट की जांच का पहला चरण कल जम्‍मू जिले में सफलतापूर्वक पूरा हुआ। यह प्रक्रिया निर्वाचन अधिकारियों और राजनीतिक दलों के प्रतिनिधियों की मौजूदगी में की गई। इस प्रक्रिया से तैयार सूची राजनीतिक दलों के प्रतिनिधियों को सौंपी गई और पूरी प्रक्रिया की वीडियोग्राफी की गई।

Two NASA astronauts, Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, will return to Earth in February 2025 with SpaceX. They were originally on an eight-day mission but will now spend around eight months in orbit due to issues with their Boeing Starliner spacecraft. NASA announced that the Starliner will return to Earth without crew. The spacecraft faced problems, including helium leaks and malfunctioning thrusters, during its journey to the International Space Station. Boeing and SpaceX were awarded billion-dollar contracts by NASA for commercial space flights. Engineers from Boeing and NASA have been working to resolve the technical issues with Starliner and are conducting tests to ensure the astronauts’ safe return.

ब्राजील के विदेश मंत्री मौरो विएरा आज चार दिन की भारत यात्रा पर नई दिल्‍ली पहुंच रहे हैं। विदेश मंत्री सुब्रह्मण्‍यम जयशंकर और श्री विएरा मंगलवार को नौवीं भारत-ब्राजील संयुक्‍त आयोग की बैठक की सह-अध्‍यक्षता करेंगे। विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि दोनों मंत्री इस वर्ष ब्राजील में प्रस्तावित जी-20 बैठक में, भारत की अध्‍यक्षता में पिछले वर्ष हुई बैठक के परिणामों को आगे बढाने पर विचार-विमर्श करेंगे। विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि ब्राजील के विदेश मंत्री की इस यात्रा से दोनों देशों के संबंधों को प्रगाढ करने और सहयोग की नई संभावनाएं तलाशने का अवसर मिलेगा।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia payment for the victims of the bus accident in Tanahun district of Nepal. An ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund will be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given 50 thousand rupees. Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said, 27 Indians have lost their lives in the accident.

BENGALURU METRO

The South Western Railways with Hubballi as its headquarters has started QR code facilities to buy tickets by the commuters. The 102 counters in 87 railway stations under Hubballi Division will disburse tickets providing QR code for UPI payments. That is to say that the passengers can make payment using the QR Code scanner at the counters and buy their tickets. The railway division has also installed Automatic Ticket Vending Machines where the passengers can purchase the tickets while making the payment using the QR Code. Once the payment is made in a digital mode, the vending machine will generate the ticket and issue it to the passengers. All the shops, food plazas, pay and use toilets, and parking lots in these railway stations offer QR codes for payments by the passengers.

The Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) officials carried out the demolition of the N Convention Centre, a property owned by renowned Tollywood actor Nagarjuna, at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad yesterday, Officials from the HYDRAA, accompanied by local police, demolished the N Convention. The demolition follows allegations that the convention centre was illegally constructed by encroaching upon Tammidi Cheruvu, a local water body. Responding over demolition of Convention Centre, Actor Nagarjuna in an ‘X’post said he was pained by unlawful manner of demolition carried out contrary to existing stay orders by court.

CHENNAI METRO

Twenty Government primary school students from Tamilnadu embarked on a week-long educational tour to Hong Kong as a reward for excelling in state level competitions. The students from various districts will visit Disneyland, the old clock tower and other landmarks of the Country. This is an initiative to promote extra curricular engagement and reduce school drop outs. Kalai Thiruvizha is a festival of arts introduced in 2022-23 and encourages students from Classes 1 to 6 to engage in arts, culture and sports. School education minister Anbil Mahesh said that the Government had invested Rs 3 Crore in this initiative.

उत्तर रेलवे ने जन्‍माष्‍टमी के पर्व को देखते हुए आम जनता की सुविधा और अतिरिक्‍त भीड को कम करने के लिए दो विशेष रेलगाडी चलाने का निर्णय लिया है। यह गाडियां तिलक ब्रिज स्‍टेशन से मथुरा जंक्‍शन और दिल्‍ली जंक्‍शन से मथुरा जंक्‍शन के बीच आज और कल दोनो तरफ से चलाई जाएंगी। इसके अतिरिक्‍त जन्‍माष्‍टमी के अवसर पर रेलवे ने गाजियाबाद – पलवल ईमयू को अस्थाई तौर पर मथुरा जंक्शन तक और मथुरा जंक्शन से यात्रा विस्तार देने का निर्णय लिया है।

केंद्रीय पत्‍तन, पोत परिवहन और जलमार्ग मंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल ने कहा है कि उनका मंत्रालय नाविकों की सुरक्षा, संरक्षा, कल्‍याण और विकास के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। महाराष्‍ट्र के पवई में समुद्री प्रशिक्षण संस्‍थान-एमटीआई में वरिष्‍ठ अधिकारियों और युवा कैडेटों को संबोधित करते हुए श्री सोनोवाल ने इस दिशा में सरकार के कदमों और पहलों को उजागर किया। उन्‍होंने कहा कि सरकार भारत को शीर्ष दस समुद्री राष्‍ट्रों में शामिल करना चाहती है। श्री सोनोवाल ने कहा कि भारत पोत निर्माण, पोतों की मरम्‍मत, पोत पुनर्चक्रण, आयात-निर्यात कारोबार, तटवर्ती पोत परिवहन और अंतर्देशीय जलमार्गों जैसे समुद्री क्षेत्र से जुडे व्‍यापार के सभी क्षेत्रों में उत्‍कृष्‍ट प्रदर्शन कर रहा है।

कोलकाता-समाचार

पश्चिम बंगाल में केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो ने आर.जी.कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्‍पताल के पूर्व प्रधानाचार्य संदीप घोष के खिलाफ वित्तीय अनियमितता मामले में प्रथम सूचना रिपोर्ट दर्ज की है। संदीप घोष से फिलहाल कोलकाता में पूछताछ जारी है और उनका पॉलीग्राफ जांच भी चल रहा है। ब्‍यूरो ने संदीप घोष समेत सात लोगों का पॉलीग्राफ टेस्ट के लिए अदालत से मंजूरी ले ली है।
इस बीच, दुष्‍कर्म मामले में न्याय की मांग को लेकर पश्‍चिम बंगाल के विभिन्‍न विभागों में विरोध प्रदर्शन जारी है। कल कई वामपंथी दलों के छात्रों और युवा संगठनों ने कोलकाता पुलिस मुख्‍यालय के बाहर प्रदर्शन किया।

Today is the birth anniversary of Virachand Gandhi, a Jain scholar who represented Jainism at the first World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. A barrister by profession, he worked to defend the rights of Jains, and wrote and lectured extensively on Jainism, other religions, and philosophy.

Gandhi received a positive response at the Parliament and was asked to deliver more lectures. He ultimately stayed two years in the US and one year in the UK He went outside India to promote Jain values on two other occasions, and is known for giving about 535 lectures on Jainism and having attracted followers from outside India to Jainism. He was awarded various medals for his lectures.

Virachand Gandhi was a polyglot who spoke fourteen languages, including Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, English, Prakrit, Sanskrit, and French.

In 1885, at the age of 21, he became the first honorary secretary of the Jain Association of India.

हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय

मध्यप्रदेश की माटी ने देश को कई सपूत दिए हैं। इनमें एक नाम हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय का है। तत्कालीन ग्वालियर राज्य में उज्जैन के निकट भौरोंसा में 24 मार्च, 1892 को जन्म लेने वाले हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय स्वतंत्रता के बाद अजमेर के मुख्यमंत्री बने। स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार और मध्यप्रदेश की माटी के लाल हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय की आज जयंती है।

हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय का विद्यार्थी जीवन से ही रुझान साहित्य के प्रति हो गया था। हिंदी, संस्कृत और अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य के अध्ययन के बाद वे लेखन की ओरअग्रसर हुए। हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय ने सबसे पहले ‘औदुम्बर’ मासिक पत्र के प्रकाशन द्वारा हिन्दी पत्रकारिता जगत में पर्दापण किया। वर्ष 1911 में वे ‘औदुम्बर’ के सम्पादक बने।

महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी के साथ ‘सरस्वती’ में कार्य करने के बाद हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय ने ‘प्रताप’ और ‘प्रभा’ के सम्पादन में योगदान दिया।

महात्मा गाँधी के निजी सचिव के रूप में उन्होंने 1923 में उनके साथ भारत यात्रा की। महात्मा गाँधी से प्रभावित होकर हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय ‘भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन’ में कूद पड़े थे। पुरानी अजमेर रियासत में इन्हें कई बार जेल जाना पड़ा। स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद वे अजमेर के मुख्यमंत्री निर्वाचित हुए थे। हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय की हिन्दी साहित्य को विशेष देन उनके द्वारा बहुमूल्य पुस्तकों का रूपांतरण है। हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय की अनेक पुस्तकें ‘बापू के आश्रम में’ ‘स्वतंत्रता की ओर’ ‘सर्वोदय की बुनियाद आज हिन्दी साहित्य जगत की अनमोल धरोहर मानी जाती हैं।
